Today, The Daily Cat Tip talks about Inappropriate Urination. I guess they didn't get the Word Up from Calvin that it is called IP - Inappropriate Peeing - MOL!
I did some IPing of my own this weekend! Mawmee found pee in the tray that my litterbox sits on. All of our litterboxes sit in one of those trays you get from Home Depot that goes under a washing machine. It is a hard plastic and can be washed easily, and it also helps catch all the litter we track on our paws.
I went in the litter box and forgot to turn around, and my butt wasn't all the way in the box! Have you ever done that before? MOL!
The vet lady called and said my bloodwork looked pretty good. My kidney values were good. She said my thyroid was a little elevated, so I'm adding 1/2 pill in the evening to my pill routine. I'm the best pill taker in the house because I like pill pockets. Gleek won't eat a pill pocket - silly boy!
Sending all my purrs to Arnold P. today. We are very sad to hear about his illness and possible journey to the bridge. I know Calvin and Spunky will be right there to greet him.
Also sending purrs to Rocky Ann on the bad news she got from the vet today. We're purring for you, RA!
The good news is there was a pee wee in my box this morning! Mawmee called the vet to see if I could get an appointment anyway because she was afraid that if I didn't see the vet before they closed at noon, and I had more peeing problems in the night and tomorrow, I'd end up at the expensive emergency facility over the weekend!
Luckily, they had an early appointment, so off I went! The vet's office has new decorations hanging from the ceiling. They are medium sized inflatables - one is a tick, one is a flea, and one is a tapeworm! Mawmee didn't have her camera with her, or we would have taken pictures of that funny stuff!
So, the vet tech took me in the back and they squeezed and squeezed, and got a little bit of pee out of me so they could look at it up close. Mawmee said she is glad she didn't have to watch them do that because she is sure it wasn't pleasant. I can tell her for sure that it wasn't fun!
Then the vet lady came in and said I have cystitis - that my bladder is small and thick. She also said I've lost a couple of ounces. It was probably all the squeezing they did to get that pee out of me - MOL!
I got an antibiotic shot that lasts two weeks, and another shot too. And, since I'm due for bloodwork, they took me in the back for a second time and let the vampires get some blood. I won't hear about my blood until next week.
I got a treat for being so good, and then I came home! I'm going to do my best to eat more so I can get those ounces back that I've lost.
In the exam room where I was, they have a rubik's cube that has different pill companies and stuff on the little colored squares. Mawmee was playing with it, and decided that the vet bill should be free if you can complete the rubik's cube while your cat is getting treatment. She couldn't complete the cube, so we had to pay!
Well, it looks like I might be going to visit the vet lady tomorrow. I've been sitting in my box and trying to do a pee wee, but nothing much comes out. I did go this morning, so it has developed since then.
Mawmee said she knows it can be very serious for boy cats when they can't pee, but apparently girl cats don't get blocked like boy cats can. I probably have an infection that has caused some inflammation.
Mawmee says it would be nice if we all stayed healthy for at least a week - MOL! Gleek is back on his Valium because he has had three small seizures today. He had one tonight, so he got another 1/2 pill.
When it rains, it pours, as the cats in Arizona and California know! Now, if I could just pee like that . . . . . . . .
