Nicknames:
Baxter I Love You to the Maxter, Floyd, Buddy-Buddy

Quick Bio:
-purebred

Likes:
Strangely, he loves to drink about a teaspoon of coffee every morning with us as we (3) sit in bed and talk about the day.

Pet-Peeves:
Strangers, children, any cat getting more attention than him.

Favorite Toy:
Rubber bands and hair ties. He loves to bat them around and flip them in the air.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Pancake griddle on the gas stove. I usually find him drooling, he's so relaxed.

Favorite Food:
Wet - Wet - Wet! And he doesn't mind nagging us about it.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
I found Baxter in the pound. His previous owners left him when they moved out of an apartment. He was found curled up with his baby brother. At the pound, the kitten was adopted and Baxter was not. He was severely depressed when we got him. I've promised him that he will be taken care of forever.

Bio:
Baxter sleeps cradled in my arm every night. He ususally wakes up around 4am and is extremely loving. Purring loudly, he likes to bite our chins and noses. Despite our protests, he refuses to stop, even after 7 years. He's wonderfully loyal and a true lap cat.

My Heart Is Broken

June 27th 2008 9:02 pm   [link to this entry]

After being sick for more than a year and a half, we lost our sweet boy today. I can't stop crying. I have never felt so connected and utterly in love with any other pet throughout my life. He was so young - only 12 years old - and I would do anything to go back to a time when he was still vibrant and sassy and snuggly. Baxter's illness took away a lot of his spunk, but he continued to love to cuddle and bite my chin.

I miss you, Buddy Buddy. My heart will never be the same.
