My family had just put my childhood cat to sleep, and were still grieving for him, when my best friend found Cleo under a car in a parking garage in New Jersey on Thanksgiving. He was super tiny, but obviously alone, so they brought him home for Thanksgiving dinner. She called me and asked if our family was ready for another cat, and a couple of days later, we had a teeny little ball of fluff. He has since come to live with my husband and I.
