A couple of days ago I was sitting on the sofa next to Mawmee, and she saw me dribble a little from my mouth. My head quivered a very tiny bit. She didn't think much about it because it was a little strange, but nothing too weird.
Then this morning I was on the sofa again, and I started licking my lips like you do when you're going to do a flojectile. But instead, I dribbled from my mouth and did the head shaking, but I didn't want her near me, so I jumped down. It was over quickly, and then I started scratching my head with my back foot.
She immediately told Daddy that she thought I had a seizure. He came upstairs to check me out, and I had another one. This one was more severe - my eyes were really wide, and I was running in circles to one side. It lasted about a minute, and Mawmee immediately called the vet.
They got us in right away. While we were in the exam room waiting for the vet to get there, I was on the table with Mawmee holding me, and she noticed I started licking my lips again. She went to put me on the floor because she didn't want me jumping off the table, and I started hissing which is super duper unusual for me. I don't want anyone near me when this happens.
Mawmee opened the door and called for the vet because she wanted her to see me having a seizure so she would know what happens. This one was very small and she saw the end of it. I didn't run in circles on the seizure in the vet's office.
They took me in the back where the vampire got some of my blood. The vet lady was real nice to me, and she said lots of different things can cause seizures. So, while we wait for my blood to get checked out, I got an antibiotic shot, and a shot of valium. She said the valium would make me a little tipsy for a couple of hours, and very hungry! I also got a prescription of phenobarbital pills.
When I got home and came out of the carrier, I was acting like a drunken sailor, but I'm more stable already. I did eat some food, and I'm going to chillax the rest of the day and hope I don't have any more seizures because they scare me.
If you have any purrs left after all the ones you used on Calvin, I sure would like you to throw some my way. We'll get my blood results early next week.
This morning I was looking out the kitchen window into the backyard. I like to do that to see what is going on in the yard.
All of a sudden, something landed on the windowsill. I jumped and almost burst through the glass! Mawmee heard this big thump and she looked over at me in surprise. I was ready to attack the giant whatever-it-was that was trying to break into our window!
I stood there kind of loopy after I almost knocked myself out jumping into the window. We both looked down on the ground, but the monster must have run away.
We sure don't need a security system with me around!
Every night Calvin gets his sub Q fluids. He sits on Daddy's lap, and Daddy is in charge of putting the needle under his skin and holding up his skin so the fluids can go in.
Mawmee is in charge of sitting on the floor in front of the chair and holding Calvin so he doesn't move or try to get down. He is usually very good, and he gets kissed on the head while all this is going down.
I have a job to do while all this is going on. I like to come over and sit right up against Mawmee. She will pet me with one hand while she holds Calvin with the other. I've been doing this for quite awhile, and last night I decided to kick it up a notch!
I entertained everyone by rolling around and showing my tummy. Mawmee says I was flirting with her. She would reach out and rub my big tummy, and then I'd roll back and forth some more. I'd look at her with a twinkle in my eye. She said it was very cute, and Daddy says I look like a big groundhog!
Hey, it's exercise, and everycat could use a little bit . . . . . . . . .
