Arrival Story:
Sean and I wanted a cat as a wedding gift to each other (even though I wasn't a "cat person") and so we contacted some fellow college students who had posted a "Free Kittens" ad. Turns out that the college students were smoking some serious weed in a group house situation, so all of the kittens were stoned when we went to pick one out. We chose Mia (who was about 6 weeks old at the time) because she was sitting on top of a basket just kinda zoning out and then fell right off. It was very endearing. By the next day, she was stone cold sober and tearing up the house and us. Fortunately, we were already smitten.

Bio:
Mia was part of a litter of 5, although only 3 kittens survived. She is a brown tabby with white chin, tummy and socks. Mia begs to go outside and will break out whenever given the chance. Mostly she sticks pretty close to our house. As far as we know, she is not a successful hunter. We've watched her blatantly ignore a mole. She loves catnip but becomes violent after she's had it. Thus, it's a rare treat. An odd relationship exists between Mia and our poodle, Toby. We tend to look the other way. Mia is our only cat who destroys furniture. Rather than declaw her (she needs those bad boys when she's outside), we just installed French doors to close off the "nice" furniture in the living room and have resigned ourselves to repeatedly replacing the other sofas in the family room. Her most endearing trait? She is very gentle with our toddler daughter and child visitors. Mia seems to have a soft spot for babies.
