Arrival Story:
I adopted 6 week old Pasha from the animal shelter as my first very own cat - he was the most beautiful kitty!! Blue eyes, and the most striking coloration. He started out with sort of a creamy oyster color; got more tabby looking, more striped as he got older. > > > > He was very sick with a nasty respiratory infection; the vet told me to take him back and get a healthy kitten - but I was already smitten with Pasha and instead, nursed him back to health. The vet had me feed him jarred baby food - chicken and rice - so Pasha learned to like people food very early on! --> --> --> More great pics in Pasha's album at http://community.webshots.com/user/evelynblack

Bio:
He was a Southern California kitty - brought him with me to Ohio - but he never learned to like the winter snow!! We had moved a few times before in his lifetime - and unfortunately, each time he got a little bit more paranoid and less friendly, except with us. We also think his health problems were actually caused by the annual vaccinations that he got when he was younger. He stopped getting them the latter half of his life, but by then it was too late . . . . . . . . . He was with us from 1984 - 1996. He has a special place in my heart - gone but not forgotten. RIP . . .

Remembering Pasha

What a frog tastes like!

Pasha got rushed to the emergency vet's office one evening when he was a youngster - he came inside foaming & frothing at the mouth and acting all panicky. At the emergency vet, we waited quite a while while they dealt with other animals who were bleeding profusely or not breathing; and by the time they were ready to see Pasha, he had long since stopped foaming and didn't have a temperature or even elevated blood pressure. -> -> -> Turns out that he'd bitten or licked a frog in our garden - and the secretions of the frog made him wish he'd left it alone! Expensive lesson.
