Arrival Story:
After having to put to sleep my cat Smokey, who was my friend for 21 years, I decided it was time to give a new kitty a home. I have traveled to Norway several times and had seen Norwegian Forest Cats there. I was lucky enough to find a 5 month old NFC that needed a home. That was Smudge . . . and I fell in love with this wonderful kitty! He has a very special relationship with my dog Wesley. He just loves Wesley, follows him everywhere and will cry at the window when Wesley is outside and he can't be with him. I also adopted Smudges sister, Sissel They are the best of friends. Smudge is just the sweetest cat--somedays he acts awfully silly, like he is "one french fry short of a Happy Meal"--but he makes me laugh and I couldn't love him more.

THE GREATNESS OF A NATION AND ITS MORAL PROGRESS CAN BE JUDGED BY THE WAY ITS ANIMALS ARE TREATED. PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS !! There are just too many wonderful dogs and cats in this world who will never know the meaning of a "forever" home.

I finally started eating yesterday so Dr. Bill let me come home last night. I have several stitches in my mouth and have to take antibiotics for the next week, but am feeling so much better--and it is so good to be home!!!!!! Thank you everyone for purring for me--it really does make a kitty feel much better much sooner.

5 Toofies Gone for Good!

First of all, thank you everyone for all the purrs, rosettes, pawmails, and much more! I did have 5 toofies removed on Thursday, but have refused to eat anything and am still running a temperature. Dr. Bill has decided that it is best for me to stay at the hospital and recieve IV fluids and antibiotics. As of today, I am doing a little better but still not eating and not good enough to go home. I know I will feel like eating soon and look forward to coming home on Monday or Tuesday. Thank you so much for keeping me in your purrs.

What's a "Gummer"?!?!

Mom noticed I have not quite been myself lately so she took me to see Dr. Bill yesterday. Of course, they could not find anything wrong with me! But last night, Mom saw that my chin was swollen and I was drooling. So off to the vet we went again this morning. Well, this time I had a fever and Dr. Bill found that I had 5 infected teeth that need pulling!!! So why does Mom keep calling me "Gummer"--my name is SMUDGE--clueless MOM!!!! So I am off to the vet again in the morning for my dental work. I hope they know that my name is SMUDGE---not Gummer!!
