Arrival Story:
A tiny white cat was found wandering in our village. It was very hungry and did not look well. A friend asked me to care for it temporarily. I did so and managed to find the original owner. Having a cat (even for only 1 week) after a gap of many years showed me how much I had missed having feline friends. Then another friend told me the story of a pregnant stray cat that had been adopted by someone she knew. This person could not take the kittens that were about to be born. When the kittens were just a week old I went to look at them. I chose one but then couldn't resist the runt of the litter and took two instead. Polly was this runt! The other one I chose was a fluffy black (Polly was very smooth coated), but when I returned 5 weeks later to pick them up I was told I could have the black and white one if I wanted. I had previously been told the black and white was "taken". I could not take three kittens so I had to choose ...............

Bio:
The other kitten I chose was Suki, a black and white "tuxie". Suki was bigger and fluffier than Polly and indoors was generally the dominant cat. Sukie died of cancer just before Easter this year (2007). I cannot make out if Polly misses her sister, with whom she used to fight incessantly, or whether she is pleased that she now gets first chance at the food and that she doesn't have to compete for attention, lap space etc.
