Arrival Story:
May 2007- Solace was the new kitten I jhad put down money on. He was not quite 8 weeks and not ready to leave his mom, but May 28th, 2007, he would be ready to go! (A week Later...) Solace finally came HOME and caused a ruckus! Bethany was not real happy and had a hard time adjusted to having a kitten around again (she's an old lady now.) He meowed a lot! Woke me up in the middle of the night meowing over and over again! (He is a lot quieter now). He is a character!

Bio:
May 2007- Because his Momma is a rescue cat needing adoption, he and his siblings had spent their early lives only in a large cage with very little handling or petting from humans. I got him from a pet store that only sold rescued cats and dogs or dogs from local breeders only. I have sold them some of my mice and rats before. Anyway, because he had spent his first 8 weeks of life in a cage, we assumed he would be very timid when he came home with us. Boy, wasn I wrong about that! He had protests when I picked him up to hold him (and so did his sister we held at the pet store). We had bought him a brand new tiny collar with a tiny tag on it (and bell) and a harness and leash. My friend gave me a snuggli type thing made for ferrets so I would be able to hold him and carry him around a lot. took him to a few appointments (they gave me permission to take him in).I feared that if I was not able to pick up the apartment a lot before he came that he would hide out somewhere behind the boxes (I will be moving at some point.) He was unphased by his caged beginnings and is a very social boy. He does not hide (unless he is stalking a member of the household... including humans), and if he did he would give his hiding place away anywayonce he jumped out to pounce on some innocent member of the family. Solace has grown into a very handsome boy! He does have some excess "baggage" and started carrying this baggage at the young age of 6 months (when cats are still sleak). He loves his kitty toys and has a toy box that he regulars. He also enjoys some of the dog's toys as well. He wants so badly to be an outdoor cat, but it simply is not a safe neighborhood for him to be one. I cannot endure losing another cat. Solace does loves his food... and Rosie's (dog) and mine and yours... You get the idea. His lynx stripes have darkened nicely and his eyes are a pretty blue-grey... and pupils are kind of uneven... one crosses in a bit. Though this handsome boy is a hellion, he is very loved. He is our wild child.

What Breed?:
Solace is actually a Siamese/domestic short hair and a Persian mix. His dad is a Persian. His mom is a Siamese/Domestic S.H. He was the only Siamese marked kitten and he had one brother (tabby) that had a slightly smooshed face (didn't look too smooshed to me, but I'll take the salesperson's word.).

What kind of Cat is Solace turning into?:
Read the Bio for "Nermal" one of my (In Loving Memory of) cats of the family. He will be (update- is far worse) than Nermal. It seems like Solace spends most of his awake time attacking EVERYONE in the house ALL OF THE TIME! Then the other 5% of the time he spends sleeping, eating and using the litter pan. He has collected a brand new group of nicknames... "Hellion" is one of them.

How is he getting along with his peers?:
August 2007- Solace is losing popularity in the house with the two other animals. Rosie, my dog doesn't even like playing with him anymore because he is way to rough... bites hard! Bethany, my 11 year old cat will never warm up to him because he can never just BE with her. He can't NOT attack her if she is in reach (or even if she is merely under the same roof ... which is always). I have had all sorts of kittens over the years and I have never owned one I couldn't deal with. I try to explain to people that he is beyond being a playful kitten, but no one really understands. (Oh, he's only 4 months old! He is just being a kitten!) He is not just being a kitten, and I invite anyone over when he is an adult and still behaving like this only has bigger teeth. He actually climbed up on my lap twice last night and just layed there and purred and never once attacked me, not even as he left.
