Arrival Story:
After we adopted Lily, we were looking for a second cat. We saw Mr. Bester on Petfinder.org, & e-mailed the rescue. We didn't hear back, & eventually adopted Hero. However, 3 weeks later, the rescue e-mailed saying Mr. Bester (whom they were calling Flubber) was still available. Our first reaction? Waaaaah! Our second? Hm, wonder if we could get a third cat... We went to see him that weekend & thought he was too great to pass up. He came home with us in May 2007.

Bio:
Mr. Bester is named after Walter Koenig's character in Babylon 5 (he's not an evil telepath, though!). Mr. Bester, unlike most cats, does not saunter, stalk, or walk timidly. He is very purposeful! Whenever he goes anywhere, he looks so serious & intent. He loves to come up to anyone on the computer & give a plaintiff little kitty meow. His appetite for petting & snuggling is seemingly endless. The rescue told us that he was toilet trained & actually peed in his foster mom's toilet regularly, but he doesn't do that with us. He uses the litterbox, but unfortunately doesn't seem to realize that he needs to cover up what he leaves behind! He was rescued from a lot in Harlem twice, where he was living with a bunch of cats that beat him up frequently (his ears show signs of this)--he's declawed. Again, we'd never declaw a cat, but because Lily came to us declawed, we thought it'd be safer to rescue other declawed cats.
