Drinking straws, q-tips, a fur mouse with a rattle inside....seems to be the favorite in this house, and get this; marshmallows!! She'll bat one around the house for hours, and don't leave the bag out or she'll drag the whole bag around!

Arrival Story:
Her daddy and I were out walking in a local park one evening. This park has a feral cat colony that we always go to "visit" when we walk. As we approached the group on this occasion, we heard loud, distressed kitty cries. We looked around for a few minutes and then finally looked up. There she was, half-way up a tree. We tried coaxing her down, but she was too scared. Her daddy finally climbed the tree next to her. When he got close enough to reach out to her, she reached out to him...with both paws!! It was WAY too cute! She then sat perfectly still on his shoulder while he climbed back down. Clearly some jerk had dumped her with the ferals. Paige let me carry her all the way home, about 3/4 of a mile, with zero fuss and purring all the way. This sweet disposition has only grown sweeter--she just loves people and loves to be the center of attention. We reflect now that she would not have survived long outside as she fears nothing (except the vacuum) and is sure everyone she meets is her friend. We are happy we came along when we did and were able to give this sweet girl a forever home.

Bio:
Paige is hilarious and doesn't know it. The girl is a walking contradiction. She is the clumsiest cat I have ever known. She is beautiful...very oriental in appearance; sleek, long legged, very elegant. Were she human, she would be a super model. Alas, she would be a super model that routinely tripped her way down the cat walk! Paige romps through the house like a Clydesdale, drinks water like a dog...getting it all over the floor, and when jumping up on things, often manages to miss her target! She is happy as can be though, and seems oblivious to her uncat-like ways. She cracks us up, and we just adore our clumsy girl!

Playing with the pawrents.

July 6th 2008 5:58 am   [link to this entry]

Meows every purr!

I sure hope every purr, meow, has had a purr-fect July 4th weekend and that you all, meow, got to spend extra time playing with your pawrents. It's always, like, meow, sad, isn't it, when our pawrents have to go back to work after a long holiday and we don't, meow, get them all to ourselves anymore? *sigh*

Ah, well, I did get to play with my humans because I DID get an entire bag of meow, marshmallows ALL to myself this weekend, meow! I can always, meow, count on daddy to leave the bag out at some point....and meow! Last night, he did! Soooo.....after everyone went to bed, I snatched 'em, like meow, off the kitchen counter and chewed a hole in the end that wasn't already open, in order to liberate, meow, as many marshmallows as possible. Then I dragged the, meow bag into the living room where I shook the bag really good, meow, to begin marshmallow liberation.

When a good number of them had managed to meow, escape, I took a, meow, brake, and made sure my teeth marks were all over each one. Then, meow, I waited until precisely 6:30 a.m, grabbed the bag and charged up the stairs making as much, meow, racket as possible and liberating more marshmallows along the way. Then, I, meow screeched down the hallway and galloped into the bedroom where I launched my 17-pound-self into bed, meow, with mommy and daddy, tossed the bag up in the air, meow, and peppered mommy and daddy with marshmallows! *Falls on the floor laughing and holding her sides at this point* Meeeeeeoooowwww!!!! *wipes tears of laughter from her eyes*

Well, of course, mommy noted immediately, meow, aloud, that daddy had "LEFT THE BAG OUT LAST NIGHT!!!!", meow, but daddy only grumbled and went back to sleep. But, meow, mommy immediately got up and fed us all our breakfast.

*Sly smile*

Mission, meow, accomplished.

Love, purrs, chatter and many more meows,
Paige
