Arrival Story:
I was adopted into the family from a humane society. At first my name was Pokey and I had a sister named Porkey. We were both going to be adopted, but nearly the day before my family adopted me someone had taken my sister. But since my family is so nice they got me anyway and renamed me to Katie. Whose idea was it to name me Pokey? Is it my claws?

Bio:
I spend a lot of time sleeping, like my sister Marie, but I have more favorite spots then her. Also, I get more attention because the family spends a lot of time downstairs and Marie always sleeps upstairs. In the evenings, after I'm all rested up and warm from the sun, I run around looking for bugs that snuck into the house. Ooh! Speaking of bugs, when the people let Holly outside at night, a moth nearly always gets in and flies around lamps. When they do, I wait for them to get tired and flutter down near the ground, then I pounce them! Marie thinks I'm silly, but she never gets as much fun as I do. That's why I always pounce her when she comes downstairs to say good-night to our humans. Hee!

Valentines

February 14th 2008 9:06 am   [link to this entry]

Today is Valentines Day, say my owners. A day of love, chocolate, and roses. Well, I'm not really interested in love, per se. But I hear chocolate is nice. Roses might make me sneeze, but I love their smell. But no one ever buys me roses or chocolate. Is love a requirement, and everything else just a bonus? Hmm.

Christmas time is here, and you know what comes with it!

WRAPPING PAPER!

Well, there is no wrapping paper out yet for me to play with, but the tree is up and shining brightly. It has to be... my favorite spot to hide ever. And now is the best time of year, because there are no presents under it yet, and I can still get in there. I hate it when their family is so nice that the whole bottom of the tree overflows with presents and I can't even get in.

Though I usually find a way in anyhow. Even if I have to hide under a present... I am very committed to the under-branches of that tree.

And, I know that every kitty loves ornaments, but they're just not my thing. If I was going to play with something that wasn't mine, it would be pipe cleaners or pencils, definitely. Oh wait--I already do that.

What a long break!

November 25th 2007 2:43 pm   [link to this entry]

Wow, I have been on break from writing for waaay too long. A lot of stuff has happened... where should I start?

Well, as you can probably tell, unless you live in Florida or Hawaii or somewhere like that, has it gotten cold! In Tennessee, it should not be this cold. Something is wrong with the weather, definitely. When I lived in Michigan, sure, it got cold, but we're in Tennessee now!

Anyway, you can see that I have a guestbook. Yay! And it is so pretty. I got jealous of Holly's nice guestbook and wanted one of my own, I suppose. But anyway, that's not very important.

The guinea pig has been very sick. Ellen has been very sad ever since they took her to the vet (I feel so sorry for her because she had to go!) and today she was a lot worse. But their hopes are still high. I hope so much that she gets better! She has an ear problem of some kind that makes her really dizzy, and have vertigo, so she's really really clumsy. This evening, she was very weak and tired, and she can barely lift her head. Ellen has to hold her up for her to get a drink of water. Pray for her if you are reading this! The little guinea pig means so much to the family!
