getting sick on weekends when the vet was closed. And making friends - he just expected everyone to like him, and in general they did.

Arrival Story:
My sister-in-law's cat had kittens; he was one of them. Born in New York State, he moved to PA in 1987, to Canada in 1993, and back to PA in 1995. He got in trouble from the start - getting caught in the dishwasher door on his first night home, climbing onto porch roofs and in the windows of neighbors' houses, getting stuck in trees, and getting in several spats with a big feral tom. He also liked to talk and sing, especially in response to his name, and went camping with us several times. The smartest cat I've ever known.

Bio:
Lived until September 2000, when he suffered a systemic collapse brought on by previously-undiagnosed liver trouble. (On a weekend, of course.) He apparently had been sick for days without showing any indication that he was ill until a high fever and lethargy made it impossible for him to tough it out any longer. In addition to liver failure he had tumors on his lungs and liver, and his prognosis was not good even if he got over the immediate illness (fever, dehydration, bowel blockage) and he was very depressed and unresponsive, so we decided it was best to let him go.
