Arrival Story:
I was mooning over the kittens in a recue center and fell hard for one. But by the time I had gotten ahold of the contact person, she had already been adopted. But then the lady who called me back told me about a cat they'd been trying to place for a few months who'd been dumped at a vet's office. My husband, daughter and I went to check him out and by the time our visit had ended, that little boy had us wrapped around his paw! His facial markings suggested (to me, anyway :-) ) a moustache and goatee, and since he was so full of daring-do, the name of my favorite swashbuckler seemed to fit. As soon as he was healed from being "fixed" we brought him home. He's been king of the roost ever since.

Bio:
Our other cat, Max, had a hard time adjusting to his new brother. He hid under the sofa for a week after we began letting D'artagnan out of the spare bedroom. But D wouldn't leave Max alone, and so he eventually felt compelled to come out. From the way Maximum was looking at our new addition, it was obvious that he had his own name for the interloper: Beelzebub! Well, Max eventually came around, but when D'artagnan is being especially mischevous, we're likely as not to refer to him as 'Bub.
