Arrival Story:
Phaedra is my second Maine Coon. She came to live with us after a short trip to, and rejection by, a breeder in Brazil. We think that breeder is nuts to let her go, but we are grateful he did! She is the epitome of grace (and for a large Maine Coon, that's amazing) and extremely intelligent. Pha-Pha (Fay-Fay) is definately the Queen of our cat household (8 kitties), ruling with dignity and reserve!

Bio:
Phaedra is also the only cat I know of that is registered as a "Dangerous Dog" with the postal service. While pregnant with her first litter, she got a woo-woo (TMI, I know, sorry) infection that required a trip to the vet, and a very uncomfortable examination. She bit me and then my husband while we were holding her during the exam. The next day I had to go to an emergency clinic with an infected bite. It was reported to the Humane Society, who, in turn, notified the post office. I found out when a new mail carrier accidently left the "warning, dangerous dog" notice in my mail box. I returned it to the post office and informed them, that she was an INDOOR only CAT and had never bitten anyone other that my husband and I. The postal workers had a good laugh, but still warn new or temporary mail carriers that there is a "dangerous dog" at our address -- named Phaedra, breed- Maine Coon. Too funny!
