Arrival Story:
When my Mom made me and my brothers and sisters go fend for ourselves, I was in touble. The first year or so of my life were spent outside, scrounging for mice and water, hoping to avoid the racoons that lived near me. But the mice were few and far between, and I was LONELY. I missed having someone to talk to. Then one day, after at least a week with no food. I stumbled into a person's yard. There was a girl person there and she gasped at the sight of me. She ran inside-I thought I'd scared her- but then she came out with her Dad. They looked sad. They took me to a garage, shooed out some other cats and gave me food. They thought I was so skinny that I wouldn't live through the day, so they tried to make me comfortable. But I sure surprised them! I was alive when the girl came to check on me so I had to thank her! Then I started in on my life story. I asked her a bunch of questions! I meowed and meowed and meowed and meowed and....

Bio:
My people (yes, they're mine now) think I talk a lot. That first day I lived with them, I meowed myself hoarse. But I still talk every chance I get. Sometimes they make fun of my unique voice, but I don't mind. They call me Baxter... I guess there was another cat on a "TV" (whatever that is) that made phone calls and meowed a lot about a "Meow Mix." Now whenever the girl sees me she says "Baxter! It's Baxter!" I don't get it. But hey, attention's attention.

Diary of a Chatty Cat

My Name

One of my newest Catster Friends asked my family a very good question. How did we get our names? Well, most of us have a story, so we all decided to write diary entries about it.
My name comes from a TV comercial for cat food where a guy answered his phone and said "Baxter, it's Baxter" and then the smart cat who called him said "meow meow meow meow meow meow.... " on and on and on he just kept talking like I do so my people said my name was Baxter and I thought that was just fine and so I kept it and it was great and.....

[Cut short by Baxter's typist who thinks that pretty much gets the point across]

This is Baxter's typist speaking. He's been missing for a while now. It's been too long just to be one of his little jaunts. So if any of you Catsters see a light orange and white cat, with one cloudy eye, and a loud mouth in or around Central City, NE please let me know via pmail!!! We hope he's just lost, but are worried that a fox may be in the neighborhood again...

Hrmmmph. Hate wintah. It's cold. Freezes th' watah in our little bowl. I can usually poke a hole through th' thin ice if I want a drin' of watah at night. Th' othah night, howevah, was so cold th' whole bowl of watah' froze solid. I licked it. My tounge stuck. My person saw me. Laughed. Hrmmph. But now he give' us watah even more often. It doesn't freeze solid now. My tounge hurts.

Baxter

PS If I heah any "cat got y' tounge" jokes, gonna bite. Hrmmph.

[Baxter's Typist: .... nothing! He was refreshingly brief!]
