Arrival Story:
After I started Ragdoll Rescue NW in 2003 I heard about a horrible shelter in NV that gave the kitties only 3 day's to find homes or they were killed, they were not treated very well and more than just a few died of illness even if they were adopted. I searched the web site daily looking for Ragdolls and found way to many. I happend to have a volunteer in Utah who was willing to drive there and help me rescue some. Well it was a really hard ordeal for her and cost her a tin of money. I sent her the numbers and photo's of the cats to go get and was told that the cat that was listed for the cat we would call BB was feral ( his photo did show him in a stray trap cage ) and unadoptable so she had already paid for 2 other cats and was prepared to foster 3 so she ran back in at closing time and picked one from a cage! The kitty angels were with her for BB that day becasue the numbers were mixed up and she got BB after all with the wrong number! The three she took home were all sick and one died the next day, we found a great adopter for Sweatie a cute little seal point and I decided I wanted BB . Well we were making arrangments to somehow get him to me in Oregon and on the off chance she had him scanned for a chip and he had one! She contacted the owner listed and she had turned him into the shelter with another cat so it was touch and go but he was stil coming to me. We arranged to Sky Ark fly him to me and due to bad weather he went through 3 states and overnighted in Idaho and was going to have to spend the night in Olympia with the pilots untill a nice lady offered to drive him part way down to me that night! So I picked him up at 11 pm drove home and he hardly even acted like he had been anyplace, he was glad to stretch his legs when we got home but knowing BB like I do now I'm sure it was all just a big adventure for him and if they had let him out of his crate on the plane he would have loved to co pilot for them!
