Arrival Story:
Wilma appeared at our neighbor Betty's house July 1995; gave birth to three kittens the next day. Betty allowed Wilma to reside in her cellar while nursing. Sadly, Wilma stepped in some linoleum floor adhesive which leaked from a corroded can in the cellar, and she licked it from her paws. The chemical caused her throat to swell almost completely shut. The vet was not too optimistic. I had to feed and hydrate her with an eye dropper. We feared that the chemical burns were lethal, but one day she showed signs of improvement. To this day, she has a very raspy voice from the burns. Other neighbors adopted the kittens, and we took Wilma. We wanted to name her "Betty" in honor of the neighbor, but Betty declined. So, "Wilma" got her name from Betty's neighbor on "The Flintstones".

Bio:
Wilma was accustomed to people, so we assume she was kicked out of a home due to her pregnancy. She is without a doubt the most affectionate cat I've ever had. She licks my nose, face, chin, hands. She gives love bites. She stands on Dad's guitar so he can't play it when she wants more attention
