Arrival Story: FC's dad found him in an alley on a snowy day. FC was a little kitten, and was going through the trash trying to find food.

Bio: Fiesta Cat is a very caring, loving cat. He loves to snuggle, and has a very loud purr. He really takes care of his human and cat family. FC has always been super laid back--unless he is in the car or thinking about food. He is an Olde Furt, and has the health problems to prove it. His bones creak when he walks, he wobbles when he stands, his eyesight is degenerating, etc. However, he still knows how to be comfortable! He is quite the amazing boy, and we love him dearly!!

I got my "senior screen" test results back today. I'll just list the areas that were not within normal range.
BUN 54 (normal 15 - 34 mg/dL) H
Creatinine 2.8 (normal 0.8 - 2.3 mg/dL) H
Neutrophil Seg 79 (normal 35 - 75%) H
Lymphocytes 14 (normal 20 - 55%) L
Absolute Lymphocyte 1148 (normal 1500-7000 /uL) L
urinalysis
Blood 2+ Negative H
blood pressure systolic 140 (down from 200 last August)
The kidney values are a little better than my last screening in August. The vet said that the white blood cells are normally low in kitties my age. The urine had a bit of blood in it, but that's not abnormal for my kidney disease.
Thanks!

Dear Friends,
I'm delighted to say that my test results are back and I'm a healthy old kitty!!! I have no bladder infection, and my blood results are fine. Of course, I still have chronic renal failure. However, the numbers are better than when I was checked in August! Mom says that rather than just having the usual 9 lives, I seem to be on life 15 or something.
Thanks for all your wonderful prayers and purrs. I know that they really help!!!!

Hi Friends,
I just got back from the vet. I saw a different dr., she was very nice and thorough. The great news is that my blood pressure (systolic) is down to 140!! It was over 200 before I started my medication. So, I am very happy about that!
She said my heart and lungs sound great. She didn't feel any lumps. She said my kidneys are small, but that's not unusual at my age. I'm down to 10 lbs 11 ozs. I will get my results from the urinalysis and blood tests tomorrow. They are doing the old kitty screening, so it will be very thorough.
Fortunately, I did not pee on my bed last night! I am sneezing, and have some sinus drainage, so I may be getting my respiratory virus back. I'll start on my Lysine today. It helps me fight the virus.
My humans have been told to feed me whatever I'll eat, so I'm hoping for lots and lots of Fancy Feast. Everybody at the vet office was going on and on about how pretty I am. I kept trying to crawl up into the techs arms so that the dr. would stop all that poking!!!
I will post on here the results of my blood and urine testing. They will fax the results to the humans in the morning. Mom took a couple of pictures of me yesterday. I'm sleeping on my pink blankie. It's on the couch over a heating pad, so it's nice and warm.
Thanks to all my wonderful friends for your kind words and purrs. My family and I really appreciate it.
Purrrrs and nosekisses,
FC
