Arrival Story: Gideon came from a foster home and his foster mom said that as a kitten he had been chased up a tree by a big mean doggy. Somehow, Gideon had declawed himself (this is how they described it) and shredded his feet and the tree trying to survive. He was rescued and healed up, I suppose with no lasting effects. His claws are fine and all there. Except, he's very timid, hates being held, he has cow hocked legs and isn't too graceful of a jumper. He doesn't climb and when he's jumping down he sounds like a 'ton of bricks' hence the nickname.

Bio: Gideon was in a foster home with 20 or more other cats. He was at PetsMart just before Christmas and my sister and dad put a deposit on him as a Christmas gift for me. They brought him home on Christmas Eve and hid him all day in a room in our house. I had no idea. He was so quiet and didn't make one peep. Having known Gee for a year and a half now I realize he's practically mute so of course he did not make a sound in that room. I've only heard him meow 3 times. Mostly it is when he is playing with the other cats. One was recently though when I was giving his new baby brother a bath. The kitten meowed like I was killing him and Gideon waited patiently at my side to see what was happening. When the kitten did not stop fussing Gideon patted my ankle lightly to get my attention. That's never happened before. Gee is pretty standoffish so I was shocked to feel him touch me. I looked down in confusion then went back to washing the kitten. Then I heard a small, unfamiliar meow and by the time I realized who that was meowing I could feel that I was also being bitten. That meow was my warning to stop hurting the kitten or else brother Gee was going to have to attack. The bite was nothing. It was quick teeth on the skin and immediately released. There was no evidence that he had even touched me which makes the whole bad ass kitty situation that much funnier. Gideon could not be further from being a bad ass. He is a sweet, timid little boy.
