Greetings everyone!!! Yesterday my mommy took the dog to daycare. My sister Mia and I had the house to ourselves. It was glorious. Unfortunately the dog came back. But, that's ok. She was exhausted, so I was able to cuddle with my mommy while the doggie napped.
Mia and I had a ton of fun sleeping in the dog's crate, laying in the sun, and of course sleeping on mommy's bed. We always do that when she goes to work. It's the only time we can do it without the dog wanting to sniff our butts or try to play. I really don't like it when she tries to play. I wish she would just leave me alone. But, alas, it doesn't happen.
I am starting to be a little more tolerant of the pooch. It depends on what kind of day I'm having, and how energetic the dog is that day. I used to hiss if she just looked at me. Now, it's only if she tries to come close and sniff me. Which isn't too often since I used to slap her all the time. Now she's afraid of my fighting prowess. :)
On the other hand, my sister Mia is a traitor. She walks right up to the dog and will sniff her, and let the dog sniff her butt. She only gets upset if the dog sniffs too long. Otherwise, she walks all over the bed while the dog is up there, and cuddles with mommy. Mom says she's braver than I am. But come on! It's just that Mia isn't as cautious as I am. Hello, she's the one that constantly tries to escape. She's totally an adrenaline junkie.
I should go back to the bed to get maximum nap time in before mommy comes home again.

I've never kept a diary before, but I thought others might like to know what life is like for a guard kitty. Oh sure, I have a dog and everyone thinks that dogs are good guard animals. But that thing just cuddles with my mommy all the time. She doesn't lay in front of the door, or hide in the crate to listen for intruders. And my kitty sister is more interested in chasing bugs, opening stuff, and plotting her escape than in guarding.
However, there is one time of day that I don't lay in front of the door. And that is when mommy is gone and the dog is in her crate. Only then do I have full access to the big comfy bed. When mommy is home, she and the dog lie in there, and I don't like the dog too much. So, when no one is there, I go upstairs and crawl into the bed and curl up. I like to sleep under the covers, or make a little nest on top of them. I figure, the dog's crate is right by the front door, she can do her dog duty and guard the house while I enjoy the comfort that is my mommy's bed.
Now, don't let all this talk of guarding fool you. I have my napping spots. It's just that most of them allow me to keep an eye on the front door or porch door at all times. And one of my favorite spots is up high so I can watch everything.
Now, I need to go resume my nap. I'll keep you updated, and will try to expand my topics a little more. Purrs & Meows!!!!
