Arrival Story: I suppose we're sort of a story of two misplaced souls coming together. Nahnee's former family became pregnant and felt that she was being neglected and needed to be with someone who had time and energy to offer her the care she deserved. I had just lost my beloved feline companion of 10 amazing, magical years to the great unknown, and I was very lost in the world without him. A huge part of me died with him, and I know I'll never be the same person I was while he was still alive. Although there will never be any way to replace my dearest Miles, Nahnee has managed to bring me some love and joy in my time of grieving.
Bio: Nahnee was apparently a pageant princess for the first year of her life, travelling and competing in TICA shows with the people who run Quakencats cattery. She was later flown to New York as a companion for someone living on Long Island who was her dad for 6 years, who got married somewhere along the way and they became a family. After the humans got pregnant with a child of their own species, they decided that they would no longer have time in their lives to care for their feline child - which is where I came in.

I've Been On Catster Since:
Okay, so a few days ago my roommate comes in carrying this wet bundle and sits down in front of the heat. Naturally, I have to see what's going on since that's MY place to sit and I didn't give permission for her to be there without me... So I go over to see what's going on, and this furry head pops out of a red towel and HISSES at me!!! Imagine, some little urchin hissing at ME, the QUEEN of EVERYTHING in -MY- domain.
hrmph.
So now there's this little striped and spotted little food moocher wandering around the house, using all of MY things and jumping at me from time to time. I actually have to hiss to keep him from annoying me while I eat or use my litterbox!
At first I was told that it's just until someone claims him, since he's only 5 months old and was alone in the cold on the street. The neighbours took him in first and didn't want to look after him anymore, he ended up here and I've been charitable enough to allow him to eat MY food, use MY litterbox and drink from MY water fountain - you see, I'm a very gracious girly. Now I'm hearing that if he's not claimed and things seem to be calm enough with him here that he may end up staying! Something about my roommate losing her soulmate Miles 5 months ago and this guy being 5 months old and just showing up from nowhere...
Whatever. I think I'm allergic and I'm totally getting tired of having to watch my back in the catbox. This little monster has GOT TO GO!
Some of us experience "food coma" after we eat, but this is never the case with me! After I get something I -really- love, I've got to go climb up and sit on the person who gave it to me and stick my purry little nose into her ear to say "Thank you!"
I left a little food in my bowl, and after this journal entry and all of that purring I'm pretty sure I'm famished again...
I seem to have accumulated so much cool new stuff since I moved into this new place! My new friend brought me all kinds of toys, and since my last vet wrote in the wrong birthdate on my records (my real DOB is printed on my pedigree) I ended up having a birthday party when it wasn't even my birthday! Perhaps we will have 2 parties per year now?
There's also this groovy 6ft cat condo here which was hardly used at all since the kitty who was here before me had no real interest in climbing it. The cubby still smells a bit like him, since he sat in there once or twice (apparently he was very afraid of the sweeper and liked to hide when there was cleaning going on). The tower smells like catnip spray and when I sit at the very top I can look out the window and see everything from my secret perch!
I have blankets waiting for me everywhere and I even have 2 carriers now. I'm great in cars and can travel around for hours without complaining - unless I'm not feeling well. I've had some problems since I got here, but we'll save those for another entry...
I've been approached for modeling work by a few photographers, and my new friend told me that she intends to include me in some of the shoots she'll be in as well! I was photographed by a very talented sculptor/artist last week, so soon I should have a great beginner's portfolio to share with everyone here.
I'm so happy to have found someone who cares about me and wants me to have everything I could ever deserve in life! We just need to have a little talk about this collar she keeps putting on me...
