Arrival Story: Mini was born at the vet clinic I work at, her mom Cassie was rescued from the pound she was 9 years old and pregnant! Cassie was in bad shape, her teeth were rotten, but we had to wait until kittens were weaned to clean her teeth and pull the bad ones. Mini was normal up to a couple of weeks then started shaking when she walked. She has some sort of neurological deficit that doesn't quite move her legs where they are supposed to. Other than that she's normal. She's playful, loving, affectionate. Her back legs just don't quite do what she wants them too all the time. We did not think she was adoptable to the general public, so I took her home to 'foster' her and she has become a permanent foster. Mini does not know anything is wrong, she thunders through the house and is best friends with our Chihuahua who is about her same size.
Bio: Mini Dee got her name as she looks and acts just like our older cat DeeJay. She loves belly rubs, neck rubs, and even has cute chubby cheeks like DeeJay does. She likes her lovings in the same spots as DeeJay, and even 'pets' herself like DeeJay does.
We discovered what Mini Dee has it is called Cerebellar Hypoplasia or Cerebral Palsy.

The Last Forum I Posted In: Mommy is concerned and needs advice...kinda long
Mommy has tried to give me treats here and there (human food like turkey, chicken, etc) and I've had a hard time focusing on it long enough to eat it. But today.....I was in her lap while she was eating some ramen noodles, on a whim she gave me some and YUMMY! I ate a bunch! It was really good!
Grandma was super nice and has bought us baskets to sleep in! They are super comfy with the blankets she put in them, and DeeJay barely fits in one but likes it best. It's supposed to be mine cause it's the littlest like me. Anyways DeeJay is FINALLY tolerating me more, she's even starting to let me snuggle with her and share her baskets. It's cute I give her licks and kisses to 'invite' myself into the basket she's sleeping in and then she licks me back if it's okay. You can see in the above pictures how snuggly she's getting with me. YEAH!!! No more hissy pissy kitty!
Thanks to Rio a kitty here on Catster. We now know what it is I have. It's called Cerebellar Hypoplasia (or Cerebral Palsy) All the symptoms fit and describe me perfectly. Read all about it here: http://www.messybeast.com/disabled.htm#CH
I have most of the symptoms and it describes me perfectly. I am so glad. Mommy was even more glad when she read that I can live a normal, healthy life expectancy. She would be VERY sad if she lost me at an early age.
