Pet-Peeves: Being picked up (she's very skittish about that), getting brushed and the vacuum cleaner.

Favorite Food: Iams dry (Hairball formula), some Proplan (canned) & Sheba (Premium Cuts in tub container)

Arrival Story: Kashmere was adopted at the Shelter. I was dropping off some food and toys for the animals and there she was.... looking so scared and timid. I knew that she would need a home with a family who would love her and accept her shyness. This isn't to mention how pretty she was and still is! Kashmere was going to be put to sleep that week so I told the girl that I want to adopt her immediately and that is when Kashmere became a beautiful part of our family.
Bio: I was found wondering the streets in a development of homes and was scared and confused. They brought me to the Shelter where meowmy later adopted me. *12/22/06~ CATSTER DIARY OF THE DAY

On 4/21/09 at approx 11:45 pm, Kashmere passed away suddenly to what her vet believes was blood clot that traveled to her brain. He has seen numerous cases similar to Kashmere's. I was on the phone when suddenly I heard a loud moaning sound which I thought were my kitties having a disagreement about something so I rushed downstairs only to find my little girl going into convolutions. Kashmere died moments later in my arms. I held her for 15 minutes hoping that she would just wake up and be ok but she wasn't. I checked for a heartbeat which she did not have. Kashmere has never been sick a day in her life and this is all so shocking to me. The vet explained that a convulsion or seizure is caused by something neurological and that explains Kashmere's fully dilated pupils as well (brain dead). Unfortunately, giving her CPR did not help in this situation since it was the brain. On December 8, 2001, I lost my beloved Picasso to Cardiomyopathy at a very young age and now my Kashmere. This is so traumatic and I ask "why" over and over. My vet did say that she could have had a clot when she was a kitten and it just now traveled. Kashmere will always be loved and missed by our family, as well as those who knew her. She was a wonderful little girl who was shy and never bothered a soul. I love you sweetie and one day, we'll be together again. Cocoa's Birthday is also 4/21/09, therefore , this will always be a "bitter-sweet" day for me and my family. Kashmere would have been celebrating her 8th Birthday on May 1st.

*kisses Hello Kitty doll* I can't believe it... I'm a DDP again today so that makes 2 days in a row. All of my Angel furiends are up here in heaven helping me to celebrate yet another day of honors. Catster is such a great place and I think it's wonderful how they acknowledge Angels as well.
Today Cannoli & Cocoa went to see Doc Wray. Cannoli had to get his rabies shot and his heart is sound good. Not sure if you know, but Cannoli was diagnosed with mild Cardiomyopathy a few weeks ago and is taking Atenolol. The Cardiologist said that his diagnosis looks positive. As fur Cocoa, he may be facing some serious health issues. Cocoa hasn't been eating like he should but has been drinking, although more tired than usual. He just doesn't seem to be himself which has meowmy & daddy purrry concerned. He started to limit his appetite on Sunday late afternoon, which mom figured may have been an upset tummy which happens with kitties just as humans. He ate small amounts turkey, treats and unsalted ham but not enough to please mom. On Monday, meowmy decided to call the vet and make the next available appointment with Doc Wray which was this morning. A series of blood work was done on Cocoa so that we can find out what is going on for sure. Doc did say that the issues of him losing weight (lost a little over 1-2/2 pounds since January) could also be his Cardiomyopathy which he was diagnosed 6 years ago. Cocoa also have bad arthritis which can make him feel under the weather. Basically, we are focusing on his kidneys (one was smaller than the other when Doc felt the area), Hyperthyroid or even diabetes. He didn't give Cocoa the injection to help his appetite because he needs to know what's going on first before giving any medications. Results should be back either tomorrow or Thursday and we'll keep you posted. Please keep little Cocoa in your purrrs and purrayers are we all love him so so much. As I'm looking down from Heaven, I could see him napping in bed with Aspen. By the way, Cocoa has been walking around, getting in and out of bed with mom which is better than just moping around and doing nothing. We are all concerned about him and hope that everything is ok *blows kisses*

Just moments ago, meowmy turned on the computer and she saw that I'm today's Daily Diary Pick and she is so overjoyed and so am I, It's always so special when an Angel is honored here on Catster. I'm super excited because my Angel furiends are planning a little celebration pawty fur me but then again, everyday is a pawty here at Rainbow Bridge... I'm also honored that my chosen diary is all about celebrating my 6th month Annifursary here in Heaven. My angel furiends had a yummmy Hello Kitty cake waiting fur me at the pawty hall and we all had so much fun. I just wanted to let all of my dear furiends know how much I love you and miss you that I'll always be watching over you *sprinkles pink angel dust* I have also met so many new and wonderful furiends here and I'm always there at the gates to welcome new Angels, along with Picasso.
I know how difficult and sad it is fur meowmy to visit our Angel pages but I also know that Cassi and I will furever live in mom & dad's hearts and that one day, we'll be with our family again. Well, I better get going because we're planning a big Halloween pawty here at the Bridge, Wishing all of you a wonderful and safe Halloween *blows kisses*

UPDATE ON CALVIN: We have just received sad news at approx 1:15 pm today that our dear furiend, *CALVIN* has made his journey into heaven *wipes eyes* Picasso and I were there to welcome him as he made his arrival. Our thoughts, purrrs & purrayers are with Calvin and his sweet family during this purrry sad and difficult time. Please don't worry Auntie Laura... Picasso and I, along with so many other Angels will take great care of Calvin *crosses paws in silence*
I will continue to send my individual thank you's as soon as I get a chance. Mom has to get ready fur work soon and will be working until 9:00 pm this evening. Late hours fur her, today.
Mom is having a purry difficult time as she's helping me with typing my Diary entry. I could see the tears falling from her eyes but I want fur her to know that I'm ok and that I have met so many beautiful Angel furiends... Angel Picasso has shown me around and has been with me everyday since my arrival on April 21, 2009. I watch mom everyday as she keeps our Urns polished nicely and always kisses her finger and places onto of our name plates and says in a soft voice "I Love You Kashmere & Picasso." It has been so hard fur meowmy after losing Picasso on December 8th, 2008 and then my sudden passing on April 21st, 2009. I was a week shy of my 8th Birthday when I became a beautiful Angel. Mom adopted me from the Animal shelter when I was only 8 weeks of age and she and daddy gave me such a wonderful life. I know that my family feels I was taken too young and I was but those 8 years were the best years of my life and I couldn't have had a more loving family than the one that I was blessed with... I may not be there on Earth, but I am watching over each and everyone of you and love you dearly. I also met a wonderful guy named Bubby during my time on Earth and he will always be my sweetie pie. Just because we are not with our families in person, doesn't mean that we not with them in spirit. Remember... love lives on furever and ever and one day, we will all meet with our loved ones again. This is not a furever good bye, as it's only a temporary parting until that time arrives to be together again *blows kisses*
