Arrival Story: I always considered myself a "dog person" but after my dog passed away in 1997, I could not bring myself to find another. Recently, I mentioned to my sister that I wished that my husband and I had a pet to love, so she brought us Milo from the local shelter. We were worried that we would not know how to raise a cat, but we realized that we are actually "cat people". We are so in love with this cat and do not quite know how we survived without him.

Bio: His previous owner gave him up due to allergies, and I am so thankful that he did. Milo was meant for our hearts.

He is so funny. I am so happy that he is in my life. I cannot imagine living without him. The way he becomes a "Cat hat" at 6:00 am every day for breakfast. The way he greets me at the door when I come home. I live to make him happy.

I recently adopted a kitten that I named Katie. I thought that Milo would be thrilled to have a friend. At first, he was really unhappy, and while he has gotten better, I am still a little worried. I do not want him to feel threatened, and I really worry that he might feel left out. Milo is affectionate for about 3 seconds at a time, or if I have treats or his breakfast/dinner in my hand. Katie however, is extremely loving, and will lay in my lap for as long as I am sitting. When I get up, she follows me begging to be picked up. So, I am afraid that he is going to mistake her actions for mine. Yes, I am spoiling her a bit, and because she allows it. He on the other hand would never lay in my lap for any amount of time. Once they bond I will feel so much better, right now I am a little sick at my stomach. I want them both to be happy.

My life has only gotten better. Milo is truly my heart. I cannot imagine how I lived without him. He is perfection. He rules our home, but lovingly, not in a haughty way. I thank God for him every night.
