Arrival Story:
Gypsy was found in a box with other kittens at about six days old. I bottle fed all of them day and night until they could eat on their own. Gypsy was the runt and I had to force feed him even at such a tiny age. I would weigh him regularly on the postage scale to make sure he was gaining any weight. His head and eyes were way too large for his body and while he did pull through, his skeletal system is a little off in that his shoulder blades are very high and pronounced and his back has always been sway back. He and Boxer looked so much alike for their first several years they were dubbed "The Twins", the only real noticable difference was the swayback for Gypsy and Boxer's eyes are green where Gypsy's are yellow. Of course, being the Mommy Cat I've alway been able to tell them apart. ;-) Gypsy and I bonded very strongly and when someone called to answer the ad for kittens I told them he was no longer available. There was no way in the world I could let this guy go! He has been my constant companion since and I swear he is a little human trapped in a feline body.

Bio:
Gypsy has recenly developed a HyperThyroid which has me very worried about him. His nick-name used to be Puddin'Cat for his girth and now I can practically see through him. He's now more like "BonyButt". He needs medication for the rest of his life to control the thyroid or radiation therapy to destroy it. He is pretty much impossible to pill and doing so completely breaks down our trust bond so I have recently switched to a liquid form of medication which so far I am getting a good result. ::: fingers crossed ::: Please keep us in your prayers. ** Update ** Meds didn't work. Going for radiation therapy August 14th. Please pray for us. Gypsy has lost tons more weight and will not eat now. *** update 10/2006 *** Went for radiation 8/18 and all went well. Weight is up to 9.5# and T4 levels at 2.0!! whooo hooo . I'm a whole new kitty!

Tales of the Gypsy King

I'm a Rockstar!

I just took the Celebrity Cat Quiz. MOL!

Wow, your cat is Mick Jagger!

Mick Jagger
Rock Star

A super-trooper who gathers no moss, Gypsy is rock and roll legend Sir Mick Jagger!

The ePETome of someone who knows how to have a good time, Gypsy is a mover and a shaker, onstage and off. His luck with his lady friends is legendary and Gypsy has obliged many of them by giving them a little shelter. Known for his unique meow, Gypsy relishes his time in the spotlight and loves to let loose and give his audience what they expect. Unable to get satisfaction, he and his pals still paw away at the prize, clinging to the memories of the past as he continues to churn out the hits that made him a leader of the pack.
