Arrival Story:
Per my sister Theresa: A cousin's grandmother's cat had kittens. she and my other sister "anonymous" were not allowed to have a dog (THANK GOD - I dont blame "ma"). They supposedly begged "Ma" to let them have a kitten. They convinced this cousin to bring back one and mom gave in when she saw me of course. She actually got on the floor and played with me. Ask her today to do that and , well, it aint happening. I have to be honest, I was also never socialized properly. That is not my fault because my family used to think I wanted to escape all the time so I am a bit OCD about the front door being closed. Since I have never gone outside I am one TOUGH cat. Let's put it this way, when it comes to meeting people or other animals, advise them to run for their life. I am a SOLID mass of cuteness, but sport a hella mean bite!

Bio:
I was born in PA, but now live in Staten Island New YAWK. It says I live in CT, but that is because my sister's kid Cujo's account is set to that. Believe you me, I don't live there. It aint my thing. When I was living in PA, I actually lived in a garage. My cat-mother "got around". My cat-father looked like Morris the cat from those TV commercials and frequented my mother if you know what I mean! (The lady had 4 litters with this guy so there are about 10 brothers and sisters out there for all I know). My cat-mother was grey and named Bootsie. I have been with my people-mom since I was about 6 weeks old. The vet said I was so tiny that he felt I hadn't weaned properly with enough time. Go figure, my sister Theresa needed to have me THAT MIN so they rip me from cat-mom's teet. Therefore, I had to eat baby rice and milk by spoon for the first week I was living in NY with horrible diarrea. My sister Theresa took care of me though. Back then, I was a skinny lean hot thang, today I am a fatty! That's 'Ma's' fault. She thinks everytime she goes to the cabinet it's treat time. Hey, I dont complain! I actually love my family alot. I have always been very spoiled and the prince of the house. Still am, except when my sister's kid comes to visit and drives me insane. All of a sudden I am finding myself hanging out in the basement alone on the couch.OK, OK, so I am not the nicest to him. He is ANNOYING! During those times I get a visitor here or there out of guilt. Yeah, that's right. I got your number 'anonymous' and you too 'ma'.

Dear Diary,

When I was born I'd have to be honest and say that I didn't have much going for me. I was living in PA, in a garage with 7 of my siblings in a box. My mom and dad did OK for us but chances were high that I would end up living in a field with some ferrets or running around fathering brats all over the state. Rather than that life I ended up spending the next 16 years on a different path I would only have dreamed of. Who would have thought that when my older brother Bootsie's mom plucked me from the litter that I would end up living in NY experiencing the "family life " that any 'stray' would kill for! ? I'm talking the run of the house! Endless Greek olives and Italian Bread. Grade A catnip and not to mention the best darn purple cotton ball in all of NY. (My favorite toy that I had to keep bringing up 3 flights of stairs because everyone THOUGHT I wanted it on the bottom floor!). However, nothing was more special than what ultimately I came to experience as.... 'family'. A real 'people family' where I grew to learn all about unconditional love.

During the last 15 years of my life I never left home or the side of my 'people', until today. I have spent so many years taking care of my 'people' that I would be lying if I said that I were not scared to let go. However, I tried to hold on as long as I could. I was simply tired of fighting. For once I gave in but I went out exactly the way I wanted to. ;)

I was always the independent type when it came to most situations. Though, when it came to my 'people family', I had always been able to rely on them to be close by. Especially my ‘ma’. Therefore it was not a surprise to me when I needed her most that she made sure that I spent my last few days where I wanted to be. At home, with her, on 'my' couch. When I let out my last breath ‘ma' cried to me. I heard every word she said, though I couldn't speak to her. I watched her ache for me as I slipped away but 'ma’ stayed by my side the whole time. She gave me exactly what I would have wanted. She always did. If I could give her something in return it would be able to say 'I love you' and 'thank you’. Thank you for the last 16 years of happiness. Thank you for the last 16 years of love. Thank you for holding me until the end and not letting me cross over all alone. I am not scared anymore.
Love,
Winston

Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats- have never forgotten this.

YAWN... Hello there.

I read online a question that someone posted to a Dr. who was supposed to be helpful. The woman had read an article that debated between cat behaviorists over whether cats have the capacity to love their human companions. Apparently the experts shared that cats are solitary animals and only seek human companionship to fill their physical needs. The woman felt strongly that she felt a bond with her two cats, but was afraid she was fooling herself. She wanted to know if what she was feeling was real or fake. The Dr. went on and on about studies that showed how cats do not know what affection is, and on the other side contradicted himself with how he knows his cat is unlike those others and feels love.

First of all - to the ‘experts’, behaviorists and doctors who study "Cat-ology"- how the heck do you know what it is I feel? Did you somehow discover the meaning to the meow language? Have you spoken recently with a cat that told you our deepest secret of using our human families for the betterment of our lives? I have a question for you - a real question: Do you get paid for what you do? If so, who pays you? I really want to know. I need a new scratch post and think they’d be perfect.

Now - to the lady with the cats. Hopefully you read your own posting and realized by now what an idiot you sound like. However if not - I will help you. YOU ARE AN IDIOT. Of OURSE a cat is able to feel affection! If you think that the love you feel for your cat or vise versa is a figment of YOUR imagination then here is my advice: Prozac or a bridge. Your choice.

Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?

People tend to think that cats are not cognizant of what is going on around them in people-land. You think just because we are 'sleeping' we don't listen to you or peek at you through our 2nd eye lid. Well you are wrong! I have been around a long time now. I tend to sit, some days baking in the sun coming through my window, observing what people refer to as living. I tend to refer to it more like crazy people doing crazy things. I have learned a lot through the years by observing and absorbing from people and other animals. I have always liked to interpret things my way. I am actually referred to as "The Godfather" cat in town due to my wisdom on life. Hey, I still have all 9 of my lives thank you. That tells you something.

During the day when my 'ma' is at work she doesn't know this but I open up shop by the kitchen window. I sit there on the counter and visitor after visitor come by for advice. It's not for free of course so they pay me with things such as yummy flies, chewy treats, and bags of good ol'catnip (premium, not the second rate stuff). I in turn supply them with my words of cat wisdom! Let me tell you, I have heard some juicy stories and recvd some crazy questions. From what I have heard thus far I have to tell you that some people-family members have major issues! Thank goodness they came to the right place for advice! Then of course I also get those occassional DUMB question.

For example, one young kitten came up to me all frantic and said "Godfather W, why is it that cat food does not come in mouse flavor? How will we survive when the mice are extinct!?". First I slapped him upside the head with my paw and told him to pull himself together. Then I explained to him that the whole Cat/Mouse thing is over rated. I said "Kid, you are young. You are watching way too much Tom & Jerry. Cats do not eat mice. We eat liver pate', Fancy feast meals, and 9Lives (when the check book gets tight). Mice are not REAL FOOD. Why are you stressing over this? Now go home and sniff some of this special catnip and take a short nap - 5 hours or so. You will forget that you came here to ask this question!". I then let him kiss my paw and after he thanked me over and over. Watched him as he pranced on his way with his tail swaying in the wind.

I love the kitts today, don't you?
