Bio:
Hi, My name is Squeaker. I am a happy, healthy fat cat that enjoys eating everything Cathy does. I beg all the time until I get what I want, otherwise I'm practically on her plate. When she's not home I take all the blankets off the bed and chairs and throw them all over the floor. She knows what I do with them but I'm not allowed to talk about it. When I'm not doing the unmentionable I am playing with my live-in friend Phoebe. She's a pain and takes up a lot of Cathy's attention but I still get mine. I greet Cathy and Chris at the door every night when they come home and I wake Cathy up in the morning. If my food dish is empty I cry until it is filled. Who says you can't train a human!! When I'm thirsty and the water in my dish is about an hour old, I try and spill it so Cathy will fill it up again. I am a great escape artist and have been since I was born, that's probably one reason I was alone at the golf course in the first place. I am a country cat but recently moved to DC and am trying to get used to it. I haven't gotten outside yet but I will!!! Cathy takes me out on a leash. I am harness trained and I love to be in it. I jump right up when she gets it out and practically put it on myself. In my spare time I love to visit people and the vet. The only problem is I hate car rides. That Cathy is a crazy driver especially on back country roads!

The Rat!!

Well.....the title says it all. I have this habit of sitting next to the front door. I like to sit there on the off chance that someone will let me out and I can roam free. Cathy doesn't let me out though, she's on the ball usually, except for one day. She was coming home and I had been watching this rat all day long. I'm not used to rats, where I come from there's only field mice. So being in the city I see stray cats and rats all the time. Well she was walking in the door and her hands were full so I thought great, here's my chance. As soon as she walked in the door I ran past her and out the door I went. It just so happens that rat was still there too. I snuck up behind it and grabbed it right behind the neck. I was so excited...I got it!!!! Well, Cathy wasn't too excited about it because she grabbed me by the cuff of the neck and picked me up but I still had the rat in my mouth so she started shaking me and I started growling. I wanted that rat darn it!!!! So as she was shaking me and I was growling, the rat was squealing. Finally I had to let the rat go because the pain of her holding me made me release the rat. Well the rat started running for the door to go inside. I was hoping it would but Cathy got in its way and it ran off into the weeds. I was so mad... I almost had it. I think Cathy was mad too, but I don't know why??? I was just trying to do my job. After that Cathy kept close watch over me to make sure i wasn't sick. I guess those things carry diseases but I'm still gonna try to get one!!!
Til next time

Summer Time!!!

I love the summer. Cathy takes me out on the leash and I get to roll around in the grass and get all dirty. We live in the city so I can't be let loose. Actually she's never let me roam around outside by myself. I guess she thinks i'll run away. I mean I might for a little while but I'd be back. Those things on wheels scare me though. The sound makes me jump!!

The windows are open and I get to lay in them. I love that!! There's lots of birds because Chris put a bird feeder out by the window. What torture!!! I can only watch them get closer and closer to the window but I can't get at them. I think he just did it for entertainment because Pheobe and I make weird noises when we see things. In any case, it's a lot better than the winter time!!

The Rectal Thermometer!

Dear Diary,
On Saturday I had to go to the vet. I don't usually mind going because I like people and I've never had a bad experience until now. Well Phoebe went with me to get her last booster shot and I needed a check up and some shots too. So she was first and everything went smoothly for her so I thought I was good to go. Well the nurse took my temperature with an ear thermometer and I guess it was a little high so she wanted to try the rectal thermometer. I didn't hear her say that but boy I felt it. What the heck! I started growling and hissing and my eyes felt like they were going to pop out of my head. I was trying to tell her to get it out of there. I was so mad at Cathy because all she did was try to hold me still and make me take it. The worst part was that my grandmother was with me.....How embarassing!!! I never want to go back there again. Luckily I have a year before i have to return to that god awful place. After we got home Cathy gave me some catnip so I forgave her, for now!!!
