Arrival Story:
a friend of mine works at a local college in maintenance...a feral cat came on campus and had 4 kittens. my friend was feeding them kind of looking after them for just about 5-6 mos. and some of the guys that work there decided to use them as TARGET practice! ....well she kind of freaked out because these guys, sad to say, WOULD do that....so she and 2 other friends of mine, live trapped them, took them to the vet and had them spayed and overall vetted(worms earmites fleas...the whole nine yards) and one of those 2 wonderful womyn kept ALL of the kitties in her spare room 'til they found them all good homes. the other one of those two womyn was helping the first woman to care for them, while she had them in her spare bedroom, and SHE asked me to come see them as she knows i love animals. i ABSOLUTELY had NO plan to get a cat...i had 2 cats, that had passed away at 18 and 17 yrs. old and i just hadn't contemplated it for quite a while. needless to say...i went to see them and there she was...actually she was under the bed peeki' out...all the others were out and the mom was very friendly...the mom was an orange tabby short hair...the 2 brothers were long-haired orange tabbies and the other sister was a tortie and then there was my Shy-AnnaMae...she was the smallest one (besides mom) and she was a long-haired black and brown tabby...and the most shy/paranoid one of the bunch! i visited her several times at my friend's place that kept them in her spare room...and i only saw her under the bed...peeking out...but there was something about her eyes...which was all i saw of her for about the 1st three times i visited her...she just called to me. i didn't mention to my friend that i might take her after seeing her the first time ...but that night i woke up dreaming of her! ...and i knew she was for me...she was so shy...that when i took her home she didn't come out of the carrier for 8 hrs. and didn't use the litter box for 3 days!...for 1 and a half months she lived under my futon bed and i only saw her if i hid behind the door and waited after i put out the canned food in the morning...oh but she was so beautiful! sooo, i told her i would love her on her terms and when SHE was ready i would get to touch her and see all of her...when she first came she had a silent meow due to all of the kittens having an upper respiratory infection too...now she has the most sweet feminine meow and she knows how to use it! now she is all over the house and still shy when folx come over but is totally comfortable with her home!

Bio:
i LOVE this cat! she has come to love my old blue heeler dog and is a GREAT pal to my 3 ferrets, whom she loves to play with everyday when they get their 'out of cage' time. she also has to monitor all bathroom activities and MUST watch to see that all is gone when you flush! she sleeps on the bed with me and the dog and she plays with my feet under the covers every night for about 5 minutes before we all go to sleep...she has 'old soul' eyes that go straight to my heart!.... may she live forever!
