Pet-Peeves: Humans other than Momma and Sister (but this is getting better as she gets older!!), except she did sniff her human brother Mike's head once while he was sleeping, the vacuum, being brushed
Favorite Toy: fake rats, the ball in the circle track (she's got mad skills), the mini flying disc, the Hedgehog Teaser Wand, and Sassy
Favorite Nap Spot: next to Sassy, in her bed in Sister's room which is set up really high so she has a view
Favorite Food: Nutro dry, Nature's Balance canned, the occasional chewy beef stick thing
Skills: doing the plastic ball on the track thing, catching bugs, being a watch cat, really good at Fetch, can "sit" on command and she does another trick where she hops up and bumps her head on your hand like a dolphin

Arrival Story: Polka Dot was living in the disgustingly filthy basement of a woman that was "collecting" feral cats. She was rescued at five weeks with a respiratory infection, but is great now! She has the funniest personality and always keeps us laughing:) She copies everything Sassy does. They are always sitting and laying in the exact same position next to each other. Sometimes we think she is pretending to be a detective...she has to investigate everything and she gets in to everything.
Bio: Polka Dot is getting braver and more sociable with humans as she gets older, which may be due in part to the Feliway Diffusers we now have plugged in. She is not nearly as timid as she was as a kitten. She has started acting more dog-like in the last year for some reason (since she learned her tricks!!)

My good pal Binks, a fellow poetcat, wrote me this poem fur my birthday. I was stunned.
"In my heart I have a spot
That has the label, "Polka Dot".
It's not for spotty little toys and things
Or speckled robin's eggs or silly strings.
It's for a birthday cat of a special type,
Who is sweet and smart and black & white.
She's Diego's girl and my good friend.
We'll watch "Lost" together 'till the end.
She always brings a smile to my day.

I am a pretty lucky girl to have a pal who would write that fur me!!!
Today was my birthday! I spent a quiet relaxing day with Sassafras and my hoomin sister. Actually, the day did not start off too quiet. At the crack of dawn this morning Sassy woke up the whole house by knocking a large potted plant off the top of a cupboard and it crashed. So my morning started off with lots of vacuuming and cursing. Then I found out that one of the hoomins had replaced my round cardboard scratcher in my beloved roller ball track, so I clawed my way to China and showed off my roller ball skillz in the kitchen. It was also very loud.
Then things quieted down and it was warm enough to open windows. I spied on our neighbors fur a little while, then I took a nap with Sassy. I got the most furtastical birthday surprise this year, too. My Diego and his Mommy had Morgan the Pirate Gato send me a very cozy and beautiful polka dotted bed!!! It is great, and it even came with a special party bag with pirate toys and pipe cleaners and a ball and mice and treats!!! Oh MY!! There was balloon wrapping paper and a cake card with a special message. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Diego!!!
So I am nine now. Getting older really gets you thinking about things. When I furst came home with my hoomins they wanted to name me Pokey, but I was too energetic so they changed it to Polka Dot. Mommy said that I would be "Pokey" when I got older. Today my hoomins were shocked to realize I am now very much a Pokey. I have come up with a list of five things I would like to do before I turn 12.
1. Really inspect the inside of the fridge. What is in there? Why?
2. Pee in the coat closet. I have never ever in my whole life gone outisde the box. I would just like to try it once. Phoebe seems to like it, and they would never find it in the coat closet.
3. Travel to Portland, Oregon. It *would* be nice to meet my boy Diego in purrrson. hee hee!
4. Learn to use the can opener. I think you all know what I mean.
5. Do the Caterpillar.
What would your lists say? I would love it if anykitty pawmailed their lists to me.
I guess that is all fur today. I would like to say Thank You to all the kitties who sent me birthday wishies and rosettes and efurrything, it was so much fun!!
