Arrival Story: She was at the animal hospital next door for about 6 months before I decided to take her. She was left at the animal hospital to be euthanized because she was "peeing" in the house(which she hasn't done once since I've had her), but the vet tech, Laura, and the Dr wouldn't do it. Laura took very good care of Sadie at the animal hospital but after a couple of months the Dr decided it wasnt fair to keep her in a cage(even with all Laura's love!)any longer. She now lives in my room(she would be all over the house, but Tank would be very upset. Sarge really doesn't care.)
Bio: She has many favorite places in my room. She first liked to hide under the bed, then liked to lay on a box, then in the window, then on my dresser, and now under the bed and on the bed. She is a very petite and boney cat. You can feel almost every bone in her body((she does eat, it's just her old age)). Once she gets used to you she is a very sweet cat. She tends to yowl at night every so often. She does throw up, but we have been giving her medicine to help prevent it. She was declawed from her past owners.

1/6/06 - We found Sadie on her side in my room last night, unable to get up. She was very cold and couldn't seem to use her back legs well. We gave her fresh food and water. She ate, and then went to the bathroom without any assistence, but when she came back out she just lay down right in the middle of the room, which was very odd for her. My mom got a big dog bed from downstairs for her to lay on and a small bed to put under mine(as that is where she likes to sleep, etc). Today she went nextdoor to the vet to get fluids, etc. She is VERY weak right now, and we're not sure how much longer she'll be with us...

1/9/06 - Sadie passed away today at the age of 18. :( She is deeply missed and will NEVER be forgotten. Her kidneys had stopped working.

Sadie,
You came to the animal hospital to be put down. You were 17-18 but perfectly healthy, so the vets would not do it. You were at the animal hospital for half a year before I convinced my mom to let me take her home. You'd only be staying in my room so Tank wouldn't be bothered. Sadie, you hid under the bed at first, unsure about this new place. After a while you warmed up to us and let us give you your medicine without a fight. You'd lay in the window to feel the cool breeze and would lay on your box at night. And then...one day my mom went into my room and couldn't find Sadie. When she found her she was curled up in the corner of my room, freezing. You couldn't use your back legs so I stayed with you for a while with a blanket. You were such a good girl and would even gather up enough strength to get to the litter box. You soon passed away.. You lived a nice long life and instead of having to spend your last year in a cage, you were able to spend it with me. =) We all love and miss you Sadie!
Love,
Mom
