Arrival Story:
When we bought our first house in 2002, we told a local rescuer that we could now foster. We brought home "the six-pack", a litter of six whose mom had been killed when they were only three weeks old. Athene was one of these kittens -- the only gray one. Her personality sparkled from day one. I had always wanted a gray cat, and decided we would keep her. It turned out we kept all six of the kittens because my husband could not bear to give them up. See her siblings on other pages.

Bio:
Littermates in the six-pack are: Ancho, Cara Mia, Java, Lily and Smudge. Athene is a commanding presence -- she is the second-smallest cat in the house, but she rules. She is very intelligent, very curious, and always busy. She is a superb housemate.
