Arrival Story:
We found Callie in Cashiers, North Carolina November 2004. We were there shopping in the quaint little shops and antique stores. One of the stores helped a local shelter by bringing cats to the store to try and get them adopted. We spotted her in her cage and I immediately fell for her! (I'm such a sucker for torties!!!) She had been there since April. The stores were coming into their slow season and she was to be sent back to the shelter by December if noone had adopted her by then. I knew I really didn't need to take another kitty home, but I just couldn't stand the thought of her being all alone and cooped up in that cage for soooo many months + the thought she'd have to go back to the shelter! I begged my husband and finally wore him down (hee hee hee) to agree that I could leave my name & number and IF she wasn't gone by December they could call me. Wellllllllll, I don't think he thought they would ACTUALLY call. But guess what? They did. He stuck to his word (reluctantly I might add) and we went and picked her up the following weekend. She is the funniest little cat. Round all over. Very vocal and quite entertaining. My husband will tell you he doesn't like having another cat, but can be caught holding her when he thinks noone is around! :)
