Arrival Story:
Alice was adopted from my vet. She was born in a barn in October and had two sisters, a tortie and a white cat with orange spots and were given to the vet when they were only a few weeks old. She got to come to her new home when she was 8 weeks old and immediately took over the place. Toby always took good care of Alice, prompting my 3-year-old niece to say, "Toby is a mom to that little cat." (No reflection on Toby's masculinity.) In the months since Toby went to the bridge, Alice sometimes cries for him at night.

Bio:
When she was younger, any high place was the place for Alice...on top of doors, on top of the kitchen cabinets...looking down at lower forms of life. She is the most talkative cat in the family, and often decides to express herself shortly after the human has gone to bed.

Update:
On April 17, 2008, Alice had a lump on her back removed, which was found to be a fibrosarcoma. It appears the vet got all of it, and Alice recovered very quickly from the surgery, but we will be very carefully watching for regrowth of the tumor. Thank you to everyone who has been purring for Alice!
