Leave a treat for Cisco

Nicknames: fatty, fat bastard, fatty mcfatterson, buddy

Quick Bio:

Pet-Peeves: being chased/sniffed/licked/walked too close to by the dogs

Favorite Toy: most recently, a tennis ball, and the birdy that hangs from the door

Favorite Nap Spot: on my cat tower by the windowsill in my room or on comfy chair

Favorite Food: umm, any? if forced to choose, salmon treats

Skills: i am a dog and a cat at the same time and i can stick my tongue out and leave it out for long periods of time

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: dave is actually my dad. he's a friend of jen, who takes care of me. she said dad moved into a house where i wasn't allowed to stay, so i will live with her until he moves. it was hard when i first came here and had to leave my dad, but he comes to visit and jen is a really good foster mom. plus i have my buddy neyla to hang out with when she's at work and all these different dogs come and go that i get to terrorize.

Bio: cisco is a real pain in the ass - if you went by his personality alone, you'd think he's a cross between a dog and a bengal cat. if he isn't drinking out of the dog bowls, beating up on the dogs, sleeping on the dog bed, chewing on a dog bone, or playing with the dog's tennis balls, then he's in the shower with you, bugging you while you wash your face or brush your teeth, racing around the condo, or otherwise getting into trouble.
cisco does have a softer side. he's an extremely affectionate cat who likes to be with his people or his minions (also known as greyhounds), when they're respectful of his space. some cats are so independant it's tough to get them in your lap - not cisco. when cisco wants to cuddle, he means business. cuddling includes wrapping his arms around your neck, combing your hair with his claws and grooming you excessively.
it's been an adjustment for everyone, but cisco has become a welcome addition to our home (and we're happy to report that he went from about 18 pounds to around 13 since he's been with us).

Well in case you were wondering, I'm still living with Jen. I stayed with dad for a little while a few months ago, something about the plumbing being replaced, but now I'm back. I guess I'm staying here for a while, which is cool with me. Jen just cleaned out my room and got me a new bed. It's huge, she calls it a futon. I don't really care what's it's called as long as it's mine mine mine.
Anyway, there is one problem, Jen just decided to keep ANOTHER foster. So far I don't think he's as cool as Neyla. He runs around a lot and is always rooting through one of my favorite sleeping spots (see the picture of me in the laundry pile). But I guess when I think about it, I didn't like Neyla all that much at first and she's cool, so I'll just have to get used to this guy too. At least he doesn't pay much attention to me so I don't have to correct him that often. As much as I love doing that, it does get tiring after a while.
Ok, well, time for a quick groom and then it's naptime.

At least for now. Jen told dad that I could stay as long as he wanted. Since he's still getting unpacked and stuff, he thought it made sense for me to stay here for a while. So we're all still a big happy family.
I think I'm finally feeling a bit more secure too. I spend more time by myself in the evenings and only snuggle up when we go to bed. Jen LOVES it when I do this. She pretends like she's trying to sleep and keeps rolling away from me, but I just climb over her and start pawing at her and licking her to get her to pet me because I know she wants to. It's great!

So I live with Jen and Neyla b/c daddy moved into a house where I couldn't stay. I don't know why but some people don't like cats in their houses. They think we stink or something (they've clearly never sniffed butts with Neyla!). Anyway, daddy just bought a house, which Jen said meant I would have to go live with him again, but I really like it here. Of course, I miss my dad so I feel very torn about where I want to be, but for now I'm mostly afraid of change. In light of that, I figured I better do everything possible to make Jen want me here. The newest thing I do that she really seems to like is this:
At bedtime, once Jen is snuggled up under the covers, I come and paw at the blanket by her face. She lifts up the covers and I get under, turn around and curl into a ball against her. She puts her arm around me and puts the covers back down and we go to sleep. It's nice and toasty in there. Stay tuned to see if it works...
