I volunter for the Michigan Cat Rescue and Honeybunny's story tore my heart out. at 4 months she had been run over by a car that never stopped, drug herself off the highway past two guard dogs into a towing office. The owner of the company came out to see why some kids were taunting and saw the small bleeding and broken kitten. He contacted the local vet who happened to know the presient of the MI Cat Rescue and it was agreed they would try to save the little one. Once in x-ray it was discovered that at some point the kitten had been previously hit. It was too late to fix the badly healed back left leg but they did shave down the bone to make it a little better, then they reset her crushed right hind leg and put a screw in her hip and a pin 5" long into her leg. Since then Honeybunny fought off succumbing to an infection and then a hernia the length of her body came to light about 8 weeks after her leg surgery . She went back under the knife just in time, her bladder was about to burst and she never complained, ever. She never let on about her pain. She broke the first hernia surgery open again and head to have another to sew it with steel wire. Since I've had 22 surgeries and have several screws in my knees and feet I felt a kinship and understanding of what this little one has gone through. I've been sponsoring her in foster care to make sure her vet bills are covered and I hope to have her in my arms (she's already in my heart) in time for my birthday the 21st of May. She deserves to have all the love and care I can give. She's special!
Bio:
On 6-18-05 After Honeybunny's surgery (6-7-05) to remove her leg pin and to redo her hernia with surgical steel I brought her home! She's been the sweetest kittek, although she's almost full grown now. I've been waiting for her since February/March and her injuries kept setting her back, but she has pulled through some very tough times. I still cannot believe she is actually home with me, I though I might lose her several times before she ever got to come home. Nancy Hutchinson of the Michigan Cat Rescue has just been an angel taking care Honeybunny. SHe was injured so badly that most rescues would not have taken her in due to the high medical bills and the uncertain outcome. This little miracle has survived with such a sweet attitude, never showing pain, always talking and purring. She has also brought two friends together! I an honored to be able to be the guardian of this precious little package.

Mom keeps mentioning "girl Power" when the new "kid" L-il Bear comes around me. Don't know why yet...I have not decideif I lke her or not. I guess she will be ok once she learns her place beneath my pedestal. A few slaps and hisses should keep her in her place. THEN maybe we can talk about an alliance-her as my servant, of course! Mom better not get any ideas that this little scrappy thing is anywhere NEAR my stature in this Household/Kingdom!

Ooooohhhh! Mommy jsut realized that I, the PRECIOUS PRINCESS, SWEET HONEYBUNNY, made my diary debut on Sunday, May 27th and mommy wasn't able to appreciate it! She took a break form the computer for the Holiday weekend. It figures...my call to STARDOM and mommy missed it!!!
Oh well, I AM a star no matter what! And I KNOW mommy luvs me tons! >^..^

My brother, Meiuxy, is an assie! He chases me all the time and has been attacking me once he has me cornered. I didn't even provoke him, I swear! Mommy was really scared he would actually hurt me so he got the "bad room"! Ha, Ha!
I actually prefer it when all the boys are locked up in the "cat room" and I get the whole rest o fhte house to myself every night! Mommy sez I should be an only kitty cuz I get really playful and silly once all the guys are locked up. It's just that I'm over-protective of my legs after being run over and having so many surgeries adn being crated for so long while healing before I got adopted by mommy. I just don't want anyone to chase me or bother me, but I do like to chase them! I'm a princess and I dictate what happens and with whom...so there!
