Arrival Story:
When I was in high school, I really wanted to get a cat or a dog. My mother and brother have pet allergies, but we heard about Devon Rexes, which most allergy sufferers can live with because they have such little hair. I found an ad in the newspaper from a lady who was selling her Devon Rex because she traveled too much. We bought him from her when he was about two. I immediately fell in love with Taz, and have adored him since then, through sickness and health.

Bio:
Soon after we brought Taz home, he started throwing up everything he ate. He was diagnosed with IBS after many tests and hospitalizations. Now he eats four small meals a day of duck and green peas since he was suffereing from allergies to other foods. He is doing so much better, but will never be a fat cat! He adores eating and will meow incessantly fifteen minutes before he knows he is going to get fed.

A Day in the Life of Taz

It's my birthday!

Today is the big day! My mom can't believe I am 11 years old. She hopes I live for at least another 11. I am not a big party-cat. No cat friends will be visiting, and since I never play with toys (even catnip has no effect on me) I probably won't be receiving many gifts. Last year I got an awesome fleece cat sized sleeping bag which I love to nap in when the sun isn't out. The most I can hope for today is for all four meals to be served on time with extra big portions.
It is super hot and muggy today, perfect weather. I will probably spend the day searching out the sunniest windows so I can be as hot as possible. My mom complains about the heat, and I don't know what her problem is. It feels so good after being so cold all winter long.
I am fairly baldy for a kitty but I have been growing more hair lately. I seem to get more of a coat in summer, maybe to protect me from the sun. It seems the opposite of most cats I know. I wonder if other devon rexes have that too.
I better get moving to the kitchen to see if I can mooch a snack out of anyone!
