Arrival Story: I figured that with Logan and Kali I had my hands full and needed no more kitties! Then one day I was at Petcetera buying litter, and I saw Luce. She was in the SPCA-sponsored in-store adoption room with a bunch of other homeless kitties. She's very, very, very, cute you see, and She cried and cried at me. I was so endeared that I held her and asked about her. I found out that she was a special needs kitten, and they were having trouble finding someone to adopt her..pretty soon I was filling out an adoption form (I had a lot of explaining to do to the spouse when I got home)! A few days later, the application was approved, and we brought Goose home with us. For the first week she came absolutely everywhere with us, as she was terrified to be alone. She rode in the car in a box on my lap, slept in my sweatshirt at Starbucks, and curled up on my lap at work.

Bio: Life started off pretty hard for Goose. The nice people at the SPCA found her dying in the street when she was about 3 weeks old- She had been starved and abused. Luckily she escaped, and was rescued. As a result of her rough start, she has some brain-damage (due to being kicked in the head), and she can't hear very well. She came to live with us when she was about 3 months old, and she hasn't grown much since. Most people think she's still a baby, even though she's an adult now. Also, her vocal cords have been damaged, so she has the cutest little squeak (like a mouse) and she likes to squeak ALOT- "Hello Mommy, how are you doing? Remember me? Lucy! Play with me! Please? Oh, and don't look in the laundry basket..." That's the other thing. Luce never litter trained, and she pees everywhere. *shrugs* She just doesn't understand litterboxes, which can definitely get frustrating, but she's so adorable that we live with it. Lucy is almost always referred to as "The Goose" because she's a silly goose. She's painfully, painfully shy and if we have visitors she will hide the entire time they are there, not even coming out for treats. She's very cuddly and snuggles with absolutely everyone- us humans, her brother and sister, and Emma the dog. One more oddity about Goose is that she is constantly trying to nurse. She'll grab onto my fingers with both paws and suck like a kitten. This is probably the cutest thing ever. EVER.
