Arrival Story:
I was volunteering at Pets in Need in Redwood City when I met Zira. Abandoned by her people and separated from her daughter, she was very, very depressed. She was very withdrawn and wasn't eating. To make matters worse, a gigantic boy cat was bullying her. I couldn't stand to see her so unhappy, so I brought her home. Everyone says how pretty she is, being a "muted tortie" with a two-colored nose and two-colored lips. She also has the biggest, most beautiful blue eyes ever. Don't let her innocent look fool you, though. She once plotted for months against her brothers and finally took the perfect revenge: she pooped in their food dish.

Bio:
Even though I saved her and I feed her, she only really loves her daddy. She listens to heavy metal with him and rocks out. Since we moved she's been living with her grandpa, recently retired. They have been SO good for each other. She keeps him in line and has the run of the whole house. She's so much happier now that she's away from those stinky awful boys.

Goodbye, sweet girl:
Zira left us today, 4/16/2008. She brought such love into our lives and she will be missed terribly. She made cat people out of people who never dreamed they'd be cat people. She looked after all of us, and I know she always will.
