Likes:
Lily loves to be petted while she eats. She will lead you to her food dish. She also likes her belly rubbed and will lay on her back, waiting, until satisfied. (She has been known to doze off while waiting.)

Pet-Peeves:
Other cats outside the house. These are her biggest threats and she will scare them off by bravely huffing at the windows until they run away in terror.

Favorite Toy:
Water

Favorite Nap Spot:
In her rocking chair by the window. Or, if a nap-attack occurs, anywhere she can flop on her back.

Favorite Food:
Tuna is a treat. She comes running when she hears the can opener! She likes to lick kidney beans until they are dead.

Skills:
Lily protects us from household evils. She sits in the sink and waits for the water to be turned on so she can test it for human-destroying agents. She kills the evil Q-Tips and leaves their bodies in the upstairs hall. She shreads the evil kleenix.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
We adopted Lily the same day we adopted Chester, from our local ASPCA shelter. They are not related, but she fully believes that Chester is her brother, and treats him as such. She was brought to the shelter with her mother when she was only two months old. Her Mom was adopted three days before we found her, so she was more than ready for a permanent home. Lily is an extremely friendly and curious cat, which has caused her to use up a few of her 9 lives. In her short four years she has broken her leg (when she was only 6 months old!) by jumping at a toy. She has been trapped in the refrigerator, closed between the front door and screen door, and fallen through a drop ceiling, all to Chester's amazement and amusement. Now that she's all grown up, she has learned to channel her energy into more useful things. She is our gaurdian. We no longer need to fear the dangers of water coming out of the faucet, stray cats outside the house, paper coming out of the computer printer, or bats flying out of the pocket doors. She is constantly on duty, and, amazingly, she can sometimes perform these tasks with her eyes closed! Lily is Chester's best friend and our bundle of energetic joy!
