Yesterday was my birthday, and I really want to thank all of my friends who helped me (and my brothers whose birthdays were also yesterday) celebrate. I got lots of presents:

A ball from Frankie, Grace, Leo and family;
A shrimp from the Bush Furs;
A singing blue bird from Nonny and family;
A ladybug from Emily (my brother Bobby's girlfriend) and her family;
A second blue bird from Daisy, Pete, and the whole family;
A golden heart from Tyson, Mista, Fred, Tazi Moto, Mai Ming, Simba and their family;
A cuppycake from Greyson;
A great big cake from my girlfriend, Vi;
and lots of "Happy Birthdays" from all my group friends.

My brothers and I were thinking last night during our birthday dinner how different our birthdays are now from what they were three years ago. Our Mommy had been visiting Catster for years. She visited some cats' pages almost daily to read their diaries and see their pictures. She followed new cats who joined, and then, she finally gathered her courage and the little bit of puter knowledge she had and added us. WOW!! Did our lives change. All of a sudden, we had FRIENDS! It wasn't just our pawrents and us -- there was a whole caring community of cats to be our friends and to help us celebrate our birthdays and other holidays and to purr for us when we weren't feelin well. We met our awesome girlfriends and found true love (Love you, Vi).

Guess I just wanted to take this opportunity to say how much I appreciate everycat's friendship and Catster for bringing us together. Sure changed our lives!

You'll recall that when Bobby, Teddy and I chose our housekeepers, we called them Mr. & Mrs. H (for Housekeeper). They were more than adequate in their positions, and we decided we made a good choice when we allowed them to live with us.

It wasn't too long before Teddy was totally smitten by Mrs. H and started calling her "Mommy." Then, Bobby casually began dropping a "My Daddy" into our conversations. I thought how silly they were -- humans weren't our pawrents.

I've lived with the H's for over seven years now and since last fall when Mrs. H retired, they have been around our house a lot more. At first, we were all unsettled because they disrupted our routine. But then we began following Mrs. H around all day cause she was always doing interesting things and really needed our help. And Mr. H -- well, I began to notice how much he really does for us. We always have plenty of food; our litter boxes are always clean and never smell bad; he plays with us; and he provides a lap when Mrs. H isn't available.

Yesterday, Mrs. H was sitting on the sofa reading, and I was laying on top of the sofa cushion behind her head. I don't know what overcame me but all of a sudden I wrapped my front legs around her neck, put my head next to her ear and purred. She turned her head and gave me a kiss and I thought "My Mommy." Mommy told Mr. H I was actually purring -- a surprise since I'm not a purrer.

So, I've surrendered and have decided that having a Mommy and Daddy who love me is much better than having just housekeepers. I now think humans make great pawrents!

Got to run -- Daddy's lap is calling my name!

I've been tagged by my very good friend Greyson.

Here is what I am supposed to do.

Name the 5 most annoying things your human does, then tag 5 friends. Here's a few of my Human Pet Peeves....

Oh, my, this is hard. I'm so laid back and happy that I really don't have any pet peeves, but I'll try.

1. I would prefer that when Mr. or Mrs. H sat down, they would stay put. I am a bit put off when I get all situated on a lap and comfy for a long nap and then someone makes me move so they can stand up. I will say, though, that Mrs. H is very considerate. If she wants to get up, she picks me up and then puts me down where she was sitting.

2. I wish they had more time to play with me. We get at least an hour a day (1/2 hr from each of them), but I would play all day, every day, if I could.

4. I wish they would have people come to fix more things around the house. They know how I love to help the repairmen, even though sometimes they don't seem to appreciate my help.

5. ....

Gosh, I can't think of anything else. I have it pretty good at my house, and unlike my whiny brothers, I know it!

Let's see -- who hasn't played this game yet?

by Platelicker, to answer a few questions so ... here goes!

1. Do you ever wake your parent up in the night?

No, I'm always happy to sleep with them as long as they want. But sometimes, they very rudely wake me up!! I'm all cozy and warm laying between them up against Mrs. H's back and one of them will get up and disturb ME! I just get back to sleep and Mr. or Mrs. H returns and tries to get back into bed. Don't they realize that I am happy to have more room when they leave and stretch out into the vacant space. To add insult to injury, they pick me up and move me around -- have you ever heard of such a thing?

2. Do you ever tear up things?

No, I'm a good kitty. The only thing I have torn up is the lower part of our condo. But I had lots of help -- we all scratch and stretch on it.

3. What's your favorite treat?

I love love love chicken and freshly grilled salmon. If they're not available, I like the western flavor of Party Mix.

4. Can you fetch something when asked to do so?

Once I have it, why would I want to give it back to anyone? I want to PLAY with it.

5. Have you ever lived any place other than where you live ?

I was born at my Vet's office. When my cat mom found a forever home, my sister, Jill, and I went to live with a foster father because our Vet had too many cats living at her office until they found permanent homes. I don't remember much about him, but he gave Jill and me our names. Then one day, Jill was gone -- to her forever home. When I was about four months old, I went back to live at the Vet's so someone would see me and take me home with them. I don't remember much about my foster father, but he must have been a very nice man because I like everyone, love to play, like other cats and am very social. I was about seven months old when Mr. & Mrs. H adopted me and my brothers, Bobby and Teddy. They were only going to adopt Bobby and Teddy, but I crawled into Mrs. H's purse to convince them to take me too.

Now, I need to find some friends to tag.

Thanks for the tag, Colorado.

1. Do you have a valentine?... if so... who?
No, I don't. I've sort of decided it's the single life for me.

2. if not... do you wish you did? ... is there anyone particular?... No, even though I do have a lot of friends who are girls.

3.What's your favorite love song?... who sings it?
Never paid attention -- just don't need one.

4.what would be a perfect valentines day for you? Getting Mr. & Mrs. H to play with me all day, and when they got too tired, teasing my brothers into chasing me.

Greyson and Athena got married today at the Church at Purrs-n-Woofs Village. It was a beautiful and joyous occasion. I was the Best Cat, and my brothers, Bobby and Teddy, were groomscats. Greyson's legs only buckled once, but we were there to support him. All of their friends were there to wish them well and to see them start their lives together. They met on Catster -- at the Cat's Meow -- while playing the Dating Thread. Who would have thought the game would have led to marriage.

I wish you the best life has to offer, Greyson and Athena. Congratulations!

I was minding my own business -- sitting in front of the Big Window watching a squirrel. All of a sudden, there's a loud bang and Teddy jumped off His Table. Then, Bobby comes running at us with blood in his eye. I jumped up on our House to get out of the fray, and Bobby took off after a retreating Teddy. All over the house they went, with Mrs. H right after them. Mr. H finally got Bobby to stop, and I thought it was all over. But, no, Bobby jumped Teddy again! This time, Mr. H grabbed Bobby and put him in the Little Room. Now, he's in there just crying away, and Teddy is shaking on His Mommy's lap.

I just don't understand those two -- brothers shouldn't act like that! Poor Teddy didn't do anything bad, but Bobby really got into trouble. I wonder how long Mr. H will make him stay there all by himself?

It's a Halloween tag game. I am supposed list five things I like about Halloween and then tag six friends.

1.) I love the Fall colors of Halloween. They are so complimentary to my coat.

2.) I love to have little people come to my door and pet me -- especially my little friend from next door, Sophie.

3.) I love the extra heat from the candles -- it's getting cold out.

4.) I love that Mrs. H is cooking treats because I like to help in the kitchen.

5.) I love the Halloween decorations in my house -- especially the scarecrows. They are stuffed with straw which is quite tasty.

I am starting a campaign. You all know Calvin (No. 283044) (Sorry, I have an assistant who doesn't know anything). Well, Calvin needs to gain some weight. Now, I know that there are a lot of cats on Catster whose vets don't understand that they are just big boned and all muscle. Those vets want them to lose weight. So, the solution -- I want all the cats with extra weight to send some of it to Calvin. This will be of mutal benefit to everyone. The big cats can trim-down, and Calvin can beef-up! Doesn't that sound like a good idea. Also, when you are packing up that weight to send, put in some extra purrs as well. Calvin needs all our help to NEVER GIVE UP!

The VET doesn't know why I've lost weight and said it might just be the summer heat. She told Mr. & Mrs. H just to watch me and my activity level and general behavior for any changes. Also suggested giving me a few extra TREATS during the day -- YEAH, that's the kind of medicine I like. See, I told Mrs. H I was fine and she didn't need to worry, but did she believe me. No, of course not -- preferred to worry and fret. I do believe I might have garnered a few extra pets and caused her to sit still a bit longer to provide me with a lap.
Last week, I got bundled up and taken to the VET's office to get a manicure. (I know -- not a very manly thing to do, but Mr. & Mrs. H insisted). I always get plopped on the scale, get the light in the eyes and ears, the finger in the mouth to check my teeth and throat, and the thermometer in the (well -- you know where) -- the indignity of it all) as well as the manicure -- that Tech is nothing if not thorough. After we got home, the VET Lady herself called. She was checking over my chart and the Tech's notes (like she does all kitties who come in whom she doesn't see herself) and she noticed I had lost weight since my last visit. Now, I have always been a slim and trim guy but the VET Lady seemed to think that She had better take a look at me.

So, back I went today. It was not a nice visit. Not only did I get poked and prodded every place possible (yes -- that again), but they STUCK ME IN THE NECK. Now I've heard tell of vampires but didn't know that the Vet Lady was one of them. I kept trying to tell her that I feel fine, but she said she wanted to be sure there wasn't "Something Going On."

Mrs. H is freaking out at the very thought I might be sick as I was really, really sick a few years ago. Since the Vet Lady made me well again, I have been great, but there's always that "Something Going On" to worry about. After the vampires do their thing with my blood, they will call Mr. & Mrs. H -- probably tomorrow afternoon.

Well, things to do. Gotta go see what happened while I was gone.

mysterious to Mr. & Mrs. H. At least once a day, my brother Bobby goes into an unoccupied room and lets go with one of his Siamese ancestrial yowls. That's the signal for a meeting. Teddy and I stop what we're doing (or in case of napping, what we're not doing) and make our way to the meeting. There aren't enough of us for a circle, or even a square (Note: Work on Mrs. H to get us a square), so we make do with a triangle. There's no need for words at our meetings because we are all adept telepaths. Bobby looks at us; we look at Bobby; Bobby looks at Teddy; Teddy looks at me; Bobby looks at us; I look at Teddy; I look at Bobby; Bobby looks at us. Then, we get up and go back to doing our own things. I'll hear Mr. & Mrs. H discussing what we might be talking about. Well, let me tell you -- You really thought I'd tell you; no way -- cats are mysterious (and we like it that way)!

Added more pictures. Ever since Mrs. H convinced us to join Catster, she has been running round after us with a camera -- not that she didn't have a million pictures of us before, but, no, those were too old-fashioned for Catster. Now, would you believe that she has Mr. H running around after us too. We're flash-blind! Next thing, they'll be following us to the Box!

I love the Long Sleep -- no noise; no one waking me up. Every night, it's the same. Mr. & Mrs. H say "It's Time for Bed." And every night my brothers and I get ready for the Long Sleep. I eat, get a big drink of water (while watching out for Bobby because he likes to put his big paw on the spout and make it squirt me), and visit the Box. Then, I sit and watch Bobby play his "Keep Him Away From His Mommy" game with Teddy (I don't think Teddy knows it's a game; he takes everything so seriously). I usually help Mrs. H in the Wet Room or play the Shower Curtain game with Teddy (Mrs. H has finally given up on pretty delicate things). Teddy races to the Bed with Mrs. H. for his Pet-Fest. I prefer to wait until everyone is settled and then find that just-right spot in the middle of Mrs. H's back. I've heard her say that she doesn't think she could sleep without purring kitties against her tummy and back. Now its time to . . . . zzzzz.

Last night when Mr. H opened the door, a big flying thing that Mrs. H. called a "Moth" came in. Mr. H was less than pleased -- let me tell you. So, I decided to help him catch it. My brothers, Bobby and Teddy, joined in as well. Just trying to help -- all of us. Mrs. H seemed more distressed about flying cats than flying moths. Bobby jumped from the floor to the back of the sofa to the table behind the sofa to way out in the middle of the room. Teddy jumped from the back of Mrs. H's chair to the table (and Mrs. H caught the lamp just in time) to the top of our cat condo (a good six feet) and back to the floor. Me, I'm the acrobat of the family. I jumped, twisted, rolled, and flew to all four corners of the Big Room. I knocked the moth down by jumping straight into the air as it flew by. Then Teddy got to it and was banging it on the head with his front feet while Bobby was tromping it with his back feet. The Moth limped under a table, so it was my turn. I'm small enough to flatten myself out to get under that table. Well, let's just say I didn't go to bed hungry. I just love to pitch in and help Mr. & Mrs. H whenever I can.

Yesterday, we had an Interesting Visitor. We have visitors, but usually they just sit around and talk. The man who came yesterday did really interesting things. He had a big box with a handle. I helped him open it. He took something out of it and I looked around in the box to see what else I might need to hand him. Then he started pounding on the side of the door. He took the "Bye-Bye" door away. (When Mr. & Mrs. H go through that door, they always tell us that before the door closes.) I could actually see what was behind that door and would have investigated further, if Mr. H had not stopped me. The man pounded and made lots of loud noises. I kept trying to help him -- like pull that cord around and help him with his shoe-strings -- but Mr. H kept telling me the man didn't need my help. Guess not, cause he finished up and we had a brand new "Bye-Bye" door. My brothers, Bobby and Teddy missed all the fun. Bobby keeps saying that he was just trying to find a quiet place to nap under the bed -- what an excuse -- I know he was scared of the loud noises. Teddy, as usual, hid in his Secret Place. He's always afraid of being Skinned Alive.

My name is Jack -- Jack Kittedy, that is. My two brothers, Bobby and Teddy, and I live with our Housekeepers (Mr. and Mrs. H) in our house in Colorado. Well, Mrs. H tells me we live in Colorado. I wouldn't know about that because our house is our world. The H's are quite adamant that our precious feet never touch the dirty old ground.

I was born in a vet's office, and the vet named me "Jack." Someone had dropped my Cat Mommy on the office's doorstep when she was expecting me. The vet found my Cat Mommy and brothers and sisters forever homes, but no one took me (tears here, please). That is until the H's came along. I was clever and tried to climb into Mrs. H's purse and, well, the rest is history. They also chose two of my friends, Mighty Mouse and Hector, to live at the house. Because of my name, and Mrs. H's inclination, they underwent name changes -- Bobby and Teddy -- hence, the Kittedy's came to be.

Anyway, Mrs. H has long been a Catster fan and finally encouraged me to join in. She's not much good at all the fancy picture stuff, but she promised to help me out. So, here I am -- ready to join in the Catster fun!
