New plates came in the mail. They are so UGLY. Mom doesn't like them either. She didn't order new plates, only a new tag.

Our old plates had a nice number/letter compurrnation that we loved and had for years and years and had gotten used to. Apparently the Iowa DOT is running out of number/letter combos, so all new plates have Letter/Number compurrnations. Yuck. We hate it. Ours starts with A. We don't want A. We had nice letters from the middle of the alphabet.

Dear Iowa Department of Transpurrtation: If you HAVE TO send us new plates, why can't we keep our old number/letter compurrnation? Who is using that one right now anyway? Why can't we keep it?

Our Cat Recreational Vehicle looks so ugly with the new plates on it. I think I'll ask Mom to get us Purrsonalized plates. TUNA4ME or something like that :(

Word is we might be getting a new litter box for Christmas :( Really Mom? Do you think that's a good gift for Christmas? What if we would give you a new Toilet for Christmas. How would you like that?

How do I know about the box? Well, it's easy. You just check your Mom's email and watch for the "your order has shipped" notice. This order is being shipped to Mom's work address. Hey, maybe it's not for us. Maybe they have an office cat at work that needs a box?

That is nice that Catster gave free balloons out yesterday to celebrate my poopy success. After being all plugged up Friday night and a trip to the vet which resulted in an enema (ewwwww) I did a little poopy Sunday morning.

Yesterday morning I went all out. First I did a regular size poop. Mom put that in a paper bag and took it outside. A few minutes later I felt the need to visit the box again. Two more HUGE poopies came out of me. Wow, I guess I was all plugged up. All systems are working great again. Thanks for all the balloons, friends, to celebrate my poop pile with me. We just didn't have time to send any. Mom had some bible study thing yesterday and came home late.

Hi friends,
I have embarrassing news. Do you all know what an enema is? Um, could the Ladies please all go and get their nails done or something.....

Okay, fellas listen. You don't ever want to get one of those. Mom got me one today and I didn't like it one bit. I had some litter box problems when Mom came home from work. I tried to go and tried to go and tried again but nothing came. Then I barfed out my supper. Then I started meowing really loud. Mom was going to check me out but I yelled at her NOT to touch me. Mom was getting scared because it was 6 pm and our vet closes at 8. And what if it's a urinary tract blockage? I had that years ago and it is very dangerous and expensive. So I was chauffeured to the vet.

The whole trip there I was yelling at Mom that this is NOT necessary. I'll get my business done. Just give me some time. I don't need any help! My goodness was the vet busy. They have four exam rooms and all were occupied. One after the other big dogs came out and finally I was escorted into exam room number three. The doc ask Mom how she's been. Good, she said. Hallo! Cat here not feeling so good! Vet prodded my poor belly and said my bladder is almost empty. I'm not blocked. It must be constipation. Oh thank God. Mom had been praying that it would be constipation. (Mom, could you pray for Tunie Samiches instead please?)

Now I was taken to the back. Hmph, no snacks there. They looked at me with X-ray vision. Yup, said doc. That confirms it. I had a feces ball which I apparently could not push out. Actually, I had been working a long time on that ball. Balls are fun. Just ask your dog. You know what vet lady wanted to do? Oh my gosh, this is really embarrassing. *blush* She was going to try to extract my feces ball manually. Off she went to try that. 10 seconds later she was back to report to Mom that I was not cooperating (you think!). I was in too much pain. What they would do now is sedate me. Not all of me, just the lower parts. That way they could clean me out and I wouldn't even notice. Well, I did notice! First they put something into me. It's called an enema and it's nasty. Mom was told it would take about an hour. So she went shopping (The nerve of that woman to go shopping when I'm suffering!) An hour later she picked me up all squeaky clean. The vet said I need to spend the night in the bathroom because I might leak. Also there might be "blowout" and Mom probably doesn't want my blowout all over her couch.

So here I am in the bathroom. We have a big bathroom. There are two old towels, food, water and a nice litter box. Mom thinks I need more exercise. Nope. I would have taken care of my feces ball. This was all so unnecessary. Poor Mom left a lot of bucks at the vet place. She was gonna buy herself a crown but she said it'll have to wait a bit. That's good because we already have a queen - Sisfur Mietzi.

Stay clean as a whistle everypaw.

How to be a DDP. You just need to brew lots of nip tea for a sisfur who temporarely lost her meow. And you gotta say things like: Oooh poor Mietzi, I'm so sorry that you can't meow. (Finally I can get a word in, MOL). Thank mew all who stopped by to concatulate me to my DDP.

The State Fair started last week Purrsday and Mom STILL didn't take us. Well, Mietzi can't go anyway. She lost her meow last Caturday. She kinda got it back now. She's still too quiet, and Mom heard her cough this morning and just now, so we better leave her at home.

I'm missing all the fun stuff at the Fair. I missed the sack race and the Milk Chug-A-Lug Contest. And I wanted to learn how to make a quilt. Just imagine, I could have quilted my own quilt to sleep on. Then there is the food: Corn Dogs (hold the corn on mine), turkey legs, pork chop on a stick, lamb burger, Eyetalian meatball samich, cheese curds, mouse on a stick....

Then there is the Bill Riley Talent search and I wanted to sing for them. Then there is Iowa's Beautiful Bluebirds!!! and Mountain Lions in Iowa, Archery Basics, Trumpeting for Trumpeter Swans, Duck Calling Contest, Line Dance Lessons. The Grape Stomp sounds like fun and the Ham and Bacon judging. There is a Bangal Tiger Encounger (scary!!) and The World of the Wolf and I wanted to go to the Petting Zoo :(

Furs. We have a serious problem. Please pray and purr for rain everypaw. Many States here in the USA are in a drought right now. We've had mid to upper 90s temps for 3 weeks now with two puny rain showers and no end in sight.

Iowa is the nations top producer for corn and soy beans. A quarter of the corn harvest is basically ruined already. The governor declared some southern counties as agricultural disaster zone. Purrsonally I don't like corn. I eat food that has no corn in it. But corn is in a lot of the stuff that the humans eat. This affects everypaw. Your food prices will go up or have gone up already. Fuel with ethanol in it will go up. Our ground water levels are very low. Fish are dying because their rivers and lakes get hot. Trees are losing their leaves, young trees are in danger of not making it. There is an increased risk of fires with it being so dry.

Mom needs to go and water our tree now she says.
Very concerned,

"Would you like to wake up every morning with happy, positive thoughts?"

That's were I quit reading. I AM waking up with happy thoughts every morning.

Happy thoughts about Mom making me breakfast. What will it be today? Turkey, chicken, lamb or fish. Or a combination? Sliced, diced or pate?

Happy thoughts about sitting here with the cool air-blowy thingy while it's 98 degree outside.

Happy thoughts about watching the birdies in the morning and a few days ago I saw a little Bunny hop on by.

Happy thoughts about wrestling matches with Mietzi.

Thanks, I don't need any help with my happy thoughts.

Happy purrs,

We are making our own Rain tho. Tears are falling because the wonderful Hazel Lucy is gone. Just gone from Caster. Oh, we are so sad. The wonderful Angel Miss Hazel Lucy has helped so many furs over the years and done so much for others. We don't understand. Catster without HL? It's not possible, is it? HL's page is gone. Her sister Mazie is still here.

Mom was so busy at work, she still hasn't bought us a new car. But Mom wants to hug and kiss Beepers (bleek) because he suggested a Honda CR-V and Mom drove one Monday and she just loves it. She tested some other cars too but the CR-V is still her favorite.

Mietzi and I have been doing our own car research and we decided that Mom needs to buy an Elephant shoe, also known as Mini Cooper. Mom calls them Elephant shoe, no offense intended to the elephants or to people who actually drive one of these. We think if Mietzi stands on her tippy toes she can reach the steering wheel. And I can step on the gas and, vroooom, off we go to the next pet store. Or to the ocean.

Also, I need to remind Mom that I got a tire for my birthday. Our new Elephant shoe car only needs to have three tires.

Yesterday evening Mom was gone AGAIN. Instead of taking the Mietzi for a walk or playing with me, she stuffed her face at "Taste of the Nations". It's something that her church put on to support missionaries. It's a big dinner and people got to sample food from different countries. There was cold potato and leek soup from France (yes, the French really eat cold soup), Eyetalian appetizers (oh boy, there were so many), Mexican food and Asian food. Oh, and desert too.

Mom says it was so much fun and there was so much food and it was so good. When Mom finally came waddling into the door we were very disappointed that she didn't ask for a kitty-bag. They told people that they could go back for seconds but Mom was stuffed and couldn't eat another bite.

So we wait for our Elephant shoe with three tires to be delivered any day now.

Mom only caught and tested two cars today, her back kinda hurt. But we're making progress. Toyota RAV4, oh yeah. Like.
Nissan Rogue, hmmm, maybe.

On the way back from the dealer, on I-80, something funny happened. Mom was driving along and suddenly all the displays that show the speed and how much fuel you have and stuff, went black. She could just very faintly make out how fast she was going. Normally our Vibe's display is red on black. Mom thought, oh well, if she can't see how fast she's going she'll just eyeball it. I wonder when the Police stops her, if they accept the argument: hey Officer, sorry, i can't see how fast I'm going. Not my fault if I was going too fast.

When Mom was back home she fiddled with the dial and the display came back on. Thank catness. Mom wasn't going to get that fixed but it's just safer if you can see how fast you're going.

Now Mom talks alot about fog lights and moonroof (huh, the moon doesn't have a roof) I've been thinking about the important extras that this new car needs to have:

a cat bed - why are there no cat beds in cars? We would not need to sit in pet carriers if there was only a comfortable cat bed. That's why we scream and holler in our carriers.

a velvet blanket to knead - a friend of mine has a velvet blanket and he says velvet is the best

an automatic kibble dispenser and water bowl holder - Mom, you snack in the car, so why should we go hungry?

a litter robot for when we need to go. You don't want to make a pit stop every time a cat needs to go, right?

the back of the drivers seat should have a surface for scratching. Sisal, carpet or cardboard. Why hasn't anybody thought of that? Turn the back of the seat into a scratching post.

Nip cigars and nip bananas need to be kept in the glove box, yeah.

What other extras do you think we'll need?

Hi furs:
I'm looking to buy a new car. Well, actually Mom will pay for it but I'm helping her select one. What kind do you drive, um ride? Do you like it?

Mom's car is almost 10 yrs. old and got over 100,000 miles on it. So I figured it's time for a new one.

I want one that's very quiet, doesn't stink, has nice soft cushions and never drives to the vet. It needs to have room for two to three cats and a chauffeur. (no dogs allowed!)

Mom wants one that's dependable, cheap and has some room in the back. We are thinking maybe Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4, Chevy Equinox, Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage. Maybe Subaru Forester would be nice because all of them drive with all wheels. Nissan Rogue? Does anypurr have a Rogue?

The new car needs to have food bowl holders, a automatic water fountain and a built in litter robot. Very important: it needs to have WCAT TV. We need our WCAT with Newmie's traffic updates from the hot air balloon and Samoa McBoa with the latest breaking news.

What car do we have now? *hangs head in shame* An old Pontiac Vibe. Mom likes it a lot. It got lots of room in the back, more than you'd think from looking at it. Let me know what you think.

Thanks. Vrrooom, Vrrooomm

Thank you SO MUCH everypaw for all the neat gifts, comments, mails, photos for my birthday. You guys are great. I was so happy that somebody at least remembered my birthday. Thank yous are coming. Mom is slow with this as always.

Mom has somewhat made up for it that she forgot my birthday on Friday.
Saturday she rushed to the pet supply store to find something for me. She got me a tire. No, not the one around my waist. This one you can play with. You can jump through and on top and you can chase your sisfur around it. You can sit on top of it and shapen your claws too. (see photo on my page)

Sunday I got a mouse (photo on my page also). And then Mom sprinkled nip on the carpet for us to enjoy. This is special, wonderful home-grown nip from dear friends of us. Whoo Hoo, we had a nip pawty and went all crazy. We started chasing each other and wrestling. Guest cat, who stays here sometimes, really had to get out of the way, because Mietzi was zooming by with top speed and made those weird meows that almost sound like barking. Guest cat is weird, she is not affected by nip at all. And to top it all off we got these pawsome natural Salmon treats that Mom got from the Brown Dog Bakery a little while ago. Yes, Mom met a brown dog there. But he was just a customer, he doesn't live there. He begged Mom for some of our kitty treats because his Mom was chatting and slow to pick out his treats.

So it was a nice birthweekend. But I think Mom still owes me. I'll think of more ways to collect.

Hope you all had a nice Easter weekend.
Purrs,
Timo

Oh my cat. You won't believe this. This mother of mine is the worst one of all. Do you know what she did? She FORGOT my birthday. It's my birthday today Mom!

Mom came home from Good Friday service and checked her email. I heard her mumbling: why are there so many from Catster?
Well, because it's my birthday, Mom!

So I got nothing today. No 'Happy birthday dear Timo', no gifts, no snacks, no extra snuggles. What am I supposed to do with this human?

I am glad that my birthday is on Good Friday this year. It is a Good Friday indeed. The Lamb has paid the price once and for all. We will praise your name, Jesus.

That's from a song that the choir at church sang and Mom has been singing it ever since she came home.

Thank you so much for your gifts and pawmails. I have to go do something about Mom now. I just don't know what yet. I'm open for suggestions.

Love,
birthday boy Timo

Some burd news for all my cat friends:

Geese first - Father and mother goose found a perfect spot for their nest. A big planter in front of a Mexican Restaurant here in Des Moines. The mom has laid about three eggs (it's hard to get close enough to get an exact count). Father goose is busy protecting his future offspring. If people walk too close, he will hiss at them. If people go way too close, he will try to bite them. Father goose also sits on top of customer's parked cars just to make a point about who's territory this is. The restaurant staff is happy about their new neighbors. They report the happy couple doesn't like chips but they eat crumbs. Who knew that geese like Mexican.

Turkeys next - The Department of Natural Resources, in a certain Iowa town, is asking people NOT to feed the wild turkeys. They don't want the dozen or so turkeys to get used to handouts. Also, the males can get aggressive in the springtime protecting their hens. If you find wild turkeys on your property, chase them away and tell them: Go find your own food.

Before you come banging on my door, we didnât win the lottery. Otherwise I'd be writing you from M ...

Before you come banging on my door, we didn’t win the lottery. Otherwise I'd be writing you from Maui right now. At least I don't think it was us. Nobody actually knows who won the Hot Lotto prize worth as much as 14.3 million. You have purrobably heard of the lotto saga here in Iowa. The prize went unclaimed for a little over a year. Then some mysterious lawyer from Mew York stepped forward, two hours before the ticket was to expire, and said: I claim the prize on behalf of the winner. Who’s the winner? He says he represents a trust. He had the winning ticket. The police investigated and found that it was the real ticket.

But the Iowa Lotto officials refused to pay because Iowa law says the names of the people behind the trust have to be made know to the Lotto officials. So they set this Mew York lawyer a deadline, which was yesterday, to tell the names. Everybody in Iowa was waiting to hear: who is the winner? why didn’t they claim this prize earlier?
Well, Furrsday evening the lawyer said ‘forget it’ and withdrew his claim. He says he doesn’t know the names of the people behind the trust.

Now a lot of people are wondering: Why would the people in the trust not want their names to be known? Who would turn down 14.3 million?
Somebody who has lots of money already and doesn’t need any more? Donald Trump, Mitt Romney? Is there something shady going on?

What’s a trust you say? Well, it works like this. Let’s say Pipo, Finney and I realize that we got so many presents for Christmas, we can’t play with all of them. So we decide to pool all our extra toys together in a trust. This way we’ll have them for leaner times. Also all our mousies together are probably going to multiply. That’s what the humans call interest. Now we need a safe place to store our abundance. How about Belize? A small country in the middle of Central America with a nice beach. Our mousies will feel great over there. Now we need a name for our trust so that the Belize people know who’s toys those are. Hmmm, help me think here, how about The Three Stooges Investment Trust.
Ha, extra bonus. The Belize people say we don’t even have to write down our names anywhere. They give us a secret password and so nobody knows who’s really behind the Three Stooges Trust.

Now on a side note: Mom has shopped in that QuikTrip where the winning ticket was bought. More than once actually. It’s in our neck of the woods. Hmmm, that makes me wonder…… Mom always says money won’t make you happy…. But really, Mom….

Oh my gosh. I had no idea. Mom saw it on that FB thingy. Today is national BURD day. Quick. Help me think. How should we celebrate this occasion?

I'm thinking a big, juicy turkey maybe? Nope, takes too long to make.

We need a burd! How can I celebrate national burd day without a burd in the house? I know cats who have finches and parakeets and fun things like that. Why can't we have burds, Mom?

I know. I can finally get that burd off the Christmas tree. Yes, it's still sitting up there. Yes, we still have the tree up. Mom says they usually leave it up 'til January 6 in Germany because that's Three Kings Day. You know. The three kings from the east who brought presents to baby Jesus. I love our tree. I bat at it sometimes. I'm happy that it's still up. Yes, I will remove my Christmas music off this page, eventually.

Need to take a nap now and dream about burds.

So like Mietzi reported, Mom was gonna spend more time with the Lord because she just committed her life to following Him and I understand. I mean, we know the Lord. He's the one who made us and we spend time with Him too. Do you really think we're sleeping all the time when our eyes are closed? Sometimes we do, but sometimes we are praying for our friends and reflecting on what a wonderful life He has given us. I found the purrfect solution for Mom's time management problem! It's easy. She just has to get up earlier. Mietzi will help her accomplish that. Mietzi is a good alarm clock (the girl can be so annoying when she wants something). There. Problem solved.

Now to my Burd News. There is a Burd in my wonderpurr Christmas tree!!!
A big, red Cardinal. Up until now our tree was burd free. We have three cats sitting in the tree. They are nice. A Purrsian, a Meezer (my favorite) and a Tabby. Now Mom hung the burd in the tree. He was a present from a co-worker. That co-worker must not like Mom, giving her a burd. Mom likes the Cardinal. She says it's her favorite burd. I have to keep a close eye on him now. Knowing burds he's going to kaka all over our nice tree. I tried to get him out. I was standing on my hind legs and had one paw up on a branch as high as I can reach but Mom caught me and said I'm a bad boy and I'm NOT to touch the tree or Santa won't bring me anything.

May the burd fall out of the tree soon. May your tree always be burd-free.

Whoopee only 12 more days 'til it's Christmas!
No, make that 11. I won something at Newman's "The 12 Days of Christmas giveaway" because I bought his Poopology book. You know, the funny one with all the stuff about poopies. Anyway, I'm winner number one, so only 11 more days and it'll be Christmas. If you bought the book you'll be entered automatically in the drawing.

Newman dude, feel free to put a link to your book in the comments so that my friends can win too. Mom has no patience with links on Catster.

Thank you very much for the present, Newman. You rock! I think I won a toy. Mietzi thinks the winners are MIETZI and Timo. That must be a mistake. Mietzi didn't even read the book yet. I read it. I hope the toy has nip in it.

Poop on.
Timo

Pee Es: another sure sign that it'll be Christmas very soon is, today we had a few of them little white things falling from the sky. Not many. Not enough to cover the ground. What is that again? Oh ya, I remember from last year. They are cold and wet if you step on them.

Whoo Heee. I'm a DDP today. Thank you so much, Diary Girl.
See Tabbies - If you write about a turkey bird you get a DDP.

Thank you to Teddy Bearz and Big Harry who made lovely pictures for me. Teddy Bearz also sent me a blue ribbon. I'll wear that for sure. It gives me the distinguished look I need when I'm running for major. I'm considering if I should run, because a small town in Iowa just elected a dead man as major. I think I would be a better choice.

Teddy Bearz might be my campaign manager. Oh and talking about my pawsome new friend Teddy Bearz, please keep purring for him. He needs your purrs. THAT'S ALL I WANT FOR MY DDP. Keep you zealies please. Just purr for him. Thanks. He commented on my last diary entry. You can click on his picture there and get to his page.

Mom is going to work in a minute and then tonight she will watch 'Wicked' and come home late. I have no idea why she wants to watch something Wicked. And tomorrow she'll have a long day at work. They have a seminar and stuff and lots to do. So she'll let me back on here eventually for my Thank You's. After she's done being busy.

Have a great day everypurr. It's cold in Iowa, 23 degree.
Love,

Oooh, there is a contest in the mewspaper. You color a turkey bird and you can win prizes. The deadline is today. I have to hurry and finish my bird. They have three different CATogories:
under 5 years
6-8 years
and 9-12 years.
I'm 8, so I can purrticipate.

Also in today's mews: You just gotta love Iowa. The people in a small town in Iowa (not our town) elected a new major. Only problem, the major had passed away 5 days before the election. Everybody knew that he wasn't around anymore but they elected him anyway for sentimental reasons. I think I might run for major at the next election. If they can elect a major who is already in heaven, then they can elect a cat too.

First orders of business:
Close our dog park, Yay.
STRICT enforcement of our leash law for dogs. If you don't keep your woofer on a leash, you'll be sentenced to scooping dog-poop for a week.

Purrs,

Well, it seems breakfast and supper are served an hour late around here now. Are they allowed to do that? Change the serving times on us like that? I need to find my contract and see if that is in there. You know that we all sign a contract before moving in with our humans, right? I think I signed mine when I was at the white coats a long time ago. I remember they had some paperwork out just before I fell asleep and some human was holding my paw too. So I guess I must have signed it. This was when I lost my front claws and I think I lost something else too. I just remember feeling different when I woke up. Not bad, just different. Calmer around girlcats for sure.

Anyway, back to my contract. If I remember correctly – and I might have dreamed this - the contract says that I, a cat, am to provide to the human(s):
•	Warmth and snuggles when needed
•	Comfort and purrs as much as needed
•	Headbonks
•	A listening ear when needed
•	A happy disposition always
•	I agreed to use my teeth and claws sparingly and never to cause any serious injury.
•	I agreed to listen to whatever name the human chooses to call me.
•	I am to allow the human to call me all kinds of cute pet names (*shudder* why is that in there).

In return the human will provide to me:
•	Food as much as needed
•	A warm place to sleep
•	A litter box
•	Protection from danger
•	Healthcare
•	Belly rubs and chin scritches on command
•	Reasonable amount of playtime
•	Will always look out for my best interests and never, ever abandon me, even when I’m old.

I think I had them put that last clause in there because the last humans I had, before this Mom, they actually abandoned me when they had to move. I think this is a pretty good contract. The woofers usually have more complicated contracts. They have to do all kinds of stuff. Now I need to find my contract and see if there are set food serving times in the fine print.

Off to look through Mom’s paperwork,
Timo

So we have this guest cat. She’s been visiting off and on for, oh, two and a half years I think. Mom didn’t want us to talk about her because she’s ugly. MOL, just pulling your leg.
No, I think she’s purrty. But we live in a condo – not a cat condo, a human condo – and there are rules on how many cats can live here. So let’s count.
We got me - that’s one.
Mietzi – Mietzi is small, she counts as half a cat.
Guest Cat – Guest Cat is big, she’s as big as I am. So she counts as one cat.
Mom says we would be a little bit over the limit.

So therefore guest cat doesn’t really live here. She’s just a guest. She belongs to somebody else and just spends a lot of time here visiting. Oh, if any of you are friends with Mom on Facebook, pssst, OK? We don’t talk about guest cat on Facebook. Well, we don’t talk about any cat on Facebook. Facebook is for humans, Catster is for kittehs.

I think guest cat is purrty. Very, very purrty. More later.

Yippee, I won! I mean Mom won a bag of dog food at the pet store where she buys our food sometime. Mom had entered a drawing and was actually hoping to win the bicycle. Now how silly is that. I don’t ride a bicycle. Well, maybe if it had a little basket Mom could take me for rides. Anyway, Mom got a call about having won dog food and Mom told the nice lady thank you very much but she has no dogs, only cats. The lady said she could have cat food instead. Yessss.

So today, FINALLY, Mom goes over to the store to collect my winnings *jumping up and down*. So the guy in the store tries to give her dog food, Mom explains that she has cats, not dogs and could she have food for cats instead. No, says the guy, this was a special promotion by this one company and there is only dog food. Mom tells him but the lady who called said she could have cat food. So the guy says the lady is not working today but he’ll see what he can do. He goes away to make a phone call (most likely to the lady who promised us cat food). He comes back and YES that company also makes cat food and they have some in the store. He just didn’t know that they have it. Chicken, Duck or Salmon? Chicken, says Mom. Chicken is always good.

GOOD CHOICE Mom. Mom I love you. THANKS for not bringing home dog food or a bicycle. The new bonbons are delicious. Mietzi and I already tried. Mmmh yum yum. Only guest cat didn’t get any. Guest cat is supposed to lose some weight and she already had enough wet food. Oops. I’m not really supposed to talk about guest cat but Mom has decided, after much thinking, to kinda let you guys know about her. And besides. Today is guest cat’s birthday and Mom FORGOT. Ha. I know who Mom loves the best. ME. Because Mom didn’t forget about my bonbons.

More later about guest cat. But tomorrow Mom has to get her hair colored, her tires rotated, clean, wash, shop, cook. No – Mom doesn’t cook. Go out to eat. And then maybe she’ll let me back on here to talk about guest cat.

Nighty night. I need to beg for more bonbons. They are from Fromm.

I already wrote about this in Charlie Chocolate Paw’s diary but I thought I’d share with everycat.

German Halloween Story. Yeah, I know Halloween is over. Sorry, I just thought about it.
In Germany (where Mom grew up) they don’t celebrate Halloween. A few years ago the following happened to our German Grandparents:

Our Mom was already living on her own and the German Grandparents are old, like a 100 or so. So one night a few years ago on October 31st the doorbell rings. German Grandpaw answers and there are three juveniles, maybe 15/16 years old, on his doorstep.

The kids say HAPPY HALLOWEEN and TRICK OR TREAT. German Grandpaw gets a bit scared because the kids are dressed in scary costumes. He doesn’t speak English so he asks them what is this all about and what are you saying. The kids say: Don’t you know? Tonight is Halloween. German Grandpaw asks what that is. The kids say it’s a holiday from America and a lot of people in Germany celebrate it now (not true). And what you do is you dress up and go from house to house and then people have to give you beer or schnaps. The kids say: You have to give us beer or schnaps or we’ll do a scary trick.

German Grandpaw told them there is no way that he is giving alcohol to juveniles and they better get off his property right now or he’ll call the cops. The kids left.

Nice try kids.

Oooh, this is so sad. Ohio Lions, Tigers and Bears Rest in Peace, dear ones. Humankind has failed you. What the heck. This makes me so mad. Humans are supposed to look out for us and protect us. That's their job. They are the intelligent species. How was this man, who was a known animal abuser, allowed to have all these animals? It takes A LOT of time, money and special training to be able to keep exotic animals like these properly. Change the laws, gosh darnit. People shouldn't be able to order exotic animals on the internet like ordering a sweater.

On another subject: the diary comment function is fixed now. Thanks tech-cats for keeping us safe and keeping unintelligent people out of here.
I'm sure you've all heard about Ingen (Catster ID 1011864). About how she went missing on Thursday during a cross country move. Her Mom was moving from Michigan to Washington. Ingen was found Sunday!! We are all so happy. She was still in the hotel, hiding between the mattress and box spring.

All the Catsters here have really come together with ideas and support and now that she's been found there is just one more thing to do. Ingen's Mom had to continue her trip to Washington State. So now Ingen just needs to get to her new home to WA.

Alex Sweet Angel Girl, ID 112787 has organized a fundraiser to pay for Ingen's trip home. And for the fee that the shelter charges where Ingen had to stay for two days. You can donate on Alex' Mom's website here: IBDkitties.net
Red box on the right side is the donation widgit. Every little bit helps get Ingen home to her Mom and cat-brofur.
This fundraiser has been approved by Catster HQ.

You're probably wondering how my speed dating went on Thursday. Mother didn't let me go! Not fair. And I had groomed myself extra handsome and was wearing my nicest collar. A floofy collar in Hawkey black and gold (The Iowa Hawkeyes won today, by the way). Mom says this speed dating thing at our ARL is for the HUMANS to find their perfect kitty or doggy match to adopt. I still think I could have went. I could have adopted a cat, right? A pretty Meezer. And then Friday and today they had something called "Fall In...Love". Mom says this is again just for the humans to get to know and fall in love with adoptable animals. This is at the same Animal Rescue League where I'm from. I think I should be allowed to go and just check out the old digs and say Meowlo to the staff peoples.

Then this morning I did something exciting. Mom came home late Wednesday and yesterday we got lots of Fancy Feast, yummy. I think Mom still felt guilty about being home late and about not letting me go speed dating. Anyway, you know how it says you shouldn't change foods too fast on a kitty. Well, I usually eat the blue buffalos and I got an upset tummy from all the Fancy Feast. I told Mom last night that my tummy hurt. I was meowing and pacing back and forth and asking her to make it better. All my meowing even earned me a short stint in time-out. I can't remember the last time I was in time-out. I'm a good boy.

So this morning we got breakfast early, then Mom went back to bed on account of it being a weekend. Then she heard me barfing. She grabbed me and put me in the bathroom. I had only barfed a little bit in her bedroom. But in the bathroom, oh boy, I had a barf-fest. I was sitting on the thing where the sink is and suddenly I felt yuckery. So I hung my head down and barfed lots of food out. Oh boy, it all ran down the cabinet and there was some on the wall too. What a mess for Mom to clean.

It's Mom's fault! She should have let me go speed dating. Then she wouldn't have felt guilty and over-fed us on Fancy Feast. I feel good again now. I had my usual blue buffalos for supper.

Looking for love in all the wrong places.

Mom came home, she had been gone all day, and she smelled like sheep and horse!! With a hint of cow and pig I think. Huh? What's going on here? Mom looked really beat when she came home. She took a shower and plopped down on the couch saying something about her feet hurting.

I jumped on Mom's lap, purring, trying to lick her face to get the sheep smell off. Now I'm not a lap cat and I hardly ever lay on Mom's lap. But I felt it was necessary to show her that there is no need to aquire a sheep or a horse. If she wants the warmth of a sheep - I can provide that. I stayed on her lap 20 minutes just to prove the point. And if she wants a horse for horsing around - I can do that too.

Now can you guess where Mom was all day? Here are some clues:

Butter Cow

Fried Butter on a stick

Pork Chop on a stick

4-H

Turkey Leg

Grandstand

Sunday was a lovely day. Mid 80s. Mietzi and I were lounging on the patio. We each found one grasshopper to play with. They were hiding in Mom's flowers but we saw them. They were fun to play with. I let mine hop away after I was done playing. I'm a good boy. Mietzi played a little too hard with hers. It was not able to hop away, hee hee. Oh well. That's the way of the world.

You guys have a happy day. I'm planning on doing the same. I'm so honored to be a Daily Diary Pick again. Concats to all the other cats who got picked, especially Hunter, who wrote a very good diary yesterday.

We all watched Master Chef tonight. Mietzi on the back of the couch. Mom on the couch and I on the cat tree. It was the final. Oh the suspence. Jennifer or Adrien. Quail or short ribs. Scallops or Prawns. Prawns are like shrimp I think. I don't know. I never had them. OK, the short ribs were too spicey for my taste, I would have liked the scallops raw and why did she stuff the quail with vegetables? Not necessary. But overall it was a good show. It made my mouth water. If Mom could only cook like that. Yeah right. Keep dreaming Timo.

NEXT season I'll apply to be one of the Judges on Master Chef. Yep. Gordon Ramsey and Timo. I'll get to taste all the dishes and give them one to four paws.

Good night. I'll go dream of quail now.

"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God."

That's from a big book that Mom is reading and I kinda like it. Just can't trust them horses and the chariots can break too.
It's in Psalm 20. A Psalm is like a poem or a song says Mom.

I like the rain too that we had today. Rain makes the grass grow and I like to eat grass.

Mom oiled the hinges of our inside doors. They used to go Eeeeee, Eeeeee. Now they are quiet and don't wake me up any more. Mom is glad that she accomplished something during her time off. She also planted new flowers on the patio. The old one were all dried out from the hot weather. And she got two plants for inside the house. And she bought a new rubber thingy that goes under the garage door. You know, that part that keeps the dirt out. The old one had fallen off. She didn't install this one yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Time for a nap now and then maybe I'll go out and eat some grass. Happy Friday to everycat.

Whoo Hoo, it seems today is my Birthday. I got an email from the good people at Petsmart wishing me a happy birthday and, here is the best part, there is a coupon for me to come to the store and pick out a free toy! Wow. I also have to buy something for ten bucks but that's not a problem. We buy lots of stuff there anyway.

My Catster page says April 6th is my birthday. Is it today or April 6th? Mom says April 6th is right. That's not my real birthday either. It's what my adoption papers say and that's what Mom went with. I was too little to remember the day of my birth. So why do the Petsmart people think today is my birthday? Mom had some problem getting their site to work right and she remembers speaking to a nice man on the telephone and I think he asked when her cat's birthday is. So Mom just said August 3rd. She couldn't remember exactly. April 6, August 3, yes Mom - you got it almost right. Mom, how could you not remember your Timo Junge's birthday?

Anyway, I think I'll just leave my Petsmart birthday on this day. So I'll get to celebrate twice. Happy 8 years, 3 month, 27 days birthday to me.

No gifts please. I'll get my gift from Petsmart.
Purrs,
Birthday Junge Timo

Tonight Mom went to Wally World to buy some essentials. Bread and ice cream for her, poopie bags for us. Sorry, says Mom, Wally World was all out of poopie bags. What to do?

What are poopie bags? Well, when we make a poopie or pee in the box, Mom puts it in a paper bag and takes it away. It says "lunch bags" on the package. Which makes me wonder if some creatures like the contents of our poopie bags for lunch?

So we were all out. Not one single poopie bag left in the house. I asked Mom what are we supposed to do now? Hold it? I'm a very regular guy and I like to go around 5:30 in the morning, just in time to wake up Mom. Mom said not to panic. We can still go. Mom picked up some plastic sandwich bags for a dollar. Sandwich bags, eh? Which makes me wonder...... could somebody really be making sandwiches with what I leave in the box at 5:30 in the morning? I've heard dogs have a strange taste.

Happy that I can "go" tomorrow morning,
Timo

A lot of politicians are visiting Iowa now. President Obama is here today and Michele Bachman was here. Sarah Palin is in Pella with the Dutch people. Pella is a town where lots of Dutch settled. They have windmills and tulips and neat buildings. They run around in wooden shoes (that could hurt if they step on my toes).

Mom says it has something to do with the Caucus, or was it Caucasus? It must be Caucasus. That makes much more sense. I looked it up on the purrnet, I do that when I don't know something. The Caucasus is a region in Eastern Europe. It's south of Russia and East of Turkey. Wedged in betwix the Black Sea (I wonder if the water is really black) and the Caspian Sea. Georgia is in the Caucasus. Funny, I always thought Georgia was in the U.S. of A.

Welcome to beautiful Iowa all you politicians from the Caucasus. I haven't seen President Obama yet. He is visiting the other end of the State. Mom says I could possibly see him soon because we live close to Capital City and he usually comes to Capital City once in a while.

Are you cats playing guitar? There is a guitar at google.com that you can actually play today. You just catch a mouse and move your mousie over it. It’s in honor of this guitar dude Les Paul. I’ve been practicing. You can even record what you play. Just click that black box that looks like a key hole. It’s FUN. I think I’m ready to record an album. Cat Music and Cat Tales with Timo. Oh yeah.

Hey, the Catster tech cat wrote me back on Sunday (yup, he was working Sunday) about that annoying Apache that had gotten into my puter, and the Red Hat club too. He was working on it very hard on Sunday and he confirmed that everything still posted, it was just like - annoying. So then yesterday he wrote again that the Apaches and Red Hat peoples had all been evicted and everything is working like it should again. We might need to give ourselves a treat to refresh the page, so then all will be well again. I think Newman and his law batch might have helped with the Apache.

Those might not have been his exact words but that’s the meaning of it. So I’ve been standing in front of the treat jar but I can’t get the lid off. Mom, the tech cat said I need to give myself a treat.

Have fun playing that guitar. Rock on,

Happy Mother’s Day, dear Mom. I love you. Thank you for picking me in the shelter. I'll never forget the day you picked me up. Happy Mother’s Day also to ALL the Mom’s out there. You rock.

Here is something that is dear to my heart. We just love that first song on my playlist “More Beautiful You” from Jonny Diaz because it’s so true. I copied some of the lyrics below. Please tell a girl or woman in your life this Mother’s Day, that she is beautiful just the way she is. Let’s stop believing the lies of advertisers who want women to look a certain way. Beauty is within your heart! You’re perfect just the way you are.

Happy Mom’s Day also to my furr-Mom. Love you. I think you’re just a few years older than I. So wherever you are, I hope you’re fine. Thanks for all you taught me about finding a good human and about mousies and things.
Love,
Timo

More Beautiful You – Jonny Diaz

Little Girl 14 flipping through a magazine.
Says she wants to look that way.
But her hair isn’t straight
her body isn’t fake
And she’s always felt overweight.

Well little girl 14 I wish that you could see
That beauty is within your heart.
And you were made with such care,
your skin, your body and your hair
are perfect just the way they are.

There could never be a more beautiful you!
Don’t buy the lies, disguises and hoops
they make you jump through.
You were made to fill a purpose
that only you could do.
So there could never be a more beautiful you.

Little girl 21, the things that you’ve already done
anything to get ahead.
And you say you’ve got a man
but he’s got another plan
Only wants what you will do instead

Well little girl 21, you never thought that this would come.
You starve yourself to play the part.
But I can promise you there’s a man who’s love is true.
And he’ll treat you like the jewel you are.

Hi cats. Thank you to all who stopped by yesterday and brought gifts and concatulations for my Daily Diary Pick. A special thank you to Big Harry, who makes the most wonderpurr trophies and picture-mementos. I had a nice day and got to go outside with Mom in the evening for half an hour. It was 63 and sunshine.

Official Thank Yous will follow soon. I'm busy reading Mom's new Kindl. Mom plugged it in to charge. She doesn't realize that you can start reading while it's still charging. So she's busy cleaning something and I grabbed it and started reading. It's easy to turn the pages with my paw. Mietzi keeps asking if I'm sure that this is it and I'm supposed to be careful, I might get my tail pulled. The girl is weird sometimes. I downloaded some fairy tales and have to get back to them now.

Thank you again. Hugs. I love you all.

So I always knew Mom wasn't good with technology and things. I mean the woman has a prepaid cell phone and she wouldn't buy me the new iPad2 when I asked for it. I'm just happy that she knows how to turn the puter on and login to Catster.

So there are these new hearts in the giftshop and they are FREE. So I says, Mom let's send them to my friends. That'll be fun. Mom says, Gee Timo, I'd love to help you with that but that's gonna take furrever. So I looked into it and I saw that you can send one gift to a whole bunch of your friends AT THE SAME TIME! There is a button where you can add recipients and Mom never knew that. You just click on the picture of the friends. I showed her. Wow, that was easy, says Mom.

I have noticed that some friends send like the same text to alot of friends, and believe me, I don't mind, because we all know our human's time is limited. They have to do unnecessary things like work and clean and watch TV. But I always thought other furrs just copy and past the text they want to send and then send it to each furr individually. Yes, that would have taken furrever.

I'm glad that I looked into that and showed Mom an easier way. Maybe tomorrow I'll teach her how to write computer code, MOL.

Today is May Day. That means putting up the May Tree and dancing around it with all the eligible young Maidens. Many villages in Germany have a May Tree. Mom is from Germany but she's from the northern part and they didn't have May Trees there. A May Tree is a very tall trunk of a tree that gets decorated with ribbons and a crown of evergreens. Then people dance around it. It also involves eating bratwurst and drinking beer. It is mostly meant to be a celebration for the young people. So that they can meet and dance and eat Bratwurst together.

In some villages the young men put a decorated May Tree in every young woman's yard. And in some places the man puts the tree only in the yard of the young woman he is interested in. There are a lot of different traditions aound the May Tree.

May 1st is also Laborday in Germany. It's where we commemorate what the Worker's Rights movement and the Unions have accomplished for the workers.

Last but not least, they have a May Beetle in Germany. See picture on my page. I don't think you guys have that beetle here in the USA, correct me if I'm wrong. Mom says the kids in Germany were always excited when they found one, because they are rare.

Happy May Day everypurr. Next year I want my own May Tree with lots of ribbons. Then you can all come over and we Doods will dance with all the young Maidens. We'll eat Bratwurst and grilled shrimp and drink nip lemonade.

Sing with me:
Schöne Maid, hast Du heut' für mich Zeit
Oh ja ho ja ho
Sag' bitte ja, dann bin ich nur für Dich da, oh bitte
Oh ja ho ja ho

Pretty Maiden, do you have time for me today,
Oh ja ho ja ho
Please say yes, then I will be here for you only, oh please

Are you all having a pawtastic Easter weekend? I got a catnip mouse from the Bunny and Mietzi got Peeps that don't peep.
I just realized that the title of my diary is “Timo’s Tall Tales”. So I better tell you some tales. Grandma and Grandpa live in Germany and here is a tale about a horse from a newspaper clipping that they sent over. (yes, I will also tell you cat and dog tales in the future)

Zorro is a very special horse. Zorro will celebrate his 25th annifursary on the job in July. He is probably the oldest horse in the city of Bremen. He is at least 36 years old and maybe as old as 40 years. For a horse that is very, very old. If a horse is in his 20s he is considered stone old.

Where does Zorro work? He works at a special project. A nonprofit farm on the outskirts of Bremen, which is dedicated to city kids. Kids from different nationalities learn how to play with each other, they learn about responsibilities and how to take care of animals and also how to ride a horse. There are also three donkeys, two goats and a cat on the farm.

Zorro was the very first horse at the project and over the last 25 years he taught several hundred kids how to ride a horse. He still goes on short rides now but he can’t carry a rider anymore on account of his age. Time did leave his mark on Zorro. He has arthritis, he has no teeth left and he gets heart medication. But otherwise he is doing so great that he is kept in an open stable all year round (winters in that part of Germany are not as cold as in Iowa). He does get a nice blanket in the winter. Zorro is on a special diet, including oil and malt beer (mmmh yum). Zorro has always been a very special horse. He has an even temperament, is very patient with the new riders and even the vet visiting doesn’t make him loose his cool.

His 25th annifursary will be on July 11th and every worker on the farm will come and shake his hoof in appreciation of his work for the project. Zorro hopes that many former workers and also kids that he taught to ride will show up for his special day. Congratulations Zorro. Job well done. Thank you for teaching kids about treating animals kindly.

Purrscript: many workers in Germany get a Golden Watch for their 25th anniversary. I wonder if Zorro will get one too.

Dear friends,
I had a wonderpurr birthday yesterday. Mom came home with some special food for me. It's Chicken Liver Pate with Quail Eggs. Mmmh yumm. I had to share one container with Mietzi. Then Mietzei and I got to go outside. The sun was shining and it was 65. Mietzi was in her harness because she is a bad girl and she runs away. So I was showing off in front of her and ran really fast by her. Mietzi can't run in her harness, MOL. I am still waiting for a "real" present. I think I'll look thru some cat catalogues and then whisper to Mom what I want when she sleeps.

Back inside we went for some more eagle watching. Mietzi kept asking Mom: Where exactly is Decorah, Iowa. Because there is a half-eaten fish in the eagle's nest and Mietzi was gonna go and ask Momma Eagle: "Are you gonna eat that?" Good thinking Mietzi. That fish is gonna spoil soon.

I don't know if it's always the Momma Eagle sitting on the nest or if Mom and Dad take turns. It's hard to tell them apart and I haven't seen any change-offs. If he just hunts that is an easy job because they live next to a fish hatchery. And Momma got the tough job taking care of the kids all day long, MOL. You can even see them at night because there is a light shining on them. I hope it's not too bright. I think Momma needs a light switch to turn the light off for nighty time. Can you tell, I love my eagles. They are quite fascinating. I love it when Momma settles into the nest and she does something that looks almost like kneading. Wiggling around until she got the chicks situated just right.

Oh ya, I was gonna say thank you. I almost forgot. Thank you to all my wonderfurr friends for my birthday gifts, well wished and pmails:

MOLLY was here very early in the morning bringing me a party hat.
LUKE, TULLY, SAMMY, NATASHA - a cup cake
Miss CHAI LATTE - a lady bug
HOBO, MOOSE - a huuuuge cake (yes, I shared with everybody here and we still have leftovers)
Family of ADAM DYLAN - yummy shrimp and his whole family sang "Happy Meowday to you" to me. Very talented furrs.
Family of ZEEKE - another yummy shrimpie
SAMOA - a lady bug
NERMAL - yumm more shrimp
TROUT TOWNE TABBIS- Shrimp of course, te he
Family of BIG HARRY - a lady bug
SIMONE AND RIVER - a lady bug and an original River Dance
ALEX, FINNEY and LACEY and also GIDGIT couldn't make it over but they sent birthday wishes via pawmail.

Thank you so furry much. Love you all.

Momma Eagle just ate most of the fish and fed some to the babies too. But there are two more fishes and something that might be a bunny laying in the nest. Papa was there to replenish the pantry and to say Good Morning but then he left again. I guess that answers my question. Must be the Momma who is doing all the child rearing.

You all have a pawsome day.
Your Eagle enthusiast Timo

Hi everyfur. Thanks for bringing over so many gifts for my purrsday. Molly was the first one this morning. She gave me a party hat. I had it on this morning when Mom got up and good thing too. Mom almost forgot about my purrsday. But then she saw me with the party hat. I don't know what Mom will do for my purrsday - since she almost forgot. Waiting for her to come home. I hope it involves food!!

In the meantime I'm watching the Eagles in Decorah Iowa on their web cam. It's really neat. They have two little babies and another egg is about ready to hatch. The old eagles are very big. I don't want to run into them ever, so it's nice to watch from the safe distance over the net.

If you want to watch too here is the website. Sorry, I have no time for links right now because it's Mom's lunch break
www.raptorresource.org

then click on nest cam
Or you can just google Decorah Eagles.

Meow to you later,
birthday boy TK

7:40 p.m.
There is a big old fish laying in the nest right now (supper). I hope it's a trout. The eagles live next to a fish hatchery. Good place to live.

I have the sound turned up on the eagle website and you can hear birds chirping, cars driving by and water running. When Mom watches at work, she has no sound. She never needs sound on her work computer. So she was surprised to find out that there is sound. Good thing that I turned our speakers up.

I lost track a little bit. I don't know if eagle baby number three has hatched yet. I thought I saw an empty shell in the nest. Momma Eagle needs to get up so that I can get a better look. Must be boring to be sitting on that nest all day long. I'll come around in a little while and thank you all personally for the gifts and greetings. Thank you so much. Love you all. Gotta check on my eagles.

Last week I told you about the new CatSnip Program from our Animal Rescue League. Mom says it's only for low income kitties and it's free. So I thought I'd sign up because I have no income and it sounded like it is a crafts class. Because I didn't stop bugging Mom about it, she finally explained it to me.

It's not a crafts class at all! It's like them humans steal part of our manly parts. It usually happens when you're really young and I had it done already but I don't remember. The humans don't do this to be mean. It's for our own good. Because man cats who don't have this done live a dangerous life. They will go roaming around looking for the most beautiful girl cat to marry and they will stray far from home. And after a little while the girl cat will have kittens. Then she'll sue you for kitten support and Alley-Money too because she wouldn't be able to work for a while on account of the kittens. Boy, am I happy that I don't have to worry about that.

But the best is, did you know that CatSnip is available also for humans? Yep, humans can have this done too. Well, it's about time that they have to suffer too. It's not fair that it's always us cats who have to go to the vet and have all this stuff done to us.

So now CatSnip for humans is available too. Not at the ARL of course but I saw some human vets advertise it, and they say humans should have it done right now if they are thinking about it. Because the Final Four are on and it's the purrfect excuse to just sit on the couch and do nothing. Humans are not as tough as we cats are. When they have this done, they are supposed to sit on the couch for three days and not move much. And there is also a strategically placed bag of frozen peas involved somehow.

Glad that I can enjoy the Final Four without frozen peas,
Timo

Mom says this is very good. It’s new. It’s from our local Animal Rescue League and it’s called the CatSnip Program. I have been thinking about what exactly the CatSnip Program could be. The flyer has a happy smiling cat on it. It says that cats who live in certain Zip Codes are invited to participate. You have to make an appointment and it’s free. FREE is good. They only have room for 1,920 cats during the next two years.

CatSnip sounds kind of crafty. I’m wondering if this is like a crafts class and we cats would be making something? Maybe we’d be using them kid-scissors with the rounded edges and glue? I asked Mom if she could sign me up for the class but Mom doesn’t want me to go. She says I don’t need to go, it’s already taken care of. This is not fair! Just because I’m a man cat doesn’t mean that I can’t be crafty and creative. I can go to a crafts class if I want to. I’d love to make a nice toy out of colored paper and feathers and fabric. Maybe I’d even use glitter.

Mietzi said she doesn’t want to go. No way. Well, Mietzi has always been more of a Tomboy cat and she’d probably rather go to a shop class.

I hope Mom will change her mind and lets me go. CatSnip sounds like so much fun.
Your crafty Timo

I'M CAT OF THE DAY! I just found out now at 6:04 central daylight savings time. Wow, I'm speechless. Thank you for all the gifties and emails and comments. I LOVE MY FRIENDS.

I'll write more later and tell you what the nightmare was.

T.K.

*** U P D A T E ***
When Mom got home from work she found out that I'm COD. I was so excited. I've never been COD before. What I didn't know at that time yet, was that a very dear friend had made her journey to the Bridge today. Miss Hazel Lucy is the sweetest Angel ever at the Bridge. We are so sad. Mom can't stop crying. We love Hazel Lucy so much. We'll love her until we see her again.

I wrote my original diary title when Mom came home: Cat of the Day and a nightmare. I didn't know about HL when I wrote that title. That is a nightmare indeed. It seems unreal that sweet Hazel is not here any more.

I was going to tell you about a different nightmare. Mom had one last night. She dreamt that she gave me away to the Shelter! In her dream she just couldn't deal with having us cats any more. Then a day later she realized what she had done and was afraid the shelter might send me to the Bridge. And she desperately wanted me back. She couldn't believe that she had given me away because she loves, loves, loves me and missed me terribly. So she was gonna go, no RUN, to the shelter to get me back. And that's when she woke up. She was SO glad to see me and I got kisses and hugs and cuddles. Mom would NEVER give me away. Don't know where that silly dream came from.

Mom is still crying, so I better stop now. Enjoy each day with your family. Love each other. Forgive each other.

We will say a prayer for Hazel Lucy and her Mom tonight.

My furriends are so smart. As I said yesterday, I was interested in getting new pads for my paws because the new iPad2 came out. The Trout Towne Tabbies pointed out that the pads might be like shoes and once I wear shoes I might have to wear a suit too. If they are like shoes I can't wear them because I never wear socks. And am not going to wear a suit either! I have this old, striped sweater that I wear all the time and I just love it. It fits well and it’s so comfurrtable. You know us men. When we find a sweater that we love, we’ll wear it until it falls apart. So no suits for me.

Kaci Sunshine pointed out that the pads that I came equipped with have been well tested over thousands of years and proven to be very durable and effective. She’s right. These same pads that I’m wearing have been worn by cats in old Egypt who were adored as godlike creatures. And they are worn by cats in icy Siberia and in the hot desert. Who knows how good the new iPad2s would hold up to Iowa snow or scorching sun. And what if I have to walk thru water? Would that ruin the new iPad2s?

Kaci Sunshine also warned me that purrty soon my new iPad2s would be obsolete and there would be iPad3s. And then I’d want to upgrade to them and then to the iPad4s and so on.

Well, I admit, I got carried away by the hype. You know how it is when you see a new toy that you think you absolutely HAVE to HAVE. And then the advertising purromises if you get it, you’ll be happier and all the girl kitties will find you irresistible with your new toy. So I’m gonna keep these old, well-worn pads that I have right now. This same design has been worn by Royal cats in Egypt. If it was good enough for them it’s good enough for me.

Going for a walk now enjoying my old paw pads,
Timo

OK I want to know where Mom is keeping my dog. I didn't know we had one but there must be one around here somewhere. We got these Q-Pons in the mail from the petstore. And they are for dog food. This isn't the first time that they've sent us Q-Pons for dog stuff. Mom opened them and was saying something like how interesting.

So if Mom thinks Q-Pons for dog stuff are interesting then she must be keeping a dog somewhere. Maybe he's in the garage or in her office? I would like to meet the pooch. Maybe it's a she dog. Is he/she big or small, nice to cats or not so nice.

Mom, I want to meet my dog. Not nice of you to keep him from me. I think Mietzi speaks a little dog. She could translate.

Big Harry from the Friends of Blind Cat Rescue Group made a really cool picture for me. Do you see it? I love it. Thank you Big Harry.

Thanks to Eddy and family for the rosette. It looks fabulous on my fur.
Also thank you to Adam Dylan and family for the green hat. What a neat present.
Thank you to Hazel Lucy and Buddy who stopped by to concatulate.
Also thank yous to
my good friend Molly (yes Molly, some friends and I are still working on the poopie gas idea. It's coming together nicely I think),
Kaci Sunshine - you're my Sunshine on this rainy day,
and last but not least **drum roll** the original Newmie - Mr. Newman himself.

It's been a rainy day here in Iowa. I slept most of the day. Mom bought a new bag of bonbons yesterday. They were on sale because petsmart isn't gonna sell this kind any more. by Nature organic or something like that. They're delicious. I LOVE bonbons but I'm only allowed to have a few or that Crystal chick will come and visit me. I'll go now and beg for some bonbons. You all have a good night.

Friends, I need some help figuring this out. I overheard Mom say some strange things. What could she be talking about? Here is what I heard:

A week ago it was two ninety-nine.
On Tuesday Mom really needed some but because it was Xpensive with three Oh seven, she only got a little bit.
On Wednesday Mom kicked herself for not getting more because now it had gone up to three seventeen.
On Furrsday I overheard Mom talking that it is just outrageous and how do they Xpect people to be able to afford it. And three twenty-five was just way too much.

There was alot of grumbling and mumbling and Mom didn't look happy at all. Whatever it is, there seems to be some gas involved. It can't be me. I haven't been gassy lately. I admit, sometimes a tiny amount of gas escapes me. But I don't think it's enough for any of the women in my house to notice.

Now I have noticed that we are a little short on cat food. I hope that she is not talking about cat food. I have been asking for seconds a lot lately. Oh please let it not be cat food! Well, I guess I could cut down a little bit if it would help Mom out.

What could Mom be talking about? Any ideas?
Puzzled,
Timo

I've been tagged by my very good friend Moose.

Here is what I am supposed to do.

Name the 5 most annoying things your human does, then tag 5 friends. Here's a few of my Human Pet Peeves....

1. I don't get enough food. Period. It's always gone too fast.

2. Sometimes Mietzi gets to eat in the laundry room and Mom closes the door so that Mietzi can "eat in peace". Very annoying.

3. When Mom gives us Greenies, we get only three pieces. Yes, count them, just three. I'm not supposed to eat dry food or snacks because the Crystal Chick had visited me twice. But Mom, that was years ago, and it was when I was eating only kibble.

4. When Mom sleeps too long, I like to wake her up by licking her hands. It's annoying when she puts her hands under the blanket.

5. Sometimes Mom puts me on a baby scale. I don't like it. I'm a handsome man cat. Who cares about the exact number of pounds and ounces?

Now I am going to tag 5 friends and hope they haven't played this yet.

Tagging:

So here I am on Catster, the place for CATS. And Catster welcomes me with an invitation to attend a free Potty Training Seminar, MOL. Well, I don't use a pot, I use a box. And I don't need any training on how to use my box. I'm quite good at it. It's pretty simple. My fur-Mom showed me when I was a wee kitten and I caught on really fast. You find the box or some other loose material, dig a hole large enough to hold your stuff, you 'go', then you cover it all up. The last part is actually optional. Sometimes I don't cover up, especially the stinky stuff. That way it serves as an alarm clock for Mom.

Mom says the training is for dogs. Really? ROFL, do dogs have to learn how to go pee and poo? Wow, dogs are even dumber than I thought. I'm not too fond of dogs myself. Can you tell? Maybe I should go to the Potty Training class and give them dogs some pointers. I'll think about that.

Going to use the box now,
Timo

It’s Sunday afternoon. The sun is shining. We got a fresh box. My belly is full of blue Buffalo and I got to nibble on my cat grass. Our gas fireplace is turned on. I’m resting on a new blankie that I got from a good friend for Christmas and Mom has sprinkled some nip on the blanket. There is a fly toy waiting for me for later. Mietzi is helping Mom read the Sunday paper. Coffee is percolating for Mom. Mietzi has a mini mouse waiting when she feels like playing. There is some nice, soft music playing. Mom is home all day today.

These are some of our favorite things. These are the things that make me happy. There is this woman that I saw on TV a little while ago, I think her name is Opawh, and she told people what her favorite things are. It’s all stuff you can buy and some of it is very high priced. No way could we or even wanted to spend that much money on purrs and shampoo and boots, ugg. Christmas is all about the presents any more and there comes this woman on TV a few days before Christmas and goes right along with all the consumerism. I got all my favorite things right here.

Hugs,
Happy Timo

Aaaaaaaaaah!
I'm breathing a big sigh of relief. The purr board is back to normal. Hey, did you see on the community home page, in the lower right corner, there is now a link called "purr board changes". It looks like the top cats and tech cats are listening to us and they even appologized for all the confusion that they have caused. Friends, feel free to leave a comment there again. It will not show up right away. It will be moderated again. But you know - they are listening and that is a good thing. Kudos to top cat for that.

I am just a teeny tiny bit worried because top cat mentioned that they are trying out different versions of the purr board. I am just worried we are going to have comments on comments on things that cats commented on other cat's comments again.

I am repeating here what I wrote as a comment (it's being moderated):

But please, please, please, Top Cat, I beg you on my knees, don't do anything diffurrent to the purr board. We are happy with it the way it is now. We don't knead to know everything every cat does.
Respectfully,
Timo Cat

You go to the community homepage and in the lower right corner click on "A couple changes and fixes of note". I don't know if you can even see my post there because it says: awaiting moderation. So I'm just wondering. Is that comment field in the blog not for voicing our opinions? The blog text says "Let us know what you think". Well, I did that. Are negative opinions not allowed? Here is what I posted. It's not the most courteous post ever, I wrote too fast to be super courteous. But it's my opinion and I don't think it's offensive.

quote:
This is not good. It’s horrible. Please change it back to the way it was before. The purrboard is so cluttered. All this cat x commented on cat y. And there is a gazzillion of those. There is no room on the purrboard for the information that I really want. I just want: who wrote new diary entries? Who posted new pictures? The way it was.

Well, just in time for Halloween Catster did something horrible. They added this new feature. In your friend updates and purrboard you are being notified of ALL the comments that ALL your friends made on ALL their friend's diaries AND photos. There is a gazillion of entries of all the comments posted. It makes the purrboard very crowded and looks horrible.

I don't care about ALL the diaries that my friends post on. Some of them are diaries of cats that I'm not even friends with. When I comment on somecat's diary, I read others comments too and that's enough. This is information overload. I don't need to know about every poopie or burp that everycat here makes. I just want to see if my friends wrote new diary entries or put new pictures up.

CATSTER, PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE.

FRIENDS - all of you: If you don't like this you need to tell Catster. On your community homepage, in the lower right corner there is "Updates From Catster, A couple changes and fixes of note". You can write a comment right in there if you don't like this. Or if you do like it you can comment there too. Please do, so that Catster knows.

I'm not combing through all of these comments. I'm going to read a book instead.

I know you are all waiting for the embarassing story that I have to tell about Mom and cleanup, like Mietzi hinted in her diary. Well, it will have to wait. First I need to tell you that Mom came home with this new catfood today. It says "Newman's Own" on the can and I was eager to try it because my friend Newman made it.

So I gobbled it all down real fast. Wait a minute... Is that fish I'm tasting? Yep, too late. Puke, all the Newman's Own came back out. I think I'm allergic against fish. It always makes me puke. So why would Mom give me catfood that has fish in it? Well, first how can you not try something that Newman made? And Mom swears she only read "made with organic chicken". Mom, next time read the fine print. It says right here "chicken & Salmon formula for cats". Salmon is a fish, Mom. I can't eat that. Jeez.

I wish Mom would stop experimenting with my food. I'm quite happy with the Blue Buffaloes that I usually eat. I got a can of Buffaloes after the Newman came back up. I like my Buffaloes sliced, not flaked. Is that so hard? Thank you very much.

Poor Mom. First she had to clean up Mietzi's Bunny puke and now my Newman puke. Well, it's her own fault. I need to run and see if we have enough cans of blue Buffaloes.

Meow to you later,
Timo

Dear friends,

I won't be here for awhile. I just found out that Mom is leaving us. You see, we have this German Grandma (and Grandpaw) and they want Mom to come and visit. They say they have forgotten what she looks like, so she needs to fly over there. I was not aware that Mom can fly. I don't know exactly when this will happen but I think it will be soon. There are two suitcases out in the living room. Mietzi and I have tried them out and we both fit with room to spare. Mietzi is determined to go with Mom but I'm more of a home body and I think I'll stay here.

Mom got on a big Greyhound several months ago and got a new passport. She had to go all the way to Chicago to the German Consulate. I told Mietzi if she wants to go, she'll need a pussport. Mietzi thinks she doesn't need one because she is an American Shorthair. See, Mom was not born here, that's why we think she needs a passport. I warned Mietzi that she better get a pussport or the Europeans might mistake her as a European Shorthair and then they'll want to keep her in Europe.

Anyhow, Mom says she really needs to start packing and she won't have time to turn the puter on for us. A neighbor will come over and feed us but she doesn't know how to turn the puter on. I hope I can talk Mietzi into staying here or I will be really lonely without her.

Will miss you guys.
Meow to you later,

I got selected as a Daily Diary Pick yesterday. What a surprise and an honor. Thank you so much, Diary Girl *wink*. I had a very nice day. I played with a fishing pole toy and chased Mietzi around.

I wanted to meow a big thank you to all my friends who made comments in my diary. You are so nice and I love you all:
Gleek my good friend - yes, the diary girl does like stories about Big Foot.
Hazel Lucy - I'm doing so good, I don't need my last dose of pain meds.
Sugar Bear - you are a sweet cat. I plan on eating just as much as before I lost my teeth, if not more, MOL.
Luke - thanks for your purrs and concats, buddy.
Thomas - we do look alike! Maybe we are cousins. We are two handsome man cats for sure.
Henry - thank you for your concern. Your purrs helped me feel good again.

Also thank you to all the furrs who sent gifts. Love you all:
Buddie - for the pawmail and the blue ribbon. Thanks for purring for me. Wow, those ribbons are powerful. I feel so good now.
Tinkerbell, Bear Bush and the Bush Family - for the Mighty Paw. Te He, Mighty Paw, that's what I had.
My dear friend Molly - yummy Shrimp. Mmmmh, I gobbled those right up. Thank you! I am feeling good again.
Adam Dylan and family - a beach ball. I played with it yesterday and it was great fun. Thank you so much. I am still purring for you, Adam. Hope things with your food go well.

Thank you, dear friends for all your well wishes and purrs for my paw and my teeth. I appreciate it so much and I am all healthy again. Mom talked to German Grandma yesterday on the phone and told her about the dentist pulling three of my teeth. German Grandma doesn't know that much about cats but she's nice. She came to visit two years ago. Anyway, she asked my Mom if cat's teeth don't just fall out by themselves. Well, yes, I suppose they do. But before they fall out they rot away and get infected and it hurts if you want to bite into a nice, big steak. So, yes, those teeth had to come out. My paw is back to normal again. Thank catness.

Thank you all for caring. Big purrs and hugs,
Timo

Oh thank goodness, the swelling in my paw has almost completely gone down. I think I'll be O.K. Thanks for your purrs. They helped. Yesterday at the vet, the nice Lady vet grabbed me and wanted to show my swollen paw to the other Doctor. But he was busy. Geez, I was being shown around like a freak.

I showed my paw to Mietzi and told her that I'm the Big Foot Monster. She didn't believe me. The vet looked at my mouth too yesterday and it's healing really good. I just got my pain meds squirted into my mouth. As Mom was doing that, I let her know that my mouth hurts a bit. But it will feel better in a minute now that I have my meds.

Mom apologized a hundred times to me about not taking my Badge of Courage off sooner. I tried to play on her sympathy and begged for kibble. But the vet said no hard food for at least two days after my surgery. So I didn't get any.

You all have a fun weekend. I've had enough excitement to last me for a long time.

I'm going to clean my normal sized paws now,

I was doing so good. I was eating and my teeth didn't hurt much at all. I had decided to keep my Badge of Courage on for a while longer because, well, because I'm courageous. I wouldn't let Mom take it off last night or this morning. So tonight when she came home from hunting she wanted to take it off for sure.

And, horror, my paw was all SWOLLEN. Mom hurried and got it off really fast. I meowed like crazy when she cut through the bandage because my paw hurt SO MUCH. Mom was making all these weired noises and kept saying she is so sorry. She grabbed the carrier and I walked in by myself because I knew she meant business. There was no point in argueing with her. To the vet I went in a hurry.

Mom had called while we were on the way. When we got there the receptionist was gonna make Mom wait. By this time Mom was close to losing it. I had seen water drip down her face while we were in the car. Thankfully the nice vet Lady came out just at that moment, and Mom said she doesn't know how long the circulation in my paw had been cut off and IS IT GOING TO BE MUCH LONGER? Well, say no more. My friend, the nice vet Lady, Doctor S. took me to a room right away. She felt my paw and it feels warm. That is good. You don't want it feeling cold or hot she said. She asked me if I can walk on it. So I showed her. Yes, I can walk on it. I can type with it too but kinda slow because I keep hitting two keys at once.

The vet thinks I will be just fine. The swelling should go down in 12 hours. Mom is supposed to leave it alone and call her tomorrow. Now Mom is watching me every five minutes to see if the swelling went down yet.

Kitties, listen to Grandpaw Timo: If you get a Badge of Courage you can't keep it. You'll have to part with it when you get back home, no matter how courageous you are. Mom just came back in and she smells like neighbor boy cat. The nerve of that woman. She let me sniff her hands but I walked away in protest. She said she had to help cut neighbor boy cat's claws.

I'll ask Mom to put some pictures of my huge paw up soon.
Bye furrs *Timo waves with his swollen paw*

Paw Script: If you could say a purr and a prayer for me to be OK please, I would apurreciate it so much. You don't have to give me any gifts. Safe those for the kitties that are much sicker, but Mom is still very worried. So some purrs might help to calm her down. Thank you.

Hi furrs,

Boy, what a day I’ve had. I went in for my Rabies shot yesterday and they made me come back today to mess with my teeth. Well, call me Grandpaw, I've lost three teeth. I took this long nap at the vet and when I woke up those three teeth were missing. My teeth had gotten too absorbed with themselves says Mom. I’m back home now. I’ve been hanging out in the kitchen ever since I came back home, I think that was three hours ago. I’m so hungry!

Get this: Mom forgets to give me breakfast this morning and do you know what the vet offered me after my nice, long nap? Hills Science Diet. When Mom picked me up the vet tech told her that I ate nothing and maybe I don’t like their food. “You got that right, Lady” I thought. I don’t like that food. I want my Blue Buffaloes. They told Mom I could have a SMALL meal today. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Small meal? No way. I’m hungry! I got some oral pain meds squirted into my mouth, so I feel no pain, MOL. So far Mom only gave me ¾ of my normal meal.

Now the good thing is Miss Ginger Vitis did not visit me. I don’t like her. She is almost as bad as Miss Crystal. I was looking for a bird at the vet’s. Gleek’s vet had this neat talking bird. I asked the other cats there if they had seen a big bird. They thought I was tripping on the pain meds, MOL.

The vet tech called Mom on the way back home to tell her that they forgot to put my collar back on me. Why did they take it off in the first place? I didn’t give them purrmission to do that. So I had to borrow Mietzi’s collar because Mom wants me to wear one. It’s easier for her to hold me and give me my pain meds that way. I’m wearing a girly collar, oh the shame.

Mom tried to take my white Badge of Courage off but I always stand up, rub against her and beg for food. I need to go and talk to Mom about the food situation. You spend all day away from home and can’t even get a decent meal around here.

Hungry purrs,
Timo

Where did I end up? At the dredded VET. Because it's actually "Take your Cat to the VET week. I got a Rabies shot. That's not too bad. But the Doc, it was a nice Lady Doc, insisted of looking into my mouth and it turns out I have a bum tooth. I have to go back in tomorrow to get my teeth cleaned and maybe the bum tooth has to come out. Rats! The guy Doc will take care of my toothies tomorrow. The Lady said he LIKES working on cat's teeth. Weird. I would much rather have the Lady Doc again. She is nice.

Now get this: Mom wants me to start a Revolution! She asked the vet about Revolution and the vet said sure I can have a Revolution. It's gonna do me some good. I don't really want a Revolution. I wonder what gave Mom that idea? I'm a real gentle and nice guy. It looks like Mietzi is supposed to join me in the Revolution. Now what kind of Revolution should we start? Cats Rule and Dogs Drool? Well, that's kind of obvious. This requires some thought. You guys gotta help me think. I've never started a Revolution before. I'll think on it while I get my bum tooth fixed.

I wonder what the piece of paper means that Mom taped to the kitchen cabinet? It says: TIMO NO BREAKFAST!

Let's start a Revolution

Oh nooos. This week is "Take your Cat to the V-E-T week". Mom mumbled something about me being due for my rabies shot soon. Rats. I am declaring this week "Take your Cat to the Diner week". I think that will make us all much happier.

On another note: I was reading diaries and Mom clicked on Calvin's for me and in the time it took to load, Mom could have went and made coffee and watched it perculate and by the time the coffee was done, Calvin's diary MIGHT have been done loading. But she couldn't do that because Mietzi was sleeping in her lap. So she just grabbed an old issue of Cat Fancy and got some reading done. I know Calvin's diary is huge. It probably takes up a whole book shelf on the catster puter but this is ridiculous.

Going to the Diner,

Yesterday, after Mietzi made sure there weren't any dates coming in thru the windows (see her diary) , we watched that cooking show. It has a bad name that I'm not allowed to say, so I'm just calling it the H-E-doubletooth pick's kitchen show. It's on the TV channel with the Fox. It's about people competing to be the best cook and then they get to be head chef at a new restaurant. They cook all this yummy food, my mouth always waters. And there is this slightly crazy chef cook who yells at eveybody. I don't care for all the yelling but that's humans I guess.

Mom was watching to and we always hope that she gets a hint and cooks us a nice medium rare steak. Or a perfect monkfish. Or scallops - golden brown. I try to stare at her when they cook something really delicious and I tell her: See Mom, that doesn't look too difficult. You could cook that. But so far no luck. She hasn't re-created any of the pawsome recipies from the show. Yesterday in the middle of the show I tried a new strategy. I layed down on our stove (see above picture). Mom! See this here? Use it to cook me something marvelous like them people on the TV.

And then there was another cooking show on right after this one. Jackpot. The only bad thing was, I was very hungry at the end of our TV night.

Make mine rare please,
Timo

So Mom went to our local Animal Rescue League today to drop off some food for the kitties. No, she didn't bring them Nutro. The Nutro brands are not good food (Max Cat and Natural Choice). A pet food should have three good protein sources in the first five ingredients. Max Cat food doesn't have that. They have alot of corn gluten, wheat flower, ground rice. Natural Choice has Wheat Gluten. I don't eat anything with Gluten any more. I had a urinary tract blockage twice and I think it came from all those grains in my food. That's why we want the Nutro ads removed from the vet blog and from Dogster. You can find more info about this here Say No to Nutro

Back to my story. Mom brought them kitties a bag of premium food. Something that Mietzi and I eat too. While she was there, she looked at the adoptable kitties. No, we are not getting one. She just can't resist looking. There were these two humans who asked the volunteer about a cute kitten. The volunteer said there is a waiting list for that one. Because she is a Snowshoe kitten. The humans said how pretty she is and "how long is that waiting list again?". I just don't think it's fair that humans always go for the pretty cats. And the color of your furr says nothing about your purrsonality. Mietzi and I are just plain tabby cats but we sure have alot of purrsonality. We are really nice and Mom is so happy to have us. So don't judge a book by it's cover.

I'm off to look for some pictures of Snowshoes to see why everyperson thinks they are pretty.

I am saying NO to all the Nutro ads that are on the vetblog and on dogster too. Nutro (Max Cat and Natural Choice) is not a good food. They had many recalls. They had two recalls last year and cats and dogs are still getting sick and pet parents are still complaining about the food. This food is not safe to feed. I am very upset that the Nutro ads are plastered all over the vetblog. It looks like Nutro food is endorsed by the veterinarian.

We want all these ads removed. Cats and dogs here on this site have died from eating Nutro food. This advertiser doesn't fit with the Catster community at all. Many cats here prefer premium pet food. We tried to talk to HQ but they are not answering.

Our mechanical predator (Mom calls him car) is still at the car vet. They said he could go home last Saturday but because of the bad weather a spindle didn’t come in. The spindle is here but now it’s the bear ring. Apparently the car’s bear doesn’t ring because he is cracked. I think the little bell that he rings must be cracked. They have already put a new bear in there, because they say without a good bear ringing, the car won’t be safe. The new spindle also has been installed. So the new bear can now spin and ring his bell. I tell you, cars are complicated.

Then the insurance man has to come back a second time to look at the car again. There is some cosmetic damage that the car vet would like to fix also. If it doesn’t get fixed the paint may chip later on. Sounds like our car is vain. He wants to get cosmetic surgery.

In the meantime Mom is stuck here with us. A friend drove her to church yesterday and also shopping because we had hit a major crisis. We were out of kitty litter!!! Don’t worry. We keep Mom entertained while she waits for the car to get all better. We’ve been asking her to play with us with our new Christmas toys. We need to test them out real good. They might need to be exchanged if they aren’t up to snuff. Also we’ve been asking a lot if it’s not time to eat yet. Usually we have set meal times. But everycat knows that when the humans are home, those times don’t apply (except breakfast always has to be at 6:00 a.m. latest!). So we’ve been asking a lot if it’s not time for 2nd breakfast? for lunch? coffee time? snacky time? supper time? snack before night night time?

Keeping Mom entertained,

Our mechanical predator has a big owie. His front right rubber boot is all twisted around. He is at the shop right now being looked over. We don’t know when he will be well enough to come home. Mom says they haven’t even started treating him yet. There are people called “Insurance Company” who are battling over who gets to fix him up. And they won’t make a decision until Monday. Oh, I should probably start at the beginning:

It was Thursday during her lunch break, says Mom, when she was driving in our predator thru an intersection and suddenly, BAM, she got hit by a Lady’s predator that came from the right. Mom says there are strict rules in place about when those predators can move. If it’s green they can go, if it’s red they need to stop. Mom says she had green, the other one had red. The Lady says she had green. We believe Mom of course. Mom doesn’t lie.

Now for the important thing: No hoomans were hurt during this. Mom saw the other Lady at the last second and hit the brakes and our predator had slowed down quit a bit when he got hit. The airbags on the other predator went off but ours never did. Mom was worried about the other Lady right after it happened but, what luck, an ambulance just happened to drive by. Mom flagged that down and they determined every hooman is fine.

Mom says she is “stuck” at home now until our predator feels well enough to carry her places again. I think that’s great. Mom can spend more time with us.

Thankful that Mom wasn’t hurt,
Timo

Mom took our mechanical predator to somebody because he needed to have new oil. The old oil had gotten all yucky. And he needed to have his rubber boots rotated and realigned so that he can walk straight. While Mom was waiting for that, she walked to one of the big hunting grounds. And there it was. The movie that got away from Mom at the big Day after Thanksgiving hunt. Mom pounced right on it before one of the other hunters could carry it of. Then she walked back to pick up the mechanical predator. Boy, am I happy that I don't wear boots. I'd hate for somebody to come and rotate them and realign them.

Mom says having a mechanical predator is real expensive. He costs more than Mietzi and I combined. I don't even know why we keep him. I use him only once a year. I go inside and he carries me to the vet. But I would much rather walk to the vet. Or if the vet would come to my house that would be even better. I could show him my bed and my toys. And we could hang out on the patio and share some kibble.

Mom, let's chase the mechanical predator away. We don't need him.

Did you all have a happy Thanksgiving with lots of turkey? Did your pawrents go on the big "Day after Thanksgiving hunt" yesterday. I heard it's the biggest hunt of the year for the hoomans. Mom got up real early. She wanted to get this one movie, but it was already gone.
She did get some nice sweaters - I'm happy that I don't wear sweaters.
She got some warm boots - Thank catness I don't have to wear boots.
She got a set of flatware real cheap - Why would anybody want to eat with forks and knifes?
She caught two nice, cuddly blankets - Now those we can use. Good job Mom.
She stood in the checkout line for over an hour to snatch a cat bed on sale for me - Ooh Mom, I love you too.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends. Love you all.
Headbonks,
Timo

Thanksgiving came early for some cats at the Des Moines Animal Rescue Legue. Yesterday Mom packed up some of our cat food. I asked her just what does she think she is doing. She told me not to worry. This is food that we don't like. It's Wellness beef and salmon. Mom had bought in bulk and we had like a dozen cans of it (the big ones). No cat here likes it. I hope the shelter kitties like it. I am glad she didn't give any of the good Fancy Feast away. We are eating mostly Fancy Feast now but also some Wellness. Just the chicken and turkey, not the jucky beef/salmon.

Happy Thanksgiving shelter cats. Enjoy.

So this morning I was reading the mewspaper and one of the headlines in the Des Moines Register is "Pawlenty to address Iowa GOP tonight". So now they speak Catster in my local mewspaper. That's nice. I was eager to read about all the animals that will be addressing the Iowa GOP tonight. Imagine my disappointment when I found out Pawlenty is actually the name of the Governor of Minnesota. Oh, no animals addressing the GOP, just a hooman. All you cats in Minnesota, please forgive me, but I have never heard of the man before. I think I still might like him. His first name is Tim. My own name is derived from Timothy. And maybe he has plenty paws at home?

In other Mews: Meowmy needs to up my weight in my profile from 12 to 13. I had a checkup the other day and I gained a little bit of weight. I'm not worried. Don't these hoomans know that winter is coming and we need extra reserves for the cold days?

I wanted to apologize for the summer background on my page. Meowm says she just doesn't have time. Oh well, Saylorville Lake is pretty in the summer and winter.

Maybe I'll get to meet Mr. Pawlenty some day?

Whoopsy I missed my Gotcha Day. It was yesterday Sept. 6. I came here 3 years ago and now I'm 6 years old. That means I have been living here half of my life. Wow, I remember it like it was yesterday when Meowmy came to the shelter and got me.....

I used to have a family but they gave me back to the shelter because they were mooving. The shelter put me in a big room together with 4 females. That was nice. The room had alot of toys and cat trees and food and really everything a cat needs. When I got there I told the other cats about my hoomans mooving. I told them they'd get me back when they are done mooving. I didn't really know what mooving was. Emily, I remember Emily, she said: "Ha Rocky, they are not coming back." (I was called Rocky back then, can you believe that). "They moved away and left you behind", said Emily. "Happens to alot of us. Humans are cruel that way".

Emily thought I wouldn't find new hoomans. She thought I was too old and not pretty enough. Emily was a beautiful cat. Long white and gray furr. So one day Meowmy walks in and she goes straight to me, picks me up and gives me cuddles. Usually I don't like to be picked up but that time I was on my best behavior. Then she played with all the other cats too.

Now what is this? She is leaving! Oh she is talking to one of the shelter hoomans. Now she is sitting at a table with some papers in front of her. I said to the other cats: "That is my new Meowmy. She is gonna take me home".
No" said Emily, "not you. She is here for me of course. She played with ME".
"Emily" I said, "she played with all of us but I was the only one she picked up".
"I'm telling you Rocky, she won't take you. I'm much prettier", replied Emily.

Oh no. Now one of the shelter hoomans is bringing a dog over. And it's a big one and he is walking him right up closed to our room. Now he tells my Meowmy: "He doesn't like dogs".
Well, of course I don't like this animal that is like 6 times bigger than I and he smells bad and he barks at me. Well doh.

Oh no, my new Meowmy is leaving, sniff. Emily is right. Nobody wants me. Every hooman wants a kitten and I'm not pretty either. Maybe she wanted a cat that likes dogs. Too bad.
Hey what is this. She is back. Took only half an hour or so. Now they are coming into the room, oh I am so excited. She is coming for me! They put a cardboard box on the floor. I know what that is. That's for her to carry me in. "Wait", I say, "how long will we be travelling? Do you have cat food at home? I better eat a bite before we go". And I did. I went to the bowl with the kibble and started chowing down. "He likes his food", says the shelter hooman. "Rocky, Rocky", says Emily, "you are not going anywhere. She came for ME". And with that Emily jumps into the box! The shelter hooman says: "No Emily, not you. Rocky is getting a new home today. But we'll find you a home too".

Then she picks me up and puts me into the box. "Wait - I'm not done eating", I say. And we are off to my new home. Yep, I remember it like it was yesterday.

Yesterday was such an exciting day. Alfie and I went to the State Fair. I had brought some food to the Pen Paws Cafe and some furs requested food that I didn't have. So I picked that up while we were at the fair. I got funnel cakes, watermelon, fried pickles on a stick and Scrappie wanted Alligator on a stick. We had to ask a doggie to sniff one out for us but we did find one. Oly wanted mouse sprinkles on her funnel cake. I sent Mietzi out to catch a mouse. You can see a pic on my page of her and me with the mouse.

We saw lots of animals at the fair. Some big scary ones, some cute cuddly ones. We went to the Bill Riley talent show and there were some kids singing, dancing and stepping. Alfie thought we could sing much better than those kids, so we tried to get on stage but we just couldn't get thru. There were too many hoomans. Maybe next year.
There is a fun garden with lots of purrty flowers and a tunnel made out of big flowers. We had great fun racing thru the tunnel.

Then we got back to the Pen Paws Cafe with all the food and while we all had a big helping of eveything I showed the furs some photos of the animals we had seen. I asked if anyfur knew what the name of the little bird is. Molly was the first to meow that she is an Ostrich. And she named the Ostrich Freckles. All in all it was a purrfect day but now I'm really tired.

I love the fair,

Yey, it's State Fair Time in Iowa! Meowmy went Saturday with some friends and she brought food back for us. So I went to my Pen Paws group Sunday morning and shared the food with them. My friend Alfie from England walks in to the Pen Paws Cafe and had some chow. And then he suggested the two of us go to the fair together. We had some furs ask for fair food that my Meowmy didn't bring back, so we needed to get that. Well, Meowmy could only carry so much.

Alfie and I had a great day at the fair. There are some photos here on my page of the animals we saw. I'll tell you more about our day at the fair later. Meowmy says I need to get off the puter now, she needs to go to work. Mmp.

I love the fair,

Meowmy has a shampoo for her furr that smells like coconut. Then she went and got a conditioner that smells like mint. And she has purrfume that smells like orange. You know, purrfume is that water that they spray on themselves. Now Meowmy smells like a fruit cocktail. Well, mint isn't really a fruit but you get the idea.

I wonder why hoomans want to smell like these things? I think Meowmy would smell much better if she would use a purrfume with fresh cat scent. There is nothing like a fresh smelling cat. It's the best scent in the world, well, besides tuna and nip maybe. We work hard on smelling good efurry day and it shows. Fresh cat is irresistable. That's why most doggies want to bury their noses in our furr and the hoomans give us kisses all the time.

Need to go and smell Mietzi. She smells sweet.
Smell ya later,

I like green trees and green forests and I like to eat green grass and I like cats with green eyes. I want my green back. Are the dogs gray too? I don't know. Need to run over and look.

Why is it so gray? They say All cats are gray by night. I KNOW. It's so you can see Skeezix's new green sunglasses better! What do you think?

Meowmy opened a can of food for us for breakfast and the can attacked her! Yep, she showed us. She had a big gash in her hand and blood was running out. Meowmy screamed Ow! and ran to the bathroom to search for the biggest Band Aid in the house. Owie. When she came back I was up on the counter eating the food out of the can. Well, no use letting good food go to waste, right? And this was a new kind of food that she had caught for us. I really really really like it. It's too bad that the can bit Meowmy. I don't know if we'll get any more of this delicious new food if the cans keep hurting her.

I offered to lick her owie but she said that's sweet but No Thank You. Doesn't she know that you are supposed to put cat spit on it when you have an Owie? My fur Mom taught me that. Cat spit heals anything. Oh, Meowmy said she doesn't think she'll need stitches but she might go to the doc anyway tomorrow, she might be due for a tetanus shot.

Healing purrs for Meowmy,

The summer so far has been very rainy and colder than normal. Meowmy said she has been saving alot by not having to turn the air on. Not turning the air on? What does she mean? Is there no air? I know there is air here because I can breath just fine.

Now the hoomans are pretty big and powerful but I didn't think that they control when there is air or not. I thought the Lord made the whole earth and also the air in it. And he made cats and dogs and mousies (yippee) and the hoomans too. Purrlease tell me that Meowmy is not in control of the air. She is so forgetful sometimes.

Last Sunday something scarry happened. We had a tornado warning. I know it was already a week ago but I beg Meowmy to write in my diary more often, I purr and meow and make my cutest face but she says she is busy.

So anyway, it was a lovely day in the 70s. Then in the afternoon it got cold real fast and it got dark. Meowmy had the talky picture box on and they said we should go into the basement because a tornado is coming our way. Then the loud dog houler went off (the hoomans call it a siren). We don't have a basement, so Meowmy grabbed Mietzi and put her in our bathroom's linen closet. Then she came back and wanted to pick me up. But I was half asleep and didn't know what was happening, so I tried to hide under the table. She said we need to hurry and this is no game. So I let her carry me into the bathroom. She closed the bathroom door and let Mietzi out of the closet.

I don't know if you have tornados where you live but they are very dangerous. We just had to wait. I kept looking at the ceiling because I heard the wind houl and it rained really hard. Mietzi was purrty good but she can't sit still furr long. She kept asking what will we play next. She kept running up on the bathroom cabinet and into the tub and out and back again. Then she started pulling open some drawers and cabinet doors. She hissed at me once because I was in her space (says she). Then she discovered Meowmy's hairbrush and rubbed her furr all over it. She said it feels really good. When Mietzi had played enuff with the hairbrush Meowmy brushed my furr with it and Mietzi is right - it does feel good. Meowmy said she needs to buy a new hairbrush now. I don't see why, that one worked really good.

We waited about half an hour, then the wind and the rain died down. The tornado ended up turning north and it missed us. It did some minor damage in another town, no hoomans or furrs were hurt.

Thankful,
Timo

June is Adopt A Cat month. At the place where Meowmy gets our food, there are also cats and dogs for adoption. There was a cat named Mia. She is 14 years old and used to have a good home. But her hooman passed away and so she ended up in the shelter. Meowmy was seriously thinking of bringing her home. She is a beautiful tabby like us (the cat, not Meowmy) and the shelter people said she has a sweet purrsonality. Meowmy thought she deserves a good home to live out her remaining years. My biggest concern was Do we have enuff food furr another cat? So Meowmy opened up the pantry and Yes there was plenty of food there. Meowmy said if that runs out she'll go hunting furr more. So I thought well O.K., as long as there is enuff food I guess it's OK. I'm a shelter cat myself and I remember how happy I was when Meowmy picked me.
The next time Meowmy went to the food place, Mia was not in her cage. The shelter people said Oh yeah Mia got adopted.
If you are thinking about adopting a cat, don't forget about the senior cats. Everybody wants a kitten but the older cats are not so wild and have alot of love to give.

Happy purrs furr Mia,

We won, we won, we won! I'm so excited. Do you remember when we did all the decorated cards for dogvice/dogfession to raise food furr the shelter dogs? Well, some of our cards are winners and yesterday a big box arrived at our house. In it was a ScoopFree Slide Litter Box. Kool! It's all put together and sitting next to our regular box. Mietzi already tried it out. I think she used that one because I deposited "a bomb" in our regular box, MOL.

dogvice/dogfession is now called The Pet Postcard Project and you can win kool stuff too by sending in your cards.

Our cards that won are:
First one is of a black & white cat that lived with Meowmy a long time ago, named Moritz. The text says "Please still love me and take care of me when I'm old. I was your faithful friend for many years"
That brought tears to my eyes when Meowmy made that card.

The next one pictures Mietzi on top of a ladder complaining "I wish the dog would help more with the house work"

Then we have a card of old me helping Mommy with her craft projects. That one actually won a price for "most creative cat". Yep, Mommy needed lots of help from me with this project.

Last but not least is a card featuring Mietzi and me fighting. The caption says "Show your teeth when fighting. It will scare your enemy". In this one Mietzi won for being the naughtiest cat, MOL.

You can see our cards by clicking here . You have to scroll down a bit, past "April Pet Postcard Project Winners". Remember to send in your own cards purrlease. For every card you send shelter dogs get one pound of food AND you can win something.

Thank you soo much Nikki Moustaki, creator of The Pet Postcard Project www.petpostcardproject.com , for sending us this kool litterbox.

The other day Meowmy was in the Petfood store buying food furr us. And in walks a Greyhound (with hooman). And then another three Greyhounds (also with hoomans). And then they sat up a table and put out information. This was the Greyhound adoption group. The same group that Meowmy's collegue adopted Autumn from (see diary entry below about Autumn). So Meowmy walked over and petted all the dogs. They are soooo sweet she says. So mellow. She told the hoomans that she has two cats. They said that two of the dogs are used to being around cats. Meowmy! Don't you even think about it!

Autumn came to Meowmy's office twice so far. She only stayed furr about two hours. Want to slowly get her used to it. All the hoomans in the office came and went "Ooooh what a nice doggy", and they petted her alot. I want to go to Meowmy's office too! I want to be admired by the hoomans and have them say Oooh what a nice kitty.

Jealous Timo

A few days ago Meowmy came home and she smelled like dog. Big dog that is. So I gave her a questioning look and she explained. The big dog is a Greyhound and her name is Autumn. She is seven years old and she used to run races together with other Greyhounds. Then after she was done racing the hoomans had her have puppies for a few years and now something furrtastic has happened in her life. My Meowmy's collegue adopted her! He brought her in to the office the other day, so Meowmy got to meet her.

She says Autumn is the sweetest dog ever. Very, very nice. Still a bit shy, but who wouldn't be. She is in a new place. She now has one dog sisfur and three cat siblings. She shows no aggression at all towards any of the other furrs in the house. One of the cats got curious and went into Autumns crate to investigate. Autumn was outside the crate and saw the cat but never did anything. Meowmy's collegue is so happy that they have Autumn and his two skinchildren are too.

Meowmy said that some hoomans make the Greyhounds run races and they bet money on who wins. Money, she says, is something that's very important to the hoomans. Mietzi and I like to race too. But we just run furr fun whenever we feel like it and nobody is betting "money" on us. It makes me sad that the Greyhounds have to do something that they may not want to do - and all furr something called "money".

Happy purrs for sweet Autumn,
Timo

This morning in our house:

Mietzi sat at the patio door asking if she can go out purrty please.
Meowmy said no, she needs to leave soon.

I sat next to my Da Bird toy asking Meowmy if she will make the bird fly furr me.
Meowmy said no, she can't play with me now, she needs to go and get her hair done.

"Hair done" I thought, it looks fine just the way it is. Oh, by the way, hair is what the hoomans call the furr that grows on their heads. Meowmy said she needed to get some color put in her hair. This is strange. Hoomans are so preoccupied with looks. Why do they want to put color in their furr? I don't care what color a hooman's or an animal's furr is. It's what's inside that counts, your purrsonality - not outside looks.

Well, on the bright sight, Meowmy did go outside with us when she got back from "getting her hair done". She planted flowers on the patio and we walked around in the beautiful weather. It's sunny and 63 here in Iowa.

I'm taking a nap.

I learned how many eggs a hen lays in a year, and who was the heaviest and longest dog ever recorded. We learned alot about different dog and cat breeds. I like the Puli dog best. And I learned that cats need 16 hours of sleep a day, so I am curling up in my Morgan's bed now. But furrst, another thank you to the admins of Pen Paws for a great time.

Sleepy purrs,

WHOO HEE it's my purrsday. It took Meowmy especially long today to come back from hunting. You know, every morning the hoomans leave to go hunting and at night they come back and sometimes they actually caught something. Meowmy mumbled something about a long day in the office. Whatever I said, where are my treats? And treats she had. She got me new feathers for my Da Bird. Yes, just what I needed. And we got some pawsome food, something natural with duck in it, yummie, and then a can of Blue Buff. Mmmmh, I had to share all with sisfur but oh well. It was enough for us both. For desert we had the rest of the cake that my friends Hobo and Moose had sent over. Mietzi had a present for me too. A little sheep that you can open and put catnip inside. Thanks sis.

Thank you all for the nice gifts on my page. Love them all. Moose I am chasing the rabbit. Alfie I am wearing your pawty hat. Samoa I am rolling your egg around.

I think we are safe. Meowmy didn’t put us up for adoption. She just told me what a good boy I am, and Mietzi got lots of praise too when she was DDP on Friday.

Tomorrow is my purrsday. I am so excited. What am I going to get? Mietzi said I won’t get anything because I just got a Morgan’s bed not too long ago. *sniff* could that be true? I really need a new feather attachment for my Da Bird. My old one is all torn up and a feather is missing. I have tried to think that at Meowmy, looking deep into her eyes and think: Da Bird toy, Da Bird toy. You gotta keep it simple when thinking at hoomans. They are not so smart. They don’t understand long sentences.

Do you know what I really want for my purrsday?
I would like everycat and everydog who reads this, to make one card to send in for the P*I*F FOODraiser For every card we send in, shelter dogs get one pound of food. If you put your address on the back you can win prizes. You just cut out your picture and glue on a 4 x 6 card and write what advise you have for dogs or what you wish for dogs or confess something about dogs. You can do things like: I love dogs, Dogs are fun to play with, Dogs smell funny, I wish all dogs had a home, a dog once chased me up a tree…… the pawsibilities are endless.
Examples are at P*I*F FOODraiser
and www.dogvice.com

I am worried. Lately, when I go to the Catster homepage, for a few seconds it says on the screen: Adoption Mail (8). Then it goes back to Friend Requests.

Adoption Mail?? What's that all about? Did Meowmy put Mietzi up for adoption? And are 8 hoomans actualy interested in taking her? Mietzi can be a pain sometimes but it would be sad not to have her around anymore. I like to wrestle with her.

Or did Meowmy put me up for adoption? Maybe because last Furrsday I let all the kitties in and we had a pawty. But Meowmy told me, when I furrst got here, that I never have to leave again. That I can stay furrever. I had a family once before but then they did something called mooving and they couldn't keep me any longer. I am puzzled. Need to go ask Mietzi what she thinks it all means.

Hugs,

So we all looked up and it came closer and Oliver said “Oh look, it’s our sweet doggie Lexi. She is an Angel now”. And right behind her was angel cat Shamus. They both looked so happy and beautiful. That was a very moving moment.

A little while later somecat said “Look, I see a bird.” Sure enough, in walks another new furriend, Boris from Denver, CO. carrying a bird cage with a blue bird inside. “Oh how purrty.” I said. “But let’s not keep him in the cage. He looks so sad in there.” So we all went on the patio and opened the cage and watched him fly to the next tree.

Back inside cats were asking if there was more food. Now that was a problem. The shrimp tray was long eaten up. We can’t open the food cans that Meowmy has furr us. What to do?? I started mumbling about there being apples and bananas when wait a minute, do I smell cupcakes? Here comes Cleopatra II and her six brofurs from Canada carrying several boxes of cupcakes. “Where do you want us to put these?” she asked. “Um, kitchen is just fine.” I replied. There was a mad rush to the kitchen as everycat wanted a cupcake. “Timo, come and see. There is somecat else who wanted to concatulate you”, said Cleo II. And sure enough, up in the sky were her angel sisfurs Cleopatra and Nefertiti.

I’m afraid to say from here on out things got a little bit out of paw. We had more cats in the place then I can count. I heard a loud crash and down came the antenna from the TV. “I was trying to get in Animal Planet” came the excuse. “I’m sorry”, I said “We don’t have cable, you can’t watch it.” Somecat was nibbling on Meowmy’s plants. “Hey, those could be poisons, you better stop” I told him. I think it was Hobo, he’ll eat anything that smells good. I think Hobo and Moose were there too. I lost track of who all was there. Some cats had turned the puter on and were pmailing cats on catster and giggling a lot. “Be careful, don’t break the puter” I warned. “Oh look” one cat said, “there is a pmail from Buddie, Hazel Lucy’s dear husband. He is calling Timo handsome, hee hee”

Mietzi’s had too much nip tea. Well, she was making pot after pot and had to taste efurry one. She was running zoomies thru the house like mad and a bunch of cats tried to catch her. Other cats had started wrestling matches. One cat told me our litter boxes were in serious need of changing. She was right I’m afraid. So I made an announcement that cats needed to “go” outside on the lawn. Mietzi and her gang came zooming by again, racing up on the kitchen counter, up on the fridge, up on top of the cupboards. And then I got wet! In their hot pursuit they knocked off the watering can for the plants that sits on the fridge. A lot of water spilled on the floor and on me. “OMC, YOU GOTTA CLEAN THIS UP” I yelled. “Start drinking the water. Meowmy will be so mad when she sees this.” Some cats sniffed the water “Yuck, how long has that water been in there”. “Then get some rags out of the laundry room and wipe this up” I ordered.

Wow, I’ve had about enough of celebrating. Plus Meowmy would be home soon. I thanked everycat furr coming and politely suggested they start the journey home. “Oooooh”, said Mitzi and her gang “just when it’s starting to be fun”. I told them they are welcome to come back some other time. Then it was just Mietzi and me again. I curled up for a serious nap. I was exhausted. Pretty soon I was woken up by Meowmy cuddling me and telling me I am a DDP. “I know, I know” I said. Meowmy blamed Mietzi for the antenna and watering can on the floor and me for the stench from the bathroom. We both said it wasn’t us but she didn’t believe us. Then she made some food furr us. Oh no, we were still stuffed. We just took a few licks.

Then I remembered it would be pawsome to have a picture of my DDP from the catster home page. I saw other cats have those. I told Mietzi. She thought Alfie knows how to make those but he was on his way back to England. Who could we ask? We snuck into the computer room (Meowmy was busy cleaning litter boxes) and started pmailing a few furrs. Mietzi was starting to panic. Most furrs were asleep already and nofurr responded. Then all of a sudden three or four pmails came all at once. Thank you so much Flicka, Dusty the Puppycat, Lulu Hogg Bush, Junior Fluffkins for making DDP pics for me.

Hugs,
Your exhausted Timo

Dear furriends,
I had such an amazing day yesterday being a Daily Diary Pick. Thank you for all the rosettes, pawmails. Furriend-requests and well-wishes. I had so many visitors come over and bring gifts, it was a furry fun day.

The furrst to concatulate me was the one who had the farthest to travel - Alfie, who came all the way from the U.K. He brought me a cute ladybug. I said: “Wow, it’s great to see you lad, but what brings you all the way across the ocean?” He told me I was DPP. I said: “noooo, you’re pulling my leg.” So Mietzi and I ran to the puter to have a look and yes, it was true. I checked my pawmail and there was a message from dear Hazel Lucy wishing me a pawsome DDP day.

Well, Alfie was just getting comfortable on the couch (he needed rest after the long trip) when I heard a scratch on the door and there was Samoa, and she had food! Good, I was getting hungry again. Breakfast was like two hours ago. She had a yummy shrimp tray, bless her heart.

We were chowing down on shrimp when something green rolled over the kitchen floor. I jumped “Eeeeek, what IS that.” In walks a cat who I didn’t know yet. His name is Henry. Henry explained that the green thing is a Brussel Ball and maybe we could play a round. Well, I’m always up for play, so we put the shrimp in the fridge and off we went batting that ball around.

We were getting a bit tired when I heard a lot of cats chattering. In walks Emily with all her kitty brofurs and sisfurs. 4 girl and 3 boys in all. Mietzi said: “About time that some more girls show up.” Emily had another ladybug for me. We put it in Meowmy’s flowers together with the one from Alfie and we watched them for a while. Then we got the shrimp tray out again and Mietzi brewed some nip tea and we all played more Brussel Ball. Oh what fun we had. But then, oh disaster, one cat wasn’t paying attention and the ball rolled under the fridge.

We were all laying on our bellies in front of the fridge trying to fish the ball out when somefur called: “Hallooo, anyfur home?” I yelled: “We are in the kitchen, come on through.” In comes another new furriend, Tony from Tennessee. He is in my “Hey! You look like me!” group but I hadn’t met him yet. He walks over and says: “Timo, I just heard, concatulations.” And he sticks this nice blue rosette on my furr. I say: “Furr me? Um thanks pal. Come join in the fun, have some shrimp and nip tea and I’ll get out some catnip mice furr youall to play with.” Mietzi got some milk out of the fridge and started lapping away. I yelled: “Mietzi put that away, you know milk makes you puke.” She says: “Timo, don’t be such a bad host. Maybe the other furrs would like some.”

“I would like some milk” I heard. And in walks Oly with her whole furrmily. Oh my catness, in came 3 girls and 4 boys all of them felines. Oly brought a heart and we had hugs and kitty kisses all around. Then she handed me a scroll and clapped her paws. The scroll said "Concats Diary Pick of the Day". Oly said: “We would have brought our new doggie along but she just came home from spay-surgery. She didn’t feel up for the trip but she sends you doggie-licks.” I said: “Oh poor doggie. Thanks. I’ll meet her another time I’m sure.”

It was getting a bit crowded in the place but Mietzi started giving tours and showed furrs the bedroom with the nice big bed. Lots of room furr lots of furrs. And the bathroom in case anyfurr needs it, and the laundry room and another bedroom. Some furrs were looking out the windows watching birds when one said: ”Hey, that’s not a bird. What is that up there.”
So we all looked up and…

Good Morning everyfur. Wow, I can't believe my sleepy eyes. I am a DPP today. THANK YOU HQ, I am honored.

You probably have noticed the dogs here on my page and have been wondering what they are doing here. Aren't dogs my Pet-Peeves? Says so right up there in my profile. But I invited these two to come on over. They are just puppies. They are real nice.

Well, the dogs are here because the P*I*F (Paw it Forward) group is doing a FOODraiser furr shelter dogs and Mietzi and I are helping. Maybe you would like to help too.

All it takes to provide a pound of food, is to send in a decorated card with your dogvise (advise to a dog) or dogfession (confessions of dogs). We cats can help too! We can send in advice furr dogs or how we feel about dogs or a trick we have played on a dog. Won't you help feed shelter dogs? Get the details at the P*I*F group P*I*F (Paw it Forward) Helping Paws or in my sisfur Mietzi's diary , Lots of examples are at www.dogvice.com Pmail me with any questions. I have a dogfession: Deep down in my heart I really like dogs. They are just too cute.

I ordered me a Morgan's Bed. You know, from Morgan the Pirate Gatto. Morgan sent the eagle off with my bed and I put the peanut butter sandwich out but she didn't come yet. I'll make another one and put it on the lawn tomorrow. My bed is called "Cats on Nip" - how appropriate. I have been into my Nip toys a lot lately. I can hardly wait fur it to get here.

Yesterday we had a surprise visitor. Mietzi and I were hanging on the lawn enjoying the nice sunshine and I turn around and there was a cat sitting about 2 yards away from me. He is a boy. Now, I had to protect Mietzi so I fluffed up all my fur and growled and he ran off. We both ran back to our patio. Meowmy was watching the whole time. Later another neighbor said to Meowmy: Timo was on my Patio earlier. Meowmy said: no, he was with me the whole time. Oh, you must have seen that neighbor's cat. He looks like Timo, just smaller. Timo didn't like him.

Waiting to take a nice long nap in my new bed,

My catnip fish from Harmony’s Mom Eleanor are here! Wow, we had a catfight break out when they arrived. I was opening the envelope when Mietzi had to butt in. She snatched all the fish for herself! I told her there are three and she should take only one, but no – she needed to be the furrst to try them all out. Well, usually Mietzi always gets her way but this time I put my paw down. I was the one who asked Meowmy to order them for us, so I stood my ground and we got into a fight. Meowmy told us to stop fighting or she is taking all the fishies away – Oh no! So we shared. You can see us fight on my page.

I tell you, you gotta get some of these. They are good. Oh, and you are doing something good to – this is a fundraiser for the Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary. Just click on the “Raise A Roof” picture on my page to get your own.

I have a new collar. Meowmy went to that Smart Petstore and bought me one. It's black with gray paw prints. I didn't want nothing too flashy. We didn't used to wear collars because we hardly ever go out.
But we do go out a little - under supervision - and now with spring almost here, Meowmy thought we needed a collar.

Meowmy had bought a collar for me once, when I furrst came to live here but she was in a hurry to get one and just grabbed one and it turned out that it was a dog collar. It fit me fine, but it itched terribly and thankfully Meowmy took it off me. I think it itched so much because it was a dog collar - MOL. This one here is nice. Not itchy at all. Mietzi is getting one next time Meowmy goes shopping. She said she saw a green one, that would be just right fur St. Patty's Day.

Have a fun weekend everyfur.

I have a new favorite toy. Meowmy brought home Da Bird for us and it's furrtastic! She didn't even have it all the way put together and I was playing with it already. It is so much fun! I'm running and jumping and chasing Da Bird. Meowmy says exercise is good for me, will help me shed some more pounds. Oh - if any of you furriends have a scale that works really well for you, pawmail me pawlease, Meowmy is looking for one for us.
I will be one tired kitty tonight.
Yawn,

Dear furriends. I felt I kneaded to start this diary because something terrible has happened. My Bonbons are gone! Yesterday they were in the coat closet but today, when Meowmy put her coat on, I looked and they were gone. I have noticed that I have been getting less and less of my Bonbons and more wet food. And lately I don’t get them at all anymore. But they were still in the house. I could smell them. That was comfurrting.

Yesterday I was asking the kitties in the forum what would be a good food furr me to eat and, to my horror, they all said Bonbons are not good furr me. But I love my Bonbons.

Oww – what am I to do? I looked all over. Where did they go? Who took my Bonbons? Can you help me? Have you seen them? I am missing a ¼ full bag of Hill’s w/d. If you find them can you pawmail me pawlease – urgently.
I admit it: My name is Timo and I am a Bonbonholic.

Purr to you later,
Timo
