Although her surgery was a success, she is by no means out of the woods as yet, and her loving family is diligently watching over her and all of her siblings for the rest of their lives. They have created a very special website called Sugar Rub. If you click on the name, you will be taken to the website! Here you will learn about feline and canine breast cancer and what you can do to detect it in time, educate yourself, and even donate toward research. My other very special friend is my sisfur Oreo’s best friend, AGGIE. She was recently diagnosed with a a very large cancerous tumor behind her soft palate. Her vet didn't take a biopsy, she said she was afraid she would make matters worse, so she took a needle aspiration and they will wait and see what type of cancer it is. She said she hopes it's lymphoma because it responds well to radiation. “HOPING FOR LYMPHOMA” Doesn’t that sound horrible? Hoping for the best of a bad thing. This is why we need to fight and help find a cure for cancer so that our loved ones won’t have to go through such anguish and grief. We are purring and praying for all in need. In the morning mom’s alarm goes off at 4:45. Hoomans say that is insane, but for us kitties, it is the BEST time! My siblings and I usually all sleep with her, so she stays very warm. I can even anticipate the alarm going off because that means one thing to me: BREAKFAST! Mom heads downstairs with a herd of cats, all playing the tune of Jingle Bells with our jingle collars on. She has to shuffle down the stairs so that she doesn’t step on anyone, as SOME of us have a tendency to STOP mid stair (Chance!) or flop over and roll around in her path (Odie!) I get my morning breakfast with my 6 siblings and we take over the whole kitchen floor. While she is dishing our brekkies up, I always wrestle with my brofur Poo. He’s my favorite brofur. Mom cleans our kitty boxes every morning and every evening, and I make it a point to pee and poop while she’s cleaning. *bats big blue eyes at mom and smiles sweetly* Then it’s cat nip time! We get catnip sprinkled all over our kitty condo! After breakfast I lounge in my Morgan’s bed that mom has on the bathroom counter, and I “help” her get ready for work. Sometimes I get to play Q-Tip fetch with her and help make her late for work. *covers mouth with paw and giggles* When she’s ready to come downstairs and gather her things, I wind myself around her legs and look up at her, giving her my CUTEST LILY face, because I know it’s treat time! I put my 2 front paws up on the stove and stretch and say miaaaaaooooowwwwmooooom and bat my hypnotic blue eyes at her. *mom rolls her eyes* I get treats and send her off to work from the comfort of my cushy window seat. Now this is when the fun begins, because she’s gone for the entire day. This is peak mischief time! She has no idea what I do all day, but you can bet it involves Q-Tip hunts, playing Q-Tip fetch, napping, playing with my siblings and doing everything possible that I’m not supposed to do, such as climb to the top of the kitchen cabinets. *covers mom’s ears and whistles innocently* Mom gets home from work at 5:30 and never know what to find… one day we destroyed the paper towels and left a huge mess in the kitchen… on many an occasion she’ll find all of the kitchen drawers pulled open and cabinet doors opened. We are very talented! *beams with pride* Ohhhhhh YIPPIEEE! It’s THAT time again! DINNER! We all race over to her when she walks in the door and shower her with love, for we LOVE her!!!! *mom mutters, you’re HUNGRY. You are CATS, I know better hahaha!* So I wrestle with Poo again, waiting for nummy dinner, and we all chow down. Now that dinner is done, it is time to ignore mom, but she is wise to us and brings out the laser toy, the Undercover Mouse, Cat Dancer and various other toys to keep us busy and occupied. I have to lovingly remind her that it is “always” treat time, as I chatter with her. I like to help her make dinner, but she doesn’t think it’s as cute as I do when I’m up on the counter. I especially love salad! When she makes a big salad, she always gives me my own, and I chew and shred that lettuce to pieces. When she isn’t looking, I taste-test, to be sure her cooking is fit for hooman consumption. She doesn’t seem very appreciative of my diligent efforts. *sticks tongue out at mom, knowing better* Night time is when I help dad with his construction thingies in the basement. I am his little helper! I am also his secretary, receptionist and office manager. Dad has a home office, and I am his best employee! After the hoomans turn off all of the lights, I play with my rattle mice and race about, for I am the queen of the house! One never knows when one may find an errant Q-Tip too! Midnight is the best time to hunt Q-Tips. I get sleepy at this time and drift off in my little bed at night, dreaming sweet Q-Tip dreams and anticipate breakfast in the morning….. I’ve got to run now. I was BORN! Look out world, here comes Lily, CUTEST ... CURLY! It has been one wild ride, quite literally. I was but a tiny 7 week old kitten when mom spied me in the neighbors garage. Their Momkitty had had a litter of 4 beautiful babies, and mom was captivated not only by my stunning blue eyes, but with my attitude and spunk. I waddled about on my stumpy little kitten legs, holding my stumpy little kitten tail high (almost as if in defiance, which I do so well so often as of today) *beams proudly* Well, mom scooped me right up and took me for my first and only bike ride ½ block down the street to my future forever home, clutching me close to her heart. *blissful sigh…* We were only a family of 4 kitties at the time; my grand Q-Tip laden appearance made us a family of 5 kitties! Little did mom know what she was getting into when she picked cutest ME! I grew from charm and innocence to downright naughtiness, defiance and breaking of all rules; as it should be, for I am the Queen of Q-Tips! I’ve taught my humans in those 4 years that it is hopeless trying to get me to “follow the rules” so they have submissively given in to my not listening. HA HA! I now have full run of the kitchen counters and “back talk” whenever mom tries to warn me not to do something. *sticks tongue out at mom* Nyah! Not only am I Lily, it’s my birthday! I must admit that my life has been nothing but fun and happiness since being here. That comes mainly from being an INSIDE kitty; safe and protected from the dangers of the outside world. I have 6 beautiful brothers and sisters (I’m still a little hissy at Chance; he needs to go through his “training” routine MOL) and I love my dog brother and sister. Life is good, life is very happy, and I love my family very much. I just remembered… this is a good one. Mom always takes extra measures to “guard” the hooman dinner so that I don’t, er, “get into it”…. Because I have a WAY of “accidentally” getting up on the counters and “happening” to notice hooman food up there….especially when the hoomans aren't looking. So mom had a big bowl of warm, cheesy pasta with CHICKEN in it sitting on the counter, covered with a towel. She went downstairs to clean MY kitty box... I glanced at the bowl and thought to myself, "boy, does this smell GOOD!!!" *rolls eyes at the towel covering the bowl* Did she even THINK that I KNOW that’s the oldest trick in the book?! I KNOW what's under there! So… I, er, I jumped up on the counter and DUMPED the whole bowl of pasta on the floor!!! Hahahahhahaa!!! I even made it land right side up with the towel still over it, but boy was mom mad!!! I DID IT! Mission accomplished! I ran and hid until the mom-storm blew over, only to reappear as cute and innocent as I am SO good at doing! 7. I MUST make this a Q-Tip related answer, please? I leave my Q-Tips ALL over the house, and afterward, mom collects ALL of them (that she can find) and leaves them for me to play with. But… this is part of my secret stash that I use to weave Q-Tip crowns, Q-Tip necklaces and Q-Tip bouquets for my friends!!!! AND HERE IS THE SECOND ONE! The second thing I'm grateful for is my health. I see so many sick and disabled kitties, and SADLY I see too many abused and abandoned kitties. I can see, I can hear, I can run and play, and my insides are all healthy.
