BURT Mommie talked to her sister late this afternoon...Burt spent the night (last night) in the hospital on IV's....they did test on him and they also took a Biopsy on his liver and his gallbladder, both of which are enlarged. Burt's mommie will pick him up tonight and bring him home...and find out more. The test results won't be back for about four days. Also, his barking new brother, Nacho, had some 'bits and pieces' removed and also spent last night in the hospital... and he will be coming home with Burt today. BURT , who lives in California was very sick this week...very sick....he looks very much like Gibbs (remember, I had my little paw in THAT rescue! hehe) and is a very loving kitty. Anyhow, his mommie had to take him to the vets where he stayed over night....his mommie was very upset and cried.....she loves him very much. On Tuesday, she was outside her apartment complex a half an our early waiting to visit Burt when all of a sudden she saw a furry streak run across her path....it ran up the street and disappeared...she was there for about 15 more minutes and then she just happened to look across the street....it was a busy California street.....she saw little eyes looking at her....the fur face ran as fast as its little legs would carry it across the busy street straight to her...it threw itself into her arms and she scooped it up....she thought: How in the world did you make it across that busy street?? Somefurone must be watching over you!!! She took it to the vets when she went to check on Burt.....the next day she put an ad in Craigs List....the 'owner' showed up the next day.... a very nice but much older woman said she had found this little thing three weeks ago....she was walking down the street and ran into a gang who were dangling a small whimpering furface over an open pit full of fighting dogs...she ran up to them and said she had $40.00 to her name and would give that to them for the little thing on the end of the rope....the men cut it down and she ran with it. It escaped from her the day it jumped into my sisters arms....she told her she could have the little furface...that she could not afford to keep it. When my sister picked Burt up (who was feeling a little better) she also took the six pound little Chihuahua home too....Burt didn't know what to think of the hairless little furface and neither did his sister, Venus, but they knew that it had been saved from a terrible death and they were glad. Burt told Nacho (his name now) that as long as he was here on Earth he would help protect little Nacho from any harm but that he had a good home now...he also told him that Angels Buddie and McKenna had visited him in the vet hospital and told him all about how Nacho would find his forever home....with him.....and Burt sees it is true!!!! Burt is very secure with his remaining days on Earth because he knows he will get the best care possible and he also knows that he has his Angel family watching over him.....he knows that Angels Buddie and McKenna will be there for him and for his mommie and sister, Venus...who, by the way, loves little Nacho already!!! So, my furfriends, be joyful that a little six pound furface was saved from a death more horrible that one could imagine and that Burt is better and that Venus has found a new little brother.....and that Angel Sister and I brought someone new into my Auntie's life when she needs it the most! I have to tell you that part of the country has the most beautiful places to look at....wow! Anyway, Ricki would give him Angel kisses all the time and he would be feeling a cool breeze on his cheek and wonder what was going on....yep, it drove him batty. ehheheh We played this 'breezy kissy' game the whole time we were there..if you could of only seen his dad checking out his face in the mirror for 'unforseen rashes or fevers'....oh, what fun we had!! But, I will tell you one thing, my friends...that man can cook...he had a heaping plate of grilled guppies all fired up for us on our first night there that could compare with any place in the world!! We sort of felt guilty after that delicious meal for playing the 'breezy kissy' game with him.....but, not that guilty to stop. heheh Anyhow, we had such fun running, playing and eating and then we would lay out in their wonderfully warm sun and tan our whiskers!! WAHOO.....I sure have missed the sun!! But, then Sunday came, and Ricki had to dust off his new strong Kitty Angel Wings and fly us back home....oh, by the way, he took JH and me on some exciting rides while we were at JH's house....his daddy was chicken and said he wouldn't go hundreds of miles up in the air with a kitty he couldn't see...he missed a good time!! I took a nice ride to the vets today with mommie....we took her Catmobile ... McKenna I pranced into the vets showing off my new Healing Rosettes and Stars!! Boy, I felt good!!!!! Anyhow, Mommie let me go first since I was only getting fluids today. I was such a good little boy....they weighed me and I am holding my own!!! TWELVE POUNDS!! YIPEE!! Everyone gave me pets, kisses and hugs. I was a good little boy. They brought me back to our exam room, and then took Sister McKenna (still in her carrier) to the blood taking room. Mommie and I were just talking about what a good little boy I was today when we heard screaming, yelling, crying, hissing, growling, howling and such a shriek at the end. Mommie said: "Don't worry, good little boy, Buddie, that is just some mean cat back there".....well, five seconds later, the vet was in our exam room with her scrubs in tatters and her hair in disarray....all she could mutter was "McKenna....McKenna".....then she turned and left.....later she wanted mommie to leave McKenna and return when she had a chance to relax. (McKenna to relax, I mean...not our poor vet) Mommie and I jumped into our Catmobile and headed home. Mommie said: "Oh Buddie, what a good little boy you were today and you even gained weight. We are so PROUD of you. Here, let me call Daddy to tell him." So, she did, and I got more praise- long distance- and now we are home safe and sound. By the way, Sister McKenna is home with us too lurking around every corner, giving mommie and me funny looks, plotting her revenge. Uh oh! She may be sweet but I think she may be deadly!!!
