Wow - I've been away from Catster for a while. My typist went on vacation, and I had no Catster, no daily treats of wet food, no trips outside, no pets - nothing but me and my siblings running the house. Well, we made a mess! Not too much of one, but we had to knock a few things over. I was so happy to see them return! First, I ran outside, because I felt cooped up. A house is just not big enough. And then, they called me in and I got Wet Food, part I. I say Part I, because even though it was kind of late, they made it a toucan night! Part II came later! I ran outside some more, and then I came to the door. I would sit looking cute, and when they came to open the door for me, I would run around as fast as I could and show off! I'm such a good kitty. Finally, I was so tired and full of delicious food, that I came in and curled up next to my mom. I just knocked out for a while! I was so happy when it was time to go to bed, and I shared her pillow as usual and purred. Wow - I missed them! Then, we had a really big thunderstorm that night, so my brother and sister actually got in the bed, too, because they were scared. It was loud, but really neat. I'm so glad they're back!

So tonight when I came in from outside, my mum and dad were playing a game on the coffee table. This was excellent, because I discovered that the top of the box makes an excellent bed for a kitty - especially me! I sniffed and pawed at it for mere seconds before I discovered that this must be what box tops are made for. So, I curled up in it. Apparently I look very handsome in box tops, because pretty soon mum and dad had quit playing and started brushing me. I don't usually like the brush, but it felt pretty nice tonight. I stayed for a while, until they resumed game play. As if I am not far more entertaining! I heard mum say that this must mean I would really like my own special bed. I wonder if I am going to get a surprise soon? I hope so! If not soon, maybe for my birthday. It's only a little over a month away....

....are really not fun! When I first started getting to go outside, I got to go all the time. But, then, we started getting rain. And, lately it rains all the time! My mom says I'm the cure for the drought - we didn't get any rain until I started liking the outside. Now, it rains, and I can't go play. I try, but I really hate mud. It acts like glue and all these dead itchy leaves stick to me. They get stuck in my hair, and I turn into Rasta Kitty - I get little dreadlocks that form around them. No fun! And, it hurts when my mom tries to help me and pull them off, because they pull my fur. So, I've learned that rain is crummy. But it still makes me mad. I hope it stops by tomorrow.

Today was a sad Valentine's Day. It started off pretty well - started off as a "toucan" day, in fact. But then, my mum wasn't home for a long time, and I didn't get to go outside very much. Then, I settle in for Catster time, and my favorite place and my best friends are gone. Big Leo's disappeared without a trace - I found out when I tried to send him and his family Valentine greetings and discovered their profiles were gone. Then, I go to page, and start receiving p-mails from friends. We are so brokenhearted. I joined when the group was very small, and such times I had! We got to exercise our creative sides, and have fun, hang out at the Bing, make our own movies, play games, and review other people's movies. We've started a new group in Leo's honor....it's in the right spirit, but I can't help but miss his spunk and his great sense of humor. It's the end of an era, but hopefully the beginning of something new. Here's to new beginnings and reforging friendships -

So, today was a special "toucan" day. I suppose you could call it a "two-can" day, but "toucan" is so much more fun. A toucan day is a day when I get TWO CANS of wet food. Yes sir, I must have been an especially good kitty lately, because this morning, I got a can of wet food. (I had to share with my siblings, but who cares?) I was so happy. Here I am, waking up with the people, feeling groggy, and I get this great surprise! Then, tonight they came home from work, and I got CAN NUMBER TWO!!!!! I was trying my best to not beg for it, but I always get a can when they get home. So, I posed and tried to look extra sweet, just in case they were changing up my routine - and they weren't! So, today's been a super-awesome toucan day! I wonder if I'll be this lucky tomorrow....

So, yesterday, my mum went to see "Rambo" and was talking about it. It was really inspiring, all that war talk about killing and stuff. So, today when I got to go play outside tonight, I imagined I was a kitty stalking through the jungle. Actually, it was the woods behind the house, but close enough. Suddenly, ahead in the leaves, I saw an enemy squirrel. I braced myself, stiff, against the wind and straightened my whole body out. Then, I shot forward to attack the squirrel before he could set up a defensive maneouver. I caught him by the throat, and, well I did something to it very similar to something Rambo did to an enemy soldier. Then, I drug my prize up to the backdoor and made sure to make sure everyone knew what a wonderful conquest I had made! It's the first gift I've brought home, and he was a nice, big squirrel. My mom told me I was a good boy, but she looked a little queasy. I hope she's doing ok.

I have been tagged by Milani.

Here are the rules of the game: Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to post in their Diary these rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to purr them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!

Here are my 7 facts:

1) I am my mum's very first pet.
2) I love to play in the snow...but it doesn't look like I'll get to very often.
3) I sleep on my mum's pillow every night.
4) I am a creature of habit - I like to do the same things at the same time, every day.
5) I love wet food...sliced, and with lots of gravy! Also, ham! And McDonald's - I am a true carnivore!
6) I am a natural hunter...talk to the squirrels in my back yard!
7) I hate it when people touch my belly. Or any of me, if I'm not in the mood for it! Yowl!

I'm tagging the following awesome kitties:

1 Tom J. Katt - I haven't seen you online in a while, buddy!
2 Aggie - because that's a foxy Persian outfit you're wearing! (I hope Maggie's not offended...she looks cool, too!)
3 Cruize - how'd that Christmas ham work out, brother?
4 Pooh Bear - how's it going in Carolina?
5 Simon - we haven't chatted lately - I wanted to say hello.
6 Zeus - you're a quiet one; I'd like to get to know you better!
7 Stitch - we should get better acquainted - I like your sense of humor.

Last Wednesday night was one of the best nights ever! I saw snow for the very first time. What started out as a yucky, rainy day turned into Awesomefest 2007. It got really cold outside, and I wasn't too interested in the rain. But, then the rain turned into snow! I begged and pleaded, and finally my mum let me out. She called me in really quickly because she was worried, but I wouldn't let up! I had to remind her that I'm a Maine Coon cat, and I was born to love the cold and the snow. When she let me out again, I stayed out as long as I ever have. Two hours later I came back inside after romping through the neighborhood- totally crusted in snow! I felt like I had fulfilled my destiny. She wanted to clean me off, but I liked having the snow on me! I got to work on it pretty quickly, but it was amazing. Then, Saturday, it snowed again, and I got to go out in it another time! She said that this doesn't happen much, so I feel like one lucky cat. Excellent!

I am starting to think that this Christmas season and winter business are OK. Now that it's cool out, I get to go outside way more often, because my family's not afraid of me overheating. I've gotten some wonderful new toys to play with, like a Christmas tree stuffed with catnip that dangles from a bungee string on a fishing rod - that one is tons of fun! And, my mum seems to be pretty happy, so that makes me happy too! Tuesday night she was watching some show on TV about a "Rudolph" fellow, who looks a lot like the deer who live in the woods behind our house. She was really enjoying it, so I crawled up on the sofa and watched along with her. She was very excited that I wanted to watch with her. I found it very entertaining; those elves look like they might be fun to chase! I think I could take on the Bumble, too. I keep hearing all these rumors about presents, so I'm hoping I get a few. I hope I don't have to be too well behaved!

I'd like to know why my mum and dad laugh at me so often when I am on the bed. Like today: I was just lying there, minding my own business, when pops comes in and says to mum, "Hey, look at this." Well, the next thing I know, something is moving around under the covers, and I pounce to try to catch it. Then, mum says to pops, "Yeah, check this out," and something starts moving behind me. I don't get it. They're standing on opposite sides of the bed, laughing at me, I can't see their hands, and there are creatures EVERYWHERE UNDERNEATH THE COVERS. How can they be so stupid? Why is it funny? I'm running around, pouncing, trying to kill these things since we all use the bed, and they think it's a joke. The nerve!

Well, last night I had about the best time I have ever had on Catster! I attended the Amigo Dance hosted by the lovely Ariel and JoJo and Winnie-the-Pooh of The 3 Amigos group. And, I had the most lovely escort ever - The beautiful Milani who I met at the Halloween dance at Big Leo's Stray Cat Alley - attended with me. She looked absolutely in the stunning red gown she wore, and I had a dashing tux designed by Thumper. She was so pretty that I just had to have the band play "Lady in Red" for her. We danced all night, and had lovely little tarts, and drank champagne and cider, and had the greatest time. We led a conga line, and by the end of the night, Milani was singing "Conga" better than Gloria Esteban herself, and I was playing the marimba that I jacked from the band. It was so fantastic! Thanks to everyone in The 3 Amigos that was there; I really enjoyed your company last night!

I just love a good game, and I have been introduced to this one courtesy of my good friends Milani and Jakers - what fun! The rules are simple: when you are tagged, write a diary entry about something you are thankful for. Then, tag 5 other cats to play, and notify them by p-mail or rosette.

Now, since I have written about things I am thankful for already, I am going to take this opportunity to simply say that I am ever so thankful for having made the wonderful friends I now have on Catster. I have met clever cats, sweet cats, tough cats, little kittens, and great big cougars. You all have brought so much variety into my life and I am glad to know all of you. I can only hope that in another year we are all that much closer and have made even more great friends. Thank you to everyone for reaching out to my family and me, and making us part of yours.

I now choose to tag five more cats, and I choose you guys:

1. Archimedes
2. Chadwick
3. Dusty
4. Simon
5. Mr. Kitty

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

So, this year is my second Thanksgiving, and while I'm very excited about this tasty holiday for purely selfish reasons (such as the Italian sausage my mum puts in stuffing. Yum - PORK! And, of course, turkey), I am older and wiser this year and realize I have a lot to be thankful for. Here are just a few things:

1. Outside - I love chasing birds and those chewy little squirrels, fresh air, a cool breeze, and plants to eat without penalty.

2. Wet food - I love this stuff, or at least the gravy. Thank goodness there's an alternative to dry food!

3. My new house - specifically the garage. I can go out there whenever I like and chase bugs, scratch cardboard, and just hang out. Cool!

4. Advantage - this stuff lets me go outside without getting all itchy. Yay!

5. Catnip - this stuff makes me feel good all over.

6. Mr. Stoke and Stank - I wasn't too sure about these two when my household combined with theirs, but they are pretty cool Mr. Stoke likes to chill and hang out, and play. We even share toys! Stank makes great prey, and I like chasing her. But we're pals, too. All cats should have a couple of siblings - it makes you feel like a real cat!

7. Catster and friends - I have made so many great friends here on Catster, that it's amazing. I am so lucky to have Milani, Big Leo and the Jersey Cats, Pooh and the Carolina Crew, LB, Maggie, Aggie, Chadwick, Simon, Cruize, and so many others - please don't be sad if I didn't list you. Oh! and the Alley! Such fun!

8. My mum - she rescued me, sick, weak, debilitated, and half dead and loved me and took care of me. I've been a real jerk sometimes, especially when I don't get my way, but she's loved me more and more. I can't stand being without her! I am lucky.

9. Pork - God's gift to cats and people alike! So delicious! It makes me one happy cat.

10. My new Christmas toy with a line. I love batting it around, and Mr Stoke plays, too.

11. A clean litter box - thank goodness I have never had to deal with a filthy one!

OK - I think that's everything. There's more, I'm sure, but I'm not very creative right about now. I hope every cat has a great Thanksgiving and remembers a few things that makes them lucky - like great parents, great friends, and great food. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

So, for the past *three* days, I have been allowed to go outside - more than once! The last couple of times I went out, it was so hot outside, and I didn't do much except chew on plants and lie in the shade. But now - wow! It's nice and chilly outside and it feels sooooo good to a big, fat kitty with big-fat-fur like me! I went running full-tear across the back yard, and my mum called me "El Magnifico." I went for a ramble in the woods behind the house and chased a rabbit and squirrels and birds. And then, I went all the way around the house to the front and found the front door to my house. So, I meowed at it, and I can get in that way, too! My mum came straight for the door. It was awesome. And, when I come in, I get extra pets becuase everybody seems to like how my fur feels when it's cool from the nice autumn breeze. It's been great! Man, do I get hungry when I come in. And I get really tired now, too. Too tired to chase around Little Miss Stank anymore, as well. But, boy am I having fun! I wonder how I got so lucky? And that Jerome fellow is usually the one who lets me out. Interesting. I have given him a few test face rubs, and it seems like maybe he's ok. Man, it's awesome being a cat!

So, today Milani tagged me, but I have already been tagged in two different games! So, instead of making the lists all over again, I will just play the "say something nice about 10 kitties" game of tag idea and write about her. Milani is my newest friend! I met her on Halloween night at the Big Leo's Halloween Bash, and she was just fantastic. Our mutual friend Little Bit introduced us, and we had a great time dancing and drinking nip lager. She was a very elegant Charleston dancer, and she really knew how to have fun - what a great night! I'm very pleased to count her among my new Catster friends.

Howdy again, all! My purr-fectly awesome friend Pooh Bear tagged me for this game, and this one might be even better than the other one! In this game, you pick 10 of your furry friends and post a nice thing about each one of them in a diary entry. Make sure to send a p-mail or rosette to each one so they know they've been tagged. They then tag 10 more kitties and so on. It's a nice thing to send a p-mail in reply to the person who tagged you so they can read your diary!

So, here they are - 10 awesome friends!

1. Smudge - His mum has known my mum for a really long time, long before they had any kitties. Smudge has got some seriously hypnotic and amazing eyes - and he's a Maine Coon, too!
http://www.catster.com/cats/632080

2. Leonidas - This cat is a real leader, and is too much fun. I'm a proud member of his Orange Cat Posse and am proud to run wih his pack.
http://www.catster.com/cats/534774

3. Rags - This cat and his family were the first kitties to make friends with me on Catster, and I won't forget it!
http://www.catster.com/cats/275439

4. Samantha - She has been really nice to my sister, Stank, who is very shy. Super cool!
http://www.catster.com/cats/634364

5. Freki, Tigger, Odin, and Skully - These cats are very creative, and Freki is my brother Mr. Stoke's favorite Catster playmate. They have awesome web pages, too! Here's Freki's profile:

6. Simon - He's one of the nicest cats I've met here, and he really looks after other people. He really thinks of everyone!

7. Garfield - I like his taste in TV, and he has really inventive pics on his page.

8. Aedan - Look at this orangie! Not only is he a nice guy and an SEC football fan, but he has an amazing ruff.

9. The Lovely Venus - She's a great singer, and I love what she brings to the Bing - class!

10. Tom J. Katt - What a fun dude! I met him at Brilliant Orange Cats Unite, and he has been a real pal ever since. We hang out with Leo's Jersey crew, too, and he's a good friend to all. What a guy! I know he's already played some tag, but I had to return the favor!

OK, guys - there's my 10 - now pick yours, and let me know when you do!

Hello, everyone! Looks like I've been caught in a game of tag. Here are the rules so you can play, too! When you are tagged, post 7 random facts about yourself, compose a new diary entry - be sure to include the rules - and post. Then pick 7 furs (kitties or doggies) to tag but make sure you tell them... a simple p-mail will do, or a rosette, but don't forget to tell them. Post their names after your facts. When you finish, p-mail who tagged you so they can read your diary.

1. My name is Reese because I was the color of peanut butter when my mum got me, but she usually calls me Rhesus because I'm such a silly monkey!

2. I am very wily, and I will outsmart you in a game of chase.

3. I love being in the bathroom during and after my mum's shower - I like the flowery smell, and I like to give her face rubs immediately afterwards so she still smells like me.

4. The best way to relax is on your back with your paws in the air - I love to play dead.

5. Chasing Stank is my favorite hobby.

6. The garage is my favorite hangout; I have my very own cardboard boxes to scratch there.

7. Even though I'm a cat, I love the Dawgs - the Georgia Bulldogs, that is! Wanna hear a cat bark? Gooooo Dawgs! Sic 'em! Woof woof woof!

The seven friends that I am tagging are:

1) Garfield

So, I was reading Siberian's diary (linked to here: http://www.catster.com/cats/622743 ) , and I have to give props to that cat! I noticed that my human really likes it when I don't try to run out the door when she gets home for work but instead choose to rub up against her. Then, I noticed that Jerome was easy to manipulate by being sweet to him after getting wet food. So, whenever they come home from work, I act really nice! And sure enough, one of them always goes into the laundry room, opens the pantry door, brings out a can of wet food, taps it and calls "Kitties!" Then, they pour it on a dish. I always jump on the counter and get first licks because I am the best! Stank always meows loudly in protest, but she's just in awe of my greatness. Then, they take the saucer, put it on the ground, and we share. They learned I like the sliced stuff with gravy best, because I like the sauce!

I also noticed that when I am sweet at breakfast time, my mum let's me have the delicious milk from her cereal. I love it when she eats Cocoa Krispies. Yummmm!

Well, this was certainly an upsetting past few days. On Friday morning, my people slept late and didn't go to work. Then, they woke up and packed some things in some nice bright red luggage. I thought this was awesome, because that red suitcase is the only thing I've ever "marked" as mine. I was snuggling with it and burrowing under it, but my mom kept trying to take it. I kept swatting at her, but she didn't get it. And eventually she just grabbed it and wheeled it out of the house. I was pretty teed off, but they gave me wet food in the morning instead of at night like they normally do. This was awesome! They left, and I thought they'd be back soon, but they didn't come back until Sunday. They were wearing all this garnet and gold FSU stuff, and seemed tired but pretty happy. I was glad to see them, but I didn't let on. Not, at least, until they went to bed. I mean, how could they just leave me with no attention or television or pets for a weekend! And like a good kitty, I even shared the bed for once with both of the other cats. I couldn't help purring, but they better not pull a stunt like that again!

Today, Jerome decided to vacuum the house. I didn't really like it very much, and Mom had left the ironing board out, so I couldn't hide in my usual spot. Normally, I like to crawl on top of the cabinets over the refrigerator and flatten myself out (they can't even see me when I do this!) Not an option today, so I had to take matters into my own hands. Boy, was he surprised when I unplugged the vaccuum! I just ran up, sniffed it, and gave it a couple of good swats. He thought that I was so smart, that he actually let me go outside while he finished up! Excellent. I got to prowl around and chew on some plants - a very good Sunday, if you ask me. I came in, but didn't really feel like. Mom kept standing at the door saying "In or out! In or out!" So, I came in, but then she wouldn't let me go back out. Boy, did I have some energy to work off. So, I stalked Stank for a while, and even Mr. Stoke. Boy, does he not like getting ruffled! Time for a nap after all this excitement.
