Take me out to the birdhouse
Take me out to the yard
Hang me some bird seed and suet bricks

Let's Play Spring Tag!
April 4rd 2013

My Friend Minuette tagged me: ~ I must name five things I like about Spring and then I will tag some other furfriends.

Here are some of the things I like about Spring:

1) Outdoor Enclosure. Mommy lets Marina and I go outside. We have a very large enclosure. I can lay on the patio or hide under the bridge.

2) Free Food. I love to watch all the pretty birdies, but I also love to EAT the pretty birdies. Please don't judge me. It's my feline instincts and I'm a hopeless slave to my instincs.

3) Fresh Air. I love the fresh air when mommy opens the windows. I can hiss at the cats walking by and watch the children play.

4) Warm weather. It feels good enough that I can spend hours outside.

5) Bugs and Frogs. I love to chase flies, moths, frogs, grasshoppers, and anything else that moves.

I am tagging:
1) Ben -- 200703
2) Gimli -- 100277
3) Shade -- 1197041
4) Mazie -- 976729
5) Mojo -- 1247595

If you're one of my friends, and don't see your name, feel free to join in: it was a tough decision to pick the five, so I leaned towards those with more current diaries--so they wouldn't resent the need to write again--plus angels have Spring year-round!
In addition, anyone who wants to play is welcome--I love finding out more about all of you!

The vet called Mommy today with the results of my allergy testing. When the vet started reading off the list, mommy started laughing. Can you believe that??

Here's everything I'm allergic to that they tested for:

Orchard grass, Fescue grass, Bermuda grass, Ryegrass, Ragweed, Pigweed/Careless weed, Lamb’s Quarters, English Plantain, Waterhemp, Box Elder/Maple, Oak, Elm, Pecan/Hickory, Cladosporium (fungus), Penicillium (fungus), Rhizopus (fungus), Stemphylium (fungus), Candida Albicans (fungus), Nigrospora (fungus), Phoma (fungus), Dog Hair, Cockroachs, Tobacco Smoke, Pork, Venison, EGGS, Corn, White Potato, Flax Seed, Tuna, Cod, Flounder, Haddock, Shrimp, Human hair/dander

Mommy has to change my food, change my kitty litter and she said in a couple of weeks I will start getting two allergy shots b/c I'm allergic to so much stuff.

Mommy said the absurd thing is I'm allergic to her. The vet has never heard of that before. She was wondering why it was even on the form until today. Mommy said they all laughed about it and said leave it to us. This wouldn't happen to anyone else. The good thing is, when I start taking these shots, I should start to feel better and maybe I won't be allergic to mommy anymore.

I'm still going to snuggle with her at night. That's my favorite part of the day.

I get to sleep in the bed with mommy. Marina has to sleep in the living room because she likes to play in the middle of the night. After mommy wakes up, she will let Marina into the bedroom to give morning cuddles.

Lately, Marina has been getting on my nerves. She's always trying to steal my resting place, especially if it's near mommy. This morning, like so many other mornings, Marina came into the bedroom and started fighting with me until I left. Then she plopped herself down in MY spot!!

I wasn't going to let Marina have the last laugh today. I got her sparkle ball, which I hate to play with, and brought it to mommy's bed. Marina started chasing it around the house, and I reclaimed my spot on the bed.

I found out after looking in my mailbox that I've been tagged by Penelope!

I've been tagged in a new game! List 5 of the most annoying things your humans can do, then tag 5 friends to do the same and put it in their diaries.

Here goes:

1) Two words: Ear drops

2) Two more words: liquid antibiotics.

3) Mommy won't let me go outside and catch birds when I want to.

4) Going to the Vet. Who really likes to be poked and prodded by a virtual stranger?

5) I hate it when mommy tries to pet me after we get up. I need a little alone time to wake up.

Now who shall I tag?

1)Toulouse 275091

2)Sandy 537935

3)Cheyanne 64708

4)Coco 383117

5)Muffy 314237

You can also play if you read this diary! The fun part is getting to choose 5 more kitties to tag!

Today I caught a female Eastern Bluebird. That's what the internet said it was. I brought it in the house when mommy was preparing dinner. I let it go in the living room and it tried to fly away. I jumped up and grabbed it. Mommy opened the back door and tried to coax me outside. It was a present for her so I dropped it in the kitchen. The bird just laid there. Mommy picked it up with a kitchen towel and took it outside. It flew up on top of the fence. Mommy told me it wouldn't make it. It fell into the yard and I swooped it up. I tried to take it back into the house but mommy shut the door. I finished the bird off then had fun playing with it. Mommy felt so bad for the bird but I told her it was nature. She said nature is fine but do I have to be the huntress? Can't I just enjoy the birds from a distance? I told her I am cat. Cat must hunt. Sorry birds.

Tonight mommy did the worst thing in the world a mommy can do to a kitty. It was even worse than the v-e-t. She gave me a B-A-T-H! She said I got stinky when I was going potty. I think if she had given me five minutes, I could have given myself a proper kitty bath. I was yowling at the top of my lungs for mommy to stop. Even Marina tried to come to my rescue but the door was closed. After the bath, mommy turned on the space heater so I could stay warm while I dried off. Marina tried to help dry me off too. After the bath, mommy gave me my nummy medicine but I bit into it wrong and tasted the icky medicine hidden inside. My mouth started foaming a bit. I couldn't even wash it down with the good treats for the longest time. Mommy felt bad then. Good. Maybe she will think twice before giving me a bath again!

Hi everyone! Last night I put mommy through her paces again. It has been three months since I peed on her bed but I thought she needed a refresher course on how to deal with these things. I'll let mommy tell you the story from her point of view. I think it will sound better coming from the "victim" in this case. mol

Tosca's mommy here. As most of you know, Tosca has been peeing on my bed since I got her as a baby. It isn't medical, it's behavioral. I've been so proud of Tosca for not peeing in my bed for three solid months. That's a great effort for her, almost a record. Last week she started scratching on the bed so I felt she was getting close to feeling the need to pee on the bed again. Last night she finally "did it."

I woke up at 12:45 and rolled over into a wet spot. She has NEVER peed in the middle of the night before. I jump out of bed and strip off the top covers. On my way back to the side I was sleeping on I keep stepping in wetness. I felt so bad for her. I assumed she had started peeing and got interrupted so she jumped down and couldn’t hold it and piddled all across the floor. I looked at the bed and thankfully I woke up before I had to strip off the bottom linens.

I grab one of the already wet blankets and clean up the floor in the bedroom. I gather the blankets to put in the washer. As I’m doing that I find her mouse in the wet bed linens. I thought this is great. She’s peed on her mouse too. Now I’m going to have to throw it out. I sniffed it to make sure. It didn’t smell but urine doesn’t always smell. I throw everything in the washer, including the mouse. These mice are her favorites and very hard to find so I don’t want to lose one if I don’t have to.

On my way back to the bedroom I step in another spot. I grab a towel that was right outside the laundry room and wipe that up and look for more spots. There are a couple more that continue toward the kitchen. I turn on the lights to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I keep wiping and wiping….all the way to the water bowl.

That little stinker was playing with her mouse in the water bowel and brought it to bed with her. All the water that had absorbed into it dripped all the way from the kitchen then soaked through the bed linens. She didn’t pee in the bed at all.

I stayed up long enough to make sure they blankets in the washer weren’t lopsided while spinning. I grabbed my thin little fuzzy blanket and went back to bed by 1:00. I froze the rest of the night but I was also quite proud of my baby for not peeing in the bed.

Mommy grilled chicken last night. She wrapped the pieces in foil so they wouldn't burn but they would still have that good grilled taste. Last night I got into the trash and ate the foil. It was yummy. Mommy didn't know which one of us did it although she thought it was me because som cat had vomited foil and I was standing nearby.

Mommy decided it was a good idea to take both of us to the vet. The vet was busy, busy. There were dogs there and cats. They even had a horse that they called "a mastif." I hissed and spit and growled but not nearly as much as Marina. I dealt with it all day and was fine. When mommy came to get me I finally vomited and it had foil in it. The vet, well, not the one that treated me today, told mommy that we have to observe me carefully for the next day or two but she thinks it's all over.

The vet that took care of us all day got bitten by Marina *stifles a giggle so Marina won't see* Marina just couldn't take it any longer. It was kind of a raw deal being around all those sick cats and dogs all day and Marina is perfectly fine.

Mommy said I may have to go back to the vet tomorrow if it looks like I'm having any problems. Thankfully Marina won't have to go with me.

The good news is there is no medical reason I keep peeing on mommy's bed. The bad news is there is no medical reason I keep peeing on mommy's bed. Mommy was hoping for an infection that could be treated with an antibiotic we haven't tried yet. Quick fix, everyone is happy. Well, that isn't the case. Now mommy has to find a way to get me to stop peeing on her bed through behavioral modification. I don't know though. I really like peeing on her bed.

Today I wanted to show her how much I love her so I brought her my favorite treat...a two inch big fat green grasshopper. She didn't scream but she walked away. I ate a little bit of it and left the rest for her to clean up. She swept it into the garage. Now she has the shakes. She said next time I better bring in a mouse or bird but no more bugs.
This summer hasn't been very adventurous except with tasting new things. Bacon was great, quail wasn't so great. Today I tried Coca-Cola. Mommy wasn't worried when I was sniffing it. She remembered how much Marina hated it and she knew it wouldn't be a problem for me to sniff it. Guess what? I liked it. I took a lick and mommy let me. Then I took three more licks and she made me stop. Caffeine is not good for kitties in any amount. Who knew a kitty would like Coca-Cola. I also like iced tea. Mommy learned earlier in the summer that she has to keep me away from tea. Every kitty has its quirks. I guess mine is liking foods I'm not supposed to have.

Two days ago mommy got whiplash. "How?" you ask. She was hit in the head with a cat. MOL!!

There is a shelf above mommy's toilet. When mommy gets ready for work I sit on the shelf and watch. Tuesday was no different. I was rolling around enjoying my morning pets. Mommy bent down to get some tissue. While she was bent forward blowing her nose, I rolled too much and fell about a foot onto her head. We were both stunned. I was fine but mommy has mild whiplash. We had to laugh. How many times do humans get whiplash from being hit in the head with a cat? mol

P.S.

Mommy came home from work today and her bedroom door was open. It took her 5 hours to realize I figured out how to open the door while she was gone to work. I haven't been able to do it again, yet. But I will. :-)

Hi Catster kitties. This is Tosca's mommy. I thought this story would sound better coming from me.

Last night I woke up with terrible heartburn. I decided I had to be up for a little while to let the Nexium start working so I decided to do some easy chores while I was up. I walked in the kitchen and found one of Tosca's mice. When I picked it up, I noticed she had worked it over pretty well. It was missing the tail, ears, eyes and belly fur and the plastic was broken. I decided to break it apart and see what they use to make the mouse rattle. I'm still not sure what it is but it's some sort of rock like stuff. The awesome part, the part that totally shocked me was what else was inside. As I was breaking it apart, I saw two little pink things. I thought maybe it was stuffing to keep it from rattling too much. As it turns out it was the missing ears!! How did she get the ears INSIDE the mouse?????

Wow, I'm a daily diary pick. That's really cool. Thanks Catster!! It is my dream to one day be Diary of the Day, Cat of the Day and Cat of the Week. I really want the full Catster experience. I think we have all been a daily diary pick now, so that is really cool. And Marina has been Cat of the Week and Cat of the Day. She only needs to be a Diary of the Day pick and she will have had the full experience. I'm just a baby so I'm still just getting started. Velvet is old and doesn't participates quite as much as we do so she has a ways to go too. Oh, look at me ramble. It seems like I don't appreciate this honor but I do, I really, really do!!! I'm just saying that I have big dreams!

Well, I had a busy weekend. Mommy was home most of the weekend so I just begged for attention all the time. When she wouldn't give it to me, I would groom her hair. I've never done this before and it made her laugh and laugh so I kept doing it. Humans are so funny. I also go tto go outside some and look at the birds. We have a birdhouse and if I stretch, I'm about half way to reaching it. Those birds better watch out.

Mommy decided to make scrapbooks for all of us. She finally got started on mine. I helped her with the first page. It's a map of the US with an airplane going from Atlanta, GA to Fayetteville, AR. That was my plane trip. Wow, was that scary, but I was a trooper and stayed calm. Mommy couldn't find a map she liked so she got a blank one and decided to color the states herself. I helped her check out the colored pencils to make sure they were tasty enough for my page. I even tasted the page and left my seal of approval (teeth marks).

Mommy said she can't wait to work some more on our scrapbooks but won't do anything until spring when we can be outside playing with the birds and she can watch us from the kitchen while she scrapbooks.

Well, I'm off to one of my many naps today. I have to play catch up since I was keeping mommy company the last three days.

Have a great day Catster friends.

I got tagged by,Princesse Citron

Here are the rules: When you get tagged, you post in your Diary (1) The Rules of the Game (just copy and paste these if you like), and (2) Seven Pawsome Facts About Yourself. (3) Then choose 7 kitties to tag, and list the names of the 7 kitties you are tagging. Don’t forget to purr them a pawmail informing them that they have been tagged and notifying them to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing that they've been tagged!

Facts:
1. I hate water more than almost anything, unless it is just on the grass.
2. I like to suckle on mommy's hands and arms but she doesn't like it because...
3. I have jaws like a steel trap and once they clamp down on something you can get them open.
4. I love to run through the house growling like the Tazmanian Devil.
5. I like to play with Marina but snuggle and sleep with Velvet.
6. My favorite toys are Zanies mice (not other brands) and pipe cleaners.
7. I love to watch anything with big cats. I also like Meerkat Manor.

I think it's our job as kitties to keep our pawrents on their toes. I've done that twice recently and mommy just can't stop laughing when she thinks about it. Yesterday I was playing with a squishy bug toy that Grannie got me. Mommy decided to throw it for me and it bounced off the wall and I went after it. We kept playing the bounce the bug off the wall game. Mommy was so ticked because my tail was fuzzy every time I chased it. I don't get fuzzy with any other toys, just this one. I guess it is kind of funny.

Earlier today I was wanting attention from mommy, and frankly I was wanting some of her soup. She turned her back on me and I jumped onto her back and fell back down. What really surprised her was I jumped all the way up and put my front paws on her shoulder. She said none of her kitties have ever jumped that high without taking a step or two first. I did it in one straight jump. She thought I was just good at the long jump but I've shown her I can be good at the high jump too.

Yesterday was my first birthday. It was a great day but really it started the day before yesterday. I was at The Foreign Legion with a host of usual kitties when Cole and Jacques decided to throw me an impromptu (big word for a baby) birthday party. Even Vijay showed up to plunk a jellybean at Marina. mol. It was like the count down to New Years because it started an hour and a half before I turned one.

Al brought in a temporary chandelier and Selket and Squeakers helped teach me to swing. It was so much fun. After I got dizzy, I jumped down and fell over. At midnight everycat wished me a happy birthday. I got to stay for about an hour more before I went home.

Many of my Catster friends gave me rosettes and stars and cupcakes. One family gave me a butterfly. I'm so lucky to have such wonderful friends.

At home with mommy, I got to go outside and play for a little while. It was 68 degrees here yesterday. After that, we had lunch then took a nice long nap. When we woke up, Grannie came over and we had dinner and birthday cake. Mommy's nieces were supposed to come too but they couldn't. After Grannie left, I chased my mousie some more then took a long nap while mommy played on the computer.

I don't think I could ask for a better birthday. I had both human and fur family with me, I had a party with my Catster friends (those that could show up on no notice), and I got cake. I had so much fun, I think I'm going to have to make mommy throw me an Adoptaversary party. ;-)

Although she never lets me eat human food, she let me eat a little bit of bacon and eggs. WOW!! What a great treat! I didn't know people food was so tasty!

I went to Petco today and saw this guy in a red suit they call Santa. I sat on his lap. I really wanted to just look around but they wanted to take my picture. They got a pretty good one but mommy wanted a really good one. She asked them to take another. Well, I turned my head *click*, I meowed *click* then I finally settled down and they got a pretty decent one. After that, I was so comfortable, I didn't want to get off of Santa's lap. He was warm and snuggly.

On another note. I went to the vet Dec 5. That was the day before my eleven month birthday. The vet said I have a bladder infection and have to take this yucky medicine for ten days. Ugh! But the cool thing is I weigh 9 lbs 8 oz. Mommy told my breeder this. They said they've never heard of a female Tonk being that big without being fat. And I'm not fat. I'm all muscle, see *flexes muscles* mol I wonder how big I'm going to get. I'm already as big as the boys. Maybe I'll be the biggest Tonk ever!

Tosca would never tell you this as I'm sure she thinks it's quite normal, but I had to share this as I've never seen it before. Since I got her, I would occasionally find toys in the food dish and I knew it was Tosca. But I never knew anything more.

Today I walked in on her eating with a toy in her dish. She would take a bite of food and chew it up then chew the toy a bit then take another bit of food and repeat. I have no idea why she does this but it explains how her toys get so wet and nasty.

I think it's rather amusing. I wish I could talk her language to find out why she does this, but then again, sometimes the mysteries of life are twice as interesting as the answers.

Normally I sqeuak or open my mouth and meow very softly so you can't hear it or can barely hear it. Tonight I was playing in the bathtub (no there was no water) and I let out my first real meow. Mommy was stunned. She just kept asking Velvet if she heard it too. I don't know what the big deal is. I just usually prefer to be more quiet and subtle with my conversation.

Mommy also told me that she wants her kitten back. She said I've turned into a cat and it happened way too fast. I'm too long, too heavy, too grown up. I told her it's much better than the alternative (rainbow bridge) and she sighed and agreed with me. I'm glad to be a big girl. Now I can pick on Marina and have a better advantage.
Tosca: Last night I was sleeping on mommy's lap. She was petting me and watching TV. After about an hour, I looked up at her. She freaked out. She forced me into the cage and put me in the car. We got to the E-V-e-t and they took me right in. Mommy told them my eye was cloudy and it had come on quite suddenly. She was also concerned about my recent vomiting and diarrhea so they checked that out also. They took me to the back, shaved my neck, stabbed me, took blood, put me under a bright light to look at my insides, and shined a really bright light in my eye. The vet told mommy I have junky eye.

Tosca's Mommy here: No, honey, it's conjunctivitis.

Tosca: Oh, con-junk- con-junk- junky eye.

Mommy: *sigh* yes, baby, it's junky eye.

Tosca: Anyway, they told me that my insides and my blood look really good. Mommy has to smear stuff in my eye twice a day for seven days and I still have to go back to my regular vet to talk about the diarrhea and vomiting because they think my stomach doesn't like my food.

Wednesday July 4: Mommy was home today day so we got to go outside quite a bit, that is until she wanted to watch a movie. About halfway through her movie she noticed my paw swelling. I wasn't going to tell her about it because I knew it would mean bad news for me. And it did. It was swelled up like a catcher's mitt and I couldn't walk on it, so it was really hard to hide.

Mommy gave me some Benedryl but then decided it was best to just take me to the vet since the same thing happened to Velvet a few weeks ago (but hers was all four paws). Since it was a holiday, mommy had to take me to the Emergency Clinic. I hate going to the vet but I think I like that place better than my regular vet. The car ride is about half as long and there's almost no animals there. The vet took blood and gave me two shots and some antibiotics to take home. She didn't know what caused my swelling but suspected it was from a spider or other insect. Mommy said ok but what happened to Velvet? We still don't know but at least we know how to treat it.

I was very glad to get back home but then the noises started: eeeeeeeeeee, boom, pop, sizzle, boom, pop, pop, pop. It scared me so I hid under the dresser for about an hour. I thought the noises were never going to stop. Mommy said they lasted for five hours. Once I realized they wouldn't get me, I climbed in bed with mommy, but I was still cautious. Neither one of us slept very well because of the boom, pop and my paw. By morning, my paw was almost normal again and the boom, pop had stopped.

July 6: Today I'm six months old! I'm also six pounds and half an ounce according to the vet two days ago. I'm getting to be a big girl. I bet I catch up to Marina in no time.

Mommy had to pull two of my teeth today. They were loose and bothering me. I didn't want her to touch my mouth but I couldn't get her to stop. I was glad when they were gone. It's tough being a baby.

July 7 (Part 1): What a great surprise to wake up and find I'm a Diary Pick of the Day! How exciting! Mommy said that means someone likes my stories. I will have to keep writing so whoever liked my stories can hear more.

Today I get to be a flower girl in Marina's wedding. I'm excited. I can't wait for everyone to see me walk down the aisle. I hope I do a good job for Marina. She and Truman are so happy.

Time to go prepare for the wedding!!

Oh my mouth has been hurting something terrible. I lost a tooth last night and was sucking on one of mommy's t-shirts to make me feel better. She saw all the blood when she got up this morning and wondered where it all came from. One of my other teeth was really hurting too. I was licking my lips and pawing at my mouth. Mommy decided I had to go to the vet to get it taken out. Oh it hurt but it feels much better now. I'm still bleeding a little bit but now I don't hurt so much. I have two other loose teeth (the fangs) that should come out by the weekend.

I was having trouble with my poop but it is normal now. Yea! And I'm still peeing on the couch but mommy is trying to break me of that. We will see who wins. I'm 22 and a half weeks and I weigh 5 pounds and 14 ounces. The vet said I've almost doubled in size since she first saw me. I really am becoming a big girl!

This weekend started out pretty rough. My eye was bothering me really badly so mommy gave me some Benedryl. Oh I hate that stuff. Did you know it makes you foam at the mouth? That was not fun. I wouldn't let mommy touch me for fifteen minutes.

My four adult fangs popped through. I still haven't lost my baby fangs yet but mommy is trying to help me get rid of them. So far, just the bottom two are loose but I'm sure they will all fall out in a few days. Mommy said my teeth might be why I slept all day yesterday and why I don't want to play very much. I told her I can't wait to get back to playing again.

We have a bird house. This weekend the mommy bird started sitting on her eggs. It is an Eastern Bluebird with five eggs. It should be about two weeks before we have baby birds then another three weeks before they learn to fly. Mommy said we can't play with them or even worse snack on them. We can only look.
I found the greatest treasure in the back yard. It had feathers, one foot and one wing. Mommy said it was supposed to have two legs, two feet and a head. We may or may not know what happened to the rest of it but we aren't telling. ;-) When mommy saw us sniffing it, she put on a gardening glove then took the thing away. It smelled quite delicious. Mommy spent the next 10 minutes combing the yard trying to find any remains. Mommy said it was sad because the poor little guy was just a juvenile robin and last night his parents were flying around trying to get him to follow them. They tried for over three hours. But the poor guy didn't make it. I guess I understand why it is sad but it smelled so tasty!

Playing gotcha - the meme game

I have been tagged! That is right I have been tagged by Cheyenne to participate in Kazumi Joy's meme.

The rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write on their own diary about the seven things and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary.

My seven random facts:

1. I hate water, I hate being wet, I hate it, hate it, hate it.

2. Every night I have what mommy calls a "love fest." It's where I wake her up by kneading on her and sometimes I gently nip at her like I'm trying to nurse.

3. I'm a great lap cat.

4. I love going outside. There is so much to explore.

5. I like to put my mice in the water fountain.

6. I'm good about letting mommy look at my teeth.

7. I really like human food and try to steal it every chance I get. Too bad mommy doesn't give me very many chances.

The friends that I am going to tag are:
Sachin - what a cutie
Joshua
4Ounce
Zoey
Shawnee - a sweet angel kitty
Lady Fee
Toni - a beautiful Tonk

I'm really enjoying this new house because I get to go outside and play. I have one sister to snuggle with and one to wrestle with.

Tonight mommy taught me "get down" and used the water bottle. I was after her lasagna and she said that was not my food. I don't know why not. It smells so yummy. I do know that I like water less than any kitty in history.

I'm glad my new sisters are starting to like me more. I really like wrestling with Marina and Velvet is warm to curl up next to and take a nap. And they have both showed me that grass is nothing to be afraid of. I really like being outside.

Mommy took me to the vet today because I'm having some problems with my poopy. The vet told mommy I should be fine. I either need some more probiotics or I need to change my diet. We are going to start with the probiotics and go from there.

That isn't the surprising part. I gained a lot of weight. On Saturday, at 15 weeks old, I weighed 3 lbs 5 ounces. Today, 6 days later, I weigh 3 lbs 10 ounces. I knew I was getting bigger. Even mommy knew it. She said she could see it and feel it. She thought she was crazy but this proves she wasn't. So in 24 days I gained one pound and five ounces. Wow, if I keep growing like that, I'll be a huge kitty!!

I'm so sad. Mommy locks me in a room by myself when she goes to work and she locks me in a room by myself when it's bedtime. I hate to be alone. I want to play with the other kitties. Mommy tried to tell me that Marina doesn't like me and might hurt me but I'm a big girl. I won't get hurt. I wish she would let me prove it. She did say she might try to let me out next week but that is so far away. *sigh*

Dear Catsters,

This is Tosca's mommy. I wanted to write this entry myself because there are things I wanted to share that Tosca would never share with you (like her litter box problems when she first arrived) and some brags about how smart I think she is.

This first week with Tosca has been interesting. We had a rough start with some minor litter box problems (she peed on my wood floors twice and pooped in the bed once) but after that was fixed she has been a true joy.

*****somehow the diary entry got cut off at this point so I will try to recreate what I thought I was going to say****

Tosca seems to understand "come" although she doesn't yet know her name. Her favorite toy is her peacock. She loves to growl when she is playing. She can fetch and has been doing this since I got her. I think Marina didn't start fetching until she was about 5 months old.

I can't wait to see what else is in store for Tosca as she gets older.

Hi,

What a strange new world. I hated everything at first except what mommy calls a cat dancer. Now I'm much more brave. It's a good thing too because I had to go to the vet today. They say I weigh 2 pounds 5 ounces and they were all fussing over me. I also got my first bath. Mommy said I was stinky. I didn't think so but I smell like coconut now. I don't like to be left alone and I love to make biscuits. My sister, Velvet, doesn't seem to mind me too much but I can hear Marina hissing and growling. Mommy says Marina just isn't used to me yet and needs a little time. Time for a nap. Bye
