This might seem just shameful, but I think I am a catnip addict.
We received a big box of goodies from a little white dog named Zaidie.
There were mostly things for the doggies but I could smell the cat nip up on the kitchen table. That is where the big box was. I even tried to get onto the table even though I know it's not allowed. When the peepole started opening the packages there were three kitty cats toys in there! I have posted some pictures that show our new toys.
The little tiny red sardine in the most heavenly toy of all. I LOVE it! The peepole ration my playing with it. I drooled all over it and it was soaking wet. It is wonderful. I even found the little tag they took off. The tag was nearly as fun as the little fishie toy!
Oh, I hope they let me play with it today.
I love the nip.

The girl's room is "cat proofed". That means that there is nothing out on the piano, desk and dresser. Well, except for some kitty cat toys on the dresser. The mom puts a few toys down for me at night. Last night I needed more toys. I got them all down. Well, except for one white box that has toys inside of it. That might have made a loud sound if I had pushed that onto the floor.
I kinda made a big mess with all of the toys. Teehee.

I know he's not a boy. He's a strapping tall young man. But I can't find him. He doesn't sleep in his bed any more. He doesn't sit at his desk and let me sit in his lap while he uses his computer. The girl went away too. I liked to sit in her lap while she did school work or used her computer. She's gone.
They all went away and only the man and lady came back. Well, Georgie and I were here together overnight. When the man and lady came back at first they didn't have the dogs. Then they went away and came back in a little while and had the dogs with them.
Everyone is here except the girl and boy.
Georgie and I don't really play or nap together.
I am kinda lonely.

I really don't meow much on here, we have a very barky little dog that spends a lot of time on Dogster. That takes our typist away.

Lately, I just don't know what to do with my tail. I don't know if it's getting longer or fluffier and heavier, but I've started curling it over my back, instead of holding it straight up. I've been experimenting to find out how I like it best -- some days, I'll have it kind of loose, but then sometimes I'll keep it in a nice little loop.
I will admit, I get on the kitchen counter sometimes. I know I'm not supposed to do that. I get down right away when someone says my name. I also catch mousies sometimes. Mousies can cause us to get tapey worms.
Last night the mom and sister were cleaning up the kitchen after supper. Sister saw a small white rice-like thingie on the counter. She and the mom stared at it for awhile. Then the mom poked at it with a spoon. Next she dissected it. Both of the little pieces stuck to the spoon. She put the spoon in the dishwasher.
Hmm, was that what they thought it was? I hadn't been up on the counter recently. They didn't think I had tapey worm.
Then Sister remembered.

My family went to town to have lunch earlier today, and they let the doggies stay out in the house. Usually, the dogs are fine. The Cindy-dog likes to stare at us cats, but she almost always only stares.

Today, though, Cindy was feeling a little friskier, I guess. I was sitting on the piano in the girl's room, and Cindy came in and started bugging me. She kept jumping up against the piano. I tried to get away, but only got as far as the bathroom a little ways down the hall.

She followed me, and I think she might have nipped at my tail. I crawled behind the toilet and clawed her a few times on the nose. This part is embarrassing, but I was pretty nervous and I had a couple of accidents.

Not too much later, my family got back home. The other dogs went to say hi to them, but Cindy kept watching me. The girl noticed the scratches on the piano first, then went to look for me and found me in the bathroom. A little blood off of Cindy had ended up on the side of the toilet, and I think that scared her. She and the dad made the dogs go outside, while the mom and the boy checked on me. I sure was happy to see them! They cleaned me up made sure I wasn't hurt, then I went downstairs to get some food. I'm fine now, and sleeping in one of my favorite spots.

I found a mousie in the basement! Oh, I had so much fun with that mousie. It would go behind a backpack on the floor. I would wait and it would come out. I would try to get it. It would scamper behind something else.
I just loved chasing that mousie and waiting for it to show it's little gray body.
Mother couldn't find me upstairs. I am almost always upstairs sleeping on a people bed. She might have been thinking I was stuck in a closet or something.
She came downstairs and saw me playing with my mousie. Father came downstairs next. They were proud of me for finding that mousie.

I like to play with the little hat thing while I am in the big white thing. I can bat it around and around. Then I can hook my claws into the hat and flip it out. Then I can bat it around the bathroom. Most of the time I like to bat the little hat out of the bathroom and kitty-corner (teehee) into the girl's room. There is more room in there to bat the hat!

Forgive me if you have already seen this list. I thought it was worth reading and heading.

1. Screaming at the can of food will not make it open itself.

2. I should not assume the patio door is open when I race outside to chase leaves.

3. If I put a live mouse in my food bowl, I should not expect it to stay there until I get hungry.

4. The guinea pig likes to sleep once in a while. I will not watch him constantly.

5. If I bite the cactus, it will bite back.

6. I will not stand on the bathroom counter, stare down the hall, and growl at nothing right after my human has finished watching "The X-Files".

7. Television and computer screens do not exist to backlight my lovely tail.

8. No matter how dangly and attractive they are, my human's earrings are not cat toys.

9. If I play 'dead cat on the stairs' while people are trying to bring in groceries or laundry, one of these days it will really come true.

10. My human is capable of cooking bacon and eggs without my help.

11. The canned cat food is already dead. I do not need to kill it by swatting bits of it all over the floor.

12. I am a carnivore. Potted plants are not meat.

13. I will never be able to walk on the ceiling, and staring up the wall and screaming at it will not bring it any closer.

14. It is not a good idea to try to lap up the powdered creamer before it all dissolves in the boiling coffee.

15. The goldfish likes living in water and must be allowed to remain in its bowl.

16. If my human wants to share her sandwich with me, she will give me a piece. She will notice if I start eating it from the other end.

17. I cannot leap through closed windows to catch birds outside.

18. The large dog in the back yard has lived there for six years. I will not freak out every time I see it.

19. I am a neutered cat, not a peacock, and prancing around with my tail fluffed up will not make my parts grow back.

20. If I must give a present to my humans's overnight guests, my toy mouse is much more socially acceptable than a live cockroach, even if it isn't as tasty.
--
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

I like to play with small pieces of paper. There's one under our oven right now.

I like to curl up in someone's lap.

I find open suitcases quite comfy.

I am always happy.

I knead but I keep my claws tucked in.

I usually help when someone is typing at the computer.

I like to hunt bugs.

I am quiet except while waiting for breakfast to be served.

Well, there I am in a nutshell.

My window perch is the most wonderful thing. I have written about it before. I do have to share it sometimes with the other cats. That's ok, I can find another nap spot. Everycat loves the window perch.
I think all of you would love to have your very own window perch. I think they were pretty easy to make. My Daddy made 2 real quick. Yes, they are easy to make so I will tell you all how to make your very own. Well, you should probably have a human make yours. My Daddy made ours and I didn't get to actually watch, but I think you will get the idea how to do it.
First, you measure the window that you want to put the perch. Then you get a sturdy, flat thingie, like a board, I guess. Now you take your tool dealie, that you can make holes with and you put 2 holes in the board thingie. Now, put some string, well not just old string, something stronger. It's good to rub my face on. Anyway, after you have some of that stuff, you pull it through the holes. Let me check, oh yes, tie knots on the bottom of the board thingie. You know with the string stuff. Make it long enough to reach up to the scratafratz deal that is up above the window. If you don't already have one up there, you will have to put one up there. That's to hang the string stuff on. Now, sometime you can put some blue carpet on the board thing. I don't know how Daddy did that. He must have used some sort of tool. He really likes tools. You can put your blue carpet on with some tool or maybe glue or something else.
Oh yes, and to hold the perch onto the window sill you will need 2 little whatchamacallits. I don't know, maybe you should put those on before the blue carpet. And one of the perches has some extra stuff to hold it up, because Tod is heavy. It is some kind of long tapey whatsit that sticks on the bottom of the board and the window sill.
I think that is pretty much how to do it. Have fun making one, you will love your window perch!
This was easy, maybe I will start other do it yourself projects for your people to make for you!

So much fun! There were things on my window today. I tried and tried to get them. They were just right there. I could put my paw on one and then it would slide down the window. They looked white at first then just like water. I never did get wet though.
My window perch is wonderful.

Hi! I wanted to tell about our new windowsill perch. My human Dad built it for us cats. It's covered in pretty blue carpet, and it's at a window on the south side of the house. It's so comfy to lay on, especially when it's warm and the sun's coming in. I also like to sit on it and watch birds outside. I've got some pictures of me on it on my page!

It's so nice here at my new home- there are lots of comfy places to sleep, lots of toys to play with, and I get brushed and petted a lot! I really like being brushed, it just feels so good! I like to bump my face against peoples' hands when they pet and brush me.

I'll meow you all later!

I just woke up from my nap and decided to update my diary. I have a special secret place on the computer desk. I can go behind the little drawer and push it out and there is plenty of room for me to curl up and snooze. Cindy dog can't see me back there. Hee hee. She has "choosen" me as her favorite cat to watch. I'm ok with that.
It is nice here. At night, I get little toy mice and rolly balls to play with downstairs. The mom told me I can't have them in the day because the little dog named Zoe might put them in her mouth. That's ok though, I sleep in the day mostly.
I am learning that No cat is allowed on the kitchen counter, but the Amber cat can get on the kitchen table! I don't understand why I can't get on there too. It is Amber's table and she does fuss about it. She's ok though, she "chases" Georgie and me. I think she likes having more girl cats around the place. We are a softer, gentler group. She was the only girl cat, inside, before us.
I think I'll sit in the window, catch some rays and look for some birdies.
Purrs 'n' headbumps

Oh, this is all so exciting and so much to take in. I've only been in this home for a little over 24 hours and I already feel at home. And here I am on Catster writing my first diary entry. My new family pets me and talks so nice to me. The other animals seem to be nice. Georgie and I have found a great furever home!
Yes cats, I am a rescue kitty. My first family moved away and didn't want me anymore. They at least called the nice foster mom to take me. Poor Georgie, she just got left behind. But that is all behind us now.
I'm really a quiet kitty so I don't have much to say right now. I will keep you updated after I have been here awhile.
Purrs to you all.
