I would like to announce the newest member of the Pirate Crew!

Last Sunday the Swabie adopted a little gray and white rex dumbo rat from Mainely Rat Rescue in Maine of course! His name is Screwshank. A perfect name for a Bilge Rat!

He is furry sweet and lots of fun! He has already learned to set the Eagles GPS, charge their cell phones, and his new role is to help the Swabie write the listing for Morgan's Beds!

I've cannot put up a picture of him because we don't have Catster Plus anymore But I hope you'll give him a warm Catster Welcome!

Love

I am good, and keeping busy keeping the Swabie in-line. She's been furry busy at work, and has not done the sewing I requested. I have told her to either be a good Swabie or I will hire a new one. She promised to have new beds done by this weekend - but I do not believe her.

I will be interviewing for Swabies if anyone would like to apply.

Meows My Friends! Thank you so furry much for all the Gifts & Well Wishes! You are the best friends a Pirate could ever have!

I've been back home since Monday night, and I am still not feeling my true Pirate Self. I am still only nibbling food, and have missed a few of my insulin shots because of it.

Mom & the Doc decided it was ok for me to try a new Dry Kitty Food called Evo Chicken & Turkey for Cats & Kittens. It's lower carbs than even the prescription foods for diabetic kittys. Mom was all excited for me - finally I could have KIBBLE, and she thought for SURE I was going to be happily munching away. Nope - I nibbled a little - but not much.

Mom & Dad have been opening all kinds of cans trying to get me to eat - I don't even want my favorites - Fancy Feast Medleys.

Tomorrow I am going for a Sonogram - hmm - I thought they only did them on pregnant ladies - but I guess they also do them on sick little Pirates?

Tomorrow is also the Doc's day off - so Mom called back and said - How will this work? The Doc is giving up his day off JUST FOR ME!!!!!!!!! That's why he's Dr Nero, My Hero! He loves me as much as my pawrents do and he really wants me to get better.

Mom is doing a Morgan's Bed Raffle to help pay fur my expensive bills until I get better. And today we found out that our special friend Samoa is also doing an Auction fur me!

The Information for the Morgan's Bed Raffle is here:

http://www.facebook.com/?tid=1308227462545&sk=messages#!/pages/Morgans-Beds-Fan-Page/144969429958?ref=ts

The Information for the Auction is here:

http://catsterauctions.blogspot.com/2010/06/auction-item-4-calico-cat-earrings.html

Thank Mew SO much for everything! I cannot tell you how much everyone's support means to this little Pirate!

Purrs & Love

Morgan the Pirate Gato

Comments from Mom: Thank you all from the bottom of my heart! It's been a really scary month with Morgan - I know he's unique, and sometime medically makes no sense, but this has really been scary. I am praying they can find out some answers tomorrow with the sonogram. Right now for the first time - he is eating like MORGAN - inhaling his food! Meanwhile, he nibbled his breakfast, and nibbled his lunch.

Meows from the Cage without a View. I am still here at the Kitty Spa, and all is quiet.

Luckily I have the Doc's password, so I'm using his laptop again.

I am still not feeling my Pirate Self, but I am feeling better.

I refused to eat again on Saturday, and I have the famous Dr Nero, My Hero stumped. I didn't get my shot, which was fine with me, and my sugars were in the 400's. Dr Nero took another X-Ray and when Mom called he hadn't read it yet.

Mom & Dad have been furry worried - because a day without food, and I should have been trying to eat the humans! Being the Pirate that I am, and liking to remind them of that, I sat in my cage chuckling about it.

They tossed and turned last night, worried how I was doing through the bad Thunder Storms. Me? I slept like a baby lamb. I woke up ravenous, and decided to eat the food they left in my cage. Nothing like a Midnight Fancy Feast snack!

This morning Auntie JJ came in to feed me, and I was my loveable, ravenous, purring Pirate Self. Stealing her heart, and making her snuggle & kiss me. (The parents of course were freaking out - not knowing how I was doing!)

Finally Auntie Terry called Mom and told her I was doing better, I even ate breakfast so I got my first shot since Friday. She told Mom I was being a snuggle, and more my debonair handsome self, which was a HUGE relief for her!

Since I cleaned out my medical account in the last month with all of my "Morgans", Mom is doing a Morgan's Beds Raffle for me. The details are on the Facebook Morgan's Beds Fan Page. Or feel free to paw mail me.

Willow is doing a good job on the Buzzin Into Spring Contest - which is being extended. With all the Catster Changes, and me being sick we want every fur to have a chance to enter.

I'll keep you updated on how I am feeling.

Well it's been a fun three weeks fur me! First I didn't eat cause I had a toothache - so after I tried to bite the Doc - he took out 4 of my teeth.

A week of pills in yummy pill pockets. Kudos to whoever invented them!

I was still fighting my shots unless Mom scruffed me and held me - my parents were not happy. And I was eating normal.

Yesterday I refused breakfast - even when I got a second one of Chicken Mouse! Mom said enough - To the Kitty Spa you go Pirate Child!

When Mom called to check on me - my sugar levels were good, and an X-ray showed food in my belly. I had no fever either. The Doc was at a loss - other than maybe I don't need as much food? Mom & he talked more - and they decided the Doc needed to see what I was up to in a control situation. Sooooo the Swabie left me here!

I spent the afternoon being a very irritated Pirate, hissing and showing my displeasure. I refused to eat dinner, and so I didn't get a shot. YAYYYYYY

This morning I am still refusing food, and the Swabie is even more worried about me. The Doc is going to do more testing today, and doubts I will be coming home today.

Since I am locked in this room without a view, Willow will be in charge of the Buzzin Into Spring Contest while I am here.

Please be sure to tag your photos, and play our Trivia Games for extra prizes.

Purrlease do not leave me Rosies - comments are greatly appreciated and loved!

Will keep you posted from the Room Without A View

The life of a Pirate is never boring. Two weeks ago Mom was worried I wasn't acting right - so she took me to see the Doc. Sure enough I had another "Morgan" which was a low grade fever, and my sugar was high again. 10 days of yucky meds and I still wasn't my old Pirate Self.

I wasn't eating well, and I started fighting my shots. So, this morning after I finally ate - Mom decided I needed to visit the Doc and she dropped me off on her way to work.

Boy was she surprised when was sugar was 386, and I had a fever of 102.8 The Doc said I was back on meds again - and call later. Mom thought about it - and called the Doc back. She told him maybe we should run blood - a high fever and one so close - we need to get to the bottom of this.

Mom got a call a half hour later - the Doc checked me stem to stern - and it turned out I had an absess tooth! Hmmm - now that explains a lot! The Doc wanted to fix me right up, and of course Mom said - YOU BETTER!

When she called to check on me - I was hanging out making sure the Doc was giving everyone good care - BUT - I was now minus FOUR TEETH! I lost all my back molars. The Doc said it's those bad genes I have again.

Heyyyyyyyyyy I don't have bad genes! I am MORGAN THE PIRATE GATO, and I am not happy unless I am issuing challenges!

Purrs from my reserved cage at the Kitty Spa! Thank heavens I know where the Doc keeps his passwords!

Diana was a very special lady, always upbeat, always caring even though she was very ill.

Her daughter is on her way to Colorado to do her memorial, and I've asked that she please let me know what will happen to Theo. I am hoping someone in the family will be able to take him.

Everyone who knew Diana loved her, and her silly photos, silly language - but most of all her love for Theo and her Catster Friends.

We will miss her very much.

Heaven has gained a special Angel today.

Anyone who is using Vetsulin Insulin - contact your Vet-er-in-arian today and ask them what they will be doing for you!

Meowmy is calling Dr Nero this morning - since I have been on Vetsulin since PZI Vet is no longer available. Meowmy is furry worried about me changing insulin AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to stupid Drug Companies who cannot make a decent insulin for us furry creatures!

FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine Alerts Veterinarians About Problems with Vetsulin® to Treat Diabetes in Dogs and Cats

November 2, 2009

The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) and Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health are alerting veterinarians and pet owners that Vetsulin®, a porcine insulin zinc suspension used to treat diabetes in animals, may have varying amounts of crystalline zinc insulin in the formulation. Because this Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health product is out of specification it could cause a delay in insulin action and an overall longer duration of insulin activity. Products having significant problems with stability can affect the management of chronic diseases. Unstable insulin products can result in unpredictable fluctuations in the glucose levels of diabetic patients. Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health is unable to assure FDA that each batch of their product is stable.

FDA and Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health request that veterinarians closely monitor their patients receiving Vetsulin® for any changes in onset or duration of activity, or for any signs of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia. The classic signs of hyperglycemia include increased thirst, increased urination, weight loss and lethargy. The classic signs of hypoglycemia would include disorientation, unsteadiness, weakness, lethargy, and seizures.

While Intervet/Schering-Plough is working with FDA on resolving this issue, supplies may be limited. Therefore, veterinarians should consider transitioning their diabetic patients to other insulin products. In addition, FDA encourages veterinarians to report any adverse events with the Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health product to the company through the Technical Services Department at 1-800-224-5318.

Meows bows his head in furry special Pirate Prayers to honor David Harple, a furry special human who crossed to the Rainbow Bridge.

In the fall of 2006, Meowmy & Dr Nero agreed I was ready for my Cat-A-Ract surgery, and the next step in my Quest to see the world. I was a year old, and becoming a strong young pirate.

Meowmy contacted the Danbury News-Times and asked them if they would do a story on me. She wanted to advertise my newly created Morgan's Beds and we hoped fur donations since I am a permanent foster kitty from Save A Sato. They loved the idea, especially after seeing my Catster Page.

The reporter (Donna) and photographer (David Harple) came to meet us. David was furry kind and very interested to know all about me. He knew Dr Nero and was so happy he could help me survive my rare diabetes. Meowmy was furry surprised, but I was very comfortable with David & Donna and I even purred fur them.

He took lots of pictures of me, and they appeared in the newspaper. Thanks to those pictures Meowmy met Aunt Marylou who donated a whole lot to my surgery. They are bestest friends now!

After my surgery, the newspaper did a follow up story on me to say Thank Mew to everyone fur their kindness! The picture above is the picture of me with Dr Nero, My Hero that David took of us.

David had a special gift with his camera, and he always genuinely cared about his subjects. He wanted to know about them, and he touched many hearts along the way. Meowmy & mine included.

What many including us did not know, is he was fighting kidney cancer for six years. Including when he came to meet me.

Sending Pirate Prayers and Sad Purrs to his wife and children. May David's memory live on in everyone's hearts - he touched so many.

Tonight we bow our heads in special prayers for the sad loss of a very special friend.

Fela Kiti crossed to the Rainbow Bridge today at 12:00 PM Eastern. The Angels lined up around him, and Angel Jesse James helped to escort him to God's arms.

He was a very special kitty who had a very sad life, until his Dad found him on the Internet Adoption pages. He fell head over heals in love, and so did his Mom. They went and adopted him.

He was very shy for a long time, but little by little with his sisters, and parents love - he came out of his shell.

A few months ago he was diagnosed with cancer. It was the bad kind that they couldn't operate on, but he went for chemotherapy. It helped for a while, but then the cancer fought harder, and sadly it won.

We bow our heads in honor of Fela Kiti, and send our love to his sisters and very sad parents.

Thank Mew Furry much to the Human Dads who voted fur my Dad as Top Catster Dad!

I am furry proud he is my Dad - and he has been havin lots of fun explaining how he is Father of the Year! MOL!!!!!!

Thank Mew to Everyfur for my Gifts! Meows is trying to have the human Swabie send purrsonal Thank Mews fur me - but she's been having another crazy human week. Furry good week - just furry busy!

On a Furry Happy Celebration Note - Daddy had endoscopy Number 20 on Wednesday. Dr Whelan came in to talk to my pawrents after, and he was smiling and furry furry happy! He said there were no strictures, and Daddy's esophogus looked pawsome! He told them to call him after Daddy has his surgery end of July, and he will decide if/when he will do another endoscopy. He told Daddy he can eat anything he wants - sooo he's looking for his Cheese Steak Sandwich and he wants barb-e-que riblets!

WOOHHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Goooooooooooo Daddy!

I am doing furry furry well with my new Insulin. I am staying at a wopping 8 pounds and my levels are good.

I don't have to go back to see Dr Nero, My Hero until I go for my Staycation when Daddy is in the hop-sit-al. Meowmy promises to pack me all my serious Pirate Stuff, and she will come visit me every day. I can see thye Daddy hop-sit-al from the Kitty Spa - so I will keep a close eye on my Daddy too!

I am busy working my paws off making Morgans Beds and am excited that my furriends will also have some sports beds to chose. Meows may even keep a Patriot Bed fur me - so I can watch football with Daddy.

Purrs and Love Always

I have been tagged by Little Coqui, my adorable Godchild, who I am SO PROUD OF!

I am supposed to tell you seven things abouts me and then tag seven friends. I'm telling you 7 things - but I won't be tagging 7 friends. I love you all furry much - and am proud to have you in my life!

Here are my seven things:

1. I am also from Puerto Rico, and Mom says "I has a bit of a wild, spicy attitudes that might comes from my heritage. " Little Coqui and I share these traits - we are excellent Salsa dancers, and have tough little Latino tempers. Feed us - Snuggle Us, Love Us - or we will get you.

2. I like to play with toys, but I never get mad if Lakoda takes them away from me.

3. I love my kitty siblings and my doggys, but my bestest friends are Mocha & Latte my rats. They talk to me when I sit on my couch next to their cage.

4. I love my little brother (well ok he's huge, but I am his older brother) Lakoda. He's fun to chase, and he knows I am the boss, even if he's bigger than me.

5. I still love to eat, eat and eat some more.

6. I love to help Mom make Morgan's Beds, but especially love helping with nips. I climb into the bowl and roll into the catnip. The I shake it all over the house for my siblings.

7. I am in charge of getting Daddy better. My role is to make him smile, and I even will jump on the couch with him now. Happily he is now done with his Cancer Treatments, now he has to have more tests and get strong again. I love my Dad a LOT.

Bonus: Mom is now the "official" Shelter Liason for Save A Sato in the USA. She is who will work with El Presidente Aunt Gloria, to get the puppys and hopefully in the future some kittys flown to the US for adoptions in Partner Shelters. Did you know I am the ONLY KITTY EVER to have stayed at the Save A Sato Shelter? Aunt Gloria kept me there for 2 weeks before I flew to my Mom in CT.

Check out the updated website - more updates will be coming:

www.saveasato.org

I am hoping to start getting more Catster time again - I miss you all furry furry much!

Love

It has been a while since I've updated my diary, please accept my humble Pirate Apologies!

Thank Mew Thank Mew Thank Mew to Every Fur who sent me Birthday Wishes and Purrs for Daddy. Meows cannot thank you enough! Meows is still trying to have enough catputer time to read them all - and hopefully thank every fur. You are the best of the best!

Meows send special special thanks to Aunt Tracy, Baxter & Kenzie for all the purrsents they brought us yesterday, the tons and tons of Fancy Feast for Meows Truly, and for taking Miss Bambi to Mass-a-chu-setts to live a happier ferret life with a new boyfriend Mario. Thank Mews to Moozer, Sophie, Sunshine and Furmilys for the awsome Catmas in August purresents. That was so much fun! We are getting new toys every day!

I am getting furry snuggly now, and I jump on Mommy and Daddy for cuddles. They smile a lot. I can still do no wrong and can get away with sleeping on tables and counters. I just look up at them, and they end up petting me and telling me I am spoiled. MOL!!!!!

My new job is to make the humans smile and relax as Daddy starts his treatments. Daddy started chemo last week, and Monday he starts radiation. We are all being furry good and just making him smile. We love our Daddy furry furry much and are purrin and purrin for him to get better.

Meows loves you all furry furry much, and will try and check in with mew as much as possible.

Worried Meows from the Pirate,

Meow is very sad and worried about my special friend Mocha. Meowmy had her and Latte out for playtime today, and Mocha has a very very big tumor on her backside. It does not hurt her, and she is eating and drinking.

Meowmy is taking her to the Doctor in Westport on Monday. The Doctor thinks she may have a mammory tumor, and will most likely need surgery.

I am very scared and worried. Sammy just crossed to the bridge, and now Mocha has a tumor.

Meow knows the power of purr really really works, so on Monday can all of my very special Catster Friends please do purrs for Mocha? She's such a sweet and gentle little rat. She sits and talks to me all the time.

Lakoda has the campfire going at full speed and he has also asked the Great White Warrior to please take care of her.

Purrin for my Mocha

Simon Cowell

Enterprising, brassy and not afraid to meow what's on his mind, Morgan the Pirate is Idol-maker Simon Cowell!

There's no beating around the bush with Morgan the Pirate and flattery will get you nowhere. Morgan the Pirate calls it like he sees it, and stands firm on all fours behind his decisions. The cat definitely does not have Morgan the Pirate 's tongue—some of his pals think he's bitter and confrontational, while others find him to be impawsibly hilarious. Morgan the Pirate 's influence on those around him is remarkable, and he takes advantage of this fact and uses it wisely.
It is with a very very sad heart that I have to tell my friends my bestest friend in the whole world - Sam passed to the Rainbow Bridge today. Sam was a rat, and to many that may make him a nobody. But to me he was someone so special in my life.

Sam arrived a few months before me. He was an older guy, and his family was allergic - all of a sudden - and they were home number 4. He got Mom over her rat phobia, and he was always making her giggle.

When I arrived, a very sick kitten, Sam took me under his wing. He and I would talk for hours, about how I needed to Believe. He said that's how he got through living in all of his houses- never knowing any love. He told me he would be with me through thick and thin, and that this house was full of love.

Sam and I hung out all the time. I loved to lay on his cage, or next to it, and he would come and squeak to me. I would head rub him and purr.

Sam was my company when I was recovering from my eye surgery. He stayed next to me and made me relax.

Sam was very very very old for a Rat. But he wanted to stay with us for as long as possible. His back legs gave out, but he would still eat, and he could climb into his hammock for naps. His cage was changed to be Senior Comfy.

We hung out together and he told me soon he would have to leave me, and go keep Jesse company. I was very sad, because I truly loved Sam with all my heart.

Today Jesse flew down and brought Sam to God in Heaven.

I will never forget Sam, and he will always be in my heart. I know Jesse will take good care of him, and Sam's spirit will be with me. But I am still very sad.

Fly free Sam - I know you have your wings - and will come visit me with Jesse.

A very sad Morgan

National Diabetes Awareness Month

If you didnâ ...

National Diabetes Awareness Month
Information provided courtesy of Intervet, Inc.

If you didn’t know your dog or cat could develop diabetes, you’re not alone. Many owners don’t realize diabetes can affect pets.

Diabetes mellitus, the clinical name for “sugar diabetes”, is a disease that affects the level of glucose, or sugar, in your pet’s blood. Diabetes results from a shortage of insulin or when the body has trouble properly using the insulin it has made.

A sample of your pet’s urine may be tested for glucose and (ketones).
If glucose is present in your pet’s urine, the veterinarian will also want to determine your pet’s blood glucose level. If the blood glucose level is consistently higher than normal, your pet’s pancreas may not be secreting enough insulin.

Glucose -- A simple sugar that is the major source of energy for many organisms.

Insulin -- A hormone secreted by the pancreas that helps cells absorb glucose from the bloodstream.

Ketones -- Acids that appear in urine when there is an insulin shortage and the body is using fat instead of glucose for energy.

Hyperthyroidism -- A common condition of older cats that has characteristic clinical signs related to overproduction of the thyroid hormones. It can be present concurrently with diabetes mellitus.

Knowing the signs of diabetes is the first step in protecting your pet’s health. If any of these statements describes your pet, speak with your veterinarian about the possibility of diabetes:

· Drinks more water than usual
· Urinates more frequently or has “accidents” outside the litterbox
· Always acts hungry, but maintains or loses weight
· Is less active or sleeps more (lethargic)
· Has thinning, dry and dull hair

Controlling diabetes often requires daily insulin injections to restore insulin level and manage blood glucose levels. Your veterinarian may suggest an insulin product or an oral hypoglycemic medication, depending on your pet’s needs. Each diabetic cat or dog insulin requirement is different, so you will need to work with your veterinarian to find the correct dose for your pet. It may even be necessary for your pet to stay at the veterinary clinic for a few days so your veterinarian can closely monitor your pet’s response to insulin.

Monitoring blood glucose level is an important part of diabetes management. Because each diabetic pet is different, your veterinarian will need to help you determine which monitoring device — such as urine strips or blood glucose meters — will work best.

Diet plays a vital role in helping to keep your pet’s diabetes regulated. Ideally, your pet should be fed the same amount of food at the same time(s) every day.

Some cats prefer eating small amounts throughout the day. If your cat prefers to eat small, frequent meals, your veterinarian probably will not try to change it.

Regular veterinary checkups help identify changes in your pet’s condition. Diabetes can behave differently over time, even after a long period of stability. While you may feel confident in your ability to care for your diabetic pet, visiting your veterinarian regularly will help you to successfully manage the disease over time.

Your veterinarian is an essential partner in your pet’s diabetes care. Only your veterinarian can diagnose diabetes and provide appropriate preventive and management programs.

I hope this will help!

Let's help spread the word, Diabetes can be controlled, and even kittens can be saved! Just look at me!

Purrin and Enjoying Life

I've been tagged by my two Buddies Captain Morgan and Hassan.

I have to tag 10 other special cats - and say something nice about them.

This is FUN!!!!!!!!!

1. The beautiful and enchanting - Sarah Connor - She makes my heart skip a beat, every time I gaze at her beautiful face. She makes me feel like I can conquer the world.

2. Ashlye Delicious Dazzle - She's always there to encourage me when things get a little rough. She's had some tough times herself, but is always courageous and happy. A friend to the end.

3. Simba - My special, special friend Simba! She is the most amazing Heroine Catster has ever seen. I am truely blessed by her friendship.

4. Diego - He's my best friend, my shoulder to lean on, my confident, my encouragement and my playmate.

5. Reuben - My second best friend, always there to cheer me up, teach me how to look my best, and help me shop for cool clothes. A cat I've always looked up to.

6. McKenna - One of the most beautiful and special ladies I could ever meet. I treasure her friendship.

7. Scootie - Another beautiful and special friend. She's always sharing the love, and we love her very much.

8. Isaac - Now this is the coolest Dude! He has the most outrageous accent, a heart of gold, and he never fails to make me smile!

9. Maneki - She's a new and very courageous friend. She just had her leg amputated, and she's ready to take on the world. I am so happy we met and became friends. Guys - check her out! She's a looker!

10. Adam - This little guy is my Catster Mentee, and I am very honored to have the priviledge. Even being abused and set on fire by two demented teenagers cannot stop this little guy. He's taken his treatments in stride, and he loves life and everyone.

I love you all very much - and am so happy to have been able to tag you!

Today is my Second Birthday and the last two days have been so much fun!

Yesterday I went to the Cat Clinic for my blood test, it was perfect!

But the main reason was to celebrate my Birthday! We brought a special Pirate Ship Cake, complete with a Cat Crew, my two dogs - Gypsy and Amber, and a Bunny. We had Happy Birthday Pirate Banners hung, and the decorations were of course Puerto Rico colors. Oranges, Greens and Blues - we had to have the Tropical colors. I also presented Dr Nero with a special photo album of the last two years of my life. He really liked it!

Last night we had a Catster Party, even though Mom was tired from helping Aunt Marylou paint - she was a good Mom and she typed for me.

It was amazing! I could not believe how many of my special friends came! My Beautiful future Sister-In-Law Elsa sent the whole thing up. Elsa you are AMAZING - THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

I had my first ever date, with the absolutely stunning Miss Sarah Connor! I hate to admit it, but I fainted when she sang Happy Birthday to me.

Snowy came from South Africa, Gizmo and Miss Maxy came from the UK, Wally, Samoa, Tyson, Quatrro, Luna, BBQ, Jobel, Jillian, Jaspar, and so many others came from Canada! Simba, Nero, Diego, Lulu, Isaac, Captain Morgan, Sparkman, Moose, Cybil, Toulouse, Ashlye, Queenie, Merlin and the Creatures, Mouse, Alfie, Catsy, Chadwick, Winnie, Chester and my very very special Mentee Adam came! I cannot even begin to name all of my friends who came.

I have received so many rosettes, stars, zealies and presents in the mail - it really makes me feel very special and very much loved. I am so grateful to have become friends with you all. You've been with me through the best of times and the scariest of times. You are true friends and I love you all!

Thank you so much to everyone for making this such a special Birthday for me! I promise I will thank everyone of you personally, even if it takes the typist a week.

Meows Everycat - I am sorry I haven't written in a while.

It was fun have Jillian and Jaspar stay over on their way to Canada. But what happened next was even better! Mom drove the kittys to Hartford, and on the way back she stopped at PetSmart for kitty litter.

Mom always checks the kittys and critters who are looking for furever homes, and this time there were many many many many kittens for adoption. She had never seen so many there before, and it broke her heart.

But then she spotted fluffy white ears, and a long tail walking around behind the glass. The young man, Eric, a volunteer from CT Humane Society was cleaning their cage. Mom asked to see the fluffy white ears with the kitten attached - and he told her to come inside. Mom picked the little guy up, and looked into super green eyes - just like hers. The little guy purred and gently touched Mom's face with his paw. She put him on his back and he just snuggled - Mom was toast.

She called Dad - expecting to be told she was insane - but instead he said "If he gets along with MORGAN, and the dogs - he can come home. But he is your problem if he doesn't". MOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom came home with cell pictures of the kitten, and expected Dad to talk her out of it. Instead, he made her call Eric back, and make sure he held the kitten until Wednesday when they did their adoptions.

Mom and Dad looked through many many names and finally decided on Lakoda - which means friend to all. Mom and Aunt Marylou made the trek back to PetSmart in Waterbury when Mom got home from work that Wednesday.

When they brought him home, we all got to meet him right away. Mom set up a crate in the dining room so he would get used to everyone very quickly.

From the minute we met - I was happy! Finally - I could be a BIG Brother! Lakoda and I became instant brothers. I flattened him and washed his little face. I scrabbed his scruff and wouldn't let him go until he cried Uncle!

It's been a month, and he is growing like a weed! He's as long as I am now, and we play together all the time. We run, we chase, we wrestle, we climb, and we snuggle. We wash each other - and he gets brown hairballs. I am having so much fun teaching him things.

I don't think I have ever been happier in my life!

My fur shines, my appetite is great, and my body is all muscle. First the first time in my life I don't have to go back for a blood test for 6 whole weeks.

I am so excited - my second birthday is coming up, and I have so much to celebrate!

I have totally beaten all the odds on being born the rare Diabetic kitten. I can see the world, thanks to the wonderful generosity of many humans all over the country, including Puerto Rico. I have a baby brother that I love very much, and the most amazing friends any Cat could wish for.

Life just keeps getting better for this little Pirate!

We are pawsatively excited! We have two Feline Guests coming for the night.

Jillian & Jaspar are spending the night on their long journey from West Virginia to Canada. Tommorow morning Mom will drive them to Hartford, where they will start the next leg of their journey home.

This is such an amazing story! Their Mom fell in love with little Jaspar:

http://www.catster.com/cats/580722

and when his picture was sent to her, she filled out an application right away.

All was set - and then he got sick. He went to a Foster Home and got better.

But meanwhile - his Mom Jillian - http://www.catster.com/cats/580727
was not adopted.

Her time at the shelter was running out - and in a few days she was headed to Death Row. Happily Jaspar's new Mom could not let that happen. She called the shelter and adopted her too!!!!!!!

Hopefully they will be in their new furever home by 7:00 PM Eastern Time tommorow night.

Let's give a big PAWS UP to all the wonderful Catsters who are helping make this adoption happen.

Please send them lots of welcoming Rosettes - and we all look forward to being friends with them for a long lone time to come!

I'm walkin on Sunshine, Woah Ooh, Walkin on Sunshine...........

This morning I woke up and the sun was shining, and it was a beautiful summer day in Connecticut. I spent a few hours watching the birds from my Crows Nest, and playing with my gazillion toys.

Mom worked home, and I had fun watching what she does for IBM. She was working on Visas for a Thailand and Vietnam trip for her boss. It was kind of interesting actually. They do a lot of instant messaging too - I kept hitting the pop up windows. I liked that - but I like her regular computer better than her laptop.

Mom got my Pirate Carrier out at 11:00 AM, and dressed me in my shirt and tie. She told me I was going to visit Dr Nero, My Hero and get my blood sugar checked. I'm not crazy about the needles - but I love to see Dr Nero!

Mom and I drove to the Cat Clinic and when we got there I got to see my friend Sam. He's a big orange tiger kitty and my buddy. He loves Mom and she always gives him hugs and kisses.

Mom and I went in the exam room, and I watched my other kitty friends running back and forth through the glass door.

The Doc and Terry came in, and the Doc loved my tie! He said "Morgan, you didn't have to dress formal for me! It's summer, you could have worn a T-shirt!"

He took my blood and put it in the meter and the number came up at 143!!!!!!!!!! Yippeeeeeeeeeee He, Mom and Terry were all excited!

That was PURRFECT! He also weighed me, and I am now up to 8 1/3 pounds!

Mom asked him to give me a manicure and a pedicure, and boy did I grumble! The Doc says I'm a man now, so I am allowed to protest!

He said my insulin doses are purrfect - I am at 2 units in the morning, and 1 unit at night. Since my eye surgery, I seem to get stronger and happier every day.

And for THE FIRST TIME EVER IN MY LIFE - I don't have to go back for 6 to 8 Weeks!!!!!!!!! YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

That will be just in time for my Big Pirate Birthday Bash! Mom is even getting a Pirate Cake to take to the Staff. It will be my second birthday - and it's gonna be a HUGE celebration.

Who ever thought I would make it to one year? That was a celebration.

Two is a MIRACLE!

Mom also asked the Doc about treats for me. I can now have ham, steak, liverwurst and cheese for a snack! YUMMMMMMMMMMMM

The Rules

Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Cats who are tagged need to write in their own diary about the seven random facts and the rules. You need to choose seven cats to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to leave them a comment that they have been tagged and to read your diary.

My Seven Random Facts:

1. After I arrived from San Juan and ended up on Mom's doorstep, I spent a month in the Cat Clinic, and giving Mom and Dad heart attacks. She actually had the nerve to ask Dr Nero if he would consider keeping me.

2. Dr Nero told her to give me a chance (with a HUGE smile on his face). hahaha - he KNEW she wasn't giving me up!

3. I have the gift of making people love me, including the Vets and their Techs. I am the perfect patient.

4. I don't mind my insulin shots, cause I eat brteakfast/dinner at the same time.

5. I LOVE my sister Apache and my brother Amigo. They are my best friends in the whole wide world.

6. I like to help Mom clean litter boxes. As soon as there's a fresh scoop of Yesterdays News in a clean one, I hop in and make a deposit.

7. I hate my eye drops, but I love that Mom smothers me in kisses when they are done.

I have tagged:

1. Diego
2. Tyson
3. Bijou
4. Wally Angel
5. Zipper
6. Merlin the Cat Wizard
7. River

It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I write this Diary Entry.

Dr Jim Richards the Director of the Cornell University Feline Health Center was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday. The roads up in Ithaca are beautiful country roads surrounded by mountains, and Dr Richards swerved his motorcycle to avoid a Cat that ran across the road.

He was an avid motorcyclist and had been riding for years. He had just ordered a new Ducati, and was planning a trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains with some of his fellow Doctors.

When cancerous growths, or sarcomas, began to appear on the skin of some recently vaccinated cats, Richards led the Vaccine-Associated Feline Sarcoma Task Force through medical investigations and recommendations to cat owners and veterinarians.

Dr Richards also served as an adviser to Alley Cat Allies, the trap-neuter-return program to manage populations of feral cats.

Dr Richards and Dr Nero were together in Miami a few weeks ago and talked about me. My Diabetes, and my Cataract Surgery at Cornell in January. He complimented Dr Landry and said I had the best Surgical Team in the country. Mom and I were hoping to meet him when we went back up there.

We sent special prayers to his wife and his two sons, and to everyone at Cornell University.

We hope they know that as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge on his way to heaven, he was greeted by thousands of Cats that he saved by his knowledge, his support, and most of all his love.

My head bowed in Silence in memory of a very special Gentleman.

Meows to all my Special Special Catster Friends!

My typist has been trying soooooo hard to Thank Everycat for all of the wonderful Rosettes and Stars you have sent me. She tried really really hard to thank everycat purrsonaly - but she has still not been able to.

So I hope you don't mind if I thank some of you together:

Ashley, Ashlye, Arnold P, Booger, Biscuit, Carbon, Cauliflower, Cheyanne, Crazy Kitty Crew, Diego, Dutchess, Eve, Gimme, Grover, Jake, Gordy, Hannah, Lisa, Macaroni, Mercedes, Merlin the Cat Wizard, Mr. Fez, O'Malley, Picasso, Pooky, Rocky Ann, Scooter, Skeezix, Snowy, Sullivan, Sunshine, Taz and Wally

You really all made my day, my week, my month, my year! Your special friendships are all soo very appreciated and enjoyed.

I am having such a great time since I can see. I spend lots of time watching the birds, chasing Amigo and wrestling with him.

I like to run up to someone now - look up at them, and then run away. I am trying to tell them to chase me, but only Amigo and Apache will do it. Amber looks at me like I am a crazy cat - MOL!!!!!!

I like to attack the bilge rats on the pirate ship, and my new passion is paper bags. They are fun!!!!!

Today Mom was brushing Amber and trimming her fur. I kept taking her fur and trying to run away with that. When that didn't work, I stole a bunch of tissues and ripped them up.

Wow life is so much fun!!!!!!!!

I am feeling better than I ever have in my entire life, and I am soo happy!

Dear God,

I know you have your paws very full right now with all the sick humans, and all the sick creatures.

I know you have the power to perform miracles because look at everything you've done for me.

I say my prayers every night and I am so appreciative of everything you have done for me. I try to be the best cat I can, and I have not stolen any ferret food or dog treats in a very long time.

I hate to bother you, but I have a few special requests for you.

Would you please help the Doctors who are treating all of the sick kittys and puppys who have been poisoned by bad pet food. Can you please help them to find the right treatment so these innocent creatures can feel better and go home to their Mom's and Dad's? Their Mom's and Dad's really miss them so much.

Also, and this is a really really special request. Can you please help Baby Sunshine, Baby Smokey, Baby Max and Baby Bruce grow strong and survive? I know you wanted Baby Uno to come to heaven and keep you company and we are happy she is with you. Their Mom is trying so hard to help them to get better and be strong. She loves them very very much, and we do too.

We Catsters are all sending them the special power of Purr and we know that helps to make them feel better. But we really need your help this time.

I promise to be good and I will do anything that you want me to do. Including being a good boy for my eye drops.

Thank You God for listening!

Love

Thank you so much HQ for making me, a humble Pirate Gato the Catster Cat of the Day. I am truely honored!

Thank you to everycat for all my wonderful Rosettes and Stars, it will take while for us to personaly Thank Everycat - but we will.

It's been an amazing year for me since I arrived into JFK Airport one chilly February night on American Airlines. I went to a foster home because I had "special needs" - my eyes were not perfect.

My original foster Mom was worried because I was so thin, and after a gazillion tests (by a crazy vet), and money that Save A Sato (Mom thought the shelter was paying the bills) did not have - the Doctor sent me home with Insulin and Needles. But the shelter changed their minds about taking me and I was almost homeless.

That's when my real life began. Mom being the only Save A Sato volunteer in CT just about popped her cork when the Lady told her about the insulin. She made her bring me to her that night. Goooooooooooooo Mom!!!!!!!!

Mom spent a week watching me, and talking to her friends about who was the best kitty vet and would help Save A Sato. One special friend who also has a Sato recommended Dr Nero at the Cat Clinic. Mom decided since I really needed help, she would go and meet with him.

Now this is where it gets fun. Mom took all my Vet Records but left me home. She actually interviewed Dr Nero before she would let him meet me! She told him my whole story and about my foster Mom and the crazy vet. And then they went over my records. Mom was so impressed with him, his knowledge, how much he really cared and by how much he really wanted to help me.

I was supposed to spend a week there getting my Insulin regulated. But being Morgan - I had other plans. Part of being Morgan is making people fall in love with me. I just have a knack for stealing hearts.

The week turned into two, and Mom would come and visit me after work, and bring me presents. Two weeks turned into 3 weeks and I then got to come out of my now reserved cage, and play with the 7 Clinic Kittys. By the time I got home it was just under 4 weeks.

Mom and Dad were nervous wrecks. Dad had to give me two shots a day, and they had to make sure I ate. Plus now they had to get me to like all the other creatures here. MOL!!!!! I lasted home 2 days - did something very wierd and unexplained and went back to the Cat Clinic for another week. I missed everyone there.

Dr Nero, My Hero loves me best of all his many many patients. He is my very special friend, and I love him back.

I finally came home for good, and I have steadily been going forward ever since in my Quest to See the World. When I was finally healthy and strong enough to be neutered everyone celebrated. My first Birthday was celebrated by a huge Birthday Party at the Cat Clinic along with a special cake and tropical fruit. I wasn't allowed any - but I did get Liverwurst when I got home. That stuff is pawsome!

The next step in my Quest was to go to Cornell and have my Eye Surgery done. The newspaper did a wonderful story on me and Mom got enough donations for Morgan'sFund/Save A Sato and selling Morgans Beds to start the ball rolling. A gazillion phone calls, many mornings at 5:00 AM sending thanks you/tax receipts - but every time she looked at me - she smiled.

Mom and I made the almost 5 hour road trip to Cornell in January. Me all decked out in my awesome PetsFlys Pirate Carrier, wearing a Pirate Shirt and sleeping on a Pirate Blanket. My Pirate Bed was packed for my cage and all my meds and supplies.

When Mom and I got there and met the Opthamology Team - I did my normal Morgan routine. I am a perfect patient - and within a half an hour I had the Cornell Staff wrapped in my paws. Mom knew I was in the best of hands, especially with Jessie in charge of me.

I spent a month getting better, and Dr Mosonic told me on Wednesday that my eyes are now perfectly healed. I spend my days making up for lost time and watching everything I can. I love to watch the birds and yesterday I saw my first snowfall. It was so pretty to see.

I even found a bug the other day! I was beating it up and Mom took it away from me. She didn't know what kind of bug it was and she wasn't taking any chances.

Life is good for this little Pirate, and I am so happy to have so many wonderful and caring friends here on Catster.

Meows Everycat,

I have been very remiss in updating my Diary, please accept my humble apologies!

It's been a busy few weeks in my Quest to See the World. I've been getting my blood sugars checked every week, and still get my daily 3 eye drops - YUCK!

Every day my eyes are brighter and brighter - and I can see better and better. I now have my very own kitty couch on the front window, and every morning I lounge out and watch the birdies.

My head goes back and forth and my ears are twitching away. Today I saw a HUGE birdie fly over the house - he was as big as me! Mom said he was a hawk!

Today I went for my blood test, and I was at 187! YIPPEEE - what that means is that my insulin stays the same - and although everyone will miss seeing me weekly - I don't have to go back to the Cat Clinic for a WHOLE MONTH!!!!!!!!

Every day I see something new or do something new. I am becoming more and more a "normal" cat - something no one was ever sure would happen.

All everyone does is smile when they see me. I have new confidence in me - and I now annoy Max - instead of him annoying me.

I lounge on the couches with the dogs, or even on the dogs. I have also become a huge hockey fan. I will sit on my Cat Condo or couch and just follow the puck.

It just proves that the power of PAWSITIVE THINKING and the POWER OF PURRS really works!

Apache and I are sponsoring the Babes in Blue stroll and we are so excited that so many beautiful Ladies have joined! My swabie is making a gorgeous Blue Morgan's Bed for the Grand Prize Winner. We were so excited that Catster mentioned it in the Newsletter! Thank you HQ!

And for my Singing Fans - a new song for you - sung to Shakira - Whenever, Wherever:

Lucky I was born
That far away so
So we could both
Make fun of distance (San Juan)
Lucky that I love
A foreign land for
The lucky fact
Of your existence
Baby I would climb
The Andes solely
To count the freckles
On your body
Never could imagine
There were only
Too many ways to
Love somebody
Lo ro lo le lo le
Lo ro lo le lo le
Can't you see
I'm at your feet (just please don't trip on me)

Whenever, wherever
We'll learn to
Be together
I'll be there and
You'll be near
And that's the
Deal my dear (hehehe like there could be any question?)
They're over
You're under
You'll never have
To wonder
We can always
Play by ear
But that's the
Deal my dear

Hello my special friends!

Thank you for all of the Rosettes and special healing purrs for me while I vacationed at the Cat Clinic this week.

Mom brought Jesse James to the Cat Clinic this morning for a check up. He's old and fragile, and his tubes get clogged sometimes.

Mom said Hi when she got there - and I sat straight up in my cage. I HEARD MY MOM!!!!!!!!! The Doc came in to see Jesse James, and told Mom - "He knows you're here, come look". And there I was - "Hi MOM!!!!!!!!!!!"

Poor Jesse James had to have an X-Ray, and he got violated again. Boy he was not happy at all! He has to get fibers in his diet now.

While Dr Nero, my Hero worked on Jesse James, I got to cuddle with Mom!

I was so happy to see her - I missed her a lot. She took me to see the fishies, and for the first time ever - I SAW them! They are very cute! Mom was talking to another patient with a sick kitty, and he knew who I was! He said I am famous - he had read my special stories. He also said I was very cute.

They took me away from Mom and she kissed me Goodbye. We were both sad.

The Doc talked to Mom about Jesse James and told her how to make him feel better. She was happy cause she's been so worried about him, he is a very very old kitty and she gets nervous when he is sick.

Then Mom got a BIG SURPRISE! The girls brought me in all set in my Pirate Carrier - I was coming home!!!!!!!!! So Mom waited for Jesse James to come out - and MOL - they had him all snug and comfy in a cage and forgot he could come home too.

I came home and the doggys washed me all over. Then my favorite brother Amigo gave me kisses! Apache gave me a quick kiss and sauntered off to play. Even Max is being nice to me!

Well today I felt much much better than I have since my surgery. My belly is better too!

I played with a lot of toys, I pounced on them, I slept on my Rat Cage, Napped on my Squirrel Cage - and then did laps around the house. I played downstairs with Apache & Amigo and teased Mom when she came downstairs.

My sugar levels are still high, but the Doc and Mom think they will get better as I feel better.

I also want to say a very special Thank You to all of the very special Lady Judges for the Men in Pink Stroll. Especially Bella who made the most pawesome awards for you guys.

Thanks to all you awesome guys for joining the stoll and helping me celebrate the first year of my Quest to See the World. Congrats to all the Winners!

Meows Fellow Catsters,

Well it is Deja Vu all over again. Yesterday I was soooo happy, I was meowing for joy! I got my collar off, I got to go play, and I got to me ME!

But this last month has really messed up my little body. I refused my chicken last night, Mom hand fed me and I ate a tiny bit. Dad stayed up until 1:00 AM and kept trying to get me to eat - I wasn't hungry. Mom and Dad knew my sugar levels were gonna be a little strange from all the steroids so they were keeping a super close eye on me.

This morning I refused my chicken again, and when Mom picked me up for snuggles, my little belly was all wet, bright red, and hot. Uh Oh! I did inhale my Fancy Feast, so I got my insulin and my eye meds.

Then Mom dressed me in my Pink Pirate Shirt, put me in my Pirate Carrier, and took me to the Cat Clinic. Mom walked in and said Surprise - and Terry said Uh - Oh what did Morgan do now?

They are used to me just coming - Mom stopped needing to call ages ago. I even have my own reserved cage where I can watch all the pretty tech's work from, and a stockpile of my own Fancy Feast there. They all give me lots of hugs and kisses. Plus the Doc is used to be borrowing his laptop.

I looked so handsome in my Pink Shirt, I made everyone smile. Dr Nero, My Hero loves me - and he thinks I'm the coolest Pirate ever!

Well, my sugar levels are high, and he has to "tweak" my doses. I have an infection on my belly and I have to get belly sprays. I also have a slight fever.

So I will stay here for a few days until I am feeling better.

It's actually fun this time, cause I can really SEE what the Doc is up to all day. Boy there are a lot of kittys who to come be healed by him!

Don't forget tommorow is the BIG Men in Pink Contest Announcement, I will be announcing from the Cat Clinic at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. Amigo will also be helping.

Please be sure to thanks all the wonderful Lady Judges, especially my beautiful friend Bella. Without her this judging would have been impossible.

Well I better go, Mr Mousie says it's time for a Nap.

Good Night everyone!

Well today I dressed in my finest Pirate Garb, and Mom even wore her Pirate necklace and we traveled to NY to see Dr Mosonic.

Now as everyone knows, I threatened to make her walk the plank last night, I was just sooooooooo tired of being a prisoner!

As soon as the Techs saw Mom, they came right over! How is Morgan doing??? Mom said I am frustrated.

We had to wait a while and I watched all the doggys - I was the only kitty there, but lots and lots of squeaking barking doggys. They gave me a headache they were so loud.

We finally got to go see Dr Mosonic, and she took me out and told me how handsome and adorable I was. She loved my Pirate Shirt. She loves me a lot, because I am a very good patient, and she wanted me to see the world.

She checked my eyes really really good, and she says they are healing just AWESOME! She says Dr Landry did a fabulous surgery on me! YAYYYYY

Then Mom told asked if she had read my Diary last night - OOOPS - Mom told her I threatened to make her walk the plank if I didn't get all of my Pirate Demands. She smiled and laughed, and said she would "try" to give in to my demands.

She finished all my tests - and guess what? I got EVERY DEMAND!

No more e-collar, no more crate, no more steroids, and I can be FREE!

I could go home and play and climb the ferret and ratty cages! YIPPPPPEEE

Mom also called Dr Nero, my Hero and since I'm off the steroids, he lowered my insulin! I will go see him on Wednesday!

I was so excited, I spent the whole trip home washing so I looked presentable when I saw my family again. Mom let me out of my carrier in the kitchen, and Gypsy and Amber my doggys gave me lots of kisses. Gypsy moon dogged she was so happy she could play with me.

Apache and Amigo came over and said hi, and Max even gave me a brotherly kiss. I went and explored the house and I SAW many things for the first time! It's pawsome here! I played and played for ages and then I was so tired I had to go sleep in my Pirate Bed for awhile.

I'M FREE-I'm free,
And freedom tastes of reality,
I'm free-I'm free,
AN' Amigo I'm waiting for you to chase and play with me.

If I told you what it takes to reach the highest high,
You'd laugh and say 'nothing's that simple' (forget your insulin and you will be high!)

So let's see, I had my surgery on January 17, and today is February 11th.

My eyes look great, I feel great - well not really?

I'm still in this HUGE plastic hat, I shovel my food when I try to eat, I look like a grease bunny and my sugar levels are high because of the steroids - so more insulin.

Now to most cats that would mean they were depressed - to me it's just another day in the life of a Pirate.

I've already told Mom - tommorow when I go see Dr Mosonic (who I love), either she takes off this bonnet, or I'm gonna make her walk the plank. Savy?

Either I can get out of lock down and play with my siblings, or I'm gonna make her walk the plank. Savy?

Either I stop taking these steroids, and go back to the other eye meds, or I'm gonna make her walk the plank. Savy?

I plan to arrive tommorow in full Pirate Regala, including my Pirate Shirt - that ought to scare her right? Savy?

I am planning on telling her - I HAVE to back to my Pirate Self on Wednesday - or she is gonna have to walk the plank. Savy?

Wednesday is a year to the day of when my real life began. I started on my way to seeing the world - and I need to celebrate!

I want to kick up my paws and chase a mouse with Amigo - we know there's one in the house - Amigo is keeping a close eye on him for me.

I want to sneak up on Max, instead of him sneaking up on me.

I want to race up and down the stairs with Apache, and get lots of doggy slobbers from Gypsy & Amber.

I want to make Mom crazy and try and get into the ferret cage.

Most of all - I WANT TO BE ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Well here I am with these gorgeous new eyes - ok so I look a little scruffy in the picture but are these not the coolest eyes you ever saw? No more filmy stuff for me!

I am doing great - and I am having lots of fun seeing new things. I'm discovering all kinds of things I never "saw" before. My eyes actually now react to sunlight - where before the sun blinded me.

Mom took me for blood today, and I have to go again on Monday. Then the Doc will see if my insulin can get lowered. My eye meds have steroids in them, and they are messing with my levels a little. Monday I will also have my new picture taken for the follow up story in the Danbury News Times. I really hope David can come and take my pictures. He is the coolest Cat Photographer, and he also has a diabetic kitty.

I still have to wear my collar for another week - which I am not happy about! As you can see I also look scruffy - not my normal handsome self.

Mom cleans by face with special lid scrubs which remove some of the yucky greasy salve from my eyes. But it's not the same as good old cat spit, and my paws. I can't wait to give myself a good scrub down! She brushes me lots so I don't have all those icky knots I was getting.

Little by little I get away with more normal Morgan exploring, but I'm still in lock down and can't play with my siblings. I can't wait to get my paws on Amigo and have a good wrestling match. Or chase Apache up and down the stairs. Or have Max try to bop me thinking I can't see him and just scaring the poop out of him. I miss gentle Jesse James - who just lets me hang with him. And those silly barking dogs who kiss me - I even miss dog slobbers! Plus I want to "see" what those prairie dogs really look like. They like to poke me in the butt when I sit on their cage.

Little by little I am fullfilling my Pirate Quest to see the World, and it is PAWSOME!

Meows Everyone,

Yesterday Mom packed me in my Pirate Bag, and she told me we were gonna get my Eyes Checked. We drove and drove and drove, and I looked out the windows. I could see lots and lots of cars, trucks - and some green things Mom said were trees. It was pretty cool!

We got to the Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center, and everyone told Mom what a cool Pirate Carrier I had. I just sat and watched all these BIG dogs walking around. There was one that I told Mom was really a horse! She laughed and said it was a Great Dane.

Then the girl came and said "Morgan" - and Mom took me into the room. Everyone was sooooooooooooo excited to see me! Dr Mosonic took me right out and gave me a hug. She called me Zorro! MOL!!!!!! She checked my eyes, and then she did lots and lots of tests on them. Funny green drops, and then she rinsed em out. She put more stuff in em, and then looked at them with all kinds of different color lights. Blue Lights, Green Lights and Red Lights. It was like having my very first laser show - and it was fun!

Dr Mosonic said that Dr Landry did a FABULOUS JOB on my eyes! She even showed Mom my stitches which are super super tiny. She was showing all the girls how gorgeous my eyes now are. She is gonna send him some reports about how good I am doing. She said I am healing really really well! And she cut down my eye meds to twice a day! YAYYYYYY

She told Mom she wants me to keep my Cone Head on for a while longer. But - she changed it to what's called a Soft Collar. I had this blue kinda Pirate shaped hat on - and it felt funny. Plus I have a very tiny neck - so it was loose on me.

I was good all day - Mom worked home to keep an eye on me. Then in the afternoon, Mom packed me back into my Pirate Carrier, and said we were going to the Cat Clinic. I got to SEE Dr Nero for the first time ever! I knew his voice right away! My blood sugar is a little high, and he increased my insulin a little. But I only lost a half a pound since surgery which was good.

The Doc and Mom talked about my surgery and Cornell and everything, and the whole time they talked I just watched them. Dr Nero was just smiling and smiling because he was watching me watch him. Instead of my normal - turn my head to see things, my eyes kept moving. They are so happy for me - because I really can see!

Mom and I came home and I ate my dinner and got my insulin shot. Mom still had some computer stuff to do, and I was hanging out in my crate. She kept hearing me scratching this silly feeling blue collar. She knelt down to check me - and oops - I got caught! I finally got the dumb thing off my neck.

Mom was not happy, and she told me I now had to put my other Cone Head back on. Hey - I'm used to that one - it's been on my head for 2 weeks - and at least I can see through it.

Mom called Dr Mosonic this morning and told her what I did. She said she's gotta "Pity the Kitty" being stuck in this for so long. MOL!!!!! I go back to see her on 02/12 - a long time to be a cone head!

Now since I've gotten requests for a new song - I hope you all enjoy this one!

It´s been a long road, getting from there to here - a whole year
It´s been a long time, but my time is finally near.
And I can feel the change in the wind right now. Nothing´s in my way.
And they´re not gonna hold me down no more, no they´re not gonna hold me down.

Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me - hopefully to the ferret food.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me - even this come head.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith, I´ve got faith, faith of the heart.

It´s been a long night. Trying to find my way - hard in the sun.
Been through the darkness - easier to see. Now I finally have my day.
And I SEE my dream come alive at last. I will touch the sky - or the top of the ferret cage.
And they´re not gonna hold me down no more, no they´re not gonna change my mind.

Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me - hopefully to the ferret food.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything - after all I am a Pirate.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith, faith of the heart.
I´ve known the wind so cold, and seen the darkest days.
But now the winds I feel, are only winds of change.
I´ve been through the fire and I´ve been through the rain - also on a plane.
But I´ll be fine.

Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith.

Hope you all enjoy!

Tonight I totally shocked my Mom! I decided I am feeling much much better, and I want to play and be Morgan again.

I cannot wait to give myself a long luxurious bath - my fur is in total disaray and I have knots. Mom tried to trim them tonight - and I said No Way.

I have toys all over my room, in my carrier and all over the house. But I only play with them when they have megacatnip in them. My nose just carries me there.

But TONIGHT I was a TRUE CAT!!!!!!! I batted my toy around the room, and the for the first time EVER - I POUNCED ON IT!!!!! Mom could not believe it! I can see my toys and they are pretty cool! I batted around my life ring, then I played with my turtle, and then I played with my ratties.

I love to watch my rats Sam & Nick - I lay in my crate and just watch them. They are pretty silly guys and they go nuts when Mom comes in the computer room. They climb the cage and act all silly until she gives them a treat. I can't wait until I am allowed to jump back up and just hang out with them.

This seeing thing is amazing! I cannot believe how many cool things I never knew about!

I will have so much fun when I am allowed out into the house to sit on the kitchen window. I will finally be able to see the birds, the butterflies, the leaves falling, and snow. Apache has always told me those are all really cool things to see.

I am soo happy!

Meows Fellow Catsters,

I am feeling better and better! Today is one week since I got my new eyes, and every day they get a little stronger. I am starting to really look at things, and the fuzziness goes away more and more. I am fascinated to lay on the floor and look at things under the door. I think there is a blond doggy out there staring back at me. Mom even sees me watching things and flicking my tail.

My plumbing is working perfectly again, and I am back to eating my 7 meals a day. I have a build in watch, and when I know I am supposed to be eating, I stand at the door of the crate and say MEROOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW

I now try to run out and jump on the desk to eat, Mom has to catch me and put me up there. Mom also now understands why I have to keep my Cone Head on. I am trying to scratch, and I could hurt my eyes very easily right now.

I am loving all of the kisses and cuddles I am getting. Mom is even working home tommorow so I can be out of my crate more - and get lots and lots of kisses. YAYYY MOM!

Tonight I would like to sing a very special song, and dedicate it to my Mom

Under a moonlit sky
I'm gonna be with you
And no one's gonna be around (well maybe Dad)
If you think that you won't fall
Well just wait until
Till the sun goes down

Underneath the starlight - starlight
There's a magical feeling - so right
I'll steal your heart tonight

You can try to resist
Try to hide from my kiss (on the nose)
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
Deep in the dark
You'll surrender your heart (and soul)
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
No, you can't fight it
I'm gonna get to your heart

There's no escape from loving me
Once the gentle breeze
Weaves its spell upon your heart
No matter what you think
It won't be too long
Till I'm in your arms getting kisses and scratches

Underneath the starlight - starlight
I'll be lost in the snuggles - so right
Feel it steal your heart tonight

You can try to resist
Try to hide from my kiss (on the nose)
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
Deep in the dark
You'll surrender your heart
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
No you can't fight it
No matter what you do my purrs are gonna get to you

Don't try then
You're never gonna win

Part of me the starlight - starlight
I'm a magical Pirate - so right
I'll will steal your heart tonight

You can try to resist
Try to hide from my kiss (on the nose)
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
Deep in the dark
You'll surrender your heart
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
No, you can't fight it

You can try to resist
Try to hide from my kiss (on the nose)
But you know
Don't you know that you can't fight the moonlight?
Deep in the dark
You'll surrender your heart
But you know
But you know that you can't fight the moonlight
No, you can't fight it
I've already got your heart

To my Mom, Dad, Aunt Leilani, Aunt Marylou, Aunt Valerie, Dr Casta, Dr Nero, Dr Landry, Dr Kern and my special friend Jessie - thank you for all of your love and support.

To the Doctors and Jessie - thank you believing in me and giving me the courage and support to fight my Diabetes, and to be strong and brave enough to have my Cataract Surgery.

I cannot believe how beautiful the world is!

.
Meows every cat! Wow - my eyes seem to be becoming clearer - and I am beginning to see things. Mom and Dad are both noticing.

I am feeling MUCH better! Tonight I tried to fly out of my cage for dinner, and Mom had to grab me, feet going a mile a minute so I wouldn't jump up on the desk.

Things I have learned about this week:

I like Blonds - Mom is a blond (I never knew that!), Dr Jessie is a blond (that I knew last week), Dr Mosonic (my eye doctor in NY) is a blond. Dr Mosonic and Jessie actually look a lot alike. They are both really cool ladies and give me lots of snuggles. I love my Mom - but I loved her when she was fuzzy looking.

I have RATS!!!!!!!! Oh my Gosh! I thought there were two tiny kittens living in my room - but Nick and Sam are actually RATS!!!! Ok - they are pretty cool dudes actually - but who knew?

My Dad is pretty cool too. Boy is he tall! Now I understand why he calls me his Little Man!

I haven't been able to play with my siblings or puppys since I've been home.
I can't wait to see them all - especially my special big brother Amigo!

Dr Landry says I have to keep my collar on and be mellow until my eyes heal a little. Boy - just cause I was a sweet Angel at Cornell - he doesn't know the real Morgan! I want to jump and climb and play! Especially cause now I can really SEE things!

World Look Out!!!!!!! Morgan is beginning to see the World!

I hope you are ready for me!

And for my singing fans - a new song for you, I hope you enjoy.

Don't tell me not to fly
I've simply got to
If someone takes a spill
It's me and not you
Don't bring around the cloud to rain on my parade (cats hate rain)

Don't tell me not to jump

Just sit and relax

Life's stealing ferret food and the sun's a ball of catnip

Who told you you're allowed to rain on my parade (cats hate rain)

I'll march my band out, Ricky Martin on lead vocals
I'll beat my drum
And if I'm banned

Your turn at the mike, sir
At least I didn't fake it, rat, sir
I guess I didn't make it - hmm - is this American Idol Tryouts?

But whether I'm the rose of sheer perfection
A freckle on the nose of life's complexion
A Cinderella or a shine apple of an eye

I gotta fly once (unless Mom catches me)
I gotta try once
Only can die once, right, sir? ( Mom would kill me after eveything)
Ooh, life is Fancy Feast
Chicken and you see
I gotta have my bite, sir

Nobody's allowed to rain on my parade (cats hate rain)

Well I have been home for 3 days now, and I am starting to feel pretty good. I do a lot of lounging in my crate, but I also get to come out to eat, and wander around my room.

Mom spent most of the weekend hanging out with me, and just snuggling me and making me feel loved. She apologizes to all that Morgan's Beds are going to be on a slight back order - thanks to Morgan needing lots of TLC.

I love to give Mom a heart attack by jumping up the squirrel cage, she grabs me quick. Boy can that woman move!

I don't like my Eye Meds, but I guess they are helping me. Tonight I sat on Mom's lap and just stared into her eyes. I've never done that before and I melted her heart.

I have also been working on composing some new songs, which I will share with you soon.

Meows Everycat!

It is good to be home! Mom and I came home yesterday from Cornell, and arrived around 4:30 PM. Mom fed me chicken which I promptly gobbled up.

I have to get lots of medicines for the next few weeks. Antibiotics, eye drops and eye salve. I hate the eye meds. I close my eyes as tight as possible so they can't see them.

I am wearing an e-collar which I do not like, but it will prevent me from hurting my eyes. I am also confined to a big dog crate and allowed out only under supervision.

Yesterday I immediately checked out my turf, climbed the couch, across the end table, to the bookcase, across the computer desk and sat on the other book shelf looking outside. That was not bad.

But then I decided to jump down - luckily Mom caught me. A little later I jumped up and climbed the squirrel cage, again Mom caught me. She nearly had a heart attack.

Quiet is not in my nature! MOL!!!!!

I am back to eating good, which is making everyone happy. My sugar levels are high right now because I was not eating good, the stress of the surgery, and all the medicine. The Doctors told Mom it is ok, and I will get back to normal very soon.

Dr Landry called Mom last night to check on me since he was in surgery when she left. He was doing eye surgery on A COW! How cool is that? He and Mom talked about my medicines and what a cool cat I was. He said he wished all patients were as good as me. He said my cataracts were congenital, and still very rare. He is going to help Jessie write her Senior Paper on me. He told Mom to call anytime - even if she had the slightest concerns.

Dr Landry also told Mom that the Diabetes Team thought I was pretty cool. They could only figure out what caused it by doing some biopsys on me. They thought maybe some weird Island parasite could have caused it. Biopsys were not gonna happen - he was not gonna let anyone stress me out any more than I was. THANK YOU

It is sooo good to be home and in my own room. I feel safe inside the crate, and I am relaxed which for me is amazing! I am just lounging around, and watching Mom on her computer.

Thank you to everyone for the deafening healing purrs, and all my Rosettes and Stars. It is such a great feeling to have such wonderful friends.

Paws Up to You!

More later..........

Meows Everycat!

This morning Dr Jessie came to check on me (ok so she's not a Doctor yet, but she will be next year!) and they did my morning medicines. I don't like them, they taste yucky. She did my eye drops and I'm getting squirmy with them.

Everyone knows that means I am feeling better!

Well they checked the pressure in my eyes, and my right eye was good, my left eye was too high. Uh Oh......... Dr Jessie called Dr Landry right away (he's really my Doctor), Jessie is my special friend , and he gave her special magic drops to put in my eyes. He said if the Magic Drops didn't work, they were going to have to put me to sleep again and use that Giant Microscope and scary tools on me. I wasn't supposed to hear that, but I did.

A little while later they checked my eye and the pressure was down. WHEW! Getting nervous there for a minute. BUT being me - I am never easy.

The pressure went up in my left eye! Again Jessie had to call Dr Landry who said use the Magic Drops in that eye too.

Then the Power of Purr Chain kicked in full force! The noise in my cage was deafening! I even had to request a pair of ear muffs! Everyone was trying to figure out what the heck was happening - I just meowed and said it's my Catster friends sending me the Power of Purr. It's amazing!!

They came back and checked my eye pressure again - and it worked! My eyes were BOTH NORMAL!!!!!!!!!

Dr Landry said Mom could come visit me this afternoon. So Jessie called Mom and she went flying up to the hospital! She really missed me a lot!

Now remember - Mom has always been really fuzzy looking to me. I got to see what my Mom really looks like for the first time! And let me tell you - she is really funny looking! But I have to admit, she gives the best belly rubs on the planet. She loves me a lot. I had fun wandering around the room, and trying to get through things with this big old collar on my head. Mom took pictures and they'll be up this weekend.

This evening Jessie called Mom and said I may be able to come home tommorow morning! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY She will be in early and give me my eye drops and yucky tasting meds. Then Dr Landry will come and see me and he will make the final decision.

I also have a new knickname here at Cornell. I am called Zorro the Pirate. They shaved around my eyes and I now have a really cool Bandito Mask.

So in honor of that - I have composed a new song, that I will dedicate to my friend Jessie:

Out of thee night comes a kitty with sight.....the Pirate they now call Zorro...

He's a man with a goal, to steal every heart and soul (at Cornell) ..the Pirate they now call Zorro....

And please also check this very special Thank You to Cornell:

http://www.catster.com/forums/Get_Well_Soon/thread/375975

I am really tired, and I think I need to go to sleep.

Good Night Everyone, and thank you all for being here for me!

Well this morning I was feeling much much better. I slept great in my Pirate Bed, and I finally decided to eat my Fancy Feast.

Dr Jessie came in to visit me, and she gave me lots of hugs and pets. I like her a lot! Some other Doctors also came to meet me, and everyone kept saying - "Oh Morgan, you are so cute! Oh Morgan, what a good boy you are!"

Then Dr Landry came to see me and said "Ok Morgan, let's go, you're finally going to see the world!" He and Dr Jessie carried me into a big white room.

There was a GIANT Microscope in there - jeez what are they gonna use that for?

More Doctors came in to meet me, including Dr Kern - he's the Top Cat at Cornell Opthamology Dept. They put a mask on my little face - I didn't like it until I realised - hey - this smells like some major good catnip!

Next thing I know, I wake up in my pirate bed with this funny plastic thing on my neck. I am not happy. But then Dr Jessie brought me some Fancy Feast. YUM - I was starving! Dr Landry came to see me, and he told me my eyes were better than new. As they heal I will be able to see perfectly! YAYYYY

I snuck out of my cage again, and I found the Staff's stash of Baccardi.

When Dr Jessie came back in to check on me, I was laid back in my bed just singing away "Livin La Vida Loco, I miss my rattys oh so........" I'm high tonight, my hips don't work, but I'm happy now........".

Well I think the Baccardi is getting to me - I'm gonna take a nap!

Hi Everycat! Thank you sooooooooooo much for all those special purrs!

I am here in Ithaca at Cornell Companion Animal Hospital.

It took us over 4 hours to get here, and it snowed 75% of the way. For a few miles it was snowing where ya almost couldn't see the road. It's freezing cold up here, and snowy rain.

I am under the very special care of 4th year Medical Student named Jessie. I really like her a lot! She did all kinds of tests on my eyes today, including one that gave me green eyes! I looked kind of cool for a while! She talks really soft to me, and she gives me lots of pets. Jessie wants to work in a Kitty Only Hospital, and she lives in NJ. Mom told her to learn lots about Diabetes too, cause they need special Docs in NJ.

They gave me some knock out drops, and did a sonogram and some kind of electric test on my corneas. They also took lots of my blood.

My sugar was high today, but that's cause my whole schedule went kablooey with coming here. But all my other tests came back GREAT!!!!!!

Did you know that Kitty Cataracts are kinda rare? They think I may be the only kitty they do all year! So I'm a big celebrity up here. Everyone is coming to meet me, including the Diabetes Team cause I'm such a rare little guy!

I'm in a big cage in my Pirate Bed with my Think Pawsitive Pup, and my Coqui. Mom told them I go nowhere without them! They also put me in the Medium Care Unit - which means they have 24 hour staff so they can keep a close eye on me, and I can get my snacks. (Although they didn't see me sneak out to use the laptop - MOL!!!!)

Tommorow around 11:00 AM Eastern, I will have my surgery. The operation will be done by Matthew Landry DVM, Resident, Opthamology and Thomas J Kern, DVM,DACVO, associate Professor of Opthamology

Jessie also wants to write a Case Study on me! That would be sooooooooo cool! Think of how many kittys that could help?

Well, I am very tired from this exciting day. More updates tommorow.

Three more nights and we get on the road to Cornell! We are sooo excited! Mom picked up all my records today from Dr Nero.

She had lots of smiles reading through the last year of my life. Mom didn't realise it til she read them - but the stupid lady vet - who yelled at Mom - listed me as A GIRL on some of my papers! What a dope! Thank heavens Mom got me away from her and took me to Dr Nero, my hero. That woman would have tried to SPAY me! MOL!!!!

My bag is all packed, I have lots of cool new Pirate Stuff including a new bed, a blankie and another bed in my new Pirate Carrier. I have on my Pirate Collar and name tag - and I will be the classiest patient in the hospital.

I am hoping the skull and crossbones lights up on my carrier when someone is doing Midnight rounds!

Mom still has to pack her stuff, and her computer so she can work up there, and keep everyone updated on how I am doing.

We can't believe that we are actually going! I really am on my way to see the WORLD!!!!!!

My cousins arrived last night from San Juan, on American Airlines at 10:40 PM into Hartford. Mom and Dad were there to meet them.

Anita and her husband had lived in an apartment in San Juan. 3 weeks after the kids were born, the owner moved out, and left them to fend for themselves. Sadly Dad was very mean and attacked people - he went to the Rainbow Bridge.

My cousin Anita - the Mommy cat is a very very pretty gray tabby with huge huge green eyes. The Baggage Handler brought her out, and she came right up and purred and head rubbed. He told Mom she was sweet.

Then he brought out the little ones. Maria is a siamesal mix with big blue eyes, Toni is a gorgeous brown tortie, and then there is Chino. Chino is black and looks a LOT like me! He's a true boy from the hood - and escaped the crate this morning. He will be my protege.

They all got back home after midnight and Mom put them to bed with lots of kisses, a big dish of fancy feast, and the promise that their new lives would begin the minute they disembarked the plane.

Today Mom took them all to the Cat Clinic to meet their new Mom - my Aunt Marylou, and of course - Dr Nero, My Hero. Anita was a perfect lady - a true example of her latino hertitage.

Now the kids on the other hand - ran around the clinic, jumping, climbing, and doing anything possible to not go back in their crates or getting an exam. Everyone had a lot of fun laughing at their antics - and Aunt Marylou is already in love with them.

The Doc wanted to know if we had the same Dad - they sure look like my cousins! And Chino's under belly is sure looking brown. Should be very interesting!

The family is now all home together in their new furever home. They will have a wonderful and happy spoiled life - and never have to worry about anyone ever mistreating them again.

We can't wait to talk to Aunt Marylou later and see how they are doing.

Happy New Year to all of my Catster Friends!

2006 was a great year for me. I arrived in CT in ...

Happy New Year to all of my Catster Friends!

2006 was a great year for me. I arrived in CT in February, and was diagnosed with rare juvenile diabetes, and bilateral cataracts. Many who met me said it was a death sentence. I was complicated, I was rare (of course I am - I am a Pirate Gato!), and many suggested I should be put to sleep. No Way!

But I was lucky. I changed foster homes, and although I gave my new foster parents a few sleepless nights, they loved me very much. They found a very special Doctor - Dr Nero, my Hero who believed in me. He also loves me very much, and he has done everything he could to regulate my diabetes, and to get me to digest my food and get the valuable nutrients my tiny body needed.

As the months went by, I got stronger and stronger. I became a very happy kitten, and I grew very fluffy, until I turned into a tiny brown grizzly bear kitten. My kitty and doggy siblings loved me, and made me feel very special.

I celebrated my first birthday in September with a huge party at the Cat Clinic. My foster Mom Leilani even flew over from San Juan to join the festivities. I wasn't allowed any cake, but I did get liverwurst.

My foster Mom and the Doc decided it was time to look into getting my eyes fixed. They made many many phone calls, and no Doctor would help. Mom finally called Cornell Veterinery College, and got a special resident named Dr Riise. He knew Dr Mosonic, my eye doctor, and wanted to help me. He did what he could to get Cornell to give me a special rescue discount, and the wheels started to turn.

Mom created Morgan's Beds. The beginning of my surgery fund. Many of you Catster friends have them. We thank you so much, and hope you really like them.

Then the Danbury News Times did a story on me. I got an entire page! Can you believe it? Little tiny ME!!!!!!!! Many many people sent checks and beautiful get well wishes. Many came from Senior Citizens on fixed incomes, with donations of cash. Those were very very special. Each person got a receipt, plus a personal thank you note, and a picture of me. Many also ordered Morgan's Beds. Mom has been sewing up a storm!

We made many new friends, and a Moma Kitty and her 3 babies will be arriving tommorow to their furever home because of me. Save A Sato and DAWS got a lot of great new publicity, and we hope many more kittys and puppys will be adopted because of my story.

I get my blood sugars tested again tommorow night, and if all is well, on January 16th, Mom and I will travel the long trip to Cornell University for my pre-op. If everything is good, I will have my eye surgery on January 17th. Please send special Purrs for me, I know they work!

I will have to spend a few days at the hospital, and Mom was very happy when her company said it was ok for her to work remote that week at Cornell.

2007 seems like it will be my best year ever - and I want thank you all for your support and friendships since I arrived.

I'm so looking forward to seeing the world through clear eyes!

My surgery is gonna happen! I'm on my way to see the World!!!!!!

The Danbury News Times did a very special story on me, and my fight for survival. And thanks to so many wonderful and amazing people sending donations and beautiful notes - Morgan's Fund has almost enough money for Mom to confirm my cataract surgery!

Morgan's Beds have been doing really well, every kitty or puppy who has gotten one loves it. Of course I am in charge of quality control - so that's no question! MOL!!!!! Morgan's Beds will cover any more money needed for my stay at the hospital.

Mom will take me to Cornell Univeristy Veterinery College on 01/16/07 and I will have my pre-op tests. They promised to take really really good care of me! And they even want me to meet the top teaching diabetes Doctor, so I can share my special story with him.

I have to have an ultrasound on my eyes, and some kind of electode testing. If all that goes well - PLEASE SEND TONS OF PURRS THAT IT WILL!!, then my eye surgery will be the next morning. They will even give me new replacement lenses! How cool is that?

My surgery will be done by two Residents, and the top Teaching Doctor for eyes at Cornell.

Today Mom printed out directions to Cornell - it's gonna take her over 4 hours to get there, and she made a hotel reservation so she can stay near me.

I am soooooooooooo happy!!!!!!!

WOW! I have become really famous in Connecticut! Every day I get lots and lots of cards and letters wishing me well with my eye surgery.

Mom is really busy writing thank you cards. When she's not writing, she's making Morgan's Beds - which she's gotten lots and lots of orders for. Of course I have to put my paw of approval on each and every one before she can send them out.

Looks like my surgery is gonna happen! I will have to stay at Cornell for a few days until my eyes heal, and Mom figures she will spend the time making snow creatures all over the campus. MOL!

2. Have your dogs bark and squeak and give you a headache and hide in the closet
3. When your Mom brings someone in to meet you - totally freak out, jump up the walls, scream and yell like they are killing you.
4. Hide under the couch and in the closet when your human is trying to find you.
5. Even though you are always hungry, do not even look at the food.

Well I have lots to be thankful for lately. The crazy woman has been whipping out cat and dog beds, and tons of hammocks. The cat beds are doing great selling at the Cat Clinic - and I have a balance on my account.

Last week Mom took more beds, and went to get me syrings. The Doc would not let her pay for them, he said a kitty went to heaven and the owner returned them. Said to give them to a special patient. He said that's me.

Today I went for my check up, and I gained a whole 3/4 of a pound! So I'm now 7 3/4 pounds. My eyes are staying the same, and my blood sugar was at 174. Doc says I'm doing great! Woo Hoo!!!!!

To celebrate Thanksgiving, a special patient gave the hospital a check to use for the patient of their choice. Doc told Mom about it today, and said that patient was me!

I want to give my Doc special thanks for everything he has done for me. He has been my best friend since I arrived. He saved my life, held my paw, and listened to my troubles when I was sad. He's been through all the worst of times with me, and he's been through the best. He knows how much my Mom has been working hard to get my eyes fixed, and he's been the most amazing and wonderful support anyone could ask for.

So today I just want to say - Thank You Doc for being you!

Hello Fellow Catsters! It's been a while since I have updated my diary.

Aunt Leilani came and we celebrated my first birthday with a huge party at the Cat Clinic. We had a great time, but I was not allowed even a crumb of my cake. While she was here, she and Mom rescued another kitty who was at Death's Door, and they and Dr Nero named him Mucho Problemo.

Mucho was later named to Muchos Gracias, because he was a huge talker (like me), and he loved to get hugs and kisses (like me too!). Mom and Aunt Leilani were happy to have found him.

Sadly Mucho started to lose a ton of weight last week, and Saturday he went to the Rainbow Bridge. He is now my special guardian Angel in heaven. He promised Mom he would be.

My sugar levels are staying consistent, and I am doing great. My coat is now super fluffy, and multi shades of brown. I am really soft and shiny.

I have been doing so well, that Mom has now contacted Cornell University to start getting my Cataract Surgery scheduled. My Eye Doctor is gonna meet with them in Texas next week, and go over my records. Then they will schedule a consultation, and I will have to travel up to Ithaca to see them.

It's still gonna be really expensive, so Mom has started making Cat & Dog beds (Aunt Leilani taught her) and other creatures things to make money to pay the bill. There are allllllll kinds of fabrics around this place! Jeez!!!!! All the pirate stuff is MINE MINE MINE!!!!!!! I sometimes help her - but she doesn't always seem to appreciate it? It's always - Oh Morgan what are you into now?

The local newspaper may also be doing a story on me - cool huh?

I'm still a permanent foster kitty from Save a Sato, and my picture has even been updated on their website. You can read more about me there at:

www.saveasato.org

Mom says if I get the surgery, I will really be able to see things. Right now it's like I have vaseline on my eyes. They said they would even put replacement lenses in - how cool is that? I'll have better eyes than Mom! Silly lady wears glasses to read. Maybe I can read to her then - or maybe they can fix her eyes too?

Hope you are all doing well!

We gonna have a HUGE Birthday party at the Cat Clinic that day - and Mom says if the Doc says it's ok - I can even have some of my birthday cake!

Mom still remembers when I arrived skinny and with a distended belly. When I got diagnosed as a rare diabetic kitten everyone panicked.

Everyone said my prognosis was "iffy". Or some just came right out and said I was gonna croak! Several people told her to just put me to sleep - wierd cause I wasn't tired?

But Mom, Dad, Aunt Leilani and Dr Nero all believed in me. They said I deserved every possible chance to live a long and healthy life. They gave me shots, special foods, and special supplements.

I'm always a good boy for my blood tests, and I always get tons of hugs and kisses from everyone. That's really the best medicine of all!

And now I am strong and very healthy and counting the days to seeing my Aunt Leilani!

Uh - Oh I heard Mom on the phone today. She called Aunt Leilani and told her she was sending me home tonight. She said she can't keep me any more cause I'm a DEVIL.

Innocent me - can you imagine?

Let me tell you about my day.

This morning I cleaned the coffee table, and decorated the floor. (I knocked everything off, and tore up the tissues)

Then I tried to help Mom, and I brought her 5 napkins from the rack in the kitchen.

Then I cleaned Dad's plate from his hot dogs, and decorated the floor again with his napkin.

Then I climbed onto the microwave and brought the dogs a bag of pupperoni.

A little while later I brought the dogs a bag of chicken snacks, they weren't hungry so I tried to take it downstairs to the ferrets.

I brought Dad a bag of dog cookies.

I tried to knock Mom's digital camera on the floor.

I tried to give the chicken snacks away again to my brothers and sisters.

Mom cleaned the litter boxes, I helped by pushing yesterdays news all over the floor of the Piggy Room.

I climbed into the ferret cage when she was changing their newspapers, I got ferret poops on my paws.

I brought Mom the chicken snacks again. She finally gave up and put them in tupperware. Not to worry Mom - I will bring you that too.

I tried to steal a cookie from Amber - boy was she a grouch!

I stole a fruit loop from my ratties.

I brought Mom the pupparonis again.

Right now I am banned to the computer room, waiting for my dinner and my shot. Mom put up a new picture of me today - she says it's the real me.

I don't see any kennel carriers around - so maybe she's just tryin to scare me? She wouldn't send me back to Puerto Rico would she? Her life would be so boring without me to liven it up.

Ok so I haven't written in a while - I've been really busy!!!!!!!

I now weigh 6 1/2 pounds and guess what - I'm staying that size! I've been getting my blood taken every two weeks - and I was starting to level off. My body has been getting stronger every day - it's all that bad ferret food I sneak.

Anyway - today I went to see the Doc and get my blood. I gave it right up - and the Doc showed Mom the glucose meter with a HUGGGGGGEEEEEEE smile on his face!

Since my sugar is staying stable - I don't have to go back until SEPTEMBER!!!!!

He is sooooooooo proud of me! He told me not to forget him! MOL!!!!

So my next visit is gonna be a HUGE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION when I turn ONE YEAR OLD!!!!!!

So I've been dancing around the house all day singing YoHo Yo Ho A Pirate Cat is Me!!!!!!!

Thank you to all my Catster and Dogster friends for all of your support these last couple of months! It really really helped me to think Pawsative!

I am doing the happy kitten dance right now!!!!!!!!! MEOW HOOOOOOOOOO!

I just went to the Doc to get my sugar levels checked - and he ELIMINATED my nightly insulin shot!!!!!!! I gained another 1/2 pound, and my sugar levels are really leveling off! He thinks my body has now decided to become strong, and little by little I've been turning into a normal 9 month old kitten!

Everyone was sooooooooo happy and I got tons and tons of kisses! They are all calling me a miracle!

When we got home Mom had some yogurt for lunch, and she even let me lick out the container to celebrate!

I've still been Morgan though. Mom cleaned the ferret cage the other day. She took Bambi and Kiwi upstairs to play in the computer room. When she came back down, there I was on the 3rd level checking out their toys. Luckily I hadn't made it to the top, so I didn't get into their food dish. I love ferret food, it's delicious! I will open any bag I can get my paws on. It now gets locked in a cabinet. Bummer!

Mom rescued a new guinea pig named Annie. I think she's cute, and I washed her face. I tried to climb in the cage with her and eat her pellets, but I got caught at the last minute.

Life is good for this little Pirate!

Well today was a lot of cage cleaning and laundry day for Mom. So I put on the TV and watched the Puerto Rico day parade. Each city sent a float.

WOWWWWWWWWWWW! I've never seen so many Puerto Rican flags, even in Puerto Rico! It was kind of cool to watch it, and I wondered how many of those people had Satos and Gatos.

Every year, they honor a state during the parade, and this year it was - are you ready??????????? CONNECTICUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPPEEE for MEEEEEEEE!!

Mom is gonna talk to Aunt Edi and Leilani, next year is the 50th Anniversary of the parade - and she thinks it would be cool if Save A Sato walked in it. It's wayyyyyyyyyy too noisy for any Satos to walk in - even my sister Gypsy who is the Sato spokespup.

Then Mom was in the kitchen and there was a dog in the yard! We have a super strict leash law here, and no dogs are loose. Mom went out with a leash, and the puppy ran away. Mom called the police, and Animal Control is off today. The policeman was really nice, and told Mom if she saw her again, they would send someone over, or if she caught her, they would come get her.

Mom couldn't find her again, but about a half hour later she came back. As soon as Mom went out with the leash, she ran away. She came back again, so Mom tried the other Animal Control. She knows he has a doggy trap. But he had left too. Last Mom saw her she was walking down on the side of the road, and we live on a really busy street.

We hope she comes back later. Mom put food out for her. She has on a purple collar, but no name tag. If she comes back, tommorow Mom will borrow the doggy trap.

Everyone, please pray that she will be ok, and that she doesn't get hit by a stupid car.

Well, I have been feeling a lot better lately. I'm now up to 5 3/4 pounds which is great considering I was only 2 pounds when I arrived. My fur is glossy, and the Doc is amazed at how well I am doing.

I was being bad, Max and I got in a small cat turf war. And so to pay him back, I started marking my turf. Because of that, I had to go get another urine test to make sure I didn't have any bad crystals. That was fun, I got to spend the night at the Cat Clinic, see my best friend Dr Nero, and kiss all the girls. I played with my kitty friends and it was great. I love it there!

Mom picked me up last night, and the Doc said I am doing great. My insulin levels are finally staying in the good range, plus I had gained another 1/4 pound.

So today Mom went to work in a great mood. She knew I was making nothing but improvements. She called Dad about 10:30 AM to see how we all were, and I was busy playing with my mousie and fuzzy ball. Great, Mom was happy, Dad was relaxed.

Then Dad decided to go cut the grass. It took a long time, cause we have a big lawn, but he came in at 1:00 PM to feed me my lunch. But he couldn't find me! He kept calling me, and I always come when you pop a can of cat food. He put my food in the computer room, No Morgan. He looked everywhere, in all the rooms, in all the closets, in all the bathrooms, downstairs, in the laundry room, and even in the garage. No me.

After 30 minutes he called Mom. I don't want to worry you, but I can't find Morgan anywhere. After 4 phone calls back and forth, Mom said she was coming home for lunch.

Mom came home, looked under the couches, in the piggy room closet, and then she called me. Morgan, Morgan...... Dad was in the hallway, he looked down and saw my shadow under the door. He called Mom right away, and she opened the door, picked me up laughing and showed me with kisses.

I was in the computer room, sound asleep the whole time under the couch. I woke up when I heard Mom, and ate my lunch.

My poor Dad, I am gonna make him crazy yet!

It's been a long and busy week for me and I am exhausted!

I woke up Tuesday afternoon, from a very deep sleep, and as usual started to take a bath. When I got to the back, my testicles were gone! I immediately called 911, and asked the Danbury Police to please find the thief! I was truly stunned and upset! How could this happen?

The Officer gently explained "Young Man, please calm down, you have been neutered. This is done to young gentleman cats to prevent them from fighting, and creating unwanted kittens. If you go to the Animal Shelter, you will see many many cats who have no homes. They live in cages, and do not have families to love them".

I went back to my cage and thought about it. Ok - I guess I can live with that. After all - I know about the feral cats that Mom feeds, and I know how life was in Puerto Rico. I felt better. Plus, now I can have a girlfriend!

I came home Wednesday, and I was happy to be home. My sisters and brothers all gave me kisses and told me how much they missed me.

Then yesterday, Mom packed me back into my sherpa bag, and took me for another ride in the car. I like the car, I just relax and look out the windows.

When she stopped the car, the place looked familiar. Oh NO!!!!!! Another Vet Visit! This is the EYE DOCTOR! Everyone there wanted to see me, they all remember the scrawny 2 pound bag of bones I was.

As is usual, I got lots of hugs and kisses from the Ladies, and tons of Oh Morgan, you are GORGEOUS! The Doc put drops in my eyes and checked my cataracts. She says they are no worse, YAY!!!!! But she says Mom has to do my eye drops every day again. She says hopefully she can find someone to help us with my cataract surgery, maybe in the fall. I'll need a liver sonogram first, to make sure I can wake up - huh? And she is seeing if they can find a resident Veterinarian to help do the surgery at a lower cost.

Man I could have used sunglasses on the way home! I felt like Gizmo! Bright Lights!! Bright Lights!! Mom pulled the car shade down, and put a towel to hide the sun.

When we got home I got a big plate of chicken! YAYYYYYYYY

What a week! I am pooped!

Well here I am again, back in the Cat Clinic. I got nervous when Mom started packing my bag this afternoon - Hmmmmm......

Anyway, I got my blood tested, and it was good, but the Doc is upping my morning insulin. I weigh a WOPPING 5 1/2 Pounds! Mom, the Doc, and everyone was so excited! Remember - I weighed 2 1/3 pounds when I got here in January! They can't believe how big I am gettinf, and how good I am doing.

Mom and the Doc were talking, and it seems they said something about me getting neutered tommorow, and I'm getting a microchip, too.

I got lot of kisses, and Lisa gave me the huge double cage up top with the view, so I can supervise everyone tommorow. I have my Coqui of course, he's my bestest friend, plus my mousies, and my Captain Morgan blankie.

So whatever neuter and microchip is - I'll find out tommorow. I just hope it will be fun!

Well it's raining today, and I am bored. Mom is home, and I was hoping we could go play outside with the dogs in the yard. She says not gonna happen ..sigh......

So - I decided to pratice my boxing/wrestling with Amigo. After 20 minutes, I got bored with that. ..........sigh..........

I tried to help her vaccum the rug, she told me to scat, or Mr Dyson would suck me into the the canister. .....sigh........

I chased Amber's tail, and she told me to get lost. .........sigh.........

I sent a few emails to my friends, gave out a few rosettes. I am still bored.

I think I'm gonna go in the garage and start building me a new pirate ship. I can sail around CT and steal from the rich and give to the poor. Who would ever suspect this innocent little face of being a thief?

Well as you all know I am from Puerto Rico, what you may not know is that there are some pretty famous athletes from my Island.

As you also know, I am the Latin Lover, but behind this innocent face, is a true athlete. I run every day, mountain climb, and bungee jump. I am also slowly but surely becoming a professional boxer/wrestler.

This morning I went 9 rounds with my big brother Amigo. I actually was able to pin him several times! YAY!!!!!!!

Now to really appreciate how well I am doing, you need to know that I weigh 4 pounds, and he weighs 17. So he's actually in the heavyweight class, and I am in the lightweights.

I'm seriously considering training for the next Olympics. Do they allow diabetics to enter? Hmmmm - could I fail the drug tests with my Acedopholis, Insulin and ProZyme?

Happy Easter everyone! The Easter Bunny bought us lots of new catnip toys this morning.

Mom & Dad met Grandma & Grandpa for lunch today, and they left us all home. Before they left they gave me my chicken snacks, and they gave me a little extra because they knew my lunch would be a little late.

After they left, I played with Gypsy & Amber for a while. I took a nap on my favorite chair in the family room, woke up and played with Amigo and Apache.

Then I decided to do a Home Inspection again - looking for some snacks. Nothing in the kitchen except dog treats in jars - YUCK! Nothing in the living room, I pulled all the tupperware treats out from under the squirrels, nothing to eat. I tried getting into the Ferret Food dish - but Mom had moved it so my paws can't reach it. Bummer!

I decided to use the big litter box in the Piggy Room closet, instead of my own - and hmmm - I could smell something good in that closet! YIPPEEE!!!!
I found a brand new bag of Totally Ferret! I knocked it off the shelf, and used my bionic teeth to chew it wide open. I had some nice tasty snacks, and then took another nap.

Mom and Dad came home, and I told them I was a perfect Angel while they were gone. A few hours later, Mom went into the closet to get the big box of hay to give to the squirrels and prairie dogs - and uh - oh!!!!!! She found the evidence!!!!!!!!

She yelled out MORGANNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!! What did you do?????? I of course denied any knowledge of it, and dared her to find my paw prints on the bag!

She has threatened to put me in the Dungeon for a month, or worse yet - deport me back to San Juan!!!!!!!

Should I be scared?

Well, sorry I haven't updated you all in a few days. Mom had the computer tied up doing something called bills? She says a lot of them are mine? Jeez - just cause I keep using her Master Card!

Anyway - things are great here. Yesterday it was awesome, sunshine, and warm. We got to spend the day out on the sun porch, and Fuzzy and Jessie visited with us. I like it there! I got to visit the prairie dogs in the bedroom, and then just lounge in the sun.

Today Mom worked home, so I worked my Latin Lover Routine to the Max! First I climbed on top of the ferret cage and kept playing with their fuzzy ball. I kept trying to get it out of the cage, so Mom finally said - "OK Morgan you can have it". Once she put it on the floor, I got bored with it.

I lounged on the couch to keep her company, and a few times I jumped on her lap, cuddled and purred. She decided she needed a break so she went outside on the deck with Gypsy & Amber. I sat at the screen door looking oh so sad! It worked! Mom came back in, put a harness on me and a leash, and I got to hang out on the deck! Then Mom took me down on the grass to play, but Gypsy & Amber kept kissing me - so I couldn't move! She took me out front to wait while Daddy got the mail, and I got to play in the garden.

When we came back in, I was so tired, I took a nap mostly on top of Gypsy and partly on Mom. Who says dogs are bad? Gypsy is nice and comfy to sleep on, and she loves to give me kisses.

Mom has been sewin again - she's nuts! She made me those sheets and blankets for my bed. Today she's makin all new stuff for the ferrets.

I like to help her sew. I sit on the fabric when she's trying to measure. Someone has to hold it in place right?

I love being me!

Well, I ...

Hi everyone! And thank you Catster for making me the Diary of the Day! I was thrilled!

Well, I got home from the hospital yesterday. I was not happy this time cause I had to stay in a cage. They needed a pee sample from me, and everytime I went, before they could get it - I pooped in it. Uh - oh?

Anyway - I finally decided to cooperate yesterday, and give them a sample so I could GO HOME. My test was good - YAYYYYYYYYYYY - no crystals in it. My sugar levels went way up again though, so the Doc upped my insulin again. YUCK.

The Doc thinks I am "marking" my territory - because I have become a manly man. And do I think this is a problem? No - after all - there are 3 other boy cats here. So I am trying to tell them that everything here now belongs to me.
After all - I am a Pirate, and I need my booty. Mommy is not happy about it - but she can't resist me anyway.

I have to go back in 2 weeks and get my levels checked again. The Doc is gonna do a CBC on me, and if I am ok - next day he's gonna do something called a Snip? I have no idea what that means - but I am sure it's something good.

To celebrate coming home last night, I broke into the closet where Mom had hidden the Ferret Treats, and I smeared FerretVite all over the floor(it's a really thick, sticky, smushy treat in a tube). Luckily I didn't get any one my fur, so she didn't notice right away.

She wasn't happy again - but all she said was - "Oh Morgan, why are you so bad?" Then I got hugs and kisses.

Ah the life of a Pirate Gato................

Well here I am back at the Cat Clinic, spending another weekend with my friends.

My sugar levels are pretty good right now. But, for some reason I decided it would be fun to pee on a footstool, a cat basket, and this morning the cat condo. Needless to say, Mom was none too happy?

Last night I opened a tupperware and ate a whole bag of Ferret Chicken Treats. They were delicious! Again, Mom was none too happy? They are really bad for me.

But all she does is say "Morgan - What are we gonna do with you?"

I was supposed to just spend the morning at the Clinic, so they could check my sugar, and get a urine sample. But when I saw my friends again, I decided I would just hold it in, and I would have to stay there, and hang out with them for a few days.

So of course Mom had to come back to the Clinic and bring all my stuff, my Insulin, Meds, Fancy Feast, and I can't sleep without my Captain Morgan Blanket and my Coqui. She wouldn't leave until we had cuddle time, so I got lots of hugs and kisses before she went back home.

I KNOW SHE MISSES ME!!!!!!!!! It makes Mom nuts when she can't check up on me!

Thank you Catster for pickin my diary! Mom is soooooooooooo proud of me! Of course my sister's and brothers are jealous - but hey - they gotta learn to write more!

Today's adventure was making my Dad nuts. I decided I was gonna be a cat, and take Cat Naps. So I would nap downstairs for 20 minutes, run around and play, nap on the stairs for 20 minutes, play some more, then nap on the couch. Dad got worried cause he said I was wayyyyyyyyyyy too quiet.

So then Mom came home from work, and I of course was my adorable self, and I started to play in the kitchen. Then I got my dinner and my shot.

Poor Mom is at the computer paying her bills, and I decided to jump in the drawers and check out her files.

She picked me up and kissed me, and just at that time, I let out a silent but deadly puff. She let out a MORGAN!!!! and Dad thought I had croaked! He almost came running until he heard her telling me I was a piglet and laughing like heck!

OOPS? It really was an accident?

Well today I got to sit on a new window. It's spring in CT, and today Dad opened all the windows for us. We have a huge front window, and you can sit on either side and enjoy a nice warm breeze. I had a blast!

Then Mom came home, she of course made the mistake of reading Yesterdays News this morning. Inside was a Sale Flyer with the coolest cat couches in it.

Mom being Mom procrastinated all day. Do we need more beds or not?

After all I just got a new bed last weekend didn't I? A new one the week before too.

HAHAHAHA the Guilt set in - she just HAD to stop on her way home from work! and guess what??? She bought two!!!!!!!!!! One for in the family room so we can be comfy looking out the door, and a new one for my room - which is her computer room! So we now have two way cool red velvet kitty couches!

Can you say spoiled? YeeHah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was a fun day. It's spring in CT, and all the windows were open. I got to sit on the open window and take a sun bath!

I am beginning to work on my summer tan. I have to keep up the handsome Island Boy look, so the women will still fall in love with me.

I went for my latest sugar test, and I am making progress - YAY!!!!! I hate the needle, but I LOVE the Ladies getting all excited - "Morgan is here!!!!!!!!" They all pass me around, and load me up with hugs and kisses.

Plus I got to see the Doc, who is my hero, and my buddy! He says I am doing great - and he couldn't believe my teeth! I've got canines! Plus I grew little puff balls in the back. He was impressed by how good I am doing, and he is very proud that I am becoming a manly man.

I saw my kitty friends, and I brought them some new mousies and crunchies.

Mom asked him something about neutering - what is that? The Doc says I have to get stronger first. Good - cause whatever it is - I AM NOT INTERESTED.

Better go, I am starving! And I hear the kitchen cabinet opening, and I am ready for dinner!!!!!!!!!!

This bein sick is way too cool here in the USA! On my Island they would just ignore me, unless I was in a very special home.

Mom came home tonight with two new beds JUST for ME!!!!!!!!!!! One is a wicker basket with a pillow, the other is way too cool! It's actually a bed! It's a wood box with a mattress, and a headboard and baseboard. Amigo can fit on it with me! She also got me two new special dishes. One has a face like my brother, and the other looks like Amigo!

I'm gaining some weight and Mom says when I go to the Doctor for my check up Tuesday, she's gonna ask about neutering me. I have no idea what that means - but so far so good? I hope they lower my insulin again - that would be cool. I still get two shots a day, but Dad is quick with em so I don't mind.

Hope you guys all have a great weekend!

Well I think I am related to the ferrets, not the guinea pigs. My new fun habit is to try and rip open their treat bags. Mom got smart and put everything in tupperware. Bummer!

hehehe - but I got her good! She gave me dinner and locked me in the computer room, so my critter family could eat. 10 minutes later, she came to let me out, and there I was with my face into a brand new bag of Totally Ferret Chicken. I had ripped it open.

Mom told me I'm a bad boy, and gave me kisses. She keeps telling me this stuff is gonna make me sick. But I am sick - so how can I get sick? sigh....

All the girls came out and took turns hugging and kissing me, and telling me how handsome I was. They said they all miss me! They took my blood, and my sugar was at 98! Dr Nero said Mommy could change my insulin dose to a lower one, and I have to come back and kiss the girls on Tuesday night.

They told Mommy that I am going through a growth spurt, and I already grew in a week! I'm actually getting longer, and I weigh 4 pounds!

Mommy went to PetSmart today, and bought me TONS of Fancy Feast, a bunch of new toys, a new collar, and she bought us two new litter boxes.

Well, I'm back home again. Dr Nero said I had a really good week, and that I could go home. The doggies were so happy to see me! Gypsy did her Moon Dog Howls, and it was really funny. She and Amber gave me lots of kisses.

Jesse gave me sniffs, Max is hissin at me again, and Apache and Amigo are ignoring me. I hope they like me soon? I would really like to be their friend.

My Dad and Mom tried somethin' new tonight. Dad gave me my insulin shot while I was eatin dinner. See I eat so fast and make so much noise, I didn't even notice my shot!

I cuddled on Mom's lap when she was on the puter before. I'm purrin and talkin a lot today.

She was really really scared about bringing me back home after I did the "scared stiff" routine on Monday. But Dr Nero (my hero!) told her I was actually in better shape than he first thought when he saw me. My blood work was a happy surprise. He thinks I've made a lot of progress, and although I'll always have diabetes, he thinks I could have a good kitten life.

I hope all you homeless kitties have as much happy luck as I have. I flew all the way from Puerto Rico to find special people who really really love me. I even got another check today to help pay my Doctor bills.

I am truly a lucky little Gato.

Well Mom came to see me last night, and I ignored her. I was too busy wandering all over the hospital and playing with my friends. I refused to play with her, and every time she picked me up I wiggled so much she put me down. hahaha - don't disturb my play time!

Anyway, Mom and Dr Buck (Dr Nero, my hero, was off yesterday) were talking about me, and all my problems. My sugar is way up in the 500s again, even though they upped my Insulin again.

They started looking through some Veterinary Cases in special Doctor Magazines, and they found a case about another kitten like me! He was born in 2001 in Norway. He was a long hair brown mix kitty - sound familiar? He developed white on his eyes, which then cleared, and he got bilateral cataracts! On top of that he also had diabetes mellitus - just like me! They had a real bad time with getting his insulin fixed, and he went to the Rainbow Bridge.

Mom called the hospital in NC that did the study, and they are gonna see if anyone knows about it. She also e-mailed the Veterinary School in Norway to see what they could tell her.

Hopefully they can tell her somethin'. She also emailed a expert Doctor at the Animal Medical Center who does Diabetes diets, and some Doctors at Cornel including an Optamologist.

So....................I'll keep you posted - and hopefully they will find Miracle to help me and the other rare kittens like me.

Gotta go - Mr Mouse is calling me to sleep.

Well all was going well on the home front. I was getting a schedule, making friends with the dogs, getting hissed at by the cats, but I was having fun?

Yesterday morning Mom came in to feed me, and I am ALWAYS hungry! I fly out the door. All she found was poops, poops, poops and more poops. No me! She was calling Morgan, Morgan......... I didn't hear here? She was movin' furniture tryin to fine me.

No me? Finally she found me, all covered in poops, sitting in all the clean ferret blankies. She picked me up, and I was stiff as a cardboard box. Boy did she almost have a heart attack? She handed me, all covered in poop to Dad. He held me and petted me, and I got him all stinky and pooped up.

She thought I did an insulin crash, so she gave me Karo Syrup, and the called the ER. They said get me to eat food, and take me to my Doctor right away.

Luckily I got better quick. But they were sure shocked to see me come back so soon at the hospital. The vampires took my blood (outa my neck) and today it came back. Looks like I have an infection, so now I'm also on antibiotics.

So here I am back in the hospital sneaking on the Doctor's computer.

I HAD to come back! Mr Mouse missed me way tooooooooooo much!

Gotta go get some sleep!

Well, this morning at 7:00 AM I got my breakfast - YAYYYYYYYYYYYY - and then when I was done, they stabbed me with a needle. UGH But they say I have to be a good boy and get my insulin shots if I want to grow up to be a big kitty.

I tried to steal a cookie from Amber, and she growled at me. Gypsy loves me and kisses me and does moon dog howls. Amigo sniffs me now. Apache hides from me, Max howls at me, and Jesse James sits on the couch and stares at me.

I also climbed in the refriderator twice, tried to get into the garbage, and am weaving in and out of everyones legs.

Oh well - they better all get used to me. After all I am a handsome Latin Lover, and I'm cute.

Well my Foster Mom called the Clinic today, and they said I could go home! So, she and my Foster Dad had to come to the clinic to get me, and to learn to give me my shots.

Luckily they were patient with them - cause they both failed! Mom's hands were shaking sooooooooooooooooo bad, she had a huge case of chicken! She hates needles - so Dad's gonna do the shots.

When I got home, I finally got to meet Jesse James - he kissed me! Amigo - he just looked at me, Apache - she also just looked at me, and Max - he hissed at me! Then I got to meet Gypsy & Amber. They kept sniffing and sniffing me. Gypsy kept doing moon dog howls, she loves kittens!

I was happy to see my ferret friends again too!

Mom says we'll go slow getting me into the herd. She doesn't want anyone to freak out.

Not me for sure, I am a gentleman!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't written in a few days. They've been turning off the computer at night, so I can't sneak out and write.

Anyway - I am still at the Clinic, but now I get to run around all day and play with the 6 big kittys who live here! They all love me too, except Abigail. She's a old lady kitty, and she hisses at me. She says I'm a brat. Can you imagine?

Today my Foster Mom came to see me. She brought me lots and lots of new toys to play with. I got a new green frog, and my Aunt Marsha and Uncle Pepito (he's a Sato) sent me a catnip pillow, some balls, and lots of fuzzy little mouses! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!! It was party day here today! I got lots and lots of kisses and hugs too.

I let all the other kittys play with everything too. They are my buddys! They take real good care of me.

My sugar levels are still high, so I get 2 needles a day. I really don't mind though, cause I get food and kisses at the same time.

I learned where the kitchen is, and if anyone goes in there, I beg for food. I follow all the girls around - I am a Latin Lover you know, and it works. They all pick me up and pet me and kiss me.

Ricky Martin - you are nothing compared to me!

Well I better go get my beauty sleep - have to look my best for the Ladies in the morning.

Good night everyone.

Well Dr Nero went away from CT. I miss him, he's my friend. Terry and Alicia say he will come back on Saturday. But that's a long time?

Anyway, he told them that I need to be a kitten. So they now let me out of my cage 3 times a day so I can play! YAY!!!!!!!! I run around like a little wild man, I flip Mr Mousie, carry him all over, and I am just so much happier!

My sugar levels were high today, but I was a good boy for all the pokes they gave me.

I really like it here. Everyone gives me lots of pets and tons of kisses. Although I would like to go home, I don't really know what home is? I've only been there for 4 days, and here a whole month?

Well, I'm tired from all of the playing today. I have to go cuddle Mr Mousie.

Well here I sit, all alone with Mr Mousie and my Couqi. The hospital is closed, and I am lonely. I got my breakfast, and hugs and kisses, but I am bored. I want to come out an play?

No one called to check on me yesterday. My foster Mom must have forgot what time the hospital closed?

So I haunted her dreams last night. I made her wake up 6 times worrying about me. I am sure she's going crazy wondering how I am - and when she calls she gets the answering service. That will show her to watch the clock closer.

I sure hope I get better soon, so I can go live with her, and the silly ferrets, dogs, cats, prairie dogs and ground squirrels. Maybe I can even play with the bunny and the guinea pigs.

Today my Foster Mom came to see me in the hospital. She loaded me up with hugs and kisses, and brought me a present. I have a little puppy that says Think Pawsitive! She wants me to think pawsitive about getting better!

She played with me for a long time, and then I got an even better surprise! She called Aunt Leilani who is in Houston, Texas right now with her sick brother. I got to talk to Aunt Leilani! It was so awesome to hear her calling me Morgan, and telling me what a good boy I was. I kept hitting the phone, I was soo excited. I purred a lot, and I hope she heard me!

I have so many toys in my cage at the Clinic - everyone laughs about all my furry friends.

Looks like I have to stay here at the Clinic another whole week.

But that's ok - I am a happy little kitten. Everyone loves me and is really trying to make me feel better, they say I am a tough case cause kitten diabetes is so rare. I am so lucky I came to Connecticut!

Well, I am still here in the Cat Clinic. It seems it is really hard to get my diabetes under control. Donna has been emailing everyone all over the place - professors and vets, trying to get some ideas from the experts. She thought she had a good one - a Morris Foundation Study happening - but the Professor is studying the healthy cats right now. Not the Diabetic Ones yet.

But everyone here at the Clinic truly loves me, I have been here almost 2 weeks. Alicia gave me a special mousie that I just love. I carry him all over. Terry checks my blood and my sugar, and gives Donna updates. They all give me lots of hugs and kisses.

My Doctor loves me - he calls me a little knucklehead. No one gets mad at Donna when she calls the hospital. She calls twice a day, and they know she loves me too - so they are always really really nice.

We are all hoping I can go home this weekend. So can you guys all say lots of kitty prayers for me?

The nice lady Marnie, who took me home got real worried about me. She said I was way too skinny, ate way too much, and drank and pooped way too much? Hmmmmmmmm

Anyway - she decided to take me to the Doctor - and she poked me full of holes, took all my blood, and said I was a sick boy. She also had me go to meet a lady Doctor to look at my eyes.

The eye doctor says I have cataracts, and will need surgery when I get better. That word sounds scary.

The nice lady Marnie called the lady Leilani said was called Donna, and told her all bout my troubles. She came and got me, and she's helping me get better. She found me a really cool Doctor - his name is Nero - and he's been workin' real hard to make me feel better.

He's been keeping me at the hospital, and he says I have a pancreatic problem, and I also have diabetes. He gave me special meds, and they are helping me to get nutrition in my system. So what I eat is now really helping me get better. He's also got me on insulin, to help my diabetes.

I'm supposed to get out of the hospital today, and then I can go check on my ferret friends - Bambi & Kiwi. I like to pop them in the bean.

Stay tuned for more updates from me..........

Well, so far my life has been pretty interesting. I was found with my brothers in a parking lot, near San Juan. We were skinny and full of coccidia. We looked pretty bad. My little brother didn't make it, he went to Gato heaven, and I miss him. My big brother is doing fine, and got a home on the Island of Puerto Rico.

That leaves me? I stayed at the vet for a few weeks, and they said my eyes were bad, but then I got picked up by this awesome lady named Leilani. She loaded me up with hugs and kisses, tons of food, and a clean litter box every day. I kept hearing the words, foster home, airplane, on board, Donna will help, Save a Sato - heck I'm a Gato? What did this all mean?

One day I found out. I got whisked into a bag, and carried onto a YUCK airplane, by a very handsome young man. The plane made lots of noise, and I was scared but Hector kept telling me "It's ok little one, life begins when we land".

We landed at JFK in NYC - all the way across the Atlantic Ocean! WOW! I was an imigrant now! Luckily I had all my papers with me. All I owned in life. I was greeted by a nice lady named Marnie, who took me home to her nice house, and fed me lots of good things. She really liked me a lot.

My story will continue..........
