Please forgive us if we do not respond as we don't get our mail!
But this is the best present for us. Uncle never met us in person. But he is the kindest and gentlest person in the world. And super shy. Mom knew he played the guitar really well but never knew he could sing. She got home from work last night and found this video of him ...

Mom is starting to feel better. Instead of a coffee table, our table became a sick table. All that stuff has been on there for almost a week now. She needed it close by as she didn't have the energy to keep getting up to get her medicine. She barely had the energy to run to the bathroom a million times.
Anyhow, now that she is feeling quite a bit better, she thought she would take a picture of me and all the stuff that I used to help her get better:

Thank you so much!!!! Mom has been very sick since Saturday. Even too sick to go on the computer. Can't keep anything down. Can't sleep.
Finally, she went to the human vet. She has a serious sinus infection and a bladder infection.
She took her first antibiotic pill, and the effects can be vomiting and diarrhoea. She sure doesn't need that because she hasn't eaten in days and hasn't had much liquids.
So she takes her first pill, and ends up with both side effects.
She will try one more before asking for a different one.
Good news is she is home with us and we are good nurses. Bad news is she hardly feels like playing. And she barely has the energy to feed poor Lobo.
We are hoping the pills stay down, work soon, and she can get back her strength. Oh, and she cannot sleep a wink!
This will make her feel a little better. Me being the Cat of the Week!

Well, "They" don't get carted off to the vet clinic for no good reason.
I am perfectly fine. So why did I have to go through all of this? Mom thought I might have something wrong with me as I have been a bit cranky lately. Of course I was cranky. She left us for a week! Anyhow, I was a perfect angel on the drive to the vet clinic because I had no idea where we were going. But, holy cow, I wasn't so perfect when I got there and they poked and prodded me. Huge growls escaped my lips. Then, when they went to trim my claws, major hisses and spits passed my lips!!!! Took 3 of them. Then, they went to trim my back claws and Mom said, "No, you don't need to do those." No kidding Mom!!!!
I was also a perfect angel on the drive home. No complaining. Now, I am cuddling with Lobo and Squirrel has given me a good sniffing over. All is well.
When the vet was poking and prodding me I was growling like a lion. The vet said, at first, she wasn't sure if I was in pain, but after a while she realized I was not in pain. I just didn't like being handled like that. I must give her credit ... she was nice. They were all nice. I was just freaked out by all of this activity. They used a lot of spray. Some kind of calming spray. Good thing they had a full bottle. Wait until they see Squirrel!!! Good luck to them. They had better get a barrel of that spray for that day.

Mom used to say I was a good girl. Well, I've picked up a few tricks lately. One is that, as soon as Mom gets up from her chair, I take it over. She just goes to the washroom, or to answer the phone, and when she gets back - guess who is pretending to sleep soundly on it? Me!
And, I've spilled Lobo's water dish twice this week.
Also, while Mom took her bath today, I stepped on to her tummy and scratched her a bit. Then, I jumped out and tried to burrow under the bath mat and moved it out of her reach!
It is fun being bad!!!

I was minding my own business and playing with my toy mouse. Mom petted me and said I was cute. Next thing I knew, Mom was fussing with my bum with a wet paper towel and pulled off a crusty piece of poop from my delicate fur back there! I meowed out loud in protest. Mom just said, "I sure wish you would clean your bum like a normal cat." Hrumph.
I just happen to not want to lick poop off my bum like other cats do. That is gross! Do you think my Mom would like to lick poop off her own bum? I think not. I just happen to be more civilized than Squirrel and refuse to lick my bum clean. Give me some kitty toilet paper!!!! or, a bidet?
Anyhow, it is a losing battle for Mom as I will have another crusty there in no time.

We knew something was up when Mom invaded our room and started vacuuming and dusting. Then she pulled down our blankets and mattress, from our loft bed, and set to washing all that up and airing out the mattress. She also stripped the bedding off of our futon and washed that. Then she took a lot of junk and clutter out of our room and stuffed it in hers. Squirrel is more experienced than I am and told me, "Must be company coming!" Turns out auntie Lilian is coming. But, we are not sure on what day. So, Mom said she had to get the work done now because she has to work all week and doesn't have time to do it after today. She also mentioned that she had to wash the bed sheets twice because we "pigged them up" so much! What kind of a thing to say is that? But, now, here comes the bad part. She has locked us out of our room! We are not allowed back in until our company shows up. And then, only if our company allows us in! How unfair is that? It will be almost a week before she gets here. It is our room. Hrumph. Mom said she doesn't have the time to clean up in there twice, so we have to suck it up. She said just two days of us hanging out in there would undo all the work she did. She also pointed out all the great sleeping spots we have in other parts of the house. But still, we LOVE our loft bed!
But, I do remember auntie Lilian and it will be great to see her again!

Mom is working late shift. She came home and settled into bed, with me, around 1am. I got the munchies and went for a snack a short while later. Then, just as I settled back into bed, right by Mom's pillow, my tummy went "woops!". And I barfed a little bit, right on the bed next to the pillow. I then quickly jumped down and puked up a couple more piles of barely digested food. I looked back up at Mom, and luckily, she was in a deep sleep and hadn't noticed. Maybe she would blame Squirrel in the morning. I then moved on to sleep in our loft bed as my spot by Mom had puke on it.
When Mom got up, she was quite surprised by the messes. She only noticed the one on the bed about an hour after the ones on the floor. Up until then, my plan was working. She thought Squirrel did it. But, when she saw the one by her pillow, she knew it was me. Busted!

Like usual, I was being my cute little self and being nice to Lobo. I was rubbing up against him and rolling around at his feet. Well, the big klutz wasn't paying attention to me. He was watching Mom who was throwing popcorn for him as a treat. Well, all of a sudden, I meowed. Not loud, or distressed or anything. Just a meow saying, "Hey!" They both ignored me. I meowed again, about the same volume. Lobo ignored me but Mom looked over and saw that he was stepping on my tail!!! I was laying on my back and being all cute and his big fat front paw was on the last inch of my tail! I meowed again, a bit louder this time. Like, "HEY! Get off my tail!" Mom finally got up to help, but I by then pulled my tail out by myself since Lobo wasn't taking the hint. I came back right away to cuddle with Lobo some more while Mom explained to me that he is now quite deaf and for sure did not hear me meowing or he would have gotten off my tail. She said I should have tapped his leg with my paw and he would have stepped off right away.

I wanted Mom to put this story in my diary. It is really her story but I think most kitties will find it interesting if you know what I mean:

I was working on putting up a tarp over top of where I want to park my motorcycle. This is under my deck. My deck is high up off the ground. Under this deck is the dog run which has a chicken wire top to it because we used to let our cats go out there to get some air. My ex husband had bunched up one of those giant plastic tarps that is used to cover and protect loads of lumber during transport and storage. This one was ancient and just rotting away up there. So, I chose that moment to remove it and throw it out. It was disgusting. Full of rotting old leaves and other debris that had fallen through the gaps between the deck boards. And it was above my head and kept catching on wire making it a dirty and difficult job. There is about 2 feet between the top of the dog run and the bottom of the deck. This mess was jammed in there. I finally got it down and realized I would have to pack it tighter if I wanted to fit it into the garbage can. I started opening it up but there wasn't enough room in that area under the deck. I started to drag it to the carport when I saw I clump of something fall out of it. It looked like a nest, made out of fur. Some critter had made a little nest in there out of my dog's fur. Probably long gone, I was sure.
Once in the carport I tried to stretch it out to make it easier to fold up tighter - when I heard it… A little squeak. Then I knew the nest had been occupied. Was I dealing with little birds? Mice? I had my answer when I carefully lifted a part of the tarp and saw a baby mouse trying to run away from me. Crap! I heard more squeaking and found 3 more cuddled together inside the dirty plastic. All of them were calling out to each other and their mother. I did a thorough search and found no mother and no more babies. Now what? I went in the house and got my "Have-A-Hart" trap. Just so I had a place to put them while I thought about the situation. As I picked each one up by the tail and put them in there, it was obvious that even baby mice had unique characteristics. One fought like crazy! One was complacent. Etc. I put their nest in there with them to hopefully calm them. They squeaked for quite a while before falling silent. I peaked in and they were all cuddled together beside the nest.
So I hurriedly folded up that gross plastic tarp and shoved it in the garbage can. Then I picked up my tools from the interrupted job. The new sheet of plastic, that I had hoped to tack up on the wood frame I was building, was just sitting there in a heap waiting to be installed. When I went to stretch it out to roll it up, I jumped back in surprise. Inside it, was a very frightened Momma mouse and two more babies!!! They must have fallen there from when I dragged the old tarp past the new one. Well I was glad to find the mother, but now what? Lobo was only two feet away. Had he seen them, he would have gobbled them up. I was wondering how in the world I would catch the mother. So far, she had stayed put with her babies. On a hunch, I went and got the "Have-A-Hart" trap and brought it near her. She tried to run away but was hesitant to leave her two babies behind and may have heard or smelled the other four that were in it. I put the entrance to the trap near her. She started to run from it when, like magic, she turned right around went directly into the trap with her two babies right behind her. I could not believe it. What a relief to all of us! The mouse family was back together again after what must have been a very stressful half hour.
I then quickly set up a new home for them in a cardboard box. Ironically, a kitty litter box. I stuffed some dryer lint in there and some bird seed. I took this out to my far back yard, transferred the family into there, along with their nest made out of Lobo's fur, taped the top of the box shut (there were holes it the box for carrying it, so the Mom can get out when she wants) and left it there just as it got dark.
I don't know if they will survive this ordeal, but I think they have a chance. Had I not found the mother, there would have been no chance.
I tried to video some of this but had only one hand to work with, so the video sucks. My priority was to give this family a chance since I was the unwitting home wrecker. I didn't want to scare them further with more human interference than was necessary.

So that is the story. I was hanging around our back door while she was doing all of this and I sure sniffed her from head to toe when she finally came inside to stay. I could smell the mice on her and wanted to play with them! Heh, heh.

Okay, first some background information.
See Squirrel's diary for the "wasp" incident. Since then, there was another where I showed Mom where the wasp was and she dealt with it. Mom is very afraid of wasps.

Well, last night, I joined Mom in bed around 3am. I got on top of her and settled down. She was sleeping soundly and didn't even notice my arrival.
Meanwhile, she had a dream. It was very detailed and felt totally real to her. She dreamed that she was in bed, like she was, got thirsty, reached for her water glass on the night stand, drank some water, felt something come into her mouth, and spit it back into the water glass. In the dim light, she saw it was a WASP!!!! She saw every stripe on it's body. She saw it trying to sting something with its curled up ass end. She looked for something to cover the glass with before it could fly off, but all she could find was too small and didn't cover the entire top and it started to get away. At that point, Mom kind of woke up from her nightmare and jumped pretty well out of bed! I went flying off of her and rolled onto the floor. (This time I landed on my feet.) When she realized that she had been dreaming, she apologized to me. Too late, I went to spend the rest of the night elsewhere. Mom should have known it was a dream as she no longer keeps a glass of water by her bed. We either drink from it, dip our paws in it, or spill it. She has a water bottle, with a lid, by her bed.
I have forgiven her as I am sitting next to her right now and purring.

But here she goes again ...

Kitcat likes to crawl into pant legs and sleeves. My jean jacket was on top of a pile of junk. She crawled into the sleeve and then the whole pile fell over. She was trapped in the sleeve, so, obviously couldn't land on her feet. So BOOM she landed like a sack of door knobs. She seems to be okay, but what a goof. Now both cats are investigating the wreckage. I sure love those girls.

Thank you to all my friends for the messages and gifts on my birthday.
I spent the whole morning watching birds and playing with the laser pointer. Finally, Squirrel woke up and is playing with me too. Mom hung up an old bed sheet out on the clothes line then brought it in the house and hung in on our cat tree. It smells real nice and we have been playing with that. It is kind of like a tent where we can do sneak attacks on whoever is walking by.
I got so carried away playing this morning, that I pulled out some cables from behind our entertainment unit. Mom has yet to fix that. I'm sure she will before her NHL hockey team plays tomorrow.
Mom says that for my birthday, she will make a new video of me. She hasn't started it yet but it should be ready in the next few weeks.
I was having so much fun that I missed my morning nap. I guess I will go for it now.

Squirrel & I had a little scrap yesterday. It was our normal play fighting until Squirrel got one of her razor sharp, super curved claws hooked right into the skin of my right front leg. Mom was sitting right there and even heard it!!! Then we tried to split up but she was hooked real good into me. I pulled one way, she went the other and was actually dragging me with her by that claw in my leg. I screamed and she stopped. Mom was hopping Squirrel would get her claw out of me on her own, but nope. Mom came over and we both stayed still, but when Mom tried to pull Squirrel's claw out of me, I cried, Squirrel hissed and tried to run away. Mom said it almost felt like her claw was even stuck into the bone of my leg!!! Mom tried again, same thing, me crying and Squirrel hissing and both of us trying to go in opposite directions. Mom was afraid to get bit and scratched by both of us, but she went in once more and had to be a bit rough about it to get that claw out of me. She held my leg in one hand, grabbed and pinched Squirrel toe, pulled us together like that, and then pulled up real hard on Squirrel's toe and we were separated. We relaxed immediately and Mom was able to pet us both. We even kept playing, but not as roughly. There was no blood but that makes us worry about infection. She couldn't even find the mark in my thick fur. Mom said she could feel her heart thumping in her chest for quite a while after that.
Later, Mom trimmed a few of Squirrel's deadly claws.

Just under my chin where I can't reach! I was not impressed and Mom busted out laughing and couldn't stop. She went for paper towels to try and help me get it off but I kept turning away because I was insulted. She got some of it off and I used yoga poses and my paws to get the rest of it off.
Well, as some of you know, Mom didn't buy us any new toys. Instead, she promised to play with us more and dig out some of our old toys. That worked pretty good. But, the best thing she did was to take our tunnel, attach one end of it to the first level of our cat tree, and drape some old towels over it. So, we ended up with kind of a tent. One of us hides in the tent and attacks the other kitty as she walks by. Or, one of us sits on the first level of the cat tree, and the other hides in the tent. Then we bat at each other with only the paws of the kitty in the tent showing from below. It has been great fun and we have played with it all week! We have even surprised Lobo from our tent as he walks by. Here is a picture of the arrangement:

We were looking a bit bored the other day so Mom got creative. She dug out a pair of her old undies, one of the ones she keeps for rags. She cut them up into a square. She rolled up some catnip in them and then tied it all into a knot. Then she sprayed it with water and gave it to us. Squirrel & I played and played with it all day long! In between, we were so wired with catnip that we had little scraps. The next day, we were still playing with it and play fighting with each other. Eventually, I untied the knot, licked up the catnip and rubbed the undies all over my face. They had been washed but I could still smell some of Mom's stink on them. I'm one of those kitties that likes the smell of dirty laundry. Mom promises to make us another toy like that soon. But our catnip tub is empty. Time for another trip to the pet store!

Some of you know I am a bathroom cat. I always follow Mom in there to help her with her toilet habits, etc. Today, she felt chilled and went for a hot bath. Sometimes she reads in there and takes too long, so I jump up on the edge and encourage to get out. Lately, she has been ignoring me, so I have started to take very careful steps right on to her big belly! That makes her a bit nervous, and me too because if she has soaped up, it is slippery. Today, I added a new twist. I started kneading on her bare skin. She found that too much to take as my claws are very sharp. So she lifted me off and put me back on the edge of the tub. I then went to rub up against a bottle of shampoo and it fell in. This threw me off balance and I started to fall in too. I was only saved from getting wet by putting out my left front paw and pushing off on Mom's face. I accidentally scratched her. Mom said, "How am I going to explain this one at work?" She has a scratch on her cheek. She has been looking at me funny since then. I think she is waiting for an opportunity to catch me off guard and trim my precious claws!

I was looking bored today so Mom brought out a toy I had not seen in months. My bungee birdie! So, I am having fun with that right now. Mom is watching to make sure I don't get tangled up in it. And she put a carpet underneath so I can have a softer landing for my airborne tricks. She is noticing that I don't jump as high as when I was younger. She says it is because I am a bit too chubby. Well she isn't as fleet of foot as she used to be and for the same reason, plus she is getting old. But anyhow, this toy was exactly what I needed to relieve my boredom. Squirrel naps all morning while I want attention. Then, I nap in the afternoon and Squirrel wants attention. Mom wishes we would play at the same time.
Finally. I'm able to cuddle with Lobo again. For many months he didn't like me around him. He just wasn't feeling well. The last while, I am able to rub up against him again and he gives me little flea bites. Mom took a video of us cuddling today. She took that as a sure sign that he is feeling good again. He even let me play with his ears. Video isn't on Youtube yet but will be sometime soon.
Mom bought me a new laser pointer. I never had a good one. The one Lucky used to have was pretty well broken by the time I got here. The other, just goes in circles by itself. This new one, Mom has to run it and can make it go wherever she wants. It is way more fun. And when it is not on, it just sits there and looks like a mouse with whiskers and everything! The reason Mom finally bought me one was that she found herself at the pet store to find a new collar for Lobo! His old one mysteriously vanished. While she was there, she FINALLY remembered to buy me a laser pointer. Thank you Lobo!

Remember when we got our new bird feeder last fall and how excited we were? This is a video from then:
The Bird Feeder When it Was New
Well, a few days ago, Mom was lowering it to refill it and the wire inside the feeder broke and it fell to the ground and broke. The part that broke was the metal part at the bottom where the little birdies perch on. And, the wire inside pulled loose. We were all upset. Especially Mom because she had replaced our plastic one (which after many years was cooked by the sun and broke into a million pieces when the bear smashed it) with a very expensive metal one. And she spent a lot of time and money to hang it so that the bears couldn't get at it. It cost over three times what the plastic ones cost. Anyhow, Mom went and bought just a plastic one to replace it because she couldn't find her receipt from last fall. But, it was still bugging Mom. So, she went back to the store with both feeders, the new one and the broken one, and asked if there was anything they could do for her. They still sold the expensive ones so they could see what brand it was and how much it cost. But, without a receipt, hmmm. The nice man called the company that sold them. He explained the story to them. Then he handed the phone to Mom and the lady from the company took her name and our address and is sending us a new one in the mail!!! Isn't that nice?
The store Mom bought it from is Rona, a home building supply store up here. The bird feeder is the "Birdscapes Watchtower Feeder". Mom will be sending them a big thank you and a link to our video to show how happy their feeder makes us kitties, and the birdies too! And she returned the unused plastic one. She had the receipt for that since she only bought it yesterday.

2. If you make demands by doing any of the following, give yourself 1 point for each:
Persistent meowing 0
Biting 0
Smacky Paws 0
Relentless staring 0
Inappropriate behaviors (i.e., chewing on furniture, electrical cords, the oven) 1- sometimes!

3. If you make demands by doing any of the following, subtract 1 point:

Rubbing and purring on your human -1

4. If you let your humans rub your belly, subtract 2 points. -2

5. If you let anyone kiss your belly, subtract 5 points. 0

6. Are you Head of your Household (HOH)? 1

7. If you have kitty (or other animal) siblings, do you:
(Give yourself 1 point for each Yes)
Eat their food? 1
Demand that they groom you? 1
Chase them? 1
Stare at them relentlessly? 1
Stalk them? 1
Pounce on them? 1
Make them meow? 1

9. Please list any other crazy things you do that are ridiculously feisty (1 point per).
1 point- jump on Mom in the middle of the night
1 point- jump inside Mom's pants when she is on the human litter box
1 point- bother the dog

Total Score (Place your score/name in your Diary Title):

My Score is 11 of Feisty Points- I’m a Cool Cat (of course!)

0-5 LAIDBACK LOVEBUG: You are a lovebug. You are sweet (and probably floofy) and you go with the flow. Nothing *really* bothers you and you like everybody. You don’t even mind having a feisty sibling! You are a laidback lovebug!

6-15 COOL CAT: You are one cool cat. Smooth with a touch of mischief. You’ve got a bit of feisty in you and a bit of lovebug. Balance is good; you know how to have a good time by chasing and pouncing AND you know how to have a good time by being a mellow kitty and just hanging out. You are a cool cat!

16+ CRAZY FEISTY: You are a nut. A cheeky little monkey! Crazy, feisty, the talk of the town! Chasing kitty sisters, demanding your human feed you NOW, eating your mom’s favorite pair of shoes, turning on the oven with your freakishly strong teeth just because you can! The world is your playground and you’ll try anything once (or twice). If your human can handle the shenanigans of a CRAZY FEISTY kitty cat, all is good! If your human cannot handle the shenanigans, wait until she leaves for work to get crazy and then blame it on your sistercat when your human comes home! You are crazy feisty (and a whole lot of mischievous fun!)!

Any kitty that wants to play is invited! Feel free to tag friends to find out just how feisty your friends are! I’m tagging:

The reason I look so tired in my latest photo is because ...
We have been mousing day and night! When Mom got home from work late last night, our work was done and we showed her where we had contained the mouse. It was under her big vacuum cleaner. She picked it up but couldn't see the mouse. It was little, but real smart. It was hiding in the middle of one of the wheels on it! Squirrel showed Mom where and tapped it. It then tried to run somewhere else and Squirrel and I made sure it didn't go under heavy furniture. It almost got away but Squirrel picked it up in her mouth (yuck!) and brought it back to the middle of the room. Mom then trapped it under the bowl. It was a young one but very fast and healthy. It sat there and groomed itself and even ate some of our leftover catnip that was on the floor. Then Mom picked it up and let it go outside. I was sure a tired little kitty after that. I'm getting much better at mousing.

Mom was very sick these last few days. Her tummy was very sore. When she would lay down, which was for almost two whole days, I would wait for her to roll onto her back and then I would jump on her tummy with my whole 12 pounds. She would yell, "Ow Kitcat! That hurt!" But, then I would start kneading her and she would relax a bit. You see, I was moving the gasses around in her abdomen that were not moving and causing her all the pain. Then, for a finishing touch, I would lay across her entire painful area and purr. By then Mom was saying thank you Kitcat and we could hear the gurgling sounds coming from her tummy. I did that about ten times for her and finally, she passed gas. From there on in she has been getting better. So you see - I knew what I was doing.
Squirrel's job was to bug Mom to take her out for her leash walk, play with us, feed us, and clean our litter box. Because Mom needed to move around to help get her digestion working again.
It all started when the heat pump service man came to our house. I wouldn't stop growling at him and walking around him in circles. Mom has never seen me act this way before. I'm ALWAYS friendly. She picked me up, and I almost used my claws on her!, and locked me in the bedroom. I didn't like that. She put Squirrel in the other bedroom. Squirrel was fine. She wondered if the repair man had stepped on me? or kicked me? but she never heard me meow out loud.
I stayed kind of loopy for a few more days.
Mom figures it is because of the mice that just so happened to invade our house at the same time. Squirrel was behaving strangely, because she was hunting mice 24-7. Mom knew what Squirrel was up to but I didn't know what was going on with Squirrel, as I have never seen her in hunting mode before, so that upset me. I was trying to figure out what Squirrel was so focussed on and I didn't know. So that freaked me out.
I'm good now and haven't growled for a few days and am almost back to normal. I am still keeping an eye out for Squirrel and watching her body language. If she goes into hunting mode again, I might get uptight again. I prefer my toy mice to real ones. And I don't like middle of the night excitement unless I start it.
While on Mom's lap this morning, we spotted this cute little bird.

I'll let Mom tell this story. I'm still too excited to think!

The kitties just had an exciting time. They went out in their cat run only to find about a dozen birds in there! Well, these birds panicked and could not find their way back out. There are only a few spaces large enough for them to pass and with two cats chasing them, the couldn't find their way out! I watched helplessly as the birds, one by one, found a way to squeeze out. Kitcat actually swatted two of them to the ground but then didn't know what to do next, so these birds managed to squeeze out. One got kind of stuck in the chicken wire, half out, half in. It stopped for a rest in that position. Luckily, it was too high up for the cats to reach. It eventually got all the way out and flew away. By some miracle, all the birds escaped. Mostly because Kitcat & Squirrel had never had a chance to hunt a bird before and were just as confused as they were! They didn't know which of the dozen birds to go after first! And when it was down to just the two birds, Kitcat chased them, slapped at them, and then watched them squeeze through the wire near the ground and out to freedom. I am glad all the birds survived that ordeal. It was hard to get Squirrel & Kitcat to come back in the house before dark after all that fun.

I'm having a very nice birthday thanks to all of our friends. It started with some time on Mom's lap early this morning. Then we saw that Lobo was moving around better than he was yesterday. Then we saw all the pmails and presents I got for my birthday from my friends. Later I watched birdies out the front window. And just now I was out in the cat run enjoying the fresh spring air! When I came back in I cuddled with Lobo and Squirrel gave me a kiss. Mom picked me up and carried me around the house and told me how much she loves me. Life is good. Now, if only Mom's hockey team wins tonight!

A few nights ago, Mom was boiling veggies for her supper. She used the usual pot and lid. The lid is made of glass. She was watching hockey while her supper boiled. There was a funny noise. We all heard it. She was almost ready to ignore it until she saw me and Squirrel run into the kitchen with fluffy tails. She followed us and looked to see what we were looking at. We both stared at the pot on the stove. She went to it and looked closely. She saw tiny bits of glass on the stove top. She looked at the lid and saw that a tiny corner of it had exploded and sent little bits of glass in all directions. Because of us, she knew to strain her veggies to get out the larger shards of glass. And then she ate her veggies very carefully and spit out the bits of glass that were left over. Mom says that had we not "told" her what had happened, she might very well have eaten her veggies without knowing what had happened and cut up her mouth real bad. So she calls us her little heroes! Mom is really good at paying attention to our body language. She knows kitties and pups have way better senses than most humans.

I was minding my own business, sunning myself on Lobo's bed, while Mom did some sewing. I stayed out of the way! Honest I did. Well, she is so short and fat that she has to cut inches off the legs of her jeans and threw those fabric scraps at me for me to play with, I guess. Later, I actually did start playing with those things. She got out the camera and took video of me. But, she thought that wasn't exciting enough so she put one of them around my neck! That was fun for a few times until I put one front leg through it and got a bit tied up. I went for a run, still cute, Mom thought. I got both front legs through and it was just hanging loose around my middle. She was laughing and laughing! I walked over to our water bowl, with that stupid thing still hanging on me, and tipped it over! A whole bunch of water, all over the floor. I thought that would miff her, but oh no, she kept on laughing and said, "I got that on video!" So, I guess there might be another Youtube video coming in the near future. But she still had to get out some rags and mop up the floor. I got the last laugh. Squirrel woke up and came to see what was going on. We had a mini scrap and now we are watching our birdies.

The top 5 things that Mom does that annoy me ...

5. Won't sit still long enough when I'm using her lap as a cushion.

4. STILL hasn't bought batteries for my laser toy. She complains that watch batteries are super expensive and it takes three of them. Aren't I worth it?

3. Tries to keep me out of open drawers and cupboards.

2. Won't let me sneak out the front door and join Squirrel on her leash walk. Only I want to go out without a harness.

1. I like sleeping on Lobo's mat, of course, right in the middle. When he comes to use his bed and sees me there, he goes crying to Mom. Mom comes over and picks me up so Lobo can have his bed back. What a big baby. Mom grumbles something about how I have dozens of nice places to sleep, why take Lobo's bed! Because, it is there, I say.

There it is! Notice that I don't complain about food like most kitties do. I'm not much of an eater so far.
Feel free everyone to make your own list too. It is fun! I actually had a hard time thinking of things that Mom does to annoy me.

I've been living here with Mom and Squirrel for a year and a half now. We take turns on her lap. Mom thought it would be nice if we would both come on her lap at the same time. Yesterday, we did just that. Just for a short while before Squirrel got miffed by my presence and torqued out on Mom's lap. Today, just now, I joined Squirrel on Mom's lap while she was watching a movie. We were there together for over an hour! Mom eventually got a cramp in her leg and had to evict us. But she is wondering why it took a year and a half for this to happen!
As we prepare to start a new year, the weather is terrible. It is -20 with the wind! (-5 F). But to make matters worse, all the beautiful snow we had has mostly melted. So all that is left is patches of ice and frozen muddy ruts. Mom and Lobo aren't too happy about that. But us kitties are warm and comfortable in the house.
Where are our birdies? We have only had a few chickadees show up ever since Mom made our new bird feeder videos. Maybe they saw themselves on Youtube and got camera shy.
We got nothing for Christmas so we complained to Mom. She took one of her old sweat socks, put some catnip in it and said there you go. We were a bit miffed and left it where it landed. Later in the day, I got hold of it and found out it was a really fun toy. Once I had enough kitty spit on it to wet the sock through to the catnip, it was pawesome!!! But, it was about then that Squirrel snuck up on me and took it away from me. She can be a bully at times. We played with it back and forth for over an hour. I guess it was a pretty good Christmas idea. Mom promises to buy us some new fur mice soon.

How can that be? We got no presents and the batteries on our laser pointer just died!!!
Mom told me to chill because she was going to take out my bungie birdie! She did and I had a blast. And now, Mom said, she will take out our fishing rod and play with us. That is always the best anyway ... Mom making toys move around for us.
I heard about the troubles my cousin kitties are having. I don't quite understand that stuff as I haven't known anyone purrsonally that went to the bridge or was even very sick. Squirrel was trying to explain that stuff to me but it just went over my head. Mom said that is fine. I don't need to know about those things right at this moment.
I hope everyone is having a very nice and happy holiday. We are having a really nice one with Mom & Lobo.
Oh, and I made Mom smile in the middle of the night. I carried a very heavy toy into bed with us. Mom could not believe I had managed to jump into bed with it. It is a really heavy plastic toy ball with what looks like a ferret tail hanging out of it. It took her a while to believe that I had done it, then she petted me and said I was a good kitty.
Between Squirrel & I, Mom hardly got any sleep last night.
Love and purrs,

So, I use my spiked toes to stay on top of her as she rolls over! If I manage that, I win! I'm pretty good at it unless I have fallen asleep myself. Then I sometimes fall off.

My latest trick was knocking over a stack of recycling in the middle of the night. Mom wasn't sleeping very well anyway due to having a cold but still wasn't too happy when she heard crash, bang, smash! at 3am. When she hears something like that she has to get up and see what we have done and if we are okay. Squirrel showed Mom what had fallen over with my help. Then she used treats to lure me out of hiding. I had a fluffy tail from fright. We were all unharmed. Well, Mom's sleep was harmed. As Mom types this up for me she has decided to stay home sick today. From the noises she is making with her coughing and blowing her nose we think she should stay home. Good thing we can't catch her disease as it looks very uncomfortable. I think a good dose of kitty comfort is what she needs. Squirrel and I will be super cute and nice to her today after she cleans out our litter box and opens us up another can of Fancy Feast.

Mom's sister visited us for almost a week. We all like her and have fun. But, one thing, is all of a sudden the bathroom door gets closed and I don't get any bathroom time. I guess Mom and her sister don't want the other to see their naked bums. Anyhow, Mom caught a bad cold and went into the bathroom for a long, hot soak. She had her next set of clothes on the floor by the door. While she was soaking, I was on the outside and peaked under the door and saw her clothes all neatly piled up. While she was soaking with a wash cloth over her eyes and the bathroom fan running to mask any sounds I made I proceeded to snag each item of clothing she had and pull them under the door. Even her really thick sweat pants! So, when she was done her bath she had no fresh clothes to put on! Her sister was busy doing something else so didn't see Mom having to streak to get at her clothes. I thought it was a very good trick.

Mom doesn't do vacuuming very often as she isn't a great housekeeper. Auntie Lilian might be coming for a visit so Mom decided to tidy up the spare bedroom. In doing so, she opened the closet where she keeps the vacuum. That closet has been closed since April. Squirrel & I wanted to snoop in there so she left it open. Mom and Lobo were gone ALL day on one of their hiking trips so Squirrel & I were quite active when they got home as we had been snoozing all day. Mom said she was tired as they had hiked like 8 miles and she had done a lot of driving so she wanted to go to bed after barely playing with us. What she didn't know is that I had discovered some mice in that closet. Toy mice that we had accidentally lost under the door many months earlier. I waited for her to fall asleep before I started playing with the gray mousie. Eventually, I brought it to bed with us and was throwing it up high in the air and jumping up to catch it. Mom woke up to see what was going on. She saw that I had a toy mouse and was afraid that I might accidentally scratch her face while I was playing because I was aiming my throws to have it land near her head. So, she grabbed the mouse and threw it into the living room. Well, that was even more fun! So I ran to catch it and brought it right back. This we did about ten times before Mom wanted to go back to sleep, so she stuck the mouse under her pillow and said "enough Kitcat, go to bed, it is 2am!" All good things must come to an end or must they? I let her get a little more beauty sleep and snoozed with Squirrel on the bed. Then, around 5am, I went back to the closet and grabbed another mouse! A white one this time. I carried it to bed with us and resumed the game of flying mousie!!! Mom woke up and kept throwing it for me and we had a blast before she got up to make coffee and give us our morning treat. There is nothing more fun than finding toys that you haven't seen in a while.

Mom turned 50 a few weeks ago and got these flowers from an investment company that she is in. They were very beautiful but she couldn't keep them in the house as Squirrel and I trashed them. We would chew on them and knock them over every time Mom turned her back. So, she put them on the deck where the wind kept knocking them over. They didn't stand a chance in our house.
Mom has been saying how cute I am lately. She appreciates that I purr almost every time she touches me and sometimes even when she just looks at me. What can I say? I have a hair trigger on my purr machine. And I make her laugh every time she gets up in the morning and finds that I have brought my toy to bed yet again.
As you all know, I am the bathroom cat since Lucky passed away. Anyhow, Mom went out with Lobo to do chores, or whatever, while she was gone (far too long, I must add) I just nicely unrolled the toilet paper roll and had it all nicely piled up on the floor. I only made holes in a few squared of t.p. Anyhow, Mom finally went to use the throne and found my handy work. You know what she did? She rolled it all back up and took a few feet of it and tied it around my neck like a scarf and then laughed!!! She said something like, "I wish I had my camera right now!" as I tried to squirm out of the t.p. scarf and she was still sitting on the throne. Didn't take me long. In fact, I beat her to the kitchen and got there without the t.p. necklace in time to "help" her with the dishes. She doesn't take her camera to the bathroom because she is afraid of accidentally catching herself in the mirror. So I am safe to be myself in there. That is why I am the bathroom cat!
I really don't want a new Mom. It was fun and she never gets upset over any mischief we do. Except for when our claws get through all of her blankets and we actually scratch her feet at night. She has a few scabs from the last few nights. She has managed to trim half of our claws but we still have super sharp ones.
We are actually having a lot of fun as Mom is on days off and Squirrel was diary pick today.
We played like crazy in the cat tunnel today. Mom will make a video. She will make a video of my latest fun in the kitchen sink. But don't expect a video of what we do in the bathroom. What happens in the bathroom! stays in the bathroom.

... about my 1st birthday and how sweet I am.
Instead, this is what she is posting in some of my groups!!!!:

"I'm sorry Kitcat but I have to ask. You are a big girl now. Your are 1. I have to ask if other kitties out there have the same problem we have.
My dear little Kitcat always has, a rice sized, dried up chunk of poop stuck to her behind. If I am quick, I can pull it off. But the same thing happens again and again. I have never had a kitty with this problem before. The only reason I am asking about this now, is we have company coming. Anyone else have this problem? If so, what do you do about it?
Kitcat's Mom"

Crazy Mom. Like her butt is so clean!
Anyhow, I had a great 1st birthday and we are all anxiously awaiting the visit from my auntie and uncle whom I have never met. Squirrel and Lobo tell me that they are super cool. Uncle has 7 cats! Auntie has 4. All rescues. How cool is that?
Also, we know the diary pickers like poop stories so we hope this ends up as a diary pick.
I am one now!

Later she heard the unmistakable sound of a real squirrel! She came over to the window and a squirrel was up in our tree giving Squirrel and I heck. The really good part is that my sister Squirrel was scared of it and ran back into the house at full speed and ran upstairs and hid under our kitty bench. Imagine, Squirrel being scared of a squirrel! I wasn't scared and stayed out there the whole time! Later, Mom left it some peanuts and brought Lobo in the house. The squirrel took its time but it did find the peanuts. I watched the whole thing. I'm still out there now and it has been hours. I'm happy we have a squirrel in our yard.
This is a true story.
I was watching old videos of my animals when I played one where Kitcat was playing with her "bungee birdie". The last few times I put it up she didn't play with it. So it has been a long while since she saw it. She perked right up when that video was playing and went to try and play with the on screen version. So, I took the hint and put it up for her and boy oh boy did she go nuts on it. She can jump even higher that just a few months ago. She played with it for almost an hour with short rest breaks.
This is the video we were watching when she decided that she wanted that toy again:

Well, Squirrel and I were just playing with our new tunnel and some of our old toys when she thought she would make a run to the store to buy some pop. She then thought that she should take me with her, in the cat carrier, just to let me see that not all car rides end at the vet clinic. Squirrel is hopeless and will not go in the cat carrier. She is part feral. So Mom dug out the cat carrier. It had not been used since I got spayed in November. She was going to get a toy or treat to lure me in. I didn't wait for that and just walked right in! Mom locked the door and grabbed her wallet, keys and camera in case I did something funny. SURPRISE MOM! I'm not a scaredy cat! I was calm and quiet the whole way. I stayed in the carrier, seat belted in, while Mom ran in to get her pop. When we got home, she let me out right away. I came out of the carrier and Squirrel sniffed me, then I went on to play with the carrier. I went in and out and even took a little rest in it for a while. Mom is very proud of me and knows now that if I ever need to go anywhere, I will be no trouble.

A couple of days ago, I was helping her look through some books. She says it was an accident. All of a sudden, my tail was being pinched in a door! I went meow, Meow, MEOW! Finally, Mom released my tail. She petted me and apawlogized. I was okay.
Then, today! I helped her with laundry as she stripped our bed. (Squirrel was sleeping in the living room.) Then she went to sit on her litter box (she calls it the throne). I followed her like I always do. She has started to bring my laser toy with her. She says it is so that I stay off of her lap and don’t fall in the toilet while I “bother” her. As if. Anyhow, that has worked well for both of us. She makes the red dot go all over the place including the tub. Today, I had no idea but she had run an inch of water in the bath tub. Then, she used the laser to lure me into the tub! I had no idea it had some water in it! So after landing in there, I made a quick turn and jumped back out. But not before getting my feet wet. She was laughing and saying something about wishing she had had the camera ready. I think if she did I could send that video to the SPCA! Anyhow, I got the last laugh. I went running around the house with my wet paws. I went to the dirtiest places in the house. Not hard to find as Mom isn’t a very good housekeeper. I especially lingered over by where Lobo the dog hangs out. Then, while she was watching, I jumped onto our stripped bed, onto the bare mattress with my muddy paws. How about that, Mom?
Don’t ever try to outsmart a cat.
And, Mom, don’t forget that Squirrel and I now draw cartoons.

Mom brought a bird in our house. She wants to tell the story, so here goes:

I had insomnia again and was awake real early but gave up trying to sleep so was in the living room around 6am. It was a beautiful morning. Birds going crazy. So, the cats and I were sitting in front of the picture window. They were watching the birds while I watched them watch the birds and worked on some of my videos. Then "BANG" "BANG"!!! Two birds hit the window, hard. They landed just barely within my view. I could see one hopping around, dazed, but okay. I was dubbing some camcorder footage so didn't head out the door right away to check on them. I was going to wait 5 minutes to finish what I was doing so I could hit the "stop" button at the right time. Then I saw Squirrel's body language. She was telling me the evil black cat was in her yard. So, I hurried out there to see if both birds were gone. Found one looking pretty bad but breathing. (The other was okay and gone.) I thought this one was toast but picked it up before black cat got there. It struggled a bit. Now I was stuck. I had this black cat at my heels and this almost dead bird in my hand. So, I went back in the house and carried the little bird past my very interested house cats. I put it in a shoe box and added a soft piece of cloth. I had read about doing this. I put it all in the bathroom while shooing away the cats. The box had a lid that didn't close properly so I knew this was only a temporary solution. I was quite sure the bird would not survive anyway. I decided to bring the box back outside so the bird could hear its friends instead of strange sounds from my house. I hadn't even put the box down before black cat was all over me. So, I wedged it, up high, between some tree branches. Then I went back in the house and did some reading about this situation. One article said to leave the lid open on the box. So, out I went to do that. Bird was not looking good but still alive. I went back in the house and another article stressed warmth. It was freezing outside so I warmed up an old sock and went and put that in the box. The bird had pooped by now but was still not looking good. Couldn't lift its head. But it was breathing and did perk up when I would stroke it. I went back in the house and read that it could take as long as 45 minutes for a bird in this situation to recover. So, I watched from the living room to make sure black cat didn't climb the tree, or crows come and get the poor thing. By now, over an hour had gone by. I had to get on with my day. First job was to walk Lobo the dog. So, my plan was to move the bird to my deck. There it would be safe from cats and dogs. That was the best I could do. I fully expected to find it dead after all that time. I went to move it and found it sitting up! I carefully removed the box from the tree and started to carry it to my back yard. The little thing then flew up in my face and then to a tree that was pretty far away! It was okay! This made my day. Had I not been there, it would have died. The black cat would have gotten it for sure. The article I was reading could now update the time taken for a bird to regain it senses to 80 minutes.

What a morning for bird watching. Hundreds of them were just inches from our noses. I even tried to go through the window to catch one. Mom just missed catching that on video. She was working on her taxes. But she did grab the camera and get pictures of the birds and us looking at them. She got such a close up of me that you can see my teeth!!! I'm sure that will make its way to Youtube some day.
Speaking of videos ... a TV production company from the United States is interested in some of our videos for a new animal show they are planning. I've already signed a release form for one of my videos. I'll probably be on the Animal Planet Channel some day soon. Too bad we don't get that channel. Maybe Mom will sign up for it on her satellite TV. That is if she ever gets done watching Olympic hockey. She was pouting when team USA beat team Canada in men's hockey on Sunday. Canada still has a chance to make it to the gold medal game and face USA again. But it is a slim chance. They have to win 3 more games to get there. They did just beat Germany but have to beat Russia today. That will be tough. Then, if they get by Russia, they have one more game to win before even getting to the gold medal game. The women are for sure in the gold medal game. Tomorrow! Of course, against team USA. So don't phone Mom during that 3 hours. And if Canada loses, don't talk to her for a week. Ha, ha! She says if cats played hockey they would have to play the replays in super slow motion to show our moves. She says cats would be perfect hockey players.

Mom was just waking up and Squirrel and I were sleeping with her. Mom was taking too long so Squirrel and I started scrapping. Next thing I knew, Squirrel had a claw impaled on the inside of my nose! I cried out in pain. Squirrel didn't move. We both froze. Me with my face up and Squirrel with her front leg stretched out and her paw in my face. Mom and I were very surprised that Squirrel was nice enough to stay still and not rip my nose. I kept making little, sad meows. Mom carefully pulled out that sharp, hooked claw from the middle part of the inside of my poor little nose. I almost had a piercing or worse! After a few shakes of my head, I was okay. We both got extra treats. Squirrel for trying not to hurt me and me for having been hurt a bit. There was no blood that we could see so Mom is hoping I won't get and infection.

We want to thank everyone who made my day so special.
It was a very nice day. Mom bought us some new toys to celebrate. We got a new laser pointer (my favorite toy) because our old one was getting too dim. The new one looks like a bumble bee and is very bright. And she got two furry toy mice. We didn't have any since I was around (just real old ones that the dog chewed on). So, Squirrel was showing me how to play with them last night. I already ripped the tail off of the white one because I am very rough on my toys. Squirrel could play with them for years without wrecking them, she usually just looses them under heavy furniture or to the dog. You should have seen that old girl go! She was very fast while she threw them around the room and chased after them. And she would juggle them in the air. I'll have to learn how to do that instead of holding them down with my paws and ripping at them.

Mom took out my bungie birdie toy today. I had not seen it in almost a month. Boy did I ever play with it. It is very hard work to jump that high so I had to take lots of breaks between rounds. But, let me tell you, that I am very good at it. If I ever get a chance to hunt real birds, I will easily be able to snatch them right out of the air. Mom took video of me playing but it isn't ready to go on Youtube yet.
Squirrel was sleeping through all of this. She isn't a bird hunter, she is a mouser. Plus, she is too fat to jump that high. Ha, ha!

Mom was busy this morning giving Lobo his morning walk, then shoveling snow, then getting the garbage ready. Just before it was time for her to head to work, she couldn't find me! She looked to see if I was sleeping on the bed, or in my secret place. No. She started to wonder if I had snuck outside. Then, she called out to me. And, I jumped out of a cloth grocery bag like a jack- in- the- box! And I said, "Mew!" She jumped a foot in the air as this bag was right beside her feet and she had no idea I was in it. She was very happy to find me and that I actually came when called!

Today was the day. It snowed over the last few days but it was too cold, Mom said, for me to go out in the cat run. Well, today, it got real warm so our window was opened up. Squirrel sniffed the air but didn't go out. I didn't either until I saw Mom go out the door. So I went out and then I walked all over the cat run in the snow! It was really weird at first and I tried not to step in it. But there was no way to go and play in the cat run without stepping in it. So I did. Mom took video but it isn't ready to show yet. I was out there for over an hour. Mom had to make me come in because she said her heating bill would be too high if she left our window open any longer. She said that she knew I would like snow and wouldn't mind walking in it because I am probably really a snow leopard. Squirrel went for her leash walk in front of the house. She can walk along the house where there isn't any snow. I'm tougher than she is.

Today, for the first time, Mom put on the video she took of me the day I got back from the vet clinic and stuff she took since then. I watched the whole thing! Mom thinks that I am pretty smart to watch TV like I do and recognize what I am seeing. On that video is Squirrel and I playing in the fall leaves in our cat run. Also, you can see us watching birds and me chattering at them for the first time. There is a bit of me in the tub when there is still some water in it. I like watching myself on TV.
First, I had a good night with Squirrel and Mommy. Then, Mom decided to open up the basement and the spare bedroom. Squirrel and I were very happy about that. She also figured I was well enough to go back to using the big kitty litter box and put away my baby one. Then, I watched birdies with Squirrel. Then, I felt real bad and jumped off the couch and went into the bathroom hallway and puked three times!!! Mom was very worried about me because after that I was, what she called, "lethargic". She watched my every move from then on. So, I figured that if she was going to watch me that closely I may as well park my butt on her lap. So I did. (This is when she discovered the most horrible thing that I will mention later.) After an hour she gave Squirrel and I some fresh Fancy Feast. I ate with a good appetite and felt better. So, Mom dared to take Lobo for his walk and leave Squirrel and I home alone. When she got back, I wasn't right there at the door. Soooo... she started to freak out again. I came out of my newest hiding place with sleepy eyes and said: "Whuss Up?" (She doesn't know my latest secret place.) Then, Squirrel & I ate some more. Squirrel had some lap time with Mom after that while I snoozed on the computer chair.
Some time during these last few days Mom has noticed that I'm not scratching her like I normally do. So, she looked closer and found out the reason that I growled non stop at those people at the clinic!!! They trimmed ALL of my claws while I was sleeping! And they trim way more off than Mom does. They even did my back claws!!! Mom and I were not asked about that and did not give our purrmission for that. Now Mom knows why I am missing some of my jumps. I don't have my tools! I have half a mind to take a few weeks to grow and sharpen up my claws, then pretend to be sick so that Mom takes me back to the clinic. Then I could shred the hands of the people that did this to me. Hrumph. I heard Mom say that she is glad they did that. What? I thought she loved me!
Anyhow, other than my pukes, I am feeling much better now.
I am most certainly learning the art of bird watching. And, today, I learned how to chatter at the birds! My first time. I watched and learned from Squirrel as to how to do that.
And! I got my purr back. I am sitting on Mom's lap right now and purring.
I feel very loved by my family and all of my Catster friends.

Well, yesterday, Mom let me out of the bathroom because I was jumping onto and off of the sink. I wasn't resting. She figured I couldn't do much worse in most of the rest of the house. So, she blocked off the basement and the spare room so I wouldn't jump off super high things and let me loose. I ate lots and played a little. Squirrel kept hissing at me. I got to see Lobo just briefly. Then, around 7pm, I settled on Mom's lap for a power snooze. After, I ate some more, used the upstairs litter box and then just waited for bed time. Squirrel and I both slept all night with Mom. I slept soundly except for a midnight snack. Ha, ha!
In the morning, I fell out of bed. Mom had put a step for me but I tried to jump over it and missed. Then, I ate some more and Squirrel kept hissing at me. I played a bit, had a nap on Mom's lap, watched birdies and then tried to go down the stairs to see what was going on down there. That hurt a bit so I didn't go all the way down. Also, I could see the door at the bottom of the stairs was closed anyway. Now I know why Mom gave me a litter box upstairs because it did hurt to use the stairs.
I'm feeling pretty good all in all. When Lobo came in for his breakfast, he didn't bother me and I didn't bug him like I usually do. I just kept playing with my paper bag and he just ate his breakfast.
Mom has to go to work tonight and is hoping Squirrel and I don't fight or play too rough. I think I will probably sleep. I'm sure anxious to feel all better and grow my fur back.
Mom told me tomorrow, she has a day off work so she can play hockey. So she will only be away for a few hours instead of 9 hours.
I don't mind the cat tree laying on its side. Mom says she will leave it like for about ten days.
One more thing, I lost my purr! I didn't purr at all for the first while. Then, when it came back, it was quiet. Mom is hoping it comes back to normal. Normal is super loud and any time she touches me.

The day Mom has been worrying about ever since she met me, finally came. I was scheduled to be spayed.
I was a trooper. I didn't complain about having no food since last night. I just kept playing! Mom had to lock me up while she let Squirrel eat a bit. Twice! (Once was in the middle of the night.) Another strange thing Mom did is take down our cat tree. She said she doesn't want me jumping off of that for a while. She left it laying on its side so we can still sort of play with it.
Then, Mom had a bit of trouble tricking me into the cat carrier. She tried with the laser pointer, but that didn't work. Then she tried a string, that worked. Once she got me in there, she brought out our food and water bowls for Squirrel. I couldn't get at them. I wasn't hungry or thirsty anyhow. She also didn't feed Lobo this morning. She was afraid I would get into his food and water. As if.
Once I was in the carrier there was not a peep out of me the whole way there. Lobo came with us. Mom said she would take him for his walk after she dropped me off. She said it would help her relax.
There was a bit of a wait at the clinic while they dealt with a little dog, a weiner dog, that had tooth problems. That dog complained the whole time. I tried to tell her to just chill but she wouldn't. She was scared. I was starting to think that maybe I should be scared too, but I wasn't scared. Then the lady at the desk wanted to see my teeth. She was wondering if I still had some baby ones that might need to get pulled. Like maybe they are in the way of my big girl teeth. So, she opened the door to my carrier and I slowly came out. My tail was puffy so Mom knew I was a bit scared, but not too bad. She looked at my teeth and they are purfect. I went back in the carrier. She had a hard time closing the door because of my gorgeous, super long tail. She told my Mom how much it was going to cost and I saw tears in Mom's eyes. But, I think those tears were there for most of the morning. So maybe it isn't the money that is worrying her. Anyhow, the clinic lady took me to another room (I heard Mom say: "Take good care of her!") and it is here that many strange things were about to happen...

To be continued ....

Okay, I don't know what happened. People grabbed me and the next thing I knew I awoke in a different cage and felt real crappy. Strangers looked at me. I slept some more until another stranger shoved me back in my cat carrier. I growled at her! I growled at everybody. I was still growling when Mom came to pick me up. Mom was upset that I was so upset and pacing in the carrier. She expected me to be sleepy. No way. She took me home and I settled down a bit on the drive. She had planned on just letting me loose in the house but decided to keep me in the bathroom overnight. So, she put my carrier down on the livingroom floor while she rushed to prepare my room for the night. Squirrel came and looked at me. We didn't growl or hiss at each other. Mom brought me in the bathroom and opened my carrier. I came out and looked around. I suddenly was super hungry and gobbled the food Mom had put out for me. Just a small amount as the vet had told her not to give me too much. Then, I went for a pee in the litter box. Then, I played with my water and spilled it all over. Mom laughed because I was starting to look like my normal self. She left me to rest while she tended to Squirrel and Lobo. Well, rest? are you kidding? That is all I have been doing all day! I was making so much noise she came back to check on me and had a hard time keeping me from escaping. She brought me a toy, a scratching pad and some more water which I promptly played with and spilled all over. Ha, ha! No way you will ever spay me again after you see the mess I make!
A confused, upset, but glad to be home ...

Mom is giving me extra pets and cuddles even though I am being a total brat. I asked Squirrel about that and she said, "It is because you are going in for surgery on Tuesday." I said, "What is that?" She said she wasn't sure but it was something that Mom worried about but had to be done. Squirrel didn't remember her "surgery".
Meanwhile, Mom has noticed how I am noticing what is going on outside our windows! I am noticing birds! I am spending a lot of time looking out windows and Mom finds that cute. A bird watching video is in the making. There is something in my bones that makes me want to catch one of those flying things. I feel like a big girl sitting next to Squirrel with our tails wagging while watching the birds at the feeder. I feel like I belong to an exclusive club.
Mom has days off now so Squirrel and I are going to enjoy having her full attention for a few days.
I heard rumblings about my not being able to have food after 10pm on Monday and water after 7am on Tuesday? What is that?
I guess I will write in my diary again after my "surgery".

P.S.: Mom is doing everything she can so that I do not have to wear a cone after my surgery. I know what a cone is. Lobo had one on for a while and it scared me big time. I don't want one.

For about a week now Mom has been puzzled about a few things.
For one, she has not been able to find me at times when I normally would be napping with Squirrel in our loft bed.
For two, she has noticed a light on in the basement that she was so sure she had not left on. She was starting to think she had alzheimers.
And for three, when she was calling out for me, she would hear a big boom, see me come to her all sleepy and still have no idea where I came from.
Anyhow, I'm sad to say, she found my hiding spot:
http://i230.photobucket.com/albums/ee21/breakgive/hidingplace.jpg
I was going into the basement, climbing up high and making a comfy nest on top of her big backpack. On the way up, I was turning the light on because it is one of those pull on the string switches. I was turning the light on for warmth. I was hoping she wouldn't find my special place. Guess I will have to find another one.

Aikikikikikikikofter saying hi to me and Squirrel and letting Lobo say hi to us, Mom tried to get some rest. Well, forget it. We jumped up and down all over her while she tried to sleep. Especially me. It is sure nice to have her home and she seems to be very happy to be with us again. She told me she forgot how wild and crazy I was!!! I got a little bit bigger. Squirrel even put on a bit of weight. She was glad to see that we hadn't scratched each other while she was gone. No wounds on us. But we sure do play rough at times.
What a major weekend for us! Mom finally got some days off and she put up a cat climbing tree for us in the living room! What fun that is. I was climbing on it while she was trying to assemble it. She took video when she could:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3OqNR0uAHA
Then, on Sunday, Mom finally decided it was time for me to go out in the cat run. Squirrel will probably make fun of me about that because I was kind of scared. Mom realized that it was for sure the first time I had ever been outside. Of course, she took video of that, but her camera battery died before I quit being scared: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpbvRGmZuJI
We both got fluffy tails when a dog came into our front yard. Squirrel could see it out our window. She knew we were safe, but then, Lobo spotted the dog. He was up on the deck and made quite a fuss and a lot of noise. That spooked both of us for a short while and we both got fat tails.
I’m outside with Squirrel right now!

I should be a toy tester. Mom has given me the toys that Lucky and Squirrel played with for years and I have pretty well wrecked them all. The lastest was my squeaky mouse. It was pretty tough though. Last week, I gave it a bath in my water dish. By the time Mom rescued it, it was completely soaked and wouldn't squeak any more. A few days later, it started squeaking again! Then, I pulled the tail off of it. Mom found that before I ate it. Then, yesterday, I was playing with it and I threw it up in the air real high! The mouse went one way and the insides of it went another way! So, we finally got to see what made it squeak! Some plastic covered electronic thing with a battery in it. Mom grabbed that and put it away. Meanwhile I kept playing with the mouse and ripped off an ear. I am also wrecking my tunnel. Mom says she might have to buy me a kevlar toy ... whatever that is.
Lobo is also very rough on his toys and she loves him. So I guess she must still love me.

I guess I have done a few bad things over the last few days. I gave my squeaker mouse a bath in my water bowl. By the time Mom found it, it didn't squeak any more. Mom said something about the electronics and battery being ruined by the soaking. Whatever.
I also, dragged my tunnel over to and soaked it in Lobo's water bowl. That was fun.
Apparently, I was bad all night because I kept jumping all over Mom while she tried to sleep. Too bad for her that she dismantled my time out room. She thought I was ready to no longer have to be locked up in the bathroom. So, she removed my litter box from there and can't lock me up there anymore! At least not for long.
This morning, I spilled Mom's full coffee mug all over the coffee table and onto the "remote controls", whatever that is.
On the bright side, my squeaker mouse started squeaking again!
Mom keep saying, "Lucky for you that you are so cute!" I also scratched her a few times in the last few days. All accidents.
But, I am happy to be a big girl now and not be locked up in the bathroom at night. Mom is slowly moving my litter box down to the basement where Squirrel's is.

Okay, I've been here long enough to notice that Mom usually tells bad things about me. Like my smelly gas. My craziness. My being a pest and all. So, I asked her to please tell about some of the good things about me. Here goes:

1.) Kitcat is gorgeous.
2.) Kitcat purrs any time I touch her.
3.) Kitcat is super crazy and active, but not mean.
4.) Squirrel, Lobo and I love watching Kitcat play.
5.) Kitcat seems to like me and follow me around.
6.) I love having her on my lap and stroking her feline fineness.
7.) She trusts me already.
8.) She talks to me.
9.) Kitcat is truly fearless.
10.) Kitcat has been perfect in her litterbox manners.

There you go Kitcat,
Love,

She came home from work last night and I somehow climbed up onto the highest piece of furniture in the whole house! Even Lucky never got up there. So, Mom tried to help me down but couldn't reach me! That is how high it was. So, she went to get a step stool. Before she could get back to me, she saw (to her horror) me jump down. 7 feet onto hard floor. She was shocked and very upset. I just ran away like nothing had happened. She came and got me and checked me all over and told me how much I had scared her. She says she is happy that there is nothing any higher in the house than that. No need to worry about the loft bed anymore unless I land on something sharp or a hard edge.
She is slowly starting to learn that I am truly a wild and crazy girl!!!
I chased the big cat again today.
Then, later, big cat gave me 5 sharp taps on the forehead. And then, she did it again!!! Mom laughed because I didn't move. I just closed my eyes and let her do that! Squirrel didn't use her claws.
Mom was home most of the day except when she took the dog to the vet. It is all in his diary:
