Her best friend, Squeaky.
Most other cats, except her half-sister, Pretty. As long as Pretty doesn't try to flirt with her boyfriend, Squeaky.
She doesn't play.
Favorite Nap Spot:
On top of the woodpile, or the big doghouse. As long as she knows Squeaky is close by and doing okay.
Canned food. Any brand or flavor!
Well, being so smart is a definite advantage. She's also very quick & can retreat silently from a threat. She's a feral but will let us pet her & put flea drops on her.
She was a feral kitten at a feeding station where I work. Her mother Sweet Pea had hidden her and taught her well to be afraid of people but after a steady diet of pork chop, steak or tuna (I didn't eat lunch, just gave it to Sweet Pea and Sweetie Pie) she decided I wasn't so bad after all. One day she rubbed around my feet and I picked her up and whisked her (kicking and screaming) off to my home and the vet - I didn't know about ferals - I had her spayed and declawed because I had a family in Dallas who wanted 3 kittens for their 3 children. Before they could pick her up, my husband decided he wanted to keep her. He was bedridden, recovering from surgery and she had befriended him and made him her purrfect people friend.
You can see she is outdoors in the picture. She was a housecat for years until we moved to the country. Some kind of wild animal or another cat came through the pet door and fought with Sweetie Pie (we never found out - just heard the ruckus - it must have exited the house). After that she has been terrified of coming into the house. For a year or more, she stayed under the house or hid under a large plant in the flower bed. A feral we named Lucky 13 (because we had 12 cats by then and said she is Lucky we let her stay, because we'd vowed to not adopt any more) came to our yard and had two kittens, who were feral. The mother died a terrible death by a pit bull in the neighborhood (we had taken this puppy in but didn't know his bloodline - I took him to Animal Control after poor Lucky 13's death) but the kittens stayed around for the twice daily Purina cat chow. They were TNR'd. Now Squeak(y) is her body guard and BFF. They love each other so much, they are inseperable. They eat together, defend each other, canoodle all the time...she is safe here because she's one of the smartest kittens ever...

March 17, 2012 started out as good as it gets...beautiful spring morning, breakfast with Daddy petting me...he and Mommy went to town for breakfast, and came home to find my sister Pretty lying dead in the driveway, with two strange dogs running around the circle drive...Mommy ran screaming to hold Pretty's lifeless body, while Daddy went to chase the dogs away; they were already on top of the barn, having treed Friend and Sparkle & Inde...damn dogs! I had lived 10 years, without front claws, but I was too skeered to go in the house anymmore after something came through the pet door and attacked me...but my boyfriend Squeaky was always there giving me kisses, and my sister Pretty gave me lots of loving too...she liked to go out to the end of the driveway, even sometimes crossing over the dirt lane into the forest, where the deer lived...we didn't know there were killer dogs just a stone's throw from our property, roaming loose, having killed 21 cats at their owner's home! The owners said they'd pen the dogs up now...a week later, they were back terrorizing our friendcats...anyway, I must have died the same day or the next day, as Pretty...no blood, just saliva marks all over my lifeless body when Mommy and Daddy finally found me...she could have killed those dogs with her bare hands! The neighbors said they'd chain the leader of the dogs. I'm at the Rainbow Bridge now, and Pretty and I will never live in fear or terror again, or be hurt again, but poor Squeaky! He lost his feral mama 4 years ago, when a puppy Mommy and Daddy adopted killed mama...then Squeaky's Sister, "Two", showed up dead in the driveway, almost exactly where Pretty was lying on St. Patrick's Day....makes you wonder how many other times the killer dogs had been visiting what Mommy and Daddy thought was a safe place for kitties...Poor Squeaky cries & waits for me, he doesn't seem to understand where I've gone...he's all alone now, and sad...he looks at Mommy and Daddy and cries & then jumps over where I used to sleep in the sun and looks at them again...wish I could give him a kiss and let him know I miss him too, but we will be together again someday...r.i.p. sweet Sister Pretty, too...she loved Mommy so much, and they miss her and me soooo very much.

Squeaky and I are JUST FRIENDS, okay, but we want y'all to know, we are happy in our new situation...my boyfriend Squeaky (we are spayed and neutered) are staying in Mommy's cat room for awhile...Daddy said we must be having a honeymoon, since we're in the upstairs bedroom while Squeaky recuperates from an eye infection. Thank goodness he tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV!!! But he's too frightened to let our Meomy put the antibiotic ointment in his eyes, which are seriously infected, since the recent snowstorms in Texas - we got really cold, but were too scared to come into the house...Meowmy had to trap Squeaky to get him to the vet, who prescribed antibiotic ointment for his eyes...wish there was a less intrusive way to heal his eyes...he's my sweetheart and I love him so much!!! They had to sedate him to give him his update rabies vaccine and to test him for feluk and FIV and to check his eyes...the vet said we'd try next week to get him a two weeks antibiotic shot and maybe a steroid shot, that MIGHT work...but what else can be done for a FERAL who has a serious eye infection? I don't want my precious Squeak to go blind or something from the infection...He and I are having our second honeymoon (just kitting - we are only friends but we kiss and love on each other...it was so scary, the day he was gone to the vet's to be checked! I worried so much about him...) Hope fully next week the antibiotic shot and steroid shot will help him, but the vet wasn't very optimistic, so put your kitty paws together for prayers for Squeaky's eye problem! Oh, we are enjoying the cat room, Meomy is giving us canned food with our dry food, and the warm, quiet room with lots of sun is giving us hope that Squeaky will be well soon. We love our Meomy and Daddy so much and know they want the best for us.
